What happens when someone truly goes "all in" with God? Travis Kring's return to Road to Redemption unveils the extraordinary transformation that unfolds when complete surrender meets divine grace.

Travis takes us back to that pivotal moment on a West Palm Beach shoreline in April 2021. Having lost his marriage, children, career, and hometown, he stood at life's crossroads facing a divine ultimatum: "Is this flesh day? Is this all about yourself or is this about me?" His decision to fully commit sparked a redemption journey that continues to accelerate with each passing day.

The conversation vibrates with authentic passion as Travis shares how his newfound boldness manifests in unexpected places. What began as two friends praying quietly by a gym water fountain has exploded into a daily gathering of 25+ people openly praying in a secular fitness center. This "ministry field" perfectly illustrates Travis's philosophy of spiritual offense rather than defense: "The devil's on full speed every day to attack us...we want to fight him back with scripture, with passion, putting people together."

Perhaps most powerful is Travis's raw honesty about isolation's dangers and community's healing power. "Isolation is where the devil takes us to die," he shares, contrasting this with the life-giving connections formed in men's groups where vulnerability and accountability flourish. His encounter with Dallas Jenkins (creator of The Chosen) reinforces his core message: listen intently when the Holy Spirit speaks and obey immediately, regardless how small the prompting.

Ready to move from being a fan to a follower of Christ? Travis's testimony offers both inspiration and practical pathways forward. His contagious enthusiasm for scripture reading, church attendance, and small group participation provides a roadmap for anyone seeking the "joy unspeakable" he's discovered through complete surrender to God.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Road to Redemption, a show sharing
powerful life testimonies, giving hope to those on their
own road to redemption.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Well, welcome.
This is John Martin, your host.
We're back on Road toRedemption and I'm so excited to
have my good friend, travisKring with me today.
Travis brother, how you doing,john?
I'm doing so good.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
God's good me today, Travis brother, how you doing?
John, I'm doing so good, God'sgood.
Let me tell you I'm very gladto be here and be back in this
environment to share where Godhas taken my life, what he's
done in such a mighty way, andalso just to let you know how
impactful this.
I'm so thankful for you becausethis ministry is so impactful.

(00:43):
I get people often stop me andask me about they heard the road
to redemption.
They they know what theministry does.
They hear about the testimoniesthat you do weekly and it's
such an impactful ministry soI'm thankful, very grateful, to
be a part of it again today.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Thank you.
Well, you were on the show.
I was looking back in ourrecords earlier back in January
of 2024, and it was one of ourbest shows, really blessed a lot
of people.
And you gave your testimony.
I think it was with Colby.
Give us just an overview ofthat testimony.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah, that was awesome.
You know that testimony.
Yeah, that was awesome becausethat was the first I spoke at a
men's barbecue soon after that, but that was the first time I
got to really share passionatelywith a to kind of an audience
or a group, the radicalexperience that I had gone
through with the King.
And that was April 6th 2021,when God really got a hold of my

(01:42):
heart.
It was a.
There was a clear fork in theroad in my life.
I was on the beach in West PalmBeach, florida, and I remember
it.
There was a powerful impressionon my heart like, travis, this
is your day.
What are you going to do?
You're going to serve me,you're going to serve yourself.
Is this flesh day?
Is this all about yourself oris this all about me?
And I just decided I had losteverything.
So having everything taken fromme is humbling.

(02:03):
Had lost my marriage, had lostmy sons, lost my job, had moved
from Nashville, tennessee.
So at that moment, god reallygot a hold of my heart and said
let's start over, let's commit, stop being a fan of me and be a
follower of me, travis.
So that was the day.
And then got introduced toColby, got introduced to you.
So in January it was beautifulto kind of share what God had

(02:24):
done from April 2021 to Januaryof 2022.
That's about an eight, ninemonth period there what God had
done, and then it's so excitingto say and to share what he's
done since.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Because I've seen just how on fire you are for God
and seeing others just blessedand I mean it comes off of you
you can see the presence of God.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
People ask me what do I do?
I go to these events for work.
People ask me, what do I do?
I say, well, I'm in full-timeministry.
Oh, so they think I work for achurch and I don't.
I sell restoration.
I sell water damage and firedamage and mold issues for a
godly company.
But I'm in full-time ministrybecause I need to be a light, I
need to be a vessel 24 hours aday.

