practitioner.
We caution you though thispodcast may also dramatically
improve your life.
And we are so happy that you'rehere.
Pam (00:57):
And so welcome everyone to
our June Reiki share and
podcast.
Just wanted to start out byletting you know some of the
classes that we have coming upat the farm.
We've got our whale classeshappening, which is exciting.
With the whale classes inAugust, we have a Reiki level
(01:23):
one and two class August 9th and10th, followed by a masterclass
and it's on Campobello Island, which is off the coast of Maine.
And on the Sunday night afterthe level one and two class and
before the masterclass, we goout whale watching and I knew.
(01:43):
One time the whales, actuallytwo humpback whales stopped
feeding and just circled theboat to receive the Reiki.
And the tour operator said shehad never seen that happen
before or since.
So it doesn't always happen, butwe always do have a lovely
evening on the bay.
So I'd love to have you join usand Campo is amazing to come
(02:06):
visit.
You want to check out the milesof hiking trails, the beautiful
beaches, the everything at theRoosevelt Cottage is free as far
as Eleanor's tea and visitingthe cottage and the trails.
There's beautiful lighthousesand it's just a, it almost feels
(02:27):
like going back in time when youget to that island.
It just feels so simple andlovely.
So if that's a dream of yours, there is still room in the
class.
The classes are both online andin person.
So the Saturday Sunday evening,we go watching can only do that
though if you're in person.
And then Monday to Wednesday isthe masterclass and the
(02:50):
following.
Weekend, August 16th and 17th isour animal Reiki level one and
two training both online and inperson.
And then an animal Reiki masterteacher class is the Monday to
Wednesday online and in personat the Bay.
And so those are our fantasticclasses to attend.
(03:12):
I do have a list of places thatyou can stay.
In either Campobello or inLubeck if you decide to come up
and join us in person.
And we are, if you can't find aplace to stay but really want to
attend the class, let me know.
We're not certain, but we arehopeful that our Airbnb will be
ready by then.
(03:32):
And so we will we potentiallyhave four or five rooms
available.
And then.
Folks were asking abouthealthcare Reiki Tracy and I
taught it recently and Lynn wasjust mentioning she had been in
the class and just how much sheenjoyed it and how much her life
is changing and how it's, it,one of the things about
(03:55):
healthcare Reiki is it reallydoes cause you to.
Want to look after yourself.
And so we just all naturallyfind we're eating healthier,
we're exercising, we're doingall the things that we need to
do to be very vibrant andhealthy.
And so Lynn was just astoundedat how much that.
(04:17):
We did talk about it in class, but she just couldn't believe
how much it does happen.
And I noticed the same thing,Lynn.
And also just that ability tostay calm in the midst of chaos
and the ability to really justallow your schedule to just
organize itself so that it worksin your favor and all of those
(04:38):
things.
So I appreciate you bringing itup and if anybody who's
listening would like to attendhealthcare Reiki, our next class
is online, and it will be theevenings of September 15, 16,
and 22nd and 23rd.
So that's a Monday and Tuesdayevening.
(05:00):
On the 15th and 16th, and thenthe following Monday and Tuesday
evening from five 30 to 10Eastern time.
And then I'll be teaching onlineand at the farm in October as
well.
So would love to have you joinus for any of those classes that
that work for you and that makessense to you.
(05:24):
So today's topic, we aresupposed to talk about embracing
the joy of summer and energizingour goals, and I've had that
planned for a while, but I wasjust telling the folks that are
here with me in real time that.
(05:44):
As I was out just working withmy writing students in a lesson
and just now earlier I was shownthat.
There's going to be a slightadjustment and it is along the
lines of healthcare Reiki.
So we will be, I will bebringing in healthcare Reiki and
sharing it with you today in themeditation so that you can get a
(06:06):
feel for what that energy feelslike.
And just to give you a littlebackground, there is a an
episode I recorded a while backwith Tracy Sullivan.
