In this episode, I speak to Danny Miguel with the World Stop Stuttering Association. Stuttering consists of various types of dysfluencies, including repeating parts of words (repetitions), stretching a sound out for a long time (prolongations), or having a hard time getting a word out (blocks). After a 700-page book, Danny found a new perspective that saved his outlook on life. He speaks about his difficult speech therapy journey and how his discovery with WSSA brought back joy in his life. I encourage healthcare providers and educators to listen to this episode. It is important to see how therapy techniques can change and the perspective of someone who has experienced what you plan to treat.