(03:12):
And how radical.
God rescued me from a life ofsin, a life of depression, of
depth of loss, of suffering, ofnothing, to where he has me
today.
It's become everything that Ido.
We talk about this in our groupfaith, family fitness, finances.
It's a passion.

(03:33):
It is a passion to put faithfirst, to really lead, show
people in a real, true, transparent way what God can do
in your life.
When you decide to commit yourlife to him, it's challenging
because you got to go all in.
When you go all in, when youreally trust and believe what
God can do, radical changes andmiracles and a level of peace in
your life that truly it talksin scripture about, a peace that

(03:55):
surpasses all understanding.
That's what happens in yourlife when you decide to say I
trust you with this God,whatever it is, I'm going all in
, I'm ready to do it, and thenthat process begins, and it's
been radical, it's been awesome.
It's been awesome.
I get to connect with guys likeyou and share this.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Well, and the reason we do this show is really we
want to provide hope andstrengthen people's faith,
because we live in a fallen, broken world and the times we're
in today are particularly hard.
Yes, broken world and the timeswe're in today are particularly
hard.
I mean with social media, witha lot of depression, suicide,
drug addiction.
I mean there's a lot of painout there and you're someone

(04:34):
that was in that pain, wasreally in a bad place, and I see
you today.
That's why I wanted to reallyget you on here because, you are
just got the joy of the Lord.
I mean, you have been radicallytransformed.
What can you say to anyonelistening that's really in a
tough spot, that feels hopeless, you know?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
what can?
you say to those people thatJesus will always leave the 99
and chase you.
That's what I would say.
That is what gave me hope andgives me hope.
No matter how far we think thisis a cool phrase that I learned
a while back we can't out-sinGod.
There's no level of sin thatyou're in, that I was in where

(05:18):
God will still not chase you.
He'll leave the 99 and alwayscome after you.
He is love.
Not only does he love, he islove, he's the definition of
love.
So if you can believe that heloves you that much, that he
will never, ever give up on youand that you're never too far
gone, I always want to be forguys and for people that I talk

(05:39):
to.
I want to be a door of light.
I don't want to be a mirror toshow them where they were and
who they were and what they'vedone, and remind them of their
sin.
That sin's gone.
We confess that sin.
It is gone, it's buried, andit's as far as from the east, as
from the west.
There's this new door of lifethat you can experience, and so
that's how I want to live a lifethat demonstrates that, that we

(06:01):
are forgiven, we are made new.
The fruit of the Spirit are sobeautiful.
The first one's, love, the lastone's, self-control, and to me
those are the two most important.
They're all beautiful inbetween too Grace, love,
compassion, long-suffering,tenderness, goodness, faith All
of them in between are beautiful.

(06:21):
Love's first and the very lastone is self-control,
self-discipline.
When you commit your life tosomething greater than yourself,
to the King, it helps you todeny your flesh and show you
it's so much more than what wethink we live in this day to day
.
And you said it we're tempted,it's tough, it's challenging.
We can't, I can't carry thisthing by myself.

(06:42):
I can't.
I've tried, and all it led towas seeking things to help me,
seeking things on earth tofulfill that void, to just
devastating painful routes ofsin.
But when we can do that, whenyou can say, man, he's never
going to give up on me, nomatter how far I've gone, that's

(07:02):
a beautiful feeling.
And when you really can justtrust and believe that and know
that.
That's what changed me, john.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And one of the things I've seen you and several other
guys in the small group andstuff doing that I just am so
blown away is just being so boldin your faith.
I know y'all go up and work out.
Talk a little bit about thatministry there.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
That started with a passion for fitness, in a sense
of community.
So we thought, all right, well, how can we connect with guys?
We connect with them in smallgroup, we connect with them in
business, we see them at Publix,we see them at church for a few
minutes.
But how can we really connectwith guys to be able to share
with them and be transparent andhonest and make them feel safe?
So we said, hey, let's join thebiggest gym around.

(07:49):
And Colby and I decided this.
And we said, hey, let's jointhat gym and let's just make it
a ministry field, let's justpray about it and see where God
takes it.
We joined that gym together inJanuary of 2024.
Then we just said, hey, let'sjust meet at 8 am, let's start
training.
We're passionate about thatanyway.
Faith, family, fitness, finances it's a passion for us.

(08:11):
We said, let's start training,we start training, and then
Colby one day said, hey, let'sgo over here and pray by the
water fountain right up front, just two of us.
I said let's do it, becausewe'll say little prayers, a guy
will talk to us in the weightroom or over by the treadmills
and Travis, can you?
Yeah, yeah, and we'll put ourit.

