Speaker 1 (00:04):
So I'm assuming, if you're listening to this podcast
the bonus episode that youlisten to Wednesday's episode
Sign of the End Times Prophecy, israel and Our Renewed Faith.
So I'm going to assume you'reeither a Christian before you
listen to that episode or youare a Christian now because of

(00:25):
that episode.
Now what?
Well, I'm going to tell you.
One of the women at our churchactually posted this in a
Facebook group about someinsights she got from reading
the book of Colossians Ashton.
It was excellent.

(00:48):
So I've been reflecting on whatit truly means to have a new
life in Christ and what it meansto be a Christian.
Now, while these concepts maybe familiar to many of us, it's
always beneficial to havereminders of the fundamental
principles that guide our faithjourney.
Beneficial to have reminders ofthe fundamental principles that
guide our faith journey.

(01:08):
So here's some insights thatI've gathered from my
reflections so far.
Firstly, we're called to letthe way we live our lives bring
honor to Christ, to please him.
Now, this entails living a lifethat's aligned with the
teachings and example of Jesus.
It means seeking to producegood fruit in our actions and in

(01:29):
our relationships with others.
Now, this requires constantself-reflection and a dedication
to making choices that are inline with our faith.
Now, in addition to that, we'recalled to be active
participants in spreading thewisdom that we receive from
Christ.
We're not meant to keep it toourselves, but rather we're

(01:51):
meant to share it with others, through teachings and warnings,
even Now.
This implies that ourcommitment to Christ is not just
a personal one, but it alsoincludes a responsibility to
nurture the faith of others, tohelp them grow in their
understanding and theirrelationship with God.
Now, on top of that, we'reencouraged to have complete

(02:15):
confidence in God's mysteriousplan, yeah, and to be united in
love with fellow believers.
This means that, even when wecan't fully comprehend or
understand God's ways, that wetrust in His divine wisdom and
surrender control to Him.
We're called to foster a senseof deep unity with other

(02:37):
believers, loving and supportingone another through the highs
and lows of their faith journey, through our faith journey.
That's a big, long way of sayingyou need to find a good church,
but it's important to note thatbeing a Christian also requires
discernment and a resistanceagainst deception.

(02:59):
We're warned against beingeasily swayed by false teachings
or misleading doctrines.
Instead, we're called to havedeep roots in Christ, firmly
grounding ourselves in Histruths and His teachings, and

(03:19):
this calls for a commitment tostudy God's Word, seeking His
wisdom from the Holy Spirit byreading the Bible.
And, additionally, we're calledto rid ourselves of impurities
and to put our new nature inChrist ahead of our earthly
bodies.
Now this involves a continuousprocess of self-examination, of

(03:41):
repentance, acknowledging oursins and striving to live in
accordance with the values andprinciples of our faith.
We are called to be holy.
It's a call to be transformedfrom our old selves into a new
creation in Christ.
Now we're reminded to cultivateseveral virtues in our lives.

(04:04):
We're called to betenderhearted and kind and
humble and gentle and patientand willing to forgive.
These qualities reflect thecharacter of Christ and are
essential in nurturing healthyrelationships and fostering a
loving community, and theyrequire us to be selfless and

(04:27):
understanding and makingallowances for one another's
faults and shortcomings.
Now, as we sit back and look atthese teachings, it's crucial
for each of us to honestlyassess ourselves and honestly
assess our growth in these areas, and honestly assess our growth
in these areas Now.
This self-evaluation allows usto identify areas where we may

(04:49):
be falling short and it providesan opportunity for personal
growth and maturity in the faith, and we can take comfort in
knowing that God is faithful andhe'll guide us on the right
path if we seek him with asincere heart.

(05:13):
I encourage you to read the bookof Colossians.
It provides us with a powerfulreminder of what it truly means
to have a new life in Christ andwhat it means to be a Christian
.
We need to take these teachingsto heart and strive to live in
a way that honors Christ, a waythat produces good fruit and a
way that fosters unity amongbelievers, and I pray that we

(05:36):
rid ourselves of impurities andthat we imitate Christ in our
character and be willing toforgive and make allowances for
one another through honestself-assessment and a commitment
to growing in our faith, andthen we can continue to mature
and deepen our relationship withour Savior.
I want to thank you for tuningin to today's bonus episode.
