Welcome To Week 2 of the Road To A BILLION. The only documentation series of a 23-year-old Millionaire going through the day-to-day operations of a business and scaling up to a BILLION.

This episode was recorded for the week of December 12th - 19th, 2022, but isn't being posted until now because I just started up this Podcast channel, so I have to play catch up with uploading the audio files.

In this week's episode, I had to fire one of my workers from HighKey to maintain our elite-level culture. I was super stressed as we were wrapping up a ton of work before the holiday break, and I was featured on Fox & ABC.

I currently run a Public Relations Firm in Puerto Rico called HighKey Enterprises LLC. We recorded just over 5.5 Million on our company's 2021 tax return and are scaling rapidly.

Feel free to subscribe to learn from my failures and watch the journey.

Luke Lintz (00:00):
All right, this is week two of the road to a

(00:03):
billion series. I kind ofskipped out on week because I
was in Whistler, but I'll beincluding that in this recap. I
have a ton of stuff to go overhuge things happened within the
business this week of Heikeenterprises, some things
personally, some mindset shiftssome emotions that I was feeling
throughout the week beingstressed at certain points and
what got me through it duringworkouts and what I did during

(00:26):
those workouts. So yeah, that'sgonna be sick episode. And let's
get right into it. The star thisweek actually was pretty crazy.
Because what happened is rightat the beginning, there was news
that came out that the US mightbe banning Tiktok and a bill was
being passed for it myself andmy entire team know that this is
huge news and a massive newsopportunity. And literally what

(00:49):
we do for our clients is gainthem secured into your one media
placements and TV opportunitiesby finding unique stories,
finding industry leadingstories, finding stuff that's
viral going on, and pitchingthem as industry leaders of that
topic. For example, our team, the topic of the US potentially
being tick tock is seen as hugeviral potential. And so they,

(01:11):
they pitched myself as like anindustry leader in the social
media space and industry leaderin the branding space, and
someone who works directly withcontent creators and tick tock
creators specifically. So theypitched me to a lot of different
outlets, my in house publicist, and IN HOUSE PRESS managers at
high key, what happened is thenext morning when I woke up, I
believe this was either onMonday or Tuesday, but

(01:33):
literally, my email inbox wasflooded with news opportunities.
And I actually missed one, whichis super unfortunate. But I was
interviewed by Forbes shutternews, there was a Yahoo
interview. And then there were acouple of other data specific
interviews because they wantedto go on to the intricacies of
how much data is being collectedby tick tock, which I don't

(01:55):
really know too much about thespecifics of how much data tick
tock is collecting, I just knowthat they collect an absolute
ton because their algorithms areoff the charts and unmatched
compared to any other socialmedia platform, where when
you're creating content, or whenyou're consuming content, and
tick tock, it curates thehomepage and the media being
portrayed completely for exactlywhat you want. And you probably

(02:18):
know this, if you use tick tockat all, is that you can easily
get stuck in a hole because it'sconstant dopamine hits with the
exact type of content you'rewanting to see, after I dealt
with a few hours of the pitchesand answering very thorough
responses back to all of them, they got picked up in the media
really quickly. You can seehere's the Forbes feature of

(02:39):
basically me being interviewedabout the Tick Tock potential
ban my thoughts on it, this wassuper cool. And then if any of
the other interviews have aired,by the time that this video gets
posted, they'll probably be putup right here. But then after
that, that was about a few hoursof the day took a fair amount of
time that I went into, obviouslydeal with our clients and
working with our clients workingwith our fulfillment team. And

(03:01):
we have been absolutely crushingit this week. It was actually a
really good week in terms of thepublicity opportunities that we
got for our clients, getting ourclients interviews, getting our
clients actually featured inpublications. And that's on the
contrary to the popular beliefin the public relations world
that December is the worst timeto pitch for media. And they

(03:23):
think that because Christmastime New Years, maybe a firm's
taking off time. But how I talkabout with my entire team is
that December is actually anamazing month because the same
amount of media is beingpublished. And there's actually
less people pitching to all ofthe writers, all of the
contributors, all of the mediaops like in various industries

(03:44):
and at various platforms. And soit's actually a huge opportunity
in the marketplace to come inand pitch for media. So with
that being said, here's a quickexample like this is our client
Garrett right here probably willpull up a video right now of his
experience with Heike.

Unknown (04:00):
Hey y'all, how's it going? This is Garrett Nolan
here. I'm just here to addressmy recent work with high key
enterprises LLC. They're acompany that has helped me with
my social media careertremendously. Everyone from Ryan
and Lauren, getting me somereally high end articles online.
Just to make my businesses lookmore established and my

(04:21):
credibility as an influencer.
really stand out. And I justwant to say that their services
are of the best that I've comeacross in my career in social
media. So I'm gonna say thankyou very much, Heike, you did so
much for me. So I'm blessed.
Thank you.