(08:34):
But we went over and startedjust Colby and I, a couple days
in a row 9 am All right, let'sset this time 9 am, john.
That thing grew and grew.
People started looking, startedwatching, started asking.
We started getting some looks.
It grew we got 20, 25 every.
To come on over there to prayand we get some no's.
We ask some people in the gymwe get some no's.
That's okay, hey, we're justgoing to plant seeds.

(08:55):
We love you, we're here for you, the management there
supportive.
They'll take pictures of it andpost it on their social media.
I can't tell you how manypeople have reached out.
All we wanted to do was justdecide today and we're going to
commit today to Him.
That thing has grown and grown.

(09:19):
People talk about it.
It's one way that we justthought you know what?
That's an opportunity for us todemonstrate and show publicly
what God has done for us.
It's great, it's exciting.
I look forward to it.
I get people text me inFacebook messages hey, what time
is the prayer?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I mean, and that to me that is the church.
Yes, yes, I mean, yes, we havethe church, you know the
building, but it's not supposedto just be on Sunday inside the
church building.
The church is out in themarketplace, in the gym,
marketplace in the gym and it'sjust so awesome that y'all have
been so bold to say you know, let's invite some guys over, and

(10:02):
gals too, and let's pray, andthen more and more.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
next thing you know, you got 25 people praying.
I've heard about it.
People told me about it.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
you know that that's going on over there at the gym
every day, and I just say thatto encourage others to step out
and ask somebody if you can prayfor them.
Do things like this.
I mean, it may not be exactlylike what y'all are doing at the
gym, but God's not calling allof us to do the same thing.

(10:29):
Amen.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Amen.
We're all called to differentthings and I'm really passionate
about being on offense.
A lot of times the devil wantsus to be on defense.
He wants to attack.
He wants us to react.
He wants us to have fear, hewants us to have uncertainty.
We want to attack back.
I want to get ahead of the game.
So we want to be bold aboutthese things and, like you said,
whatever the Holy Spirit putson your heart, if it's on your

(10:54):
heart, act, obey immediately.
Whatever it is, do it.
If it's one conversation, ifit's one welcoming comment to
somebody, somebody bringssomething to your attention and
you feel like you know what, Igot a moment right here to pray
with them.
Wherever you are, pray withthem.
I really want us encourage usto be aggressively.
Attack what the devil's tryingto do, because he's on full

(11:15):
speed every darn day to attackus, to destroy us, to take this
world to a level of pain andsuffering, and we want to fight
him back with scripture, withpassion, putting people together
, fighting him back.
That scripture I sent out todayfrom Ecclesiastes talks about
two are powerful, Two can defendthemselves, but three together.
Ecclesiastes talks about twoare powerful, Two can defend
themselves, but three together.

(11:35):
Ecclesiastes 4.12,.
Three together are a strong, powerful cord that cannot be
denied.
Every time we got two together, the Holy Spirit's there, so
then we got three and that's apowerful, powerful cord.
I like to share that and saylet's do it, man, and just
encourage guys.
And it is a process.
I haven't always been.
You know I'm trying to pick upspeed.
You know I do, I want to pickup speed.
I haven't always been thispassionate, but when you see and

(11:58):
experience what God can do Iwas sharing this earlier.
We were talking about it youcan't argue with somebody's
testimony.
You may not believe it, Peoplemay not believe it, but you
can't argue with it.
That is what God has done intheir life.
And when we get some of us gettogether Andrew and Colby and
some of us guys, we starttalking testimony.
It's radical, it's beautiful,so let's share it.

(12:20):
Nobody can argue with that.
This is what God has done andwhat he will do for you.
I love to be able to say theanswer is not easy, but we know
the answer.
We know the answer to your pain, the answer to your loss, the
answer to your suffering.
We know the answer is Scripture.
The answer is spending timewith Jesus, radically being able
to say I'm going to change thisthing.

(12:40):
I'm going to trust you, God, toknow that you've got something
better for me.
And it's a joy unspeakable.
And it heals relationships, itchanges it all.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
So those are things that I want to just share.
You know to be able to saylet's do it, let's be on offense
, let's not be on defense, amen, wow, this is so good, travis,
where folks were visiting withTravis Kring and he is a man on
fire for God.
Travis, is there anything elsethat you'd want to share that's
on your heart this morning?

