“When They Can’t Kill the Message, They Try to Kill the Messenger”
💥 Episode Summary:
What happens when the truth is too dangerous to ignore?
They don’t debate it.
They destroy the person who spoke it.

This week, we’re diving into the dark history of how power protects itself—starting with the U.S. government's coordinated attack on Martin Luther King Jr. They couldn’t stop his movement, so they tried to discredit him, surveil him, gaslight the public, and drive him to suicide. Sound familiar?

From weaponized mental health diagnoses to executive orders criminalizing poverty, addiction, and dissent—this isn’t a history lesson. It’s a warning.

Here’s what we unpack:

How MLK’s legacy is being twisted to serve the very system that tried to silence him

Why the real scandal is state-run narrative control—not private mistakes

How today’s activists are facing the modern digital version of what MLK endured

What “Trump Derangement Syndrome” really is: gaslighting at scale

How weather privatization (yes, tornado warnings behind paywalls) fits into this dystopian blueprint

If they can make MLK look like the villain… what do you think they’ll do to you?

From billion-dollar mental hospitals to militarized immigration zones and privatized public services, everything might look like random chaos—until you zoom out. We're breaking down the big picture and connecting the dots between “isolated” events. Because what they’re building? It’s not a coincidence.
It’s a plan.
And once you see the pattern, you can’t unsee it.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
What if they could rewrite who you are?
Not by changing your story, butby flooding the world with a
new one.
That's what this episode isabout.
This week, it hit me harderthan usual.
We're not just fighting lies.
We're fighting disinformation,warfare, government manipulation

(00:20):
and an entire machine built toerase the truth and reframe
existence.
From Dr King to your TikTokcomments, it's all the same
playbook Discredit, distort anddominate.
So let's unpack that.
Let's talk about what they dowhen you threaten their grip on

(00:44):
power.
Let's talk about the systemsbehind the smear campaigns.
Let's talk about why now, inthis exact moment, they are
coming for the people who speakthe loudest.
I'm Christy Chanel, and this isSassy Politics.
Welcome to MindFuck Monday, because the news should come

(01:15):
with a trigger warning.
I'm Christy Chanel, and todaywe're diving into the stack of
stories that blur the linebetween conspiracy and reality.
But here's the thing.
If it sounds dystopian, itprobably is.
Let's talk about Martin LutherKing Jr and why.
I don't care about the FBIfiles, the smears or the

(01:38):
sensationalized gossip meant todiscredit him.
What I care about is this theUS government tried to destroy
him, period, and the part weshould be talking about isn't
who he may have slept with.
It's that they sent him aletter telling him to kill
himself.
They targeted him, they triedto trap him.

(02:02):
They wanted the world to stoplistening.
This wasn't about truth.
This was about control.
Again, it's always aboutcontrol, and if you think that
kind of coordinated takedownisn't still possible, you're not
paying attention.
The scariest part of the MLKfiles isn't what they say about

(02:28):
him, it's what they confirmabout them.
They couldn't beat the power ofhis words, so they tried to
ruin the man who spoke them.
Simple.
We like to romanticize activismafter the fact, but MLK was
called a radical, a communist, athreat.

(02:49):
Sound familiar?
It should, because if you useyour voice today, if you post
too boldly or if you gather toomany eyes, they try the same
tactics.
Now they just call it Trumpderangement syndrome instead of
unfit or suspect.

(03:09):
And this is why I built theactivist chain because we needed
something people powered tokeep us safe, connected and
alert in real time.
The chain is organized by city, state and region.
It's made up of amplifiers, thevoice, the media and the

(03:30):
messengers, Shields, thesecurity, the planners and the
protectors and, lastly, leadsthe organizers that keep the
chain strong.
I went live on TikTok this weekwith Cicely from Texas and
Letty from California.
I hate going live.
You guys know that I hate it.

(03:53):
I get a little anxious, butthis time I really didn't.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
People that are going to make the change for this
country is going to be us, thewomen.
That's because we have the mostto lose.
We've already lost so much, somuch we've lost.
How much more are we willing tolose?
Are we willing to be RosemaryKennedy?

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Nope, because I wasn't alone.
And that's exactly the point.
We're building something linkby link and thanks to my
daughter shout out to Gen Zwe've got a Discord server
coming your way.
I'm really excited about it.
I'll have something for you inthe next episode's notes, so
stay tuned for that.
I don't really know how to useDiscord very well, but I'm

(04:41):
learning and I will have a wholechannel on my server that will
be explaining how Discord works, because I know my generation
doesn't know a lot about it.
I hear you, I am you.
Now let's move into the storiesthat should be front page, but
aren't.
The weather is being privatized.

(05:02):
Trump hired a former privateweather executive who believes
weather alerts should bemonetized.
Imagine Tornado warnings behinda paywall, flood alerts bundled
like cable Basic safety infotiered by subscription.
This is not sci-fi, it's thedirection we're headed.

(05:25):
Just think about it.
You're in a flood zone but notgetting an alert because you
couldn't afford the premiumpackage.
Imagine broadcasters having topay for access to radar systems
and in turn, they're only givingus partial information.
Now imagine how many lives arelost not because of the storm,

(05:46):
but because we turned weatherinto revenue.
Texas is tornado country.
Florida is hurricane central.
If they tear weather alerts bygeography, your zip code could
cost you your life.
Next headline Trump derangementsyndrome.
This phrase gets thrown at meconstantly in my comment section

(06:12):
on all my social medias.
But here's what most peopledon't know Republicans submitted
a proposal to the House Energyand Commerce Committee to make
TDS a diagnosable mental illness.
This isn't a joke anymore.
It's not just trolling, it'slegislation.
Now pair that with the ACLU'sbombshell.

(06:37):
Trump just signed executiveorders to criminalize
homelessness, addiction andmental illness.
Let's play this out.
If you've ever been prescribedantidepressants, you're now a
risk.
If you've ever applied for amedical marijuana card under
depression, you're now aliability.

(06:58):
If you grieve too long afterlosing someone, you're unstable.
If you speak out againstfascism, you're now mentally ill
or you will be as soon as itpasses.
You don't go to therapy, no,you go to work camp.
You don't get help, you get asentence.

(07:22):
And the wildest part, they'reselling this to the public as
safety.
All right, do you believe it?
Do you believe it?
No, you don't believe it?
Then start speaking up.
Next headline Steve Bannon saidit out loud no one is coming to

(07:43):
save you.
In a recent interview.
Bannon didn't flinch.
He said it with that smuglittle shrug.
No one is coming to save you,and you know what?
He's right, because what we'reseeing isn't just one corrupt
leader, it's a system ofsuppression, one that has

(08:05):
already criminalized poverty, turned weather into profit and
is now labeling dissent asdisease.
No one is coming to save us,but we we can save each other.
We are the chain.
If you're ready to plug in, goto activistchaincom and choose

(08:28):
your role, because if they getto decide what's sane, what's
safe and what's true, thensilence isn't survival, it's
surrender, and I'm not built forsurrender, and I know you're
not either.
Link by link, we are the chain.
Love you, miss you.

(08:48):
Bye, thank you, you.
