Welcome to the RTO Superhero Podcast, the show
dedicated to empowering RTOs tonavigate compliance effortlessly
and deliver outstandingeducation.
I'm your host, angelaConnell-Richards, ceo and
founder of Vivacity, where webelieve that compliance should
be a launchpad, not a limitation, not a limitation.
Today's episode is all aboutlooking beyond 1 July because,

(00:27):
yes, 1 July 2025 marked thestart of the revised standards
for RTOs, but compliance isn'tjust about the ticking of boxes
and to meet a date on a calendar.
It's about building a cultureof self-assurance that will
sustain your RTO well into thefuture.
So let's explore what it lookslike and how you can shift from

(00:51):
a reactive compliance mindset toa proactive, empowered approach
.
Why compliance doesn't stop on1 July.
Many RTOs are laser focusedright now and meeting the
immediate deadline, but here'sthe reality Compliance is
continuous From 1 July onwards.

(01:13):
Asco and the sector will expectongoing evidence collection,
regular review and improvementsystems that demonstrate quality
, not just claim it.
If you treat 1 July as thefinish line, you're setting your
organisation up for burnout, last minute scrambles and

(01:33):
ongoing risk.
Instead, I challenge you to seeit as a starting point for
embedding a stronger, smarter,more self-assured culture.
What is self-assurance?
Self-assurance means your RTOactively monitors its own
compliance and quality withoutwaiting for ASQA to tell you

(01:55):
that there is a problem.
It involves regular internalaudits, systematic collection
and analysis of feedback, reviewing your training and
assessment strategies to ensurethat they meet industry needs.
Maintaining a clear, documented, continuous improvement process

(02:16):
.
The revised standards embedself-assurance as a core
expectation, not just anice-to-have how to build a
self-assurance culture.
So how do you embed this intoyour RTO?
Well, let's begin withleadership buy-in.

(02:36):
Your leadership team must setthe tone.
Compliance isn't just acompliance manager's job.
It's about the wholeorganisation being committed.
Clear roles andresponsibilities.
Make sure every team memberknows their part in maintaining
quality and compliance.
Strong systems.

(02:58):
Invest in tools, checklists andtracking systems, like
Vervacity's Compliance Trackeror ComplyHub, to monitor
progress and capture evidence.
Regular communication Holdmonthly or quarterly check-ins
on compliance status.
Make it part of your normaloperational rhythm.

(03:18):
Celebrate improvements.
Recognise when your teamstrengthens systems, closes gaps
or improves student outcomes.
Make compliance feel empowering, not burdensome.
How AI and technology can help.
One of the most excitingopportunities right now is using

(03:47):
AI and automation to supportyour compliance.
Automated document managementensures you are always using the
latest versions.
Ai-powered chatbots likeVivacity's RTO Compliance Chat.
Gpt agents can answer commonquestions about compliance,
guide your staff and prepare youfor audits.
Integrated compliance platformscan track progress, flag risks

(04:11):
and generate reports.
These tools aren't here toreplace human expertise.
They're here to free up yourtime so you can focus on quality
and innovation.
What's next for your RTO as wemove into this new era?
Here's what I want you to askyourself how will we embed

(04:35):
self-assurance into our dailyoperations?
What systems do we need toinvest in?
How can we support our team toengage confidently with
compliance?
What role will technology playin lifting our capacity?
Remember, compliance, done well, gives you freedom freedom to

(04:59):
innovate, grow and deliverbetter quality outcomes for your
learners.
You've come so far already.
Now it's time to takeeverything you've built and turn
it into a sustainable systemthat serves you long term.
The revised standards are nothere to punish you.

(05:19):
They're here to lift thequality bar across the sector
and, with the right mindset andtools, you can turn compliance
into a superpower.