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I'll share a quick story.
I was in the airport inNashville with my son, so my son
plays EYBL basketball.
We travel a lot, so we werecoming through Nashville for one
of his tournaments.
Dallas Jenkins, the creator ofthe Chosen yes he's walking.
Luke and I are at a smoothieshop in Nashville airport and
Dallas Jenkins comes walkingthrough.
I'm like I'm starstruck.
So I tap my son Luke.
I'm like it's Dallas Jenkins.

(13:32):
And Luke's like who's that?
I said the Chosen, you'vewatched some of that shows with
me.
He's like, oh okay, he's thecreator of it.
I go over there.
Now I'll tell you this toowe've just been at these eybl
events.
So there's nba players there, there's nba scouts.
They're college.
So in that basketball worldthere's some heroes, some
legends there, and luke later onsays you didn't get lit for

(13:53):
them the way you got lit fordallas jenkins.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
So I go over there, I said.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
I said I don't want to interrupt you, dallas, but I
shook his hand.
I said I just want you to knowhow powerful of a ministry you
have and what you're doingacross the nation.
I'm just across the world.
I'm so thankful for yourministry and the chosen series.
He said, travis, thank you somuch.
He says I don't hear that veryoften People don't stop me and
talk to me.
He said I know we're doingGod's work.
He said but it's really greatto hear it.

(14:17):
And I said is there somethingyou can give me to leave with?
Is there something that's onyour heart?
He said well, I will share thiswith you.
He said my focus every day isto listen.
I want to listen to what God'stelling me.
He said I want to be still andI want to listen.
And that's really registeredwith me, john.

(14:38):
When the Holy Spirit speaks, when there's this prick on your
heart, whatever it is, it couldbe the smallest little thing to
help somebody with a grocerycart at Publix.
It could be the smallest thingwhen the Holy Spirit speaks, to
listen and obey.
Obedience is greater than anysacrifice.
So that resonated with me withDallas.
That's where it started withhim.

(14:59):
And now look at this massiveworldwide ministry that he's
doing.
So I would encourage peoplelisten and don't fear.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
And humility too.
That's one of the things I'vereally gotten from a lot of
people like Dallas and otherleaders.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
It's not about them.
They don't lead from it beingabout them.
Amen.
And humility is such animportant word.
It's tough to.
Humility is not thinking lowlyor less of ourselves.
It's just thinking of ourselves.
Less often, it's still having aconfident, powerful view of who
God made us to be.
You're a mighty man of God.
You speak it, you live it.
You're a father, you're aprovider.
You don't have to makecompromises.

(15:44):
You're a mighty man of God.
We need to be able to sharethat with our guys and with
people and let them know.
It's just not thinking ofyourself first.
It's love God and love othersbefore yourself.
Have humility, yeah, but beconfident in who you are and
what God has created you to beand the impact that you can have
, because you can have an impactin this world.
Everybody can, whatever itmight be.
Yes, so that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Humility is a good one.
Well, as we come to the end ofthis show, we always like to
share our three pillars.
That we like to leave you withon Road to Redemption.
And the first thing is you needto be in the Word of God.
That is the most importantthing in your walk with God is
to be in His Word, in the Bibleof God.
That is the most importantthing in your walk with God is
to be in His Word, in the Bibleevery day.

(16:21):
Get up and read the Word.
Get a Bible, a hard Bible, ifyou can.
If not, the Bible app.
Get on there and you can juststart reading it right now.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
It's an awesome two minutes to get going, right when
you wake up and it leads tomore.
You'll want more, but get apowerful word that's what
prompted me to start sendingthat verse to our guys was just
hey, this will get us going.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
One verse.
One verse.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
That started with four people three and a half
years ago, and two of them weremy parents.
That was it.
It was four Now.
It's just grown and grown.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
We send it to all the guys and I get the verse from
you, and it's such an anointedverse that you send out every
day and reading that scripturejust God speaks to you through
His written word.
That's so important.
We encourage you just to startreading the Bible today.
Just pick it up or open the appand just start reading it, and

(17:17):
the next thing is to get into aChrist-centered church and just
go.
You're never going to find theperfect church.
Just go, find a Christ-centeredchurch and just start going
every Sunday.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
And go for you, go for your heart, go to be
transformed.
It's okay to be selfish in thatsense because when you go to a
powerful word, you hear apowerful word.
It transforms your heart, itimpacts your heart, which makes
you better for all of yourpeople, all of your kids, your