Tracy Sullivan works in.
Healthcare field.
She was a medic in the middle,in the Air Force.
She was also a licensedpractical nurse and now she
teaches nuclear medicine and sheis also was very instrumental in
(06:33):
getting the Yale UniversityHospital Reiki program set up.
And she teaches there andtrains.
Students who then volunteer inthe program and we were guided
to sit down and begin listeningto the energy.
It'll be.
Let me think.
(06:54):
Two years ago in October, soabout a year and a half ago, and
every Friday morning we meet fora few hours and we listen in the
energy.
And so a very unique and specialenergy has come through along
with some different techniquesand information and symbols and
so on, and some of the thingsthat we've noticed about the
(07:17):
energy.
Or that it's very it reallyhelps us stay grounded and
centered and focused and calm, even in the midst of chaos.
And and another thing is justthe way that it I don't know, it
doesn't encourage us, but I.
(07:39):
We do notice for those who havestudied healthcare Reiki we've
taught I guess about 25, 26people so far.
We notice that we justautomatically start integrating
these healthier habits into ourlives.
And so that's exciting as well.
(08:00):
Although I do wanna talk aboutthe joy of summer and energizing
our goals, I think I also wantto address the fact that there
is some chaos happening in theworld right now, and I think we
want to, to take a moment to useReiki and healthcare Reiki
(08:22):
specifically to set that asideand make sure that it doesn't
get in the way of embracing thejoy of summer.
And on top of that, some of youare aware that, the last few
weeks have been really difficultfor us here at the farm.
We lost my Heart Horse buddy.
(08:45):
Just the day after Mother's Day.
So in, in early in mid-May.
It was sudden and unexpected andheartbreaking and so I went down
to Campobello for a few days tojust try to allow my heart to
heal.
While I was in Campobello, wetaught healthcare Reiki and then
(09:08):
just eight days.
After Buddy passed we got thelady thank, thankfully the lady
that was checking in on thehorses for us, let us know that
Star wasn't doing well.
So immediately we called the vetand we had to race home as
quickly as you can, race homewith a couple of ferry rides
(09:29):
from the island.
And, when we got here, shelooked to be doing a little bit
better.
So we were really hopeful.
But then the next morning shewasn't doing great and the
veterinarian and I spent all daywith her.
We tried everything we couldthink of, and in the end we
(09:49):
weren't successful.
We lost her as well.
So it was just so muchheartbreak that.
It's really had me it, it didknock me down.
I don't know how people whodon't have Reiki, navigate
things like that, they were withme almost 19 years since they
were a year old and.
(10:10):
They basically started mybusiness, my horse business, and
they were very present in the aswe created animal Reiki for me,
at least in my meditations.
But some of the other authorswould sometimes see my horses as
well in the meditations.
So it's been a really difficulttransition, as you can imagine,
(10:34):
and it's.
Really had me thinking aboutimpermanence lately and just,
purpose and and what's it allfor?
So I think as we get into this,we're going to address some of
(10:54):
those things and really see ifwe can set the tone to make sure
that.
We all have the very bestsummer.
Thank you Lynn.
Possible.
And that's my wish for you, especially in a time when really
strange things are happening inthe world.
(11:16):
And I think we are stepping intoa new age for sure.
So let's just go ahead and bringour hands together in Gassho for
a moment.
And just activate any Reikisymbols that you have, and just
(11:37):
imagine each symbol flowingthrough your hands, setting
themselves up in your heart, andas it does, it just moves deeper
and deeper.
(12:00):
Into your soul, into the core ofwho you are, and each symbol
brings with it its own energeticimprint.
And so we'll just take a momentto allow each of your symbols to
(12:21):
come one at a time through yourhands, settling into your heart.
And if any of you have everexperienced grief or heartache
or loss, or if you've ponderedthat question of impermanence
(12:47):
and if any of those injuriesstill exist within you.
