Speaker 1 (00:00):
Have you ever looked around and thought have we all
lost our damn minds?
Because lately, that's exactlyhow I feel Everything's upside
down.
The people who used to fightfor truth are doubling down on
propaganda.
The people who used to screamabout war are now marching

(00:20):
towards it.
The news is messy, the airfeels heavy and you're sitting
there just trying to make senseof it all, wondering if you're
the only one who sees it clearly, you're not.
I'm Christy Chanel, and this isSassy Politics.

(00:41):
This is Sassy Politics.
I took a breath last week.
I needed it.
I had to step back from thenoise, but I never stay away
long because I know howimportant this is and,
truthfully, I love this.

(01:01):
I love using my voice, I loveknowing you're out there
listening and I love knowingwe're not as alone as they want
us to feel.
Today, I want to walk youthrough what's really happening
beneath the chaos and how I knowdeep in my gut that the tide is
turning.

(01:23):
On June 14th, somethingincredible happened.
Over 2,100 cities across thecountry stood up and said we
have no kings in America.
It wasn't a cute slogan.
It was a full-body rejection ofauthoritarianism, of one man
thinking he's untouchable.

(01:44):
This is from my protest.
It's a little flag they werehanding out I had.
I still feel recharged from it.
I took my daughter with me andit was hot.
It was in Dallas, it was hotand there was like 10,000 people

(02:05):
there, but it was so importantgoing to do this to our country.
So I was there.
I felt it.

(02:31):
I saw people show up with theirkids with handmade signs.
I actually had one of my ownthat me and my daughter made.
We made a day out of it andthen I went live on TikTok as I
was recording or as I was makingmy sign, and my sign said and
then they came after you Becauseeventually they will and that

(02:54):
was the real message of my sign, with this quiet fire that was
in everybody's eyes.
They said no, you don't get totake this from us.
We're talking.
Millions of people, all statesin the US participated on back
roads and in big cities.
That's history.

(03:15):
We made history.
That's momentum.
But how did Trump respond?
He logged on to Truth Socialand posted I was very concerned.
A king was trying to take myplace, sarcastic, passive,
aggressive, delusional.

(03:35):
But here's the part you need toclock the very next day, he
pivoted from mocking us toannouncing that he plans to
double deportations.
Now remember, just weeks ago hesaid he'd ease up on
deportations for farm workersand hospitality because of

(03:56):
pressure from billionaires andbusiness owners.
But the second, millions ofpeople stood up and called him
out.
He snapped, he got petty, hegot vengeful, and if you think
that's not a sign of a man whobelieves he's above the law,
think again.
And that big military paradethat he threw himself in DC

(04:19):
underwhelming Sparse crowds, awkward energy, let's just say
the vibe wasn't giving King.
And I will tell you, there weresome great memes out there.
One was this army tanker, whichis true footage and all you
hear is their as it rolls acrossthe road and there's no audible

(04:42):
sounds of the crowd.
It's brilliant and it's beenused over and over again.
Actually, newsom used it in oneof his posts.
So yeah, loved it.
Now here's where it gets evenmore twisted.
People online started postingthings like no kings but Jesus
is king.

(05:02):
Like no kings but Jesus is king, completely missing the whole
point.
Clearly, that wasn't aboutreligion.
It was about power, aboutdemocracy, about reminding this
country that no one, no one, isabove accountability.
But they gaslight, they twist, they reduce everything to a

(05:25):
culture war meme.
That's how the machine keepsspinning and it's exhausting.
Let's talk about what Trump saidjust yesterday.
He went after Fox News yeah, his own echo chamber.
He said MAGA hates Fox Newsbecause they're posting negative
polls, called their pollster aclown and their political

(05:47):
analyst, jessica Tarlow, adisgrace, said their numbers
were rigged and biased.
Now hold on.
This is Fox, the same networkthat's carried water for him for
years, the one that helpedbuild the MAGA machine, and now
it's not loyal enough.
This is what authoritarians dothey burn every bridge that

(06:11):
doesn't worship them.
And when even Fox isn't pureenough for you, you're not
running a movement, you'rerunning a cult and the cracks
are showing.
Candace Owens yes that.
Candace said she's heartbrokenwatching Trump fight against
free speech in America.

(06:33):
Joe Rogan, who isn't exactlyprogressive, said Trump's
immigration plans are dangerousand warned that we might become
monsters while fighting monsters.
Let that sink in.
People who built theirplatforms defending Trump are
now backing away slowly,carefully, publicly.

(06:56):
That's not nothing.
That's a signal.
The tide is turning.
You want to hear somethingbeautiful.
We need it.
Pope just appointed a new USbishop, michael Pham, and his
first message he called ondeacons and priests to sit
beside immigrants in court, notto preach, not to convert, just

(07:21):
to be there, to show up insolidarity to make sure no one
feels alone.
That moved me because itreminded me of the nuns in
Germany who hid Jewish familiesduring the Holocaust.
Quiet, acts, of resistance, small things that changed

(07:43):
everything.
And maybe that's what we needright now People willing to show
up.
And then there's the war drums.
Trump is not talking aboutaligning with Israel to take on
Iran.
It's all starting to build, butremember his base?
They were anti-war.
That was the one thing theycould hang their hat on.

(08:06):
Now he's doing exactly whatthey used to criticize Bush and
Obama for.
So ask yourself, was it everreally about policy, or was it
always about control, aboutcontrol?
I know this is a lot.
I know you might be listeningto all of this, holding your

(08:26):
coffee, sitting in your car oryour kitchen, thinking what the
hell is happening to us.
I feel it too.
It's scary, it's Overwhelming,and it's easy to feel like
you're the only one who seeswhat's really going on.
But you're not alone.
This shift, the one we'rewitnessing, it's not just about

(08:50):
power or politics.
It's about people waking up.
It's about reclaiming clarityin a world built on confusion,
and that matters more than youknow.
Here's the truth.
Millions protested, trumppanicked, the media turned, his

(09:12):
allies backed away.
Faith leaders stepped forwardand, in the middle of all of the
noise, you stayed awake.
The tide is turning.
You can feel it, you can see it, and if you've been waiting for
a sign to keep speaking, tokeep standing, to keep fighting,

(09:34):
this is it.
You're not crazy, you're notalone, and I will be here with
you.
I'll be back next week, nextMonday.
Until then, stay safe, stayawake and pay attention.
Love you, miss you.
Bye, we'll see you next time.