(17:51):
business, your wife.
It's okay to be selfish becausewhen you're seeking that
kingdom, when you want more, theother things will be added.
God will do those things inyour life.
He'll change your life andtransform you and go in person.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yes, yes, because God calls us to do life together,
to assemble, to do it in person.
There's just a huge differencein doing it versus church online
.
Not to say, if you have you'resick or something, it's okay, do
it online, but if you can go inperson and the last thing is to

(18:26):
get into a small group, amen.
Get into a group that you canmake yourself vulnerable, you
can be accountable, you can dolife with either other men or
other women, or even a couple ormarriage group.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Get into a group.
It is vital.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
And go, go to that small group.
It also makes me think of Iwanted to mention we're doing
some of the guys in the churchactually are doing a group
barbecue are doing a groupbarbecue and so anyone can come
that wants to meet some othermen and just get to learn a
little bit more about God andreally fellowship with other men

(19:07):
.
Coming up on it's Tuesday, august 19th 2025, here in Santa
Rosa Beach, Florida.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
That's at Drive the Coast over off 393, Josh May's
spot.
Yeah, Drive the Coast.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
It's in Santa Rosa Beach on Highway 393, coming up
this Tuesday, the 19thLife-changing.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
It's a men's barbecue , but anyone listening you can
just come and show up Foodprovided we got some guys
speaking that will share sometestimonies on things God's done
in their life.
And you know, John, you and Iare tight.
We know this men's group is theblood in my veins, that is, the

(19:49):
relationships, thevulnerability, the transparency,
the shared suffering and theshared joys and wins is massive.
Isolation is where the deviltakes us to die.
That's what he wants.
He wants people isolated, fearful, depressed, hurt.
You get in a community, youshare with people what you've

(20:11):
done, what you've been through,what you're suffering.
It heals, it bonds us together,it strengthens us and it
defeats the devil and that makesus the kind of men and the kind
of women that we need to be,because there is strength in
that.
He didn't want us together.
I always share that.
Every guy I meet businesswherever we are.

(20:33):
I'm mentioning men's group.
I'm mentioning what it'll do.
I'm mentioning our church.
I'm mentioning men's groupbecause it'll change your life.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
And for the women listening out there well,
there's a lot of women's groupstoo.
The women have said when theirhusband goes to these groups the
huge impact they've seen ontheir marriage on their
relationship by their husbandstarting to go.
So we can promise you, thesegroups are great.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
I'll share a quick story on that real quick.
Chris Tomlin, christian singer, awesome dude, all right.
So I'm on the beach.
Last year in Inlet, justwalking to the beach hanging out
, random, meet this older couple.
We start talking it's ChrisTomlin's dad, all right.
So it's Chris Tomlin's parents.
So we start talking.
Oh, I love his music.
So Chris Tomlin's dad has aministry, has a men's ministry.

(21:21):
They do backpack trips, they doall these awesome things.
Massive ministry, kingdom-builtdriven.
He did it eight or ten years.
He's been doing it eight or tenyears, I think, if I remember.
His wife now has branched offbecause all of the women wanted
to know what in the world isgoing on with my husband.
His heart's changed.
He's radically different.
Our family is growing to thekingdom.

(21:43):
We want that too.
So now Chris Tomlin's mom has aministry, a women's ministry.
But, just like you said, whenthe head of the house, the head
of the kingdom and the wife seesthat and they're partners in
this thing and she sees whatGod's doing to his heart and his
life and their family, shewants it and that's an example

(22:06):
that it branched out.
Now there's a women's ministry.
It's so beautiful.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
One of the last points I want to make here at
the end is just that, travis, you are doing what God calls us
to do.
In the Bible he says to go outand be priest.
You know you are doing that.
You're doing ministry, like yousaid, even though you don't do
that for your job.
You're out there in yourmarketplace, in your day-to-day

(22:34):
just sharing the love of God,and I just so love that you're
doing that.
Thank you it I just so lovethat you're doing that.
Thank you, it's just contagiousand I really just wanted to get
you on today so other peoplecould hear from you and know
that we can do that too.
We can go out and encourageothers, and it just strengthens

(22:54):
the whole body of believers forus to do that, and you're just
such an encouragement.
Thank you, my brother.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Thank you, it's been such a All glory to God, amen.
Well, thanks for coming on.
Thank you, it's been a great.
It means a lot.
Great day Been great.
I really enjoyed this.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Travis Kring.
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
You've been listening to Road to Redemption, sharing

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
