And before we cover theopposite end of the spectrum.
It is game

(00:45):

Chelsea, are you ready to take alittle spin on the Merrill ground?
Oh, yes.
I don't feel like an icon.
Most of the days I feel like I can't.
That's with an A. Here's the deal.

(01:06):
Trey and I have each picked a rotten, scathing pithy, one star zinger,
and with 30 seconds on the clock,We'll take turns trying to recite the
zinger in as many genres as possible.
Just like Queen MerylStreep, who does it all.
Before the clock runs out!
Woo!
Alright, Chelsea, would youcare to go first, or should I?

(01:26):
I
mean, I feel like I've just done somuch, Try, I think you should go first.
Alright, so, in honor of the theme today,I have a one star zinger from Amazon for,
let me get um, let me doa big inhale for this.
Okay.
Okay.

(01:47):
Duck brand small bubble cushioningwrap for moving and shipping.
175 feet bubble packing wrap forextra protection, packaging, boxes,
and mailers, clear bubble roll movingsupplies, perforated every 12 inches.

(02:08):
It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
So 175 feet bubble wrap.
It is, um, 27.
99. And I have a one starzinger from user UpsideDownSara.
Hilarious.
Okay.

(02:28):
Their subject is useless.
And their zinger is, it'sflimsy and it shreds.
Oh wow.
Okay, try.
I'm gonna strap you into a duckbecause it just feels appropriate.
Um.
Are you ready?
I think I'm ready.
Let's go.

(02:48):
Okay, let's go.
It's uh, flimsy and it shreds.
Auctioneer.
It's flimsy and it shreds.
Soap opera.
It's
flimsy and
it shreds.
Mime.
Rom com.

(03:09):
It's flimsy and it shreds.
Courtroom drama.
It's flimsy and it shreds.
Horror.
Breaking news.
It's flimsy and a shred.
Sorry for peeking out the mic.
Do I give you that?
Sure.
Why not?
Okay.

(03:32):
Nine tray.
Nine.
You got nine.
That's amazing.
All right, Chelsea.
I really have a lot to catch up.
Now your turn.
What have you got?
Alright, so I decided to stay, obviously, in the moving theme, and
I found another moving company calledCal State Moving and Storage on Google.

(03:54):
They only have a 2.
2 overall, yikes.
And this zinger is writtenby Travis G, and it says, hit
and killed the tree infront of my building!
Oof.
Alright, well I'm going tostrap you into one of those, um.
Memoriam plant tree situation things.

(04:17):
Okay.
All right, Chelsea.
Are you ready?
Yes
Opera
diva
True crime doc
hadn't killed the tree infront of my building disc
jockey
Hit and kill the tree infront of my b b b building!

(04:38):
Magic Show.
Hit and kill the tree.
Pfft.
In front of my building.
Yankee.
Hit and kill the treein front of my building!
Lifetime.
Hit and kill the treein front of my building!
Spy.
Hit and kill the treein front of my building.
I'm.
That's all.

(04:58):
Three, six, seven, eight.
You won.
Yay, Trey.
Go Trey.
Good for you.
Well, now that we have sagedthe space with some fun, let's
move into the negativity zone.
Oh my
god.
I'm like in shock alittle bit, but I'm ready.
All right.
All right.
So as I stated in part one, If youhave not watched part one yet, go back.

(05:22):
You can click the link here.
Go back to part one, okay?
We gave you the whole breakdown of our, this company, Royal Moving and Storage.
And um, as I said, this is one of the 2,103 Not currently recommended reviews.

(05:43):
You can always find usat the bottom of Yelp.
It's a little gray, um, boldhyperlink that you can click.
And these are reviews that havebeen scrubbed off the main page.
Removed for one
reason or another.
So
this is Samira A. This is from
December of 2021, alright?

(06:06):
One star review.
Double charged me.
Hella slow movers.
Bad communication.
They took care of my stuffand nothing broke, but the
management itself is pretty bad.
I originally wrote a very generous reviewafter one of the movers asked me to, but

(06:32):
they ended up charging my credit card, which was supposed to be a deposit,
and then they charged me via cash.
So, I was charged over 800for three hours of move time.
When asked for a refund, they gave me a receipt.

(06:52):
But never hit my account,so had to dispute it.
Just watch out for stuff like this.
Very sketch.
Just want money sign, money sign, money sign.
Wouldn't recommend, norwould I ever use again.
My other review was at the plea of themover, since I had a bad experience.

