Meet Lis Jamia and Eden, talented makeup artists, played a crucial role in Breaking the Barriers Through the Lens, using their skills to empower and uplift participants. Specialising in makeup and hair for weddings, photoshoots, and film, they embraced the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause.
Lis joined the project through her connection with photographer Simon, while Eden, new to Lis’s team, found joy in connecting with participants and hearing their stories. They adapted their techniques to accommodate unique needs, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and beautiful.
For many participants, this was their first makeup experience, and seeing their reactions reinforced the transformative power of beauty. Beyond makeup, Lis and Eden valued the deeper connections formed, challenging stereotypes and celebrating individuality.
Grateful for the experience, they emphasised the power of art and collaboration in breaking down barriers. Their contributions extended beyond appearance, boosting confidence and self-esteem while reinforcing the impact of community and inclusion.
