Kyle Hart never expected to be pulled from the parking lot into a podcast recording, but as he explains in this powerful episode, following the Holy Spirit's prompting often leads to unexpected divine appointments.

With disarming honesty, Kyle shares the foundational moment of his faith journey—when, as a five-year-old plagued by fears of death, his grandfather's simple yet profound response changed everything: "I'm not afraid to die. I know where I'm going and I've lived a good life." This early introduction to resurrection power remained with him through subsequent decades, though its full significance wouldn't crystallize until years later.

The conversation takes a fascinating turn as Kyle unpacks his understanding of the Holy Spirit—that "gut feeling" many believers have experienced but might not recognize. "I've been trying to block that for the last 15 years," he admits, reflecting on how his professional training had conditioned him to ignore spiritual promptings. His explanation of our tripartite nature—spirit, soul, and body—provides listeners with practical insights into how God communicates with us and how we can respond.

Perhaps most compelling is Kyle's vulnerable reflection on spiritual maturity. Through recent conversations with mentors, he's come to understand that true spirituality isn't measured by knowledge or even ministry involvement, but by inner peace, compassionate awareness, and purposeful growth. His realization that "if you're not walking in peace, then you're not yoked to the Prince of Peace" serves as a powerful barometer for authentic faith.

For anyone feeling lost or hopeless, Kyle's advice cuts straight to the heart: "Run to Jesus. Wherever you think you've seen him, might have seen him, believe he might be." Take that first step—pick up the Bible, find a Christ-centered church, join a small group. The Prince of Peace is waiting to meet you exactly where you are.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Road to Redemption, a show sharing
powerful life testimonies, giving hope to those on their
own road to redemption.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Welcome to Road to Redemption.
This is John Martin, your host.
We're so excited.
We've got a great guest today,my friend Kyle Hart.
Kyle, how you doing.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I'm so well, I'm glad to be here with you and man.
I decided to break into it.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Well, I just grabbed you out of the parking lot today
.
Let's, let's be honest.
I was like you know, hey, we,we, we got to get, get, get a
great show.
And we saw you out in theparking lot and I said this guy,
I've been wanting to talk toKyle for a long time.
I know you're a man of God, Iknow you've got a great, great

(00:52):
story.
It's going to help a lot ofpeople.
That's the whole purpose ofthis show is to reach the lost
and give hope to people outthere.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
So, Kyle, tell us a little bit about you, so I'll
start with who I am, and part ofthat is desperately seeking to
be where God is and do what he'sdoing.
I was in the parking lot and Isaw you and I felt like we were
going to have a conversation.
And then I went to leave and Iwas so stirred that I turned

(01:21):
back into the parking lot, parked right where I was
expecting to talk to you, andthen you came over and the Holy
Spirit said get out of the car.
And I expected we were going tohave an interesting
conversation, like one of thefirst conversations we had.
And we are having aninteresting conversation like
one of our first.

(01:42):
A friend of mine and I was withhim yesterday.
He's a mentor in my life, butwe were at a men's meetup and he
and I and you prayed together.
And then it was a few weekslater that you and I prayed
again and I heard a man's nameand that name was significant to

(02:03):
you.
And this is just another one ofthose kind of events.
Oh, wow, I see us all in thisHoly Spirit river kind of moving
together and we bump into eachother, but we're all going
forward and this seems to beanother one of those kind of
events.
I want to be where Holy Spiritis and with what Holy Spirit's

(02:24):
doing.
And again it seems like we'redoing that right now and I
praise God.
I'm blown away.
I was telling you and Neil whenwe came in here just how good
are you?
I was so convicted to turn backin.
Cool, I was a moment away frommissing this opportunity, not
that it just to see God.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And Kyle.
I'll tell everyone to listen alittle bit.
When I first met Kyle I'm inreal estate is what I do for my
business and I was asking Kylewhat he did and he said you know
I have a title company thatcloses transactions real estate
transactions and I said what'sit called?

