(01:19):
and alignment.

(02:04):
doing.
We are going to be visiting theGiraffe Manor Center and Lenga
Lynx.
We're going to be going to theSheldrick Elephant Orphanage,
Nairobi National Park.
And then we're going to take acouple of days and go over to
Neva NAI Game Park for anadditional animal experience.
And I don't know about you, butthe animals of Africa have
(02:27):
always fascinated me and yet Idon't know them as well at all
as the animals here in NorthAmerica.
And I'd love to get to know thembetter.
And also, the Africa has thedistinction of being the cradle
of civilization.
So I've always wanted to go, butit's something that, it's a
little, it can be a littledifficult to arrange a trip.
(02:51):
We've been invited by my friendand a student, Christie Carlson.
Christie lives in Kenya.
They have a coffee, two coffeeplantations I believe there.
And she's going to help usorganize everything so that you
just have to look after theflight and a couple of the meals
while you're there.
Everything else will be lookedafter for you.
(03:11):
So if you are like me and you'vealways wanted to visit Africa,
then join us for an informationsession Monday, October 13th at
10:00 AM Eastern Time.
And I'll tell you what, I willrecord that I realize it's a
weekday.
So not everybody is probablygoing to be able to get there.
(03:33):
So I will record it and I willalso put it out as a podcast.
So I am going to look in ournewsletter this weekend.
There will be a.
Link to sign up to join us forthe October 13th zoom session
with Christie.
And we'll have a lot moredetails then.
(03:54):
And you can ask any questionsthat you'd like, even if you're
just thinking about it.
We'll also be ending with abeautiful experience that, that
actually connects us with.
The continent with the animalsthere.
And so I'd love to have you joinus.
So that's super exciting.
Also exciting at the farm, online and in person.
(04:15):
I've got some Reiki classescoming up this week, October
20th to 23rd.
Actually, I have an onlineevening class, October 25th to
26th, online and in personanimal Reiki one and two.
And then that's followed by the27th to 30th of October and
(04:36):
online animal Reiki masterclass.
We're gonna be talking a littlebit about how Care Reiki this
evening because it's.
Rocking my world and it'srocking the world of a couple of
the folks who are here with uslive who've had an opportunity
to take the course, the nextclass.
And it is on my website thistime.
(04:56):
So you will find it there.
The next class is over fourevenings, again, November 15th
and 16th and 22nd to 23rd.
And that will be followed by aweekend class in the eastern
time zone February 7th andeighth.
So we do have some morehealthcare Reiki.
I very seldom teach KaurnaReiki, but if some of you want
(05:19):
to take the masters to the nextlevel, una does that.
And I have a class November 17thto the 20th, which is in the
evening.
So it works for Asia andAustralia.
I also am super excited to tellyou that after a long hiatus and
(05:41):
just being in the winter seasonthis past summer after losing my
horses the animal communicationbook finally is punching out
again.
And I've started writing and I'mjust really, it's, I've only
been writing for a few days atthis point.
But I'm really excited by what'scoming through and how quickly
(06:03):
it's coming.
So it's my intention to try tohave the animal communication
for Reiki practitioners bookready for you in time for
Christmas, if not a bit beforein November the 22nd and 23rd.
We have an animal communicationlevel one and two class.
It's a weekend class online.
(06:25):
The 24th and 25th online, overtwo evenings is the professional
practitioner class for animalcommunication.
And you can take them back toback if you wish.
And you can also, any of theclasses, including the African
class, you guys classes, if youhave already taken a class with
(06:46):
me, you're always welcome toreview them at 50% fee as long
as there's room in the class.
And then we have an animalcommunication masterclass.
The date of this class didchange.
I realized that I had it.
It was in conflict with theAmerican Thanksgiving.
So it's now December 1st tothird online in the evenings.
(07:09):
Next September I'll be teachingin Hong Kong and this winter
look for a Reiki mentoringcourse with the Reiki business
book.
And this is a course thatmasters can teach to their
students as well.
I'm going to set it up this wayalso look for some additional
marketing courses.
(07:29):
Those were some of the coursesmy daughter and I offered in the
past that people seemed tobenefit so much from.
So if marketing your Reikibusiness or any spiritual
business is important to you, just keep an eye on our
newsletter.
There'll be more details comingvery soon.
And in November, I start workingor maybe it's even this month, I
(07:50):
do start working on my horsecard deck.
So super excited.
Now the topic for tonight isaround Ayurveda.
And I know that's a bit of astrange topic, especially
because I'm not an expert inAyurveda by any stretch.
(08:11):
But what happened is thathealthcare Reiki we were just
talking about it before Istarted recording with some of
the students that are here liveand healthcare Reiki has been
it.
It came in and showed us thatyes, one of the reasons for
(08:31):
taking healthcare Reiki might beto offer healthcare in nursing
homes and with hospice and inmassage therapy clinics and in
veterinary offices.
It is it's helpful for animalsand just all of these different
places and to family and friendsas well.
So that could be one reason forstudying that.
(08:52):
However, one of the main thingsthat came through was that for
the healthcare Reikipractitioner, simply moving
ourselves into the frequency ofhealth, it allows and helps
others that are just in ourvicinity, just from being in our
vicinity.
(09:13):
It allows them to entrain totheir authentic health, their
and our authentic health is notdisease, it's not illness, it's
health.
And so many of us who havestudied Reiki healthcare Reiki
are just finding that it's made,it's just like automatically and
(09:33):
spontaneously made profoundshifts in our lives.