You just allow each of the Reikienergies and frequencies to
settle around those injuries, that grief, those traumas, and
(13:15):
then just gently begin liftingthe injuries out.
Our own little Reiki hot airballoons that will return these
injuries to source and we canretain the lessons without the
(13:42):
injury.
So just allowing those energiesto lift.
And at the same time, I justinvite you to bring your own
energy.
Just imagine or ask it, inviteit to come in close to your body
so that it just skims your skin.
(14:07):
And as it gets in closer andtighter, just feel.
Any energy you may have beenholding or carrying on behalf of
others, just drop away any cordsor attachments that aren't
healthy for you.
Just unhook now and the brothersand sisters of the light and the
(14:28):
divine animals and the divinehealers from healthcare Reiki,
they all escort them into thelight.
I am just gonna surround you allin the symbols of healthcare
Reiki.
Now there are four, and they'llonly interact with you if you
(14:56):
wish to interact with them andjust feel yourself settling.
I.
Releasing any chaos, anylimiting beliefs, any thought
forms that are not your own, that collective narrative that
(15:24):
can be so pervasive, even ifit's not grounded in truth.
And then just reach insideyourself for your own truth and
(15:51):
invite your truth to replace anynarratives that had set up
within you.
From this place of sovereignty, just take a deep breath and you
(16:17):
may wish to say to yourself, Iam here now.
Just grounding yourself deeplyinto this present moment in time
as we're all together supportingeach other.
I.
In love in Reiki in the world.
(16:45):
Go ahead and place your handsover your heart and just take
your time coming back.
(17:07):
And so I'd just like to thankeveryone who's here with me and
everyone who listens afterward, and I'd just like to invite us
to form the intention to alignwith the light hearted energy I.
(17:30):
Summer, even if you're inAustralia and you're moving into
winter, there's time.
There's space in this season inboth hemispheres for both play
and personal fulfillment.
(17:50):
I, but I also want toacknowledge that.
There are a number of thingshappening on the planet these
days that may not align with youor with your truth or with your
beliefs.
And I don't mean the collectivenarrative.
(18:11):
I mean they just may not alignwith you.
There may be things happening, and of course we are very
conscious of what's happening onthe planet these days with
social media and with just allof the information, all of the
news that's coming at us all ofthe time.
And there is typically the newsis not neutral.
(18:35):
Typically, there is a spin onit, and there can often be a
negative spin.
When I worked for thegovernment, one of the first
things that.
The government taught us was howto write things.
We actually had to, we tookcourses in how to write in a way
that would spin something aspositive and, and how to avoid
(19:00):
the pitfalls and that sort ofthing.
And of course, I.
The news, there's a wonderfulbook by Stephen Pinker.
It's thick but William hadrecommended it and so I read it
years ago on his recommendationcalled The Better Angels of Our
Nature by Stephen Pinker, which.
Really talks about thatcollective narrative and how it
(19:22):
is formed and how it's notalways accurate and, but it is
always or it is often spun in acertain direction.
And so there are probably a lotof things that you're aware of
or that you're hearing aboutthat don't align with you.
Right now.
And if that's the case I didn'tmention to bring a journal that
(19:46):
I'm going to invite you to grabsomething to write with if you
can.
And I'd like you to just thinkabout what is happening in the
world that I'm not happy aboutthat upsets me.
And just write down just a shortsentence or two.
(20:06):
To indicate that.
And so we're just gonna take afew minutes.
Now, some of you may wantlonger, you may want to write a
page and that's okay.
But I just think invite you tothink about some of the things
that are happening either inyour life, in your state, in
(20:28):
your province, in your country,in the world.
That is, that are upsetting.
(21:05):
I think this is just as good forme as for the rest of you,
because I'm realizing I havequite a few things that to write
down, especially based on myrecent political time running
for the Green Party.
I.
(22:09):
If you're still writing, keepdoing that.
But the message that camethrough is that the importance
of writing those things down andthen using Brachy to help us let
them go, and we're going to dothat in our meditation today.
