Hiatus Week 1:

Exploring Relationship Diversity – Playlist on Relationship Models, Breaking Societal Norms, and Novogamy

Even while I'm taking some time off, I wanted to continue showing up for you and pursuing my passion, which is to help people break free from societal norms and rethink everything they know about relationships. I truly believe there's a new paradigm for relationships being birthed, one grounded in the concept and foundations of relationship diversity.

So, to keep the conversations alive, I've taken a look back at my two years of episodes and noticed some exciting themes emerging. Each week, during my hiatus, I'll post a specially curated playlist of episodes centered on a specific topic. Then you'll find links to those episodes in the show notes to help you dive deeper into areas that might resonate with where you are in your journey.

Let's continue exploring, growing, and embracing the expansiveness of relationship diversity together.

In this first week of hiatus, I curate a playlist focused on the foundations and exploration of relationship diversity. The playlist features standout episodes covering topics such as definitions of relationship diversity, various relationship structures, the concept of novogamy, and the importance of embracing unique relationship models. Highlights include discussions on societal norms, wounded vs. healed expressions in relationships, and deep dives with experts like Dr. Jorge Ferrer.

Welcome to Hiatus Week 1.
Even while I'm taking some timeoff, I wanted to continue
showing up for you and pursuingmy passion, which is to help
people break free from societalnorms and rethink everything
they know about relationships.
I truly believe there's a newparadigm for relationships being

(00:21):
birthed, one grounded in theconcept and foundations of
relationship diversity.
So, to keep the conversationsalive, I've taken a look back at
my two years of episodes andnoticed some exciting themes
emerging.
Each week during my hiatus,I'll post a specially curated

(00:41):
playlist of episodes centered ona specific topic.
Then you'll find links to thoseepisodes in the show notes to
help you dive deeper into areasthat might resonate with where
you are in your journey.
Let's continue exploring, growing and embracing the
expansiveness of relationshipdiversity together.

(01:03):
This week's focus isrelationship diversity
foundations and exploration.
There are clearly so manyepisodes I could list under this
theme, because that's what thispodcast is about, but here are
some of my favorites.
We'll start with episode one.
What is relationship diversity?

(01:24):
Could it really be the answerto fulfilling intimate
relationships?
In this first episode, you'lllearn more about me and my
history with relationships, andit's a journey with many twists
and turns.
I'll also define relationshipdiversity.
Why this way of relating is soimportant to me and why I think

(01:46):
it may be the new paradigm ofconscious, intentional
relationships.
Next up is episode two, exploring diverse relationship
structures.
In this episode I explore fourbasic intimate relationship
structures as a jumping offpoint for the whole discussion.
These four basic structuresinclude soloamory, monogamy,

(02:10):
open relationships and polyamory.
I also explore the idea oflabels, the positives and the
negatives of these concepts andideas.
The goal is to find, exploreand live into our own unique
identity.
Then next is episode threewounded versus healed expression

(02:31):
in diverse relationships.
In this episode I explore boththe wounded expression and the
healed or true expression witheach of the four basic
relationship structures Againsoloamory, monogamy, open
relationships and polyamory.
I hear from so many peoplestatements like that structure
just doesn't work.
However, when you dive indeeper to look at what's

(02:55):
underneath that statement, youmay find that it's not the
structure that isn't working, but instead it may be where the
person is coming from while inthe structure.
The next one is episode 34, whatdetermines if a relationship is
a success.
So in this episode I look atsocietal views about what

(03:15):
determines whether arelationship is successful or
not.
This is really important tolook at and dive into, because
this idea of a successfulrelationship is very limited in
the current paradigm of intimaterelationships.
So, within the context ofrelationship diversity, the

(03:37):
qualifier of a successfulrelationship becomes am I being
my true self in thisrelationship and am I honoring
my needs and desires whilehonoring my partners?
Like I said, this isfoundational in relooking at our
relational subconscious beliefs.
The next episode in thisplaylist is episode 59,

(04:00):
transcending monogamy andpolyamory a deep dive into
relational freedom with Dr JorgeFerrer.
What if we gave ourselves thefreedom to move beyond the
labels of monogamy and polyamoryand instead focus on the
diverse and complex nature ofrelationships themselves?
In this episode, I engage in anincredibly thought-provoking

(04:24):
conversation with Dr JorgeFerrer, a renowned clinical
psychologist and author whoshares his advocacy for
relational freedom.
We dive into the heart ofrelationship diversity,
challenging the entrenchedbinary thinking and fueling a
discourse that encourages fluididentities and a more

(04:45):
open-minded approach torelationships.
He's coined the term Novogamyas a new paradigm of
relationships that transcend themonogamy polyamory binary, and
I'm going to give a bonusepisode here.
So if you'd like to hear howNovogamy is playing out on a
personal level, then check outepisode 120, living More

(05:07):
Consciously and Wisely in yourRelationships with Waking
Youth's Carlotta Geddesh, whereshe talks about her thoughts on
novogamy and why that termresonated so deeply with her.
Next episode I'm going to tag isepisode 74, a PSA.
You are unique.
Why are you trying to fit yourrelationship into a box?

(05:29):
One of the common themes thathas emerged over the past two
years has been that everyrelationship is as unique as you
are, so encouraging people todesign a relationship structure
most aligned with who they are.
If you've been searching forpermission to be your unique
self in your uniquerelationships, check this one
out.
And finally, to give you anidea of an outside the box

(05:53):
structure, check out episode 109, the Monopoly Relationship
Challenges and Solutions with DrElizabeth Sheff.
Dr Eli demystifies thisstructure where one person wants
monogamy and the other desirespolyamory.
It can work for many people, but it takes education, support

(06:13):
and a continual questioning ofself-judgments and out-of-date
relational beliefs.
That's it.
Happy listening and remember tostay curious.
