Between 7:18 a.m. and 10:18 a.m., my morning unfolded with a string of serendipitous moments that confirmed I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I arrived late to my sobriety meeting due to some much needed zzz’s. As the air hung for a few breaths, I chose to share what was on my mind, apologizing first for not knowing the day’s topic. I shared about the importance of practicing self-care in sobriety and stroke recovery. When I don’t prioritize my well-being and show up every day, my health and mood unravel. When I finished up, someone told me I had spoken precisely to the topic introduced before I logged on.
I was willing to let that coincidence go, however, a series of experiences echoed the same lesson in next 3 hours. There is a plan for my life. I could almost see the blueprint this morning as I recounted what happened with my psychiatrist. If I choose to believe, life makes perfect sense and I’m not fearful. If I choose to sit in the director’s chair pretending to have control over that which I don’t, I can’t notice the meaningful signs that surround me every day. Listen to hear about my morning! I still haven’t shared the strangest part of it all.