(22:30):
But I'd like to shift yourfocus, and if you haven't
written everything down that'supsetting, it's okay.
You can just put an initial orjust, even think about it.
What the energy has been guidingor what it wanted me to talk
about today is now I'd like youto shift your focus and I'd like
you to go and have a look at thethings that are upsetting you.
(22:53):
And if it's something.
That is within your control.
If it's something that you cando something about, put a check
mark beside it.
But if it's something that isout of your control, then put an
X beside it.
Okay?
So just go ahead and have a lookat what you've chosen, and if
(23:19):
it's within your control, put acheck mark.
If it's out of your control, putan x.
(23:59):
Now let's just take a moment toshift our focus to some of the
things in our own lives that arewithin our control.
So I must say that's been a goodexercise for me because there's
two or three things that areupsetting to me that I clearly
(24:22):
saw.
Wait, I think I can do somethingabout those.
But many of things that I findupsetting, they're completely
out of my control.
There's nothing I can do aboutthem.
They got an X and the messagehere is that they're not worth
my time if I can't actually havean impact on them.
(24:45):
And so what the energy wasencouraging us to do is shift
our focus to what's within ourcontrol.
So admittedly, there were threethings on my list that I
realized.
Three out of 11 things.
That I can do something about.
(25:06):
And so that's cool.
But there's also what I decidedto do is I realized that really
following politics, and I haveto follow it to a certain extent
because I'm probably going torun again and I need to be in
the loop, but there's no need tospend a tremendous amount of
(25:29):
time.
It because I am not an electedrepresentative, so there's not
an awful lot I can do at themoment.
But there are, I can spend timein my own little corner of the
world.
And so after the election, oneof the things that I was shown
was maybe I can't bring infunding for.
(25:56):
Greener village and thecommunity kitchen and some of
the places that look after orhelp people who are in need.
But I can volunteer with thoseorganizations and so I've been
able to go and bake bread.
(26:16):
And know that those loaves ofbread that I'm shaping and that
we're baking are going to feedfamilies.
And the energy really had mefocus on my own farm because
I've been so busy with electionsand other things that I haven't.
(26:36):
Been able to put enough timeinto my gardens and the
landscaping and things likethat.
And so it's been really fun toget out and dig up my gardens
again and make things beautifuland fix fences and, knock down
buildings and just do some ofthose things and we undertook a
(27:01):
few renovations in the house.
That's something that is in ourcontrol and that we could do.
So I'd just like you to thinkabout what are some of the
things that you can impact thatgive you joy and write those
down.
We'll take a few moments there.
(27:48):
One of the things I've noticedis.
I can spend more time with thehorses these days and time
riding and working on healthcareReiki as well, so energetically
we're going to shift our focusto those things that are within
our control, and also that.
Bring us joy.
(28:09):
So things that we, and controlis maybe not the word.
Things we can influence.
So we're going to let go of thethings that we have no ability
to influence, and we're going tofocus on the things that we can
influence.
So let's just.
Think about summer for a momentgoing into in the Northern
(28:33):
Hemisphere that just, this issuch a time of extroverted
activities, celebration, andit's also a bit of a transition
from that routine into morerelaxation because even though
we still work in the summer, theexpectations aren't the same.
And there, there really is weare able to relax and here where
(28:55):
I live anyway, we have such longdays.
It's so funny because evenpeople who come from New England
when they visit us and see that.
In Atlantic Canada, that it'snot dark at 10 o'clock at night.
It's so surprising.
And so this is just a real timefor joy, connection, vibrancy.
(29:18):
And it's a time for us to bemore relaxed, more adventurous.
And to, and any of the, anyfolks who are still tied to the
school year.
I've always thought January 1stshouldn't be the beginning of
the year.
It should be September 1st.
That's really when everythingkind of kicks into gear.
(29:39):
But I.
We're, we know that we're headedinto this.
And today it began with a reallybeautiful day.
