While we are lucky that our heart beats on its own and we don’t have to think about it, we should still be aware of what it might be telling us. We should all know our resting heart rate and target heart rate during exercise and then track our heart rate recovery, which is the length of time it takes for our heart rate to come down after exercise or activity. If we experience a change in our resting heart rate, it can indicate that something else is going on with our overall health.