(07:22):
I just quickly I, it doesprovide the previous review,
which is a five star review.
I'm going to read this very fast.
Just used this company for the firsttime after hearing wonderful reviews.
They were able to schedule movers in lessthan 24 hours and did it efficiently.
And the two men, Dimitri andDavid, We're super respectful and
beyond cautious with my stuff.

(07:44):
They communicated every step of the wayand offered more help than I needed.
I really appreciate this company andtheir willingness to help and communicate.
I would use them again and Iwould recommend the two movers who
specifically helped me to others.
Thank you guys for a goodexperience during this time.
I appreciate your service and time.

(08:06):
Thank you.
Weird.
This is a little shady.
I don't know.
I mean, maybe there's areason why this is in there.
Not recommended.
I'm not sure.
Okay.
So I just think it's weird thatthey spoke about being plead by
the mover to write that review.

(08:27):
Like they were coerced becausethey had a bad experience.
What about the experience?
Well, I guess they saidthat they were slow.
I'm just like.
What about the experienceis bad other than the price
thing, which happened after?
So, like, if they had said, like, Ithought I had a good experience, but
then, like, they charged me twice toF them, I would be more understanding.

(08:52):
But, like, you wrote a five star review.
Like, what do you mean you were coerced?
Did they have a gun to your head?
Like, how could theypossibly coerce you to lie?
about the company and then alsolike double down on your lie by, by
recommending these two people by name.
It just, it feels a little bit weirdthat we would have this, this shift.

(09:14):
And it seems like other reviews that we'vehad where like there was one main issue
and then they like threw other things ontop of it, you know, like it's enough of
an issue to say that they double chargedyou, you know, like now I don't believe
you when you say that they were slowor what were the other complaints try.
It says the, um, double charged, slow movers, bad communication.

(09:37):
Um, Well,
the bad communication and, andthe double charge, I think,
can kind of go hand in hand.
So, like, that works, but theslow thing just feels like
it's coming out of nowhere.
Like, I don't think that I wouldgive, give my reviewers five stars
if I felt like they were slow.
Well, it's interesting to me because youcan even when this has been removed and

(09:59):
it's in the not currently recommendedsection, you can see the previous review.
So even though I sped through it, Ithink you really were able to grasp
the fact that they double speak.
Yeah, because when you readthe one star, I believe them.
It comes across as trustworthy to mebecause I think in the way that they say,

(10:19):
like, just watch out for stuff like this.
It's sketch.
It seems like they just want money.
Um, makes me feel like they're takingcare of me and they're protecting me.
But then when you read it to yourpoint, when you read the five star,
and then they're just literally.
saying the opposite.
It's like, okay, so you either lied in thefive star or you're lying in the one star,

(10:39):
right?
Because the way
you're getting to being a liar
to the explicit points, theysay slow, bad communication.
And then they say, That they,uh, were able to schedule the
movers in less than 24 hours.
They were efficient and thatthey were, um, they communicated
every step of the way.

(11:00):
So it's like you are lying,
which is it?
I mean, so I don't think it, wecan't trust which one is right.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, I can't, I just feellike I've been lied to one way or
another and I just don't think thatanyone could coerce you enough.
To make you write that five star review,I just wish that they had been a little

(11:23):
bit more honest and said, listen, I wrotethis five star review, but after being
double charged, how could I stand by that?
That would have been enough.
I will say,
as far as grammar here, like I like justwant money, some money, some money sign
very sketch like it is really casual intone, but it actually doesn't bother me

(11:46):
as I read it because I do feel like Samarais just trying to like be a good one.
There were other reviews thatmentioned being charged the
deposit, but paying in cash.
There are other reviewsthat bring up this issue.
So, I chose this one becauseSamira specifically says, just
watch out for stuff like this.

(12:07):
Because that's sort of the red flag Iwas gathering as I was looking through
one stars and going through the 2000.
Also, the not currently recommended.
That is not just 2001 stars.
There are four starsthat are not recommended.
There are a lot of five starsthat are not recommended.
So it's not like they're hiding.

(12:27):
Are they from a
similar time period?
Like somebody else took over the company?
If you look back at part one, I pointout that in their About the Business,
they use four different company names.
Right.
They have a completely different companyname that is referenced in multiple
reviews as if this was a Yelp page.
For a different companyname at a different time.

(12:50):
Interesting.
I
don't know if they rebranded becausethey say that it's, you know,
25 years of combined experience.
In the
combined experience, I meant tobring that up in the first show.
That's a weird way of phrasing it.
It's a weird way
of phrasing it.
So maybe they asked to remove Do you and I
have a combined year of six, acombined of six years in podcasting?
I think that's probably Uh, smart way tolike right finesse the word edge, but when

(13:16):
you look at the not currently recommended.
It's pulling up for me right now, but,uh, there's a different company name.
Oh, interesting.
Um, some of the responsible movingwas a previous name for the company.
Interesting.
So maybe they wanted to get any ofthem that reference that name off and
that's why there's such a high number.