We've got barn swallows out herethat are doing their work.
They're making a big differencein the insect population.
The horses are enjoying thegreen grass and and life is
(30:00):
good.
So what are some of the thingswe can do just.
In our regular routine becauseit is important.
One of the things that sometimesgets off the table in summer is
self-care.
So it is important to be alittle bit more intentional
about self-care because we'reoften, there are a lot of, we've
(30:22):
got.
Birthday parties and graduationparties and there's, and just
getting together with friends.
So there is a lot of that.
And so just the importance ofself care.
So one of the things we can dois just be sure to start our
mornings with our self Reiki.
Just start the day with energyand focus.
And it doesn't have to be a longsession.
(30:44):
Just a couple of ideas that forour self session, you can do.
All of the hand positions, but Iknow personally, I rarely have
time to do all of the handpositions.
So I just think of one or two orthree positions that I want to
spend time in.
Or I even start just with aGassho meditation and maybe just
(31:05):
one hand position or as many asI can fit in each day.
And I always go to bed.
W with doing a self Reiki aswell, so that I do wake up
energized and able to focus.
But something else you may wantto do is send Reiki ahead to all
(31:26):
of your summer plans, like yourtrips, your celebrations, any
creative projects that.
You're planning, send Reikiahead.
And one thing that we all findis that sometimes summer can be
too short to fit everything in.
And one of the things Reiki cando for us is it almost even
stretches time sometimes, or itreally does help organize our
(31:51):
schedules.
So make sure you send Reikiahead to your calendar, your
plans, any trips, anycelebrations.
And you can also, if you haveany extroverted activity with
family and friends especially ifyou're an introvert like me just
you can use Reiki to send aheadto those activities and also to
(32:13):
set some intentions like, Iwanna make sure that I have a
really nice time and I wannamake sure I have time talking to
this person or.
Or whatever, and so you can useReiki there as well.
The energy of summer is sodynamic and so extroverted, and
it can go so fast that Reiki canhelp us stay grounded and
(32:36):
present.
Some of us are also going to bein transition mode, especially
if you have young children, soyou're coming onto the end of
the school year, or you might beshifting into vacation mode and
it's odd, but even positivethings like that when you do.
(32:57):
Have those shifts, they can betricky or maybe the grandkids
are off and you're going to beable to spend more time with
them or nieces and nephews.
And so Reiki can just help withthose transitions.
You can, again, you can send.
Use the distance symbol and sendto the transition ahead of time.
(33:19):
And Reiki can help with that.
And it can also if you've had abusy day, you can use self Reiki
to just.
Relax and recharge.
You can do breathing exerciseswith Reiki, even just imagining
breathing in a symbol andletting it travel through your
body and your bloodstream.
(33:41):
And it can really help youremain calm, even in the midst
of excitement.
And it can be really lovely tomarry those two energies
together, excitement andgrounded calmness.
And so we are going to do ameditation now just stepping
into summer with Reiki, and thenwe'll come back and wrap up.
(34:07):
So I'd just like you to go aheadand make yourselves comfortable.
Take a deep breath.
As we use Reiki to connect withthe vibrant energy of summer,
align with our goals, align withwhat we can influence and let go
(34:36):
of any worries or any chaos thatwe're unable to influence.
And as we do this, we're also.
Going to embrace the joy of theseason.
So with your eyes closed, breathing deeply, breathing,
(34:59):
Reiki in on your breath as itflows into your body, into your
bloodstream, and as you let yourbreath out, just imagine.
Anything that's connecting youwith chaos or concern, anything
(35:33):
that's connecting you with thoseenergies that you can't
influence?
Any upset, any frustration, anyanger, any fear.
Let all of these release on youroutbreath, and we're just gonna
(35:57):
breathe here for about 12breaths.
Breathing, re in, and as webreathe out, just releasing our
attachment to those things thatwe cannot influence.
(38:01):
Now with your awarenessremaining on your breath.