(03:03):
He said Bright Light Land Titleand I said wow, that's really
bold to you know, you're puttingyour faith out there, which I
love.
Tell us a little bit about youand how did you come to know
Jesus?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
know Jesus.
I knew about Jesus as a smallchild and was introduced to him
through the Catholic faith, butreally through my mother and
father initially mostly my dadand then I had a dramatic thing
happen at age five where not togo too deep into it, but my
grandfather who's sort of beenthe bedrock of my faith, and I

(03:52):
didn't know it at the time atfive, but I caught him praying
and I was very concerned aboutdying at this time.
I had brought these concerns toa coach who was driving me home
from practice and I said youknow, mr So-and-so.
I said are you afraid to die?
And I could see on his face, even at five, like he did not
want to have this conversationwith me and he said, oh, you

(04:15):
don't need to worry about dying, you're young.
And then the weekend came and Iwas at my grandfather's house
and I came with my grandfathermy grandfather's Polish and so
I'm half Polish and I said tohim Jadu, are you afraid to die?
And he paused and I didn't knowthis at five, but as I reflect
on it now, he was thinking aboutwhat to say to me and if he's

(04:38):
anything like I am now, he wassaying God, what do?
I say to this boy when are you, lord, what are you doing?
And he said to me I'm notafraid to die, I know where I'm
going and I've lived a good life.
And then he invited me to praywith him.
And so we got down on our kneeswhere he was praying by his

(05:01):
bedside and we said the OurFather.
And I didn't know back then atfive, though I knew the Our
Father, growing up Catholic thatthat was such a bedrock thing
to give me.
I'm afraid of death.
And he introduced me toresurrection power.
That's awesome.

(05:22):
And for years, as I workedthrough the, the faith, I would
have these dreams of rebuildingmy grandfather's house.
And it wasn't the house that helived in, he had a second home,
which is, you know, if youthink about that symbolically,
it's pretty.
You know we get caught upbuilding right here on earth,
but we're really doing isstoring up in heaven.

(05:43):
And so in the dream I'm alwaystearing down his home and it's
down to the foundation.
And when I had started doingsome men's ministry at my office
, bright light lands, idol, acatholic missionary of all
people, came through and in myoffice, like nine different
houses of worship come, uh,every once a week and we gather,
we break into the, we praise,we worship and we go deeper into

(06:06):
the word which is Jesus Christ.
But years ago, when I firststarted, a Catholic missionary
came and I told him therecurring dream.
I was like I don't know if Ibelieve.
I don't know if I believe indream interpretation, this, that
and the other thing, but I keephaving this dream and I can't
get away from it.
I'm rebuilding my grandfather'shouse and it's down to the
foundation.
He says it's down to the rock.

(06:26):
What do you think thatfoundation is?
It's faith in Jesus Christ.
And so that's sort of me comingto faith.
We just don't realize the powerof those before us who are
praying for us.
And also, there's something inthe blood.
When you decide you're abeliever in Jesus Christ,
there's something in the blood.
When you decide you're abeliever in Jesus Christ,
there's something in that blood.

(06:47):
That covers your legacy and yourlineage.
That I don't fully understand,but I'm grateful for.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Amen.
Wow, well, that's great.
I know you're bold about yourfaith.
You pray for people, youencourage people, you encourage
people.
You know we were talking aboutthe Holy Spirit a minute ago,
how he kind of brought this showtogether today.
But a lot of people out theredon't really even know what the
Holy Spirit is.
I mean, this show reaches a lotof folks that you know just

(07:22):
aren't sure, feeling lost,without hope.
Talk to anybody out there thatdoesn't really maybe believe in
a God or what is the Holy Spirit?

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, that was the biggest thing that changed my
faith.
And when I found out thatthat's Holy Spirit, I remember
the moment of sitting here atDestiny Worship Center years ago
, up in the bleachers, listeningto Pastor Steve, and he said
you know that little gut feelingand you know different theology
, but it's not a gut feeling.
Well, it starts with it'shitting your core and that's the

(07:56):
Holy Spirit hitting your spirit.
Not to get too complicated, butwe are a spirit, a soul and a
body.
I think it's 1 Thessalonians 5,verse 23.
And there's three parts to you.
Your soul is your heart, that'sthe things you love.
It's also your mind, it's thethings you think about.

(08:18):
And your heart and your mind isa part of your will, which is
your decision-making.
So your spirit, your soul andyour body, and those things
within your soul that I justmentioned your heart, your mind
and your decision-making theymove what you do Now.
A soul turned over to thethings of the spirit is going to
align with the will of God.