Like suddenly we're exercisingand we're loving it, and we're
eating healthier and we're nolonger anxious.
And we don't find ourselves doomscrolling anymore.
And just a whole lot of reallyinteresting things like that
have been coming to play.
But it is also individual and itshows up in an individual way
(09:57):
for everyone who needs it.
And so what showed up for memany of I've talked about it on
the podcast I guess before, isthat I was diagnosed with
fibromyalgia in my twenties, andso inflammation, and I also have
some arthritis.
So these are autoimmunediseases.
Autoimmune diseases are verycommon for empathic people.
(10:22):
Many of us who get into Reikiand especially those who get
into animal Reiki and who loveanimals tend to be empaths.
Many it's, in fact pretty much ahundred percent of the people
that show up in my class areempaths.
And Reiki really helped me learnto manage my empathy.
(10:42):
And it really helped make thefibromyalgia the inflammation
the issues with arthritis.
It made it all bearable.
But I just after healthcareReiki, I really looked at it and
I thought, I was diagnosed withfibromyalgia in my twenties.
This has been more than 30 yearsnow with inflammation in my
(11:04):
body.
And I realized that inflammationis just the cause of so many
issues and so many negativethings.
And I thought, it's time tofinally figure this out.
And I did figure it out a fewyears ago with a really strict
diet and an anti-inflammatorydiet and stuff, but it wasn't
totally practical to justcontinually have to eat.
(11:27):
That way.
And so for me I am aware thatthe inflammation is related to
diet and I just said, you knowwhat?
I want to figure this out.
And that's all healthcare Reikineeded was for me to form an
intention.
I wanna figure this inflammationout.
I'm, I am, I'm tired of alwaysbeing sore in my body.
(11:51):
And yes, I'm much less sore thanI used to be, but I'm still sore
every single minute of everyday.
And so I was I decided that Iwas going to look for some
answers.
So what showed up was Ayurveda.
Now I'd like to talk to youabout just how Reiki, and you
(12:11):
don't have to have healthcareReiki for this.
Every form of Reiki is alwaysgoing to move to bring you into
balance and alignment.
And what showed up was Ayurvedajust.
Simple shifts for deep healing.
And I was absolutely shocked athow Reiki and Ayurveda wove
together for me and how quicklythe inflammation dissipated, how
(12:37):
quickly my digestion for thefirst time in my life that I can
remember my digestion has becomecomfortable and just how very
aligned I feel right now, body, mind, and spirit.
So that's why I wanted to talkwith you about this topic today.
And it's been coming through aswe've been listening.
(12:59):
Healthcare Reiki is a new coursethat Tracy Sullivan and I have
been working to develop.
We've just been listening to theenergy for the last couple of
years and we've been teachingthe class.
We've taught three classes nowat the level one and two level
and we'll continue teaching it.
One of the things that isshowing up is just how very
(13:20):
important alignment is and howthat alignment changes
everything.
And so what showed up for me wasthe only thing really, I'm so
aligned in and not look, I'vestill got a lot of work to do,
just like everybody, but so manyareas of my life were aligned
(13:40):
and what wasn't aligned and whatdecidedly wasn't aligned was my
gut and my gut microbiome.
And and that was just causing.
These physical problemsmentally, spiritually, and
emotionally.
I felt so good, but myphysicality was just simply not
matching how wonderful my spiritfelt how great my emotions felt,
(14:04):
how great my mind felt.
And this seemed to bring thatabout.
And I know that many people withautoimmune struggles face
digestive.
I balanced challenges andalignment challenges.
So even though I'm not anexpert, I'd like to take you
through this little journey I'vebeen on for this month long
(14:26):
course that I've been taking andand just let you know where it
led to.
So before we go into it too muchfurther, I always like to bring
us into, or I often like tobring us into an invocation, so
I'm just gonna invite you.
To bring your hands together inGassho now and just activate
(14:49):
your Reiki energy.
And if there's a particularsymbol that feels like it's
calling to you now, just imaginethat it's between your hands and
that the light of Reiki isflowing down from the highest
(15:12):
heavens up from the divine earthto in front of your hands.
And then it moves through yourhands and into your heart, the
gift of love.
And I invite you to just thinkabout any area of your life that
feels out of alignment.
(15:33):
And it may not be physical foryou, it might be spiritual, it
might be emotional, it might bemental.
It might have to do withrelationships, with work, with
your home life.
There's so many options, butwhat is stands out to you in
(15:55):
this moment in time as somethingthat feels a bit out of balance
for you?
And as you get this into yourmind, simply form an intention
(16:17):
now to invite Reiki to surrenderthis imbalance to Reiki and
invite Reiki to take care of youfor you and to show you the way
forward the way.
(16:39):
If there's anything you mightneed to do to support Reiki.
One time I was looking into aphysical therapy, A PRP
treatment for my knees.
When I shared with Colleen thatmaybe with Reiki I could bring
(17:00):
in the same frequency, and sheshared that sometimes Pam Reiki,
Reiki brings us to what we need.
So I went and got the therapyand it had a profound impact on
the health and wellbeing of myright knee that had been
bothering me and causingproblems since I was 14.
(17:28):
So just being open to usingReiki, but also following the
guidance of Reiki.
And I'd like to make you allaware of a new prayer that
William Rand has brought in.
Many of you know that for yearshe used the prayer guide me and
(17:51):
heal me, so I may be of greaterservice to myself and others.