Luke Lintz (04:39):
And just looking at my journal right now. I had a
goal of wanting to hit fiveworkouts this week. I ended up
hitting four workouts. What'scrazy, I feel like people can
relate to this in terms of whenyou're growing a business and
putting your 100% into abusiness when you work out and a
problem with being the leaderand being owner of a very

(05:02):
scaling and very fast pacedbusinesses that it's hard to
have an off switch. And that'ssomething that I've dealt with,
it's something I continue todeal with is that the off switch
can't really be there. And itreally sucks. And you have to
train on it. I found meditationto help in the past. And that's
actually one of my upcominggoals, definitely for 2023 is to
get back into meditation becauseit helps me quiet my mind in

(05:24):
terms of I train my mind duringmy work to think and problem
solve as quickly as possible.
But there needs to be thatjuxtaposition of calming down
your mind at some point, orelse, it'll just run into
eternity. And I don't thinkthat's healthy. During those
four workouts this week, Iactually mainly listen to Alex
Hermoza and Leila Hermoza.

(05:45):
YouTube, I've watched everysingle one of those videos up
until this point, I'm going torewatch them practically for the
next five years, at least untilI get up to their level of just
massive respect to them. They'reby far the best content creators
in the business world. OnYouTube, they actually inspired
me to create this YouTubechannel, not for like a
competitive standpoint, I'mpurely doing this just straight

(06:07):
for documentation purposes, because I want to be able to
look back at these vlogs and beable to see what my mindset was
like at certain points and how Icame to certain decisions and
how far I've came because that'swhat I did with our YouTube
channel, Heike Co. And we postedvlogs and stuff when we were
first getting started ourbusiness seven years ago. And it

(06:30):
was really cool to see how farI've come since then the type of
work that I was working on backthen. And so these vlogs will
definitely be evolving over timeand the stuff that I'll be
including with it right now.
It's kind of just a rant ofbasically my week, things that
went on and my thoughts aboutsituations. Next I wanted to get
into a couple of problems that Iran into this week. And yeah,

(06:51):
this was definitely a weekfilled with problems just like
how every single other week iswith running a high level
business. One of the problemswas super annoying, we had the
domain at WWW dot Heike co.comamongst hundreds of other
domains that we own. And thisdomain just happened to be on a

(07:11):
Google Domains account that isin our main domain account. I
didn't have the billing detailsupdated on it. And so it didn't
auto renew the email. Basicallyit put it back up onto the
public registering that somebodyobviously bought it. Yeah, was
super annoying, because weactually do need that email
address for a lot of ourbusiness because it's tied to

(07:31):
like certain crypto exchangesthat we have. It was tied to a
bunch of things that led to abunch of different problems. And
basically, like, I had to figureout a way to repurchase that
domain. And that just taught meabout dealing with the
intricacies of business andmaking sure that you're looking
at all of the little aspectsbecause those little things can

(07:52):
add up easily over time, eventhough it was just the one
problem. Another problem that Iran into is I planned out my
entire weekend. At the end ofthis week, we're heading into
the Christmas season. And so Iwas getting ready to do a lot of
organizational work but a higherlevel tasks finishing off a lot
of stuff that has been on myplate for a bit that I haven't
gotten around to, to doing andthis weekend took a complete

(08:15):
spin of things where I washaving a back and forth with one
of our workers over email. And Istepped into a situation where I
was giving insight on how tobetter communicate, I was
telling a contractor about howto better communicate and
sending videos sending materialof higher level communication.

(08:36):
His responses back were verylackadaisical. They weren't
showing initiative of wanting tomake the changes. But then
conversation came up where itstarted turning into a heated
argument over email. Thisparticular contractor sent me an
email this weekend. That was oneof the most rude emails I

(08:58):
received in my entire eightyears of business and it really
threw me off. I'm somebody whotakes pride in going the extra
mile for every single one of ourclients and going the extra mile
for every single person whoworks at high key I will
continue to do that. It's one ofmy downfalls that I treat high
key so personally where anythingthat happens within the business

(09:21):
I kind of take personally it'sreally hard when a worker says
something so harsh when I'vegone so far out of my way. And
it just crossed the line in somany different ways. And it was
right before bed so I had theopportunity to sleep on it. I
didn't make a rash decision interms of sending a strongly
worded email back and I slept onit woke up the next morning

(09:44):
realized it was 100% the rightdecision after bouncing the idea
off of a couple of workers andmy business partners, aka my
brothers and figuring out thatwas definitely the right reason
to right call to fire thisperson and so immediately This
person was exited off the team,I took out ways access across
all of the platforms that wehave told the clients that he

(10:05):
was working with that he wasgoing on extended holiday, and
transitioning them to a newmanager. This shows a bunch of
different things. So one, I wastrying not to get my ego
involved and trying to makerational decision to which
showed me that even though youhave things planned out, for
example, planned things out fora weekend, you always have to be
available and willing to be 100%flexible, if you're going to be

(10:28):
in business, because there's newthings that rise every single
day. And you have to handlethings in Priority sequence as
they arise. I'm not sure whotold me this, but was like the
one touch policy, I loved it,where it basically when
something comes onto your plate, you should really try and like
one touch it where it basicallyit comes onto your plate, and
you finish it immediately rightthen instead of thinking about