(08:38):
A soul turned away from thethings of the spirit is going to
live its own life and build itsown kingdom.
I remember sitting there andPastor Steve said that gut
feeling is this Holy Spirittrying to reach you and at this
point you know I'm almost 30years old 15 years ago and I'm

(09:00):
thinking that's the Holy Spirit.
I've been trying to block thatfor the last 15 years.
All my education, all mytraining as an engineer, as a
guy in the military, then as alawyer I'm like I've been doing
all I can to have.
These are the things I shouldlove, these are the things I
should think about.
These are my decisions.
All influenced by people andpushing out God.

(09:20):
Or you don't even realize it.
Sometimes it's not people thatare influencing you.
We pushing out God, or youdon't even realize it.
Sometimes it's not people thatare influencing you.
We wrestle not against fleshand blood, it's a real enemy
that wants to get you to turnaway from God.
And so when Pastor Steve saidthat, I was like and that was it
, so I started going to men'sgroups and there'd be this thing
at like the center of mass ofmy body that would be like this
is, this is for you, and Istarted calling it a gut feeling

(09:44):
.
But the more that I turned mysoul over to the Spirit, I can
walk into a room and I can feelheaven moving.
It's not just a little gutfeeling anymore, it's a whoa.
The presence of heaven is hereand that can be the angelic,
that can be the power of God forhealing, that can be a word of
knowledge for prophecy, it canbe a bunch of different things,

(10:07):
but with every bit of your soulthat you give to God, he uses it
.
Pastor Steve, a couple weeks ago, was talking about Genesis 1,
the very beginning.
If you want to go anywhere, start at Genesis 1.
God's there, the father, andthen holy spirit hovers over the
deep and the dark and peoplejust think that's like the
nothingness of the universe.
That's your soul too, the deep, dark recesses of your soul.

(10:31):
And it says the holy spirithovers and a word for that can
be incubate.
He's ready, he's ready tointroduce you to the father.
And then what comes after afterthat?
What comes after that?
Genesis 1, 3, the light, theresurrection, power of Jesus.
And going back to, how did Icome to God?
Growing up Catholic and this isnot a knock on Catholic I do

(10:51):
life with Catholics.
My primary men's group I dowith a Catholic which is God's,
got a sense of humor, and so wework that out.
They're spirit-filled Catholicsand I love them.
I do too, yeah, but one of thethings that I was frustrated
with was I felt like that waskind of taken away from me.

(11:12):
Who the Holy Spirit was.
Another thing I thought growingup the way I grew up and this
is just how I grew up and how Icame to understand it in my
upbringing what do I need JesusChrist for?
I'll just go to the Father.
So now I don't have faith inJesus the way I ought to.
I didn't have a relationshipwith Holy Spirit at all and I'm
just trying to commute with AbbaFather, like everybody in the

(11:33):
Old Testament and missing it,and so coming here gave me an
understanding of one.
I remember my first time cominghere, pastor Steve was teaching
Easter message.
I brought my wife to a Catholicservice the year before when we
were dating, and then shebrought me here the next year
and at the Catholic service I'mmessing with her.

(11:54):
I'm like they're going to knowyou're not Catholic.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
You don't know when to stand.
You don't know when we eat yeah, that's fine.
You don't know when we break.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
And she comes in.
It was an old Catholic churchin New Orleans and the next year
I come here and when you comehere sometimes they'll bring you
to the front row, so I hadn'tbeen here before.
For whatever reason, my wifedecides to let them lead us.
So we go up to the front rowand Pastor Steve's preaching the
Easter message what acoincidence.
We're right about coming intoEaster.

(12:23):
And he stood up on the platformand he said Jesus Christ's arms
were spread out for you, hedied for you.
And that was the first moment.
I'm not that young, I'm in my20s.
I knew who Jesus was and I knewthe Trinity we talk about the
Father, son, the Holy Spirit butI didn't really appreciate he's
God.
And he got up there and he diedfor me.