But recently, he's been guidedto change that prayer and it's
now empower me and guide me tofully express my authentic self
(18:14):
on earth.
And so we end our invocationtoday with that prayer, empower
me and guide me to fully expressmy authentic self on earth.
And our authentic selves arewhole and healed and aligned.
And so we invite the.
(18:36):
Energy of Reiki, whatever formof Reiki that you practice,
whatever symbols to join youhere today.
Empowering your intentions andthis goal.
Thank you.
And so it is Namaste.
(19:01):
So I invite you to come back inyour own time.
So if we look at Reiki andbalance, Reiki can often help
show us many times theimbalances are.
Under our level of awareness.
So in other words, they mayexist in our body, mind, soul,
(19:24):
spirit, but we may not even beconscious of them.
And whether we're conscious ofthem or not, Reiki will often
uncover this for us.
It will often show us where weare not in a place of balance,
and Reiki is always there tohelp us move back into balance.
In fact, if there is a place ofimbalance that you're aware of,
(19:47):
you can actually surrender it toReiki and ask Reiki to take care
of it for you.
But sometimes, as Colleenmentioned, we also need to play
a part.
There also might be a role forus.
So just being aware and beingopen to the guidance that you
receive from Reiki for.
(20:08):
What is your part in this?
And just understanding thatenergy being aligned is one of
the foundations of healing.
So as I was reflecting on, okayI'm finished with inflammation.
It's been more than 30 years andnobody has really been able to
(20:30):
figure, help me figure this out, except with really strict a
really strict diet.
But there must be another way.
And Reiki just really clearlyshowed me that I was to do some
courses and I had enjoyed myselfat Rebecca Campbell's course at
Omega Institute.
So much I said, okay am Isupposed to do Rebecca's
courses?
(20:50):
And I heard, no.
And am I supposed to do one ofColleen's courses?
And I, I heard, no, that's notwhat you need right now.
And so I just, I kept inquiring, okay, then what am I supposed to
do?
And I was supposed to look atthe list of courses that Omega
was offering and also thecourses that Kripalu was
offering.
And one of the courses reallystood out to me.
(21:11):
I am signed up for a writingcourse with Omega coming up in
next weekend or the weekendafter next, but also, a course
showed up that Kripalu wasoffering on Ayurveda, and I'll
be honest, Ayurveda's not, I'veheard of it, but I didn't really
know what it was.
And yet that was a course.
It just for me, it shows up likealmost like it's in bold letters
(21:35):
if it's something that is tryingto catch my attention.
And her course showed up in boldletters and I was like I wonder
what this is.
And as I looked into it, Idiscovered that the person
offering the course, Sarah JeanRudman, she is a faculty member,
Kripalu, but in addition.
To being an Ayurvedicpractitioner and teacher.
She's a clinical nutritionist.
(21:57):
She teaches yoga.
She's a life coach, she's afitness instructor.
So she really integrates easternand western approaches and to
health and to teaching thatrestore balance through Ayurveda
yoga, nutrition, and mindfulliving.
And I thought, oh, this issomebody.
I knew that for my brain I wasgoing to need somebody who had a
very scientific approach.
(22:19):
And she does, she did.
She's actually working on herPhD right now in this work.
And yet the course was aroundAyurveda and she kept bringing
in, where the Ayurveda, thistradition that's been around for
millennia is now only just nowbeing proven by science.
(22:42):
And so she actually would bringsome of the scientific studies
each week and it was reallyfascinating.
She talks about some reallysimple things that each and
every one of us can do.
These principles of Ayurveda, things like aligning with the
rhythms of nature, seasonalself-care, balancing our dosha,
(23:05):
which everybody, you can do aquiz and find out what is your
Doha.
It's probably no surprise tothose of you who understand
Ayurveda, that I'm Pitta.
Vata.
Pitta is that, lots of energy, get a lot of things done, kind
of personality.
And so she does talk about thereare three Doshas, thatta, pita,
(23:25):
and Kapha.
And I'll talk about those alittle bit more in, in a few
moments.
And so you figure out what youare and so therefore.
When you have an imbalance, youcan identify it a little bit
easier and you can see what todo about it.
She talked about mindful eating, lifestyle habits that support
digestion.
(23:46):
She talked about immunity andemotional balance, and so it was
just absolutely fascinating andI just wanted to share a few
tidbits from it tonight.
And just invite you, we're goingto go into a meditation
afterward to see if any of thosethings would be helpful to you
or if there's something elsethat would be helpful to you in
(24:07):
your health.
And we are going to bring in acombination of the healthcare,
Reiki and Ayurveda that has madesuch a profound difference for
me.
So basically what is Ayurveda?
Some of you may know more aboutthis than I do.
It's the science of life.
That's basically the definition.
That's what it means, and it'sabout aligning with nature's
(24:29):
rhythms.
And personally, I just reallywanted to get rid of the
inflammation.
This was bold.
I didn't really see how that wasgonna work.
And it, when I tried looking itup on my own to and to just
learn a little bit before thecourse it didn't really align
with me.
And I was like okay, but thisseems complicated.
(24:50):
So I just absolutely loved howSarah Jean was able to show us
that even just tiny practicesbegin to change things.
So just a little bit about it.
As I said, it's literally,Ayurveda translated as the
science of life.
It comes from Sanscript, whichis, and its basis is ias, which
(25:10):
is life and Veda, which isknowledge.
