Pining for Pixels # 96 - Nintendo Switch Appreciation!

Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!

March 3rd marks the 8 year anniversary of the Nintendo Switch, arguably one of the greatest video game consoles of all time. This little device today is recognized as a massive success and a money printing machine for Nintendo, but this wasn't always the case. At the time of launch, while there was a lot of excitment about Nintendo's impending release, there was also  a lot of skepticism too, with good reason. Coming on the heels of one their biggest flops in history (the WiiU), the Switch was far from a sure thing. It is a funny thought today, to think that some doubted this console, but a lot has happened from that time to now. Tune in to hear me gush over one of my favourite platforms ever, and how it managed to capture the hearts and minds of the world at large even in the face of scrutiny.