(12:45):
And I'm seeing Pastor Steveexplain this and his hands are
stretched out and suddenly I seethe face of Jesus and it looks
up and say I'm up here for you.
And I just started weeping, just weeping.
Some people say that the firstsign of baptism of the Holy
Spirit is praying in tongues.
I don't know.
Some people may not know whatthat's about, but I think it's

(13:07):
tears.
I heard a man say it to me afew weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
It's tears and I got wrecked right there in the
chapel hey, man, that's so great, yeah, wow.
Well, folks, we're visitingwith Kyle Hart and we just got
Kyle out of the parking lottoday.
And we just got Kyle out of theparking lot today.
We were looking for doing a newshow and we were, like man,

(13:31):
been wanting to talk to Kyle fora while.
So, so awesome that you were, you let the Holy Spirit lead and
that's what we said.
This is a Holy Spirit drivenshow, kyle, what you always have
such a bright light in you.
I love that you named yourcompany, that You're always so

(13:52):
positive, full of joy.
Have you been through anytrials or anything you can talk
about you've been through, andhow has God been there?

Speaker 3 (14:02):
to bring you through.
It's funny.
I'll just speak about trialsright now.
I could go back, but I told you, speaking of one of the mentors
in my life, who you and I andhe prayed together.
One of the first times wereally got to know each other.
I knew of you, but we didn't.
We came before the Father.

(14:23):
There we got together, weprayed and heaven moved.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
And that was awesome.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
And he was there that night with us.
Well, I was with him yesterdayon a walk and he was talking to
me about some things in my ownlife and sometimes, you know, I
think I've come to a place ofspiritual maturity only to find
out like there's some big thingsmissing.
And he was talking aboutfoundational pieces needing to

(14:51):
kind of go into place.
And he said if you're notwalking in peace, then you're
not yoked to the Prince of Peace.
You're not yoked to the Princeof Peace and as I'm going
through some things with thetitle company over the years

(15:15):
I've been in the title companyfor over nine years now, but my
wife we started it the yearbefore that, while I was still
in law school.
I started doing really doingmen's ministry about four years
ago and then I just opened a lawoffice to partner with the
title company a year ago.
So I'm going through trials ofgetting those things going again

(15:39):
and it's exposing, becausethings are challenging.
One, the title company and thereal estate business has been a
tough couple of years.
So when things get tough, itexposes who you are.
Am I staying in peace?
Men's ministry is always youknow, who are you doing it for?
A man yesterday was telling mehey, if there's too many I

(15:59):
statements, the wrong person'sleading, too many I statements,
the wrong person's leading.
And then, with the law office,I have some tendencies in my own
life to be a bit of aperfectionist Just my
personality, style and thingsthat motivate and engage me,
I'll make sure it's just rightand I want to be an expert and

(16:20):
then I'll go forward.
When you're starting something, sometimes you just got to go
with the little dinghy that yougot and the motor you got and
get out there and begin thejourney.
And though I've begun thejourney, I keep swinging back to
the shore and I think theLord's speaking to me about
getting out there.
And so just to kind of addressthe challenge I'm having right

(16:42):
now in my faith is Am Ispiritually mature?
And I think that spiritualmaturity and talking to my
mentor yesterday a little bitabout this, one of my mentors
was I was like man, maybe Idon't understand spiritual
maturity, and that reallygrabbed me and so I looked it up

(17:03):
and it's inner peace, compassionate awareness and
purposeful growth.
And so spiritual maturity, being inner peace, is
cultivating a deep sense of calmand balance, regardless of
external circumstances.
Compassionate awareness isliving with empathy and

(17:23):
understanding toward others, guided by a sense of
interconnectedness, and thenpurposeful growth, continuously
seeking personal and moraldevelopment, reflection and
alignment with your core values.
For us who believe in JesusChrist, that is the core value
Love God, love neighbor.

(17:43):
And though I felt good about allthose other things, I realized
I was missing this foundationalpiece of inner peace, which
Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
So if I'm yoked to him, nomatter what the problems are in
my business, what I considerministering to the Lord or
starting this law office, Ishould be in peace.