So the knowledge or science oflife, it's been some it varies
how old people believe it is,but some people believe it's
roots trace back 5,000 years.
Other people say to 2000, over2,500.
It comes from India where Sagesand Sears or re rishis develop
(25:32):
this approach to health byobserving nature, the seasons,
the body and the mind.
So it's part of the Vedictradition of India, and it's
connected to the four sacredtexts known as the Vedas.
And I'm probably not going toread the Vedas, but it's just
interesting to note.
(25:54):
And the teachings emphasizedliving in harmony with our
natural cycles and the risingand setting of the sun, the
rhythm of the seasons, and thebalance of the elements.
And so what Sarah Jean invitedus to do was begin with looking
at daily rhythms and then justexpand out.
(26:16):
And she invited us to be verygentle with ourselves, not try
to do everything at once, justto choose one thing and spend a
week integrating that one thinginto our lives.
And then, if that was going andit worked for us, then take
another thing and add it and seehow that.
And so that was reallyinteresting.
(26:38):
And she also dove into a fewthings.
So I mentioned the Doshas va andKapha.
She dove into the Agni, which isour digestive fire, and it's
the, this is something that I'dnever learned about or never
heard of.
And then the ojas, which is ourvital essence.
And then the Dyna, Chaia andCharia, which is our daily and
(27:00):
seasonal routines.
So just as a little point of ininterest, Ayurveda actually
influenced traditional Chinesemedicine.
It introduced Tibetan medicineand for those of us connected
with the ICRT the ICRT wasconnected with Tibetan Shamanism
or Tibetan the Reiki that weused to learn, or that I first
(27:24):
learned was an ISU yasui TibetanReiki lineage.
And so Tibet is is a connectionand also Ayurveda influenced
Greek medicine through the traderoots and cultural exchange.
So it has remained the mainhealthcare system in India for
(27:45):
thousands of years.
It's practiced in villages, inroyal courts all over with the
colonization of India in the19th century, it was suppressed
in favor of western medicine, but it did survive through the
community, healers andhouseholds, and recently.
There's been a modern revival inthe 20th century a renaissance
(28:06):
if you want, in India, whereit's supported by both
traditional practitioners andmodern integrative health
movements.
And however, a lot of theinformation that SeroGene was
sharing was actually am, wereactually American studies that,
and North American studies thatwere proving some international,
(28:27):
but a lot of North Americanstudies that were proving many
of the concepts of Ayur beta.
And so currently the Indiangovernment officially recognizes
it as a medical system withdedicated universities and
hospitals globally.
It's practiced more in acomplimentary way as a
complimentary wellness systemespecially around nutrition,
(28:51):
digestion, stress reduction.
And aligning lifestyle withnatural rhythms.
So if that's of interest to anyof you I do invite you to to
dive in or dig in and and checkit out.
So it does tend to be, not somuch, it is a medical system,
but it's not just that.
It's more of a way of living inbalance with nature and
(29:13):
imbalance with the seasons andimbalance with ourselves and has
been tested and refined overthousands of years.
So some of the things she talkedabout were, first of all just pr
PR Ricky and vi viti, which isunderstanding our dosha and then
(29:40):
understanding our imbalances.
And if that's something that youare interested in, I'll pop a
link into the podcast notes.
But.
There is a company called BanyanBotanicals that she recommended,
and I went on the website myselfand I noticed they have a
tremendous number of freeresources that help you under
(30:01):
that, starting with a quiz thathelps you find out what your
dosha is and and it walks youthrough where your imbalances
could be and obviously theywould like to sell their oils.
But I'm just really interestedin reading through the
tremendous amount ofinformation.
Just, I'm just reading anarticle a day from them.
(30:21):
But you can actually go intothat and find out what your
dosha is if it's not somethingthat you know.
But following that, she talkedabout Dina Chaia and tu, which
is aligning your daily routinesand seasonal practices with
nature's cycles to support, balance and resilience.
And the daily.
(30:44):
She said, let you know, let'sjust start with daily.
And we ended the month withseasonal.
She said, let's just look atdaily practices.
And she talked about the factthat when we, one of the reasons
that our stomach gets upset orwe feel ill when we travel, is
that our body really thrives onroutines and anything that
(31:06):
throws us out of routine canhave an impact on our health.
And she talked about a couple ofsmall things that we could do in
our routine that would just makea huge difference.
And she just recommended justdoing one thing at a time.
So the first thing she talkedabout was water first thing in
(31:29):
the morning.
And I thought, but I alreadydrink tea in the morning and I
drink a cup of coffee.
Like I feel, felt that I wasgetting lots of liquid, but she
was very clear, it doesn't haveto have lemon or anything, just
drink a lukewarm glass of waterfirst thing in the morning.
And in fact, she recommended 20ounces.
She said, you're going to sleepbetter.
It's going to, you're going tobe hydrated.
You are gonna be thirstierthrough the day.
(31:51):
So I thought that's one thing.
That was the first thing Idecided to add to my to add.
And so I went ahead and Istarted drinking just two
glasses of water in the morning, first thing before my coffee and
tea.
I can't tell you the differencethat made just to my digestion,
to, I, I wound up drinking morewater through the day because I
(32:15):
noticed myself thirstier better.
My sleep was impacted.
I.
It was such a simple thing andit made such a huge difference.
The next thing I wound upintegrating was tongue scraping
and using the Neti pot.
And she said, calls that cleancleansing the sense organs.