With each inhale, feel yourselfgrounding into the earth, steady
and supported.
And with each exhale now, Iinvite you to release a.
(38:21):
Any tension or stress from theschool year, from work, from
routines, and we'll take 12breaths together here.
(40:10):
Now just imagine roots growingfrom your body into the earth,
moving all the way down to thegroundwater, and the bedrock
beneath the groundwater, anchoring you in stability and
peace regardless of what'shappening around you.
(40:33):
Healthcare, Reiki energyamplifies this effect and feel
the earth's nurturing energy, the divine energy of the earth
rising through these roots andjust filling you now with calm
(40:55):
and peace and balance.
Now I invite you to focus onthat second list.
(41:24):
A list of things that you caninfluence, and we're going to
bring that peace and calm andbalance and stability into all
of the items on that list, however many there are.
(41:51):
And we're going to send Reikiusing the distance symbol to all
of the things on the list thatyou can influence.
(42:15):
We invite the energy of Reiki toempower those things and empower
you to accomplish or achievethem, to influence them.
(42:37):
In a way that's very effortlessand positive, and we'll take 12
breaths together as the Reikienergy spreads out from you into
these areas of your life thatyou can influence and empowers
them, stabilizes them, andgrounds them.
(43:04):
Into your daily life.
(44:50):
Going to embrace the energy ofsummer.
I invite you to imagine thatReiki and the warm summer
sunlight both surround you now.
Just filling you with vitalityand lightheartedness,
(45:12):
playfulness, and childlikewonder with every breath, just
allow these energies to infuseyour entire being melting away
any remaining heaviness,inviting, joy, inviting,
playfulness, inviting.
(45:35):
The magic of childlike wonder, and you may wish to say to
yourself, I embrace the energyof summer.
I welcome joy, connection, andadventure, and we'll take 12
breaths here together.
(47:36):
Spring to mind, one or moreintentions that you have for the
summer season.
Maybe it's spending quality timewith loved ones.
Maybe it's pursuing a creativeproject.
Maybe it's just allowingyourself the luxury, the space
(47:59):
to relax and recharge.
Whatever it is, imagine thoseintentions are glowing orbs of
light in your hands.
I invite you to infuse theseglowing orbs of light with Reiki
(48:20):
energy, watching them becomebrighter, more vibrant, more
alive.
And then simply imagine yourselfplacing these orbs in your
heart, trusting that they'llgrow and manifest effortlessly.
(48:43):
If you wish, you can go to yourlist or this may be a different
list, and we'll breathe heretogether for 12 breaths.
(50:11):
I invite you to think about someof your favorite.
Summer activities, the thingsthat really bring you joy.
Maybe it's walking on a beach, maybe it's catching up with
friends.
Maybe it's climbing a mountain, exploring new places, new
adventures.
(50:32):
Just invite the Reiki energythat surrounds us to flow into
these moments.
Amplifying their beauty andconnection, and you may even
wish to repeat to yourself.
I infuse my summer with joy, gratitude and love, and we'll
(51:00):
breathe together here for sixbreaths.
(52:07):
Now I invite you to bring yourawareness back to the present
moment in time.
Bringing your attention to youreyes.
Take a deep breath, slowly openyour eyes and come back and take
(52:29):
a moment to say thank you to youfor taking time out for this
practice, for embracing theenergy of summer and.
I just heard a thunder roar as Isaid this.
(52:50):
I love thunder and lightningstorms.
I feel that they really changethe energy and they bring
lightness, and so I invite youto carry this sense of lightness
and joy and enthusiasm with youfor the rest of the season.
(53:11):
The rest of the month, the week, the day, and I want to thank you
for taking the time to spendwith me today.
Thank you to those who were ableto join me in real time, and for
those who are listening later, Ihope you have a wonderful
(53:35):
summer.
Filled with balance and tensionand the spirit of play and
childlike wonder.
Thank you for being here.
Namaste.