(13:37):
Yeah.
Or maybe they're like, Ibought this company and like,
I'm not this other person.
Because I will say that, like, in myexperience, which we have this, we don't
usually have this in those reviews.
But they didn't evenask for a credit card.
They just like, they told methis is going to be the price.
If you pay cash, this isgoing to be the price.
If you charge it,

(13:58):
that's right.
That's interesting.
Well, okay.
So back to Samara.
Yes.
You know, I think there is valuable, unique, new information here.
It's not so new when you go through, cause there are other people that
talk about like being double charged.
That would never have even occurred to me.
Um, so that's viable to me.
Spelling grammar is casual, but not, it's like fine.

(14:20):
I think this is common.
I don't know because we haveso many not recommended reviews
and you're saying maybe it'scommon so like maybe it happens.
I mean there are otherreviews that mention this.
Right.
But also it's a little
bit shady so I don't know if I trust.
Well that's correct.
Humor, entertained, I mean, I'm upsetbecause I, I think Ultimately, the impact

(14:41):
for me is I'm just going to disregardSamara because you're lying and I don't
know which one, so I'm just gonna, I'mgonna actually take note that if I do
a deposit, make sure that I'm payingcash and I'm not getting double charged.
But other than that, I'm going totry to do some more due diligence.

(15:02):
That's not you.
Because you're lying somewhere.
I completely agree.
I think you can go into the crowning.
Yeah, let's do it.
The queens
are tabulating.
Time to school.
Oh, interesting.
I'm holding up one crown.
Trey's holding up two and a half.
That's more than I thoughtyou were going to say.

(15:23):
Um, I did one just because I thinkwe really Like got to the crux of the
issue when we said, I don't trust you.
I need to be able to trust my reviewer.
And I don't trust you becauseyou owned up to lying.
And that is like almost ahalf crown, zero crown worthy.
I gave the one crown because.
I'm happy that you gave the noteabout the double billing, and I'm

(15:44):
going to check from like any company.
I'm going to make sure that I do mydue diligence and make sure that I'm
not being charged multiple times.
And I think sometimes thatcan be an oversight and people
get away with shit like that.
Correct.
So I'm really gratefulfor that like reminder.
And that's the one crown, but Ican't trust you, unfortunately.
So just one for me.
Why two and a half?

(16:04):
So I, so I went with two and a half, which sounds high for this reason.
Okay.
Um, I don't want to blame Samara forbeing in the not currently recommended.
I don't want to hold that against herin the show or hold that against them.
Um, the value of like being doublecharged and as a southerner, I recognize

(16:27):
like when someone like, you know, Idon't do this because I have integrity
as a review queen, but when someoneasks for a review, I am sort of like
trying to give it enough detail andfluff that I would just be like.
Like it kind of, in a way, I cansee how you're like, sure, I'll
leave a good review, whatever.
Like they didn't breakanything and whatever.

(16:49):
Communication was great.
It was like, I think they might've justbeen grapping, grasping for things.
Who knows?
We'll never know.
Trust is lost.
But I could see how you justgive a five star and then you
get so livid because they gaveyou a receipt that meant nothing.
And then you're just like, stop, no.
But too many red flagscouldn't depend on it.

(17:10):
That's worth a two and a half.
All right.
What do you guys think?
This was a journey.
I mean, I'm definitely a little perturbedby the abundance of not recommended.
I do wonder if there wasa change in ownership.
It seems that way.
But Chelsea, you used the company.
Loved them.
I used the company.
You recommended them too.

(17:30):
I recommended them also.
Yeah.
So.
I, I, it was also a little bit more thanlike, I thought it was going to be, but
quite frankly, I was saying to Trey.
I had more stuff than I think Ithought I had, so it made sense.
It didn't, it felt like theywere like moving, but I had
different guys, so who knows?
And I know that like we dealwith often on the show, it is

(17:54):
impossible to please everyone.
Yeah.
Um, but there's, there's a, there'sa lot of red flags regardless,
and that's the beauty of Yelp.
Right.
Who do you trust?
The red flags?
Or do you trust your friends?
Right.
At least them had a great experience.
Like.
I don't know.
Yeah.
I mean, I think that TL'sreview was still really strong.

(18:17):
And I think in this example, I'll leaveit with this, look at the reviews that
are most recent, whether that's in therecommended or in the not, because I
think that that will really give youa good idea of where things are at.
Today.