(32:38):
And I always thought tonguescraping had something to do
with releasing toxins orsomething like that.
And she said no.
It's to stimulate yourdigestion.
And so as you do this, you knowthis starts to fire up your agni
or your digestive fire so thatwhen you eat breakfast, you'll.
(32:58):
You'll be prepared and ready todigest it.
So that's something that wasreally easy to do.
And so I went ahead and addedthat and I went out and grabbed,
bought a Netty pot, and I addedthat and I decided to add the
both of them that week, and Icannot believe the difference in
(33:19):
my breathing with just doingthat simple, added that to my
routine every morning.
Obviously the first few times Idid it, it seemed to take
A-L-A-A-A bit of time, but afterabout a week it was like just
effortless and it just becamepart of the routine and I just
loved it.
Another thing she recommendedwas skin brushing.
(33:40):
And it's, that's something I'dbeen sporadic with on and off.
And so I already had the brushand everything, and then just
using strokes of sesame oil orcoconut oil to moisturize your
skin after you do the skinbrushing.
And that just stimulates thelymphatic system.
And so on the week three, Iadded that, and she also
(34:03):
recommends movement.
And the movement I was alreadydoing, but I sim I just couldn't
believe the difference thatdoing those simple things.
What they did.
The next thing she talked aboutwas.
The digestive fire theni andmindful eating rituals, and just
(34:26):
the importance of strengtheningour digestion and creating small
rituals around eating.
She also talked about just howimportant the timing was, the
quality of our food, theattention to, the presence.
And I have to admit that in somany areas, like I, I take the
time to do a lot of things.
Food is an area that I just,it's fuel for me.
(34:50):
I don't think very much.
I usually, eat quickly as I'mdoing something else.
And pausing a little bit andbeing a bit more mindful.
I think that also made a hugedifference.
And she was very specific aroundthe meals that it's important to
have a medium sized breakfast, alarger lunch, because that's
(35:11):
when our digestive fire is thestrongest and the smallest meal
being supper, because that'swhen our digestive fire is the
weakest and no eating threehours before bed.
Now I don't always do that, butI have moved toward that
pattern, that rhythm, and Iliterally I've been telling my
(35:33):
husband almost every day sincethe course started oh my gosh, I
don't have any inflammationtoday.
I can't believe how good I feel.
And so that's been reallypositive.
After this, she moved intotalking about strength looking.
At the positive, not focusing onwhat's wrong, but instead
(35:56):
focusing on your strength, thatwisdom that your body has and
trying to reclaim your healthwithout any shame or without
rigid rules.
And just the importance of, eventhough these are guidelines, not
being too hard on yourself, being kind to yourself.
(36:16):
She brought in she, she reallywove the scientific insight into
it, especially around gut healthand nutrition and, which was
really interesting.
And then she talked about theimportance of just these small
daily rituals, like the warmwater in the morning, walking
after your meals making surethat your workspace is soothing,
(36:41):
using aromatherapy and colortherapy as just tools to help
within your day.
And without even intentionallythinking about it, I just
noticed that I was more aware ofall of these things.
And then finally she actuallytalked about some of the recipes
(37:02):
that she had, and I'm gonna puta few of the recipes in the
chat.
One in particular aroundturmeric milk, which is just two
cups of milk or plant-basedmilk.
A teaspoon of turmeric, a halfteaspoon of cinnamon.
A quarter of teaspoon of gingerand a sprinkle of black pepper
(37:23):
and a little bit of honey afterheating it.
And I'll be honest, I haven'ttried this yet, but I'm about
to.
But the other thing that showedup, just as I started becoming a
little bit more mindful aroundthe food around these practices,
I just, I've always wanted totry sourdough baking.
(37:45):
And the next thing you know, Ihad a pot of sourdough on the on
the counter.
And if anybody else isinterested in sourdough it's so
simple.
But I can put a few recipes inthe podcast notes and in the
chat.
And I just started.
You just put a cup of water anda cup of, I, I'm using
gluten-free flour but a cup ofwater and a cup of whatever
(38:07):
flour that you normally use, andyou just allow it to ferment for
a few days.
And then you start using that inrecipes and you in the place of
like yeast and in biscuits andin breads and muffins and
pancakes and waffles.
And gosh I've made a lot of,I've been experimenting with a
(38:32):
lot of different things and andthe sourdough just really
connected with my constitutionand really helped me to feel so
much better.
Couple of the things just to, ohand just the meditation in
motion like that.
Meditation doesn't always haveto be still.
(38:53):
And that's something that I'vebeen thinking and practicing for
quite a while.
That walking or any outdooractivity can be meditative.
It can be a way to integrate thebody, mind, and spirit.
And so just going through orreviewing the morning routine
was just and seeing if any ofthis makes sense or would apply
(39:15):
to you.
One thing was drinking waterimmediately on waking up and
then doing the neti pot andtongue scrape, being skin
brushing and moisturizing.
And another thing she talkedabout with daily routines is the
importance of waking andsleeping with the sun.
And so they're looking at,waking around six 30 in the
(39:35):
morning and sleeping aroundnine.
And that's much earlier than Iever.
Have gone to sleep.
And I still am not reallysleeping that early, but I am
sleeping earlier than I used to.
And am working toward that.
And one of the things in the pitdosha is that we do tend, we,
because we can get by with lesssleep, we think we're fine.
(39:58):
And yet we actually often needmore sleep.
