Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome to the Sage
Solutions Podcast, where we talk
about all things personalgrowth, personal development and
becoming your best self.
My name is David Sage and I'm aself-worth and confidence coach
with Sage Coaching Solutions.
I'm excited to announce thatthis is the first podcast that
(00:26):
we're recording of our secondyear as a podcast.
That's right, the SageSolutions podcast has had 52
episodes and has been around for52 weeks, so in this episode, I
want to talk a little about andreview some of the things that
we've talked about in the lastyear.
(00:46):
I also wanted to let you in onwhat you can expect from the
Sage Solutions podcast in yeartwo.
If you've been with us from thestart, congratulations.
Here we are.
And if you liked our first yearas a podcast, just wait for
what's coming.
And if you liked our first yearas a podcast, just wait for
(01:07):
what's coming.
But before we get into it, ourgoal with this podcast is to
share free, helpful tools withyou and anyone you know who is
looking to improve their life.
So take action, subscribe andshare this podcast with them.
So let's start with what youcan expect from us in year two.
(01:28):
First, after a series ofdiscussions with my team
surrounding the long-term goalof this podcast and what's
realistic and sustainable in thelong term.
We ended up coming to aconclusion that's going to shift
the format of this podcast justa little.
Coming from an infinitethinking mindset, realizing that
(01:50):
, hopefully, this podcast is aninfinite game, we don't plan on
it ending.
So, using not just ourlong-term but infinite thinking,
as Simon Sinek would say, weare adjusting the format of this
podcast to go from having arange of roughly 15 to 50
minutes long and averagingsomewhere around 30.
(02:14):
We're going to be moving to aslightly longer format, ranging
from 20 minutes long to a fullhour and averaging about 40
minutes long.
This is so that we can digdeeper, put extra effort into
each individual episode andbring you even more value.
The other major change thatwe're making for this podcast,
(02:41):
which also took into account thefeedback of you, the audience,
is that we're going to beswitching to a bi-weekly format.
We're sticking with Tuesdayreleases, but instead of
releasing a new podcast everyTuesday, we're going to be
releasing a little bit longerpodcast on average every other
Tuesday.
This will help us focus oncontinuing to increase the
(03:05):
quality of each individualpodcast while preserving the
long-term sustainability of thispodcast, so that we can
continue to do this for years tocome.
We understand that there isloads of content out there and
that everyone, myself includedlistens to multiple podcasts.
We feel that this bi-weeklyformat will help people keep up
(03:33):
with this podcast in a way thatfeels fully manageable and not
overwhelming.
Now we may occasionally stillput out shorter mini-episodes
during some of these off-weeks,kind of like this one, just to
mix things up.
The last update that I have isactually the addition of our
curiosity conversation formatthat we debuted last week as our
(03:55):
52nd episode or as the finalepisode of our first year as a
podcast.
These are going to be rotatedinto the mix of the different
types of podcast episodes thatwe release on a bi-weekly basis.
Over the last year, I feel thatthis podcast has been a good
balance between getting down andgoing deep into the
(04:16):
intellectual weeds of each giventopic, while maintaining
practical, actionable advicethat people can use in their
daily lives.
We want people to understandtopics and their shades of gray
while being able to walk awaytaking action towards the
important things in their life, which is why one of our first
(04:38):
episodes was on taking action, and I think we're going to go
back and double down on thattopic during our second year.
We also started the podcast bycovering what I referred to as
the five core fundamentals.
Now, this is a framework that Iactually created from the
(05:00):
absolute most useful conceptsthat I use in my daily life,
that I use with my clients andthat I've learned about and
researched.
These can have major, broad, sweeping effects on our lives
and embracing them as ideas andactually utilizing them with
action can have positive, fundamental changes to our lives
(05:22):
.
So we will also be re-coveringthose topics in our second year.
Just to list them off forreminder's sake first, we have
perspective of reality.
Your perspective of realitychanges your perception of
reality and your perception ofreality is the biggest driver of
(05:48):
your experience of reality.
Taking control of yourconscious perspective through
state change, framing ormindfulness can dramatically
change the way that youexperience your life.
The second core fundamental isto focus on your locus of
(06:11):
control.
Evaluate honestly what do youhave any amount of control over
and what do you have none.
Stop worrying about andfocusing on the areas of your
life that you have no controlover and start taking action and
embracing focusing on thethings that you do have some
(06:35):
agency in.
This simultaneously makes youso much more effective and in
control of your life, whilereleasing and letting go of the
time sink of worrying aboutthings that you can't do
anything about.
Third, we have lifelong learningin shades of gray.
(06:55):
The idea behind this is that wecan harness both the wonder of
childhood and the wisdom of age.
We can continue to learn andgrow with intellectual humility
and rethinking throughout ourlives, approaching with
curiosity and then vettinginformation with critical
(07:18):
thinking and realizing that veryfew things in life are actually
black or white.
Almost everything is a shade ofgray somewhere in between.
Most things have a trade-off.
It's about finding the balance, the accuracy, the flexibility
that this mindset gives you.
(07:40):
The fourth core fundamental isthat you are enough and that you
deserve to fill up your innercup, and we can use a myriad of
different ways.
There are many different topicsthat we talk about that can
help you fill up your inner cup.
If you're going to pour intoothers or into the important
(08:00):
things in your life, you have tohave something to pour out.
Recharging, taking care ofyourself and filling up your cup
makes you so much moreeffective and it makes your life
so much more worth living.
You deserve to be happy.
You deserve to build trueconfidence.
(08:23):
You deserve self-compassion,purpose and resilience.
You deserve self-care,self-love, self-awareness,
self-acceptance.
You deserve to feel good inside, because happy people help
people.
And the final core fundamentalis actually one that I'm going
(08:46):
to be tweaking just a littleright here and right now.
The foundation is the same, butin order for this fundamental
to get to its true purpose, Ifelt a tweak in language was
necessary.
Life is like a muscle, so takeaction and build it.
(09:07):
This is the fundamental thatcreates all of the changes in
your life.
It powers every otherfundamental that we've talked
about.
You have to do somethingdifferent to get something
different.
Your life is like a muscle andyou can build it over time,
whether it be the differenttraits or skills, the different
mindsets or habits, but you haveto take action.
(09:31):
No amount of just thinkingabout it and learning will build
those muscles.
These five core fundamentalsare not just powerful
individually, but truly comeinto their own when combined.
Many of them balance each otherout, and it's about the synergy
(09:51):
between these five fundamentalsthat truly reshapes our lives.
Beyond the core fundamentals,we've had many episodes about
great topics.
We had some wonderful guestsand I have personally grown and
learned so much just by doingthis podcast.
(10:11):
It's been a great year ofpodcasting and I am truly
excited for what's to come.
So next week will be the firstepisode of year two, episode of
(10:34):
year two.
And remember, you are enoughand you deserve to fill up your
inner cup with happiness, trueconfidence and resilience.