(10:48):
it, writing it down, and thennot finishing it, writing it
down the next day, not finishingit, write it down again, if you
just get done right then andthere, when it comes onto your
plate, it's the most likely toget done right then and there.
And it's with a fresh mind. Iwanted to go into mindset a bit
from this week and some of mytakeaways. And what I think
that's been happening is ourbusiness is expanding. So

(11:12):
rapidly onboarding new talent, working on an immense amount of
new clients, new clients, orbringing in referrals. And
there's so many different areasof our business that are new, if
I look back, say just even ayear ago that are new and
completely different, what Ihappen to see in my mind is that
it can get very distractedsometimes and start thinking

(11:34):
about so many different thingsall at once. And it can be a
huge problem. Because eventhough I'm getting work done, I
might not be getting the mosteffective work done at times
because I'm constantly hoppingbetween tasks. And I think that
this is prevalent between a lotof people in society with the
average American's attentionspan is like less than a

(11:56):
goldfish. It's definitely anaspect of social media, having
those instantaneous dopaminehits, and just getting you to
scroll your attention span beingas much as the video in front of
you is entertaining. And I thinkit's training the mind in a
very, very poor way. And I couldsee it in myself. Even though I
don't consume that much socialmedia content, practically the

(12:16):
only social media content that Iconsume is the stuff that my
social media team sends to meand stuff that team members sent
to me to basically learn moreabout those specific platforms
for the business. It's reallyjust a complete business tool.
For me, even with myself with itbeing a complete business tool,
I noticed and I can catch myselfthat I have disruptive thought
patterns that even when I'm inmy deepest focus work, I can see

(12:40):
myself getting distracted ontoother topics. It's just
interesting. And I just wantedto note that for the future,
because I think that this isgoing to always heavily improve
because I'm conscious about it.
Going into the end of the week,we had a pretty crazy end to the
week. It was awesome. I was inSan Diego, I was lucky enough to

(13:02):
set up interviews at ABC andFox. And what's up guys, this is
Luke Lindstrom Heikeenterprises. Today, we are at 10
News, ABC doing a TV interview.
And this is a goodrepresentation of what we do for
our clients. We get themfeatured in top ranking
publications, tier one media, tier one coverage over over
different platforms, differentTV placements. And what it does

(13:24):
is expose your brand todifferent markets get you
ranking right up top of Google, which is exactly what you want.
And it builds trust with yourcommunity. So that's what we're
doing today. And this what we dofor our clients, both those CB
networks are awesome TVnetworks. I appreciate them so
much for having me oninterviewing me about social
media, about highkey enterprisesabout public relations. If those

(13:46):
videos are finished, or like atleast we have some behind the
scenes clips, I will put them uphere. Hopefully they're
finished. I can put up in one ofthe interviews. So like part of
the interviews just up here sothat it can be fit into this
video. But yeah, they were greatinterviews. It was awesome,
great cap to the week. I wassuper nervous for them. Even
though I've been on a lot of TVinterviews, been interviewed by

(14:08):
a lot of tier one publications.
I was actually never on set at aTV station because I just
started getting rapidlyinterviewed by TV placements
publications all the above, during COVID and past COVID. And
so I never really got theopportunity to be on set. It
just so happened that I was inSan Diego when that happened. So

(14:30):
it was a perfect fit. And yeah, turned out amazing. This is Luke
mints here CEO of Heikeenterprise, someone said Fox
five right now just did crazyinterview about social media
trends about the modern daypublic relations and the
publicity that businessesdeserve. Going into 2023 How
complicated social media is andhow most businesses should be

(14:54):
hiring outsource for a socialmedia company to help take over
their presence and take it tonew bubbles in the new year. But
you're interested in publicrelations at all interested in
ranking at the top of Google?
What's your one media coverage, just send us a DM. Quick Link
below, send us a DM. And we'lltalk about more details. And
that's pretty much wrapped tothings wrapped to the second

(15:17):
week of row to a billion thisseries is super fun. For me,
it's super motivating. I've hadthese goals and these
aspirations in my mind and in myjournals for a very, very long
time. And it's just cool to bedocumenting the process now on
video. But one final thought inone of Alex or Moses videos that

(15:38):
I watched have something a quotethat really stuck with me is
that your failures are only asbad as you make them. This is
like a rough representation ofhis quote. But the failure isn't
actually that bad if you look atit from bird's eye view. And
it's really just the connotationthat you put on that failure.

(15:59):
And that you think about foryourself that really stuck with
me because I reflected on a lotof my failures over the past
bit. And like if I'm looking atthe past, like six months, and
they actually weren't that badof failures, even though I
punished myself in my mind beinglike, why'd you make that? Or do
you make that mistake when it'sliterally all part of the game,
all part being human, all partof the business, just having

(16:22):
that in my mind constantly, because failures come up on a
daily basis on a weekly basis, some bigger, some smaller, and
just having that mindset ishuge. Well, thanks if you watch
this full video, don't reallyexpect anybody to watch watch
this video at all. But lookingforward to looking back on this
at the Billy level and seeinghow far I've come cool this week

(16:43):
to grow to a billion peace