And if we gave ourselves moresleep, it would be helpful.
And then again, that eating withthe digestive fire, the medium
meal at breakfast, the largestat lunch, the smallest at
supper, and with the meals shetalked about something I found
interesting.
First of all, if you are havingtrouble with your digestion.
(40:22):
Journaling with the followingquestion, what are you having
difficulty digesting?
Because if you're having troubledigesting food, there's probably
an emotion or somethinghappening in your life that
you're having trouble digesting.
And so as I journaled with thatquestion, it showed up just what
I was struggling with and whereI needed and what we have.
(40:45):
We have Reiki, so once yourealize what you're having
difficulty digesting, I was ableto send some Reiki to that and
really allow it to release.
And so I think that also helpedimprove my digestion.
And then she recommended keepinga food journal and I'm no
(41:06):
stranger to food journals.
I think I've been on every kindof diet that exists or pretty
close.
And I've counted calories.
I haven't counted macros.
I will say that I've countedcarbs.
I've done all kinds of things.
What she was talking about wasvery different though with the
food journal.
She said, with the food journal.
She wanted us to recognize thatthere are seven kinds of hunger
(41:29):
and there's eye hunger, which iswhen food looks appealing and
your eye wants, your eyes wantit.
There's nose hunger whensomething really smells good and
it makes your appetite, it mighteven cause your stomach to grow,
but it picks up your appetite.
When we smell something, thatsmell smells amazing.
There's mouth hunger.
Sometimes we crave textures ortastes.
(41:51):
There's stomach hunger, which isactual physical emptiness.
There's cellular hunger, whichis when your body craves
nutrients.
There's mind hunger.
This is around beliefs or rulesaround food, and then there's
heart hunger.
When we have an emotional desirefor comfort food.
(42:12):
And so with our food journal, she simply invited us to write
down what we ate, how we feltafter we ate about it, ate it,
how did it make us feel, andwhat type of hunger were we
eating from?
And I was absolutely shockedthat I was very seldom eating
(42:33):
from stomach hunger.
It was almost always the sixother hungers that were showing
up.
And sometimes even just boredom, emotional hunger, which isn't
that I guess that heart hunger, that emotional desire for
comfort and love.
Like I, I maybe had a difficulttask to tackle and I didn't
wanna tackle it, so I would goget a snack.
(42:53):
And she talked about the factthat so often in our culture, we
almost never get to stomachhunger.
And so by being a little bitmore aware of that and being
aware of, not eat, eating threehours before bed, I just, again,
I cannot get over theinflammation leaving.
(43:17):
So almost completely.
And and just how my digestion isworking.
So those were some of the thingsthat I wanted to to talk with
you about today.
And just some thinking aboutwhat are some of the simple
(43:37):
rituals you might like to add toyour life.
And I, because I'm aware that somany of us who are sensitive
souls struggle with autoimmunedisease or gut health and or gut
health, and I just can't believehow these small, consistent
shifts made such a hugedifference.
Now tonight I didn't have muchat all for supper and I want to
(43:59):
snack, but I'm actually mademyself some cashew milk and I'm
going make some turmeric milkthis evening for my husband and
I.
So I think that's going to belovely.
I also want to talk about justhow Reiki and can help support
our intuition to recognize.
(44:22):
Imbalance that Ayurveda may be apractical solution for you to
help restore alignment, or theremight be another practical
solution.
But whatever it is, that's whatour meditation is going to bring
together for us tonight.
And that when we can put both ofthese together, there is a lot
of harmony and empowerment andwholeness that comes from it.
(44:47):
In closing, and just before wego into our meditation today I
just invite everybody to thinkabout what's one small change
that you might like to try thisweek.
Is there anything at all fromwhat I spoke about, what I
learned around Ayurveda that isspeaking to you?
(45:10):
And also just, ask Reiki.
To empower you and guide you sothat to fully express our, your
authentic self on earth, becauseour authentic self is is
healthy.
Your, and that's one thing thathealthcare Reiki showed us is
(45:31):
that it's when we becomemisaligned from our authentic
selves that we move out of astate of health.
And that's been so interesting.
I see a question in the chat.
Oh, thank you, Roxanne.
(45:51):
I'm glad that you find itinteresting.
And Wanda, you were just askingif I do the dry brushing every
day, almost every day, I have toadmit that like occasionally
there's a day when I'm a littlemore pressed for time.
And when I am press for time, Iseem to do all the other
rituals.
But the dry brushing might getset aside for the next day.
(46:12):
But yeah, I do.
And it's it does seem to be my,your skin.
Our skin is our largest organand any imbalances are often
going to show up in the skin.
And that's, actually I workedwith a few.
You're welcome, Wanda.
I worked with a few animalstoday that imbalances were
showing up in the skin.
(46:33):
And the dry brushing just reallyis lovely for that and helps
support that.
And I'm just wondering ifanybody else has any questions
today before we move into ourmeditation to see what your body
needs.
When I drink water in themorning, is it supposed to be
(46:55):
warm?
Yeah, it is.
Not ice cold, but I have toadmit that I like cool water
better, so I don't drink warmwater.
Like it's, I just, there's noice cubes in it or anything.
So I drink kind of cooler waterfrom the tap is what I'm
drinking.
So it's not.
It's not heated or anything likethat.
(47:17):
It's just not ice cold.
And that seems to be workingreally well with my
constitution.
And it can be, yeah, a roomtemperature, sort of something
like that.