(18:05):
Whether I'm in traffic, whetherI'm here speaking to you,
whether I'm on my way to work.
After this, with a client, witha customer, with a man or a
woman seeking the Lord, am Istaying in peace?
And it can be a real challenge.
Sometimes people are exposed toyou.
You're missing somefoundational block that makes

(18:28):
you who you're supposed to be asa child of God.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Wow, amen.
Folks we're visiting with KyleHart having a great, great
conversation.
Kyle, a lot of people in theworld today are not in peace.
Not in peace, most peoplearen't.

(18:58):
There's a lot of stress andanxiety and people looking for
hope.
What advice do you have foranyone listening that needs hope
, that doesn't know this Jesusis skeptical.
Maybe they've been burned.
Maybe they were in church andwere burned by religion or had a
bad experience with the churchor ministry.
Anything you could say to themthat are seeking hope today?

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Run to Jesus Wherever you think you've seen him might
have seen him, believe he mightbe.
Sometimes it's just recognizingfaith in Jesus Christ on
somebody else and getting nearthat.
Because when we sharetestimonies of what Jesus did in
our lives, that is the spiritof prophecy, it's coming into

(19:48):
believing.
If faith in Christ Jesus did inour lives, that is the spirit
of prophecy, it's coming intobelieving.
If faith in Christ Jesus didthat for that person, well then
he can do it for me.
God's no respecter of persons.
If he did it for them, if Ibelieve in him, he'll do it unto
me.
And coming to believe in JesusChrist, that's the beginning of

(20:12):
an infilling of the Holy Spirit.
When you recognize that that'scoming into salvation, Holy
Spirit comes into that and willbegin to do a work in you.
And when the Holy Spirit beginsto do a work in you and that's
purifying the things you love, the things you think about, the
things you make decisions upon, you become a lot more like

(20:34):
Christ.
And when you're more likeChrist, peace comes in.
He says my burden is easy, myyoke is light.
If you're looking for innerpeace, there's only one way to
the Prince of Peace, and I thinka lot of us have heard this
from Dave Ramsey.
It's through Jesus Christ, there's only one way to peace,
he says, and that's through thePrince of Peace.
So if you think you saw himsomewhere, chase after him.

(20:59):
He's got a funny way of showingup.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
That's great, kyle, and that kind of leads into our
three key pillars of Road toRedemption is we say first, pick
up the word of God, the HolyBible, which is right there on
your phone.
If you have a phone, you canpull up the Holy Bible app and

(21:24):
just start reading.
Just start reading somescriptures.
He will speak to you.
He will start speaking to youright now, where you're at.
Pick up the Bible, pick up apaper Bible, any Bible, and just
start reading a little bit ofthat to get started.
And then we say get into aChrist-centered church.

(21:45):
Just go and start going to achurch and just show up.
We promise it'll bless you, especially here we're in the
Easter season right now.
Just go where the Holy Spiritwill lead you to the right
church and just go and wepromise you it'll change your

(22:11):
life.
And the last important thing todo is get into a small group
within your church, a men'sgroup or a women's group, or it
could be a marriage group.
They have all kinds of groupswhere you can do life, make
yourself vulnerable to otherpeople about what you're going
through, and we promise that Godwill show up in those small

(22:35):
groups and just transform yourlife.
So if you can just take thosesteps today and you can invite
Lord Jesus into your heart rightnow and we'll just pray for you
right now as we end, lord, wejust pray, heavenly Father,
anyone that's listening thatthey can invite you into their

(22:59):
heart right now, you can justsay Lord Jesus, I make you my
Savior and my Lord, I give mylife to you today In Jesus' name
.
It's that simple.
And Lord Jesus will come intoyour heart.
Amen, amen.
Kyle, did you want to pray?
Did you have?

(23:20):
Before we go?

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Yeah, I love to pray.
Wow, father God, I just thankyou for this time.
I just thank you for whatyou're doing in the earth.
There's never been a time likethis.
You are drawing your peoplenear in a new and a fun way and
it's unbelievable to us.
I mean, how could it be fun?
But you're just that good andyou're that loving and if we

(23:46):
seek you we will find you.
If we draw near to you, youdraw near to us.
I just pray that any of thoselistening would be encouraged.
Draw near to God, seek him, knock and you will find the door
will be answered.
Jesus Christ is the gate.

(24:07):
Come on in.
In the name of our King Jesus.
We pray amen thank you, kylethat was awesome.

Speaker 1 (24:18):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