And I have to admit that I'mdrinking it a little cooler than
room temperature'cause I like itbetter that way.
And but with the filter that Iuse at home, it is more room
temperature.
(47:38):
So I will absolutely post theGolden Milk recipe.
And I'll tell you what, if you'dwould like to check the podcast,
I found a really wonderfulsourdough biscuit recipe that.
Is amazing.
And so I, I will, I don't havethat recipe here, but I did
(48:02):
prepare the turmeric milk recipeso that maybe, we'll, maybe
we'll all drink it this eveningtogether.
And and I will put the recipefor the sourdough biscuits in
the podcast notes.
I do the tongue scraping when Ibrush my teeth, which is usually
before I drink the water.
Yeah.
But I think if I think if youmixed those two things up, I,
(48:25):
and did it in the other order,it would be fine.
And that's one of the thingsSeroGene was really key on or
talking about, was just theimportance of doing what works
best for you.
A special brush.
I for the, for skin brushing.
(48:46):
I tried to look up because shetalked about a silk brush, and I
went to a couple of health foodstores and I even looked online
and I could not find a silkbrush.
So I actually just have a brushwith natural bristles and it's
not too soft, not too hard, it'slike Goldilocks and the Three
(49:08):
Bears.
It's right in the middle.
It's right.
It's nice.
And anything I looked up wasjust for skin brushing was a
natural bristled brush and it'ssomething I, like I said, I've
had it for years.
I've done skin brushing likesporadically here and there, but
it does seem to make such a nicedifference when you do it daily
(49:28):
or almost every day.
So I have been enjoying doingthat.
And, yeah, it feels really good.
The turmeric milk and you wouldlike the sour dough info and
your gluten sensitive?
I will say Susan, that I'd heardthat sourdough, even with wheat
(49:49):
is usually okay for most people, but I am more sensitive than
that and I have to dogluten-free sourdough even still
I have tried sourdough withgluten, so try it both ways and
see what you think, becausedefinitely I miss eating actual,
crusty wonderful bread.
(50:10):
I, I miss it.
But the biscuits have comepretty darn close and I'm like,
oh my gosh, that's the firstgluten-free thing that I've
eaten that.
That is Doy in the middle andcrunchy on the outside and just
so good.
'cause I, I so miss crusty breadand I miss croissants.
Croissants, I think.
And that's one of the thingsthat SeroGene that's one of the
(50:31):
main things too, and I forgot tomention that, was just bringing
back the joy of eating because Ihave developed so many rules for
myself as I've been trying tofigure out this digestion.
And it was just so complicated.
And, going to a restaurant withme is ridiculous because,
there's like sometimes one thingon the menu that I am capable of
(50:55):
eating that is not going to putme in pain the next day.
And so I'm just loving.
Feeling really good like this.
I'm loving having a little bitmore freedom.
But one of the things she had usdo was think about, just close
your eyes and do a littleexercise.
What is your favorite food?
What do you love?
And it's croissants for me, likeI didn't do bar none.
(51:18):
And I haven't made it tocroissants yet, but but I these
biscuits are not bad.
They're pretty close.
GT's asking about using aloofah, you could absolutely use
a loofah.
And the other thing she said, you could even just use a
washcloth to do skin brushing, like just a dry washcloth if you
don't have a skin brush.
(51:38):
And that's just enough, just alittle bit of roughness just
rubbing it, quickly over thewhole body.
And so you can look up online, skin brushing rituals.
And there are some that take 15minutes or 20 minutes.
Don't nobody have time for that.
So she was really clear on, shehas two young children and so
(51:58):
she was really clear on makingit work for you.
So yeah, you could totally use aloofah or just a a dry face
cloth.
And Susan says she misses crustybread too.
It's, there's a lot to miss.
And there's a question justabout what turmeric milk does.
So turmeric is anti-inflammatoryespecially, and it just does
(52:18):
have so many properties for ourhealth.
So you've, you may have heard ofgolden milk, like it's but yes,
it's the anti-inflammatorynature of turmeric and just so
many health benefits.
And when you put a little blackpepper with turmeric, it really
helps the body to absorb that.
(52:39):
Oh, thank you, Wanda.
I'm glad that you've enjoyedthis because I just I just, I'm
glowing, I just can't get overfinally my gut feels good after
all of this trying to figure itout.
Finally, there was a simplesolution that existed all along.
Really happy that Reiki andhealthcare Reiki took me through
(53:01):
it.
So thank you for all of yourawesome questions, everybody.
I hope I answered as many ofthem as possible.
But just thinking about thatcroissant, I I gave myself
permission.
That's where the sourdough breadcame in.
I thought that's what I miss.
Like I miss a croissant.
(53:21):
That's something that Iabsolutely loved, and I just,
Reiki showed me well.
Make sourdough bread, and I'vehad it on my list of things to
do.
So in GOT you're wondering if Iuse an alternative milk like
almond milk?
Absolutely you can, but I haveto admit my husband and I have
gotten even more I don't knowthrifty recently.
(53:46):
And we make plant-based milkfrom cashews and
there, there's a couple
of things actually with
sourdough bread, I'm, I am justusing some flowers that I
purchased because I'm inCampobello right now.
And but at home, my husbandactually bought me when I was
first first came back fromvisiting William.
And William makes this breadthat he grinds the wheat and the
(54:09):
rice in his Vitamix.
And I was looking, but it wasquite expensive to get the dry
bowl for your Vitamix.
And my husband got me justonline a little.
Two cup flour grinder, and itdoes an a stainless steel, it
does an absolutely beautifuljob.
So I'm actually grinding my own.
He, and then he makes, mixes upan a beautiful flour recipe for
(54:32):
me with a combination of mungbeans and mill it.
And I love it.
It it's been the closest to likereal flour plus it's a higher
protein content, but the closestto real flour that I've had.
And so I had found some breadrecipes that were palatable, but
these, this the energy said, youmiss croissants, make your
(54:54):
sourdough.
And then it guided me to usechat GPT to look up, Hey, how
could I make this and what aresome other things that I could
make with sourdough?
And so I've been on a crazybaking spree with a my son just
loves the.
The banana chocolate chipmuffins and the only sugar is in
the chocolate chips, the littlemini chocolate chips.
And when I made them withsourdough and the biscuits I'm
(55:18):
making those almost daily.
They just keep getting better.
So it's really fun.
Let's go ahead and go into aguided meditation just to find
the balance within that youneed, whatever that looks like
for you.
(55:38):
So I'm just gonna invite you to.
Activate Reiki now and placeyour hands over your heart or
wherever you feel guided.
Taking a deep breath in and justletting it out slowly, releasing
(55:58):
any tension or stress orbusyness from your day, anything
you need to think about later.
And just take this moment to beabout you and for you.
Let your body settle justwherever you are, noticing the
ground beneath you, the chairbeneath you, supporting you, and
(56:25):
just allowing Reiki to flowflowing into your body, on your
breath surrounding you, justwrapping you in gentle, loving
light.
And just imagine the light ofReiki moving through your crown,
(56:46):
down through your body.
Just scanning your body now forwhat it needs.
Scanning your mind, your spirit, your soul, your emotions, and
just looking for what do youneed to bring balance and
(57:08):
alignment as we allow the energyto touch our mind, calm our
thoughts, move into our heart, easing and releasing our
emotions into our gut, ourcenter of a digestion and
(57:31):
intuition.
Bringing us warmth and comfortand healing, and then being
gentle with yourself.
Ask, where in my life might I beout of balance?
(57:55):
It may be something differentfrom what you saw before.
That area may already beaddressed or there may be
something that would be helpfulto address in front of it.
And just notice when you ask, where in my life am I out of
(58:17):
balance?
Notice that you get a simple, soft, gentle answer.
This is coming from the body, not the mind.
The mind will list 20 things, but your body has an incredible
(58:37):
amount of wisdom andintelligence.
And so we're tapping into that.
Where am I out of balance?
Where am I out of balance?
Where am I out of balance?
(59:06):
And with this in mind, I inviteyou to go into our second
inquiry, which is, what am Ifinding hard to digest
physically, mentally,emotionally, or spiritually?
(59:26):
What am I finding hard to digestand just breathing Reiki into
whatever shows up.
(01:00:11):
And then just invite Reiki in tobring alignment.
And you might even ask yourself, where is Reiki guiding me?
To bring alignment.
And how is Reiki guiding me tobe?
Bring alignment and just notice, just pay attention if there are
(01:00:34):
any specific things, anyspecific guidance.
Where and how are Reiki guidingme to bring alignment?
And Reiki may answer not withwords, but with feelings,
(01:01:11):
images, or a knowing.
Just trust whatever comesallowing the answer.
We invite the wisdom of Reiki,of Ayurveda, or any other
(01:01:31):
spiritual system that you feelaligned with or that is calling
to you.
We invite these spiritualsystems to work together with
Reiki and provide whateverhealing that you need.
(01:01:57):
You might imagine yourselfdrinking fresh water first thing
in the morning, nourishing yourbody, helping your digestion,
your sleep.
You might imagine yourselfrising with the sun eating meals
that honor your body's rhythms.
(01:02:18):
Medium, larger and the smallestat night.
Imagine yourself moving throughyour day with flow and grace and
presence.
Mindfulness, attention, usingthe distance symbol.
(01:02:42):
Imagine that you've implementedthe guidance you've received.
Go forward to your future selfand notice how light and
balanced your body can feel, howpeaceful your mind becomes.
(01:03:05):
I invite you to allow Reiki andAyurveda or any other tradition
that you're guided tointertwine.
Just reminding you that healingdoesn't have to be complicated.
Small loving choices create bigshifts.
(01:03:26):
Let's rest here together for amoment.
Just breathing Reiki into yourbody, your heart, your gut, and
your spirit, and just allowingthe healing energy and the
guidance that comes through toempower you to do we will end
today with William's Prayer.
(01:03:47):
Empower me and guide me to fullyexpress my authentic self on
earth and my authentic self isvibrant, healthy, joyful,
loving, aware.
(01:04:09):
Whenever you feel ready, inviteyou to bring your awareness back
to this moment.
Opening your eyes, bringing thatfeeling, that sense.
Balance and alignment with youinto the rest of your evening
(01:04:31):
and bringing it with you intoyour day tomorrow.
Thank you so much for being herewith me this evening.
Whether you're here live orwhether you are on the listening
to the podcast after, I justwant you to know how much I
appreciate you care about you.
(01:04:55):
Thank you for the light that youare in the world.
Nobody's told you.
I want you to know that you'remaking a huge difference, so
thank you, and it's in the smallthings that we make the biggest
difference.
Take care everyone.
(01:05:15):
Until next time, thank you somuch for being with me, for all
that you do.
Namaste.
