Life's greatest tragedy unfolds silently every day as countless people abandon their dreams, settling into comfortable mediocrity without ever realizing their God-given potential. This passionate episode tears into the heart of why so many of us feel that persistent, gnawing sense that something vital is missing from our lives.

Sean Crane delivers a wake-up call about the conditioning we've all experienced—often from well-meaning, respected sources—that gradually disconnects us from our authentic purpose. With raw honesty, he shares how his own near-destruction through addiction and facing life imprisonment became the divine intervention that saved him from becoming "another zombie walking the streets." This personal revelation underscores a universal truth: sometimes our greatest challenges are precisely what we need to break free from society's hypnotic grip.

The path to becoming a free thinker emerges through daily self-reflection, reading transformative books like Napoleon Hill's "Outwitting the Devil," and reconnecting with that inner voice calling you toward excellence. Sean powerfully articulates how the battle between positive and negative forces plays out in our daily choices, slowly eroding our willpower through fear, doubt, and the endless pursuit of empty pleasures. "No matter how much I numbed it out, no matter how much I ran from that feeling, no matter how much I suppressed my truth, it was always there," he confesses, speaking to anyone who's felt that persistent undercurrent of unfulfillment.

Ready to break free from the conditioning that's keeping you small? Speaker 1 (00:00):
The way you start to become a free thinker is to
understand the conditioning thatwe've all gone through.
And understand the conditioningcan come from people that you
deem as good, people, that youlook up to, people who have good
reputations, people who havegreat careers and occupations,
but a lot of them have beenmanipulated in different ways
and they're passing on thisideology and they're passing on
these beliefs in a way that'snot serving you or anyone around

(00:20):
you.
So, you guys, be a free thinker, read more books, take time to
reflect, and you know what theultimate thing is.
You've got to get clear on yourtruth and your conscience,
because God has put everythingon your heart that you need to
become and do in this life.
You're just not listening.

(00:40):
Welcome back to another episodeof the Unstoppable Mindset
Podcast.
I'm your host, sean Crane, andthank you for tuning in.
I'm here in beautiful Goleta,california, 805.
If you're from the 805, Ialways want you to comment on
this down below.
I love seeing who's in my localarea and please share this
message in my podcast withsomebody who's looking for

(01:02):
direction, purpose, inspiration, somebody who needs to get fired
up.
My message is you guys, I wantto get you thinking, I want to
get you reflecting on your lifeand how you're living, but most
importantly is, I want to infusesome inspiration in you to go
above and beyond, to go afterwhat you truly want.
There's a lack of urgency inthese times that people have.
That shocks me.

(01:23):
Everyone thinks you're going tolive forever and it's like you
guys are all going to die.
You're all going to die, and wejust saw Charlie Kirk get
assassinated.
We see people die every day.
These kids at the school inColorado got killed.
I mean, look what's happeningin Gaza.
All over the world, people aredying all the time and people
still live like they're going tojust be here forever.
It shocks me, man.

(01:43):
The thing is, you're not goingto be here forever and you're
going to look back with regretwhen your time comes or you get
older, wishing that you wouldhave done the things that you
really wanted to do.
Don't let that happen to you.
Today, I want to share with you, though, how to become a free
thinker, because a lot of it is.
People get just numb and dulledand they settle.
People are just gosh man.
They're like a bunch of zombieswalking around society.

(02:05):
Why does this happen?
Why does that happen?
Why, after young people go tocollege or get out of high
school, I feel like they justkind of settle and start well,
they start coasting and thenthey settle.
I remember when I came home fromprison I saw all the people
that were my age I was nearly 30years old and they had all just
given up on life.
It was apparent they were justcomfortable and they were just

(02:26):
settling for mediocrity and Icouldn't believe it and I
thought to myself why are theynot continuing to better
themselves?
When we're younger?
We're going to school.
You want to get good grades, you're thinking about your
future, your teachers aretalking to you about college or
what you want to do when you'redone with high school and
there's a sense like optimismthere and urgency with young
people.
Something happens from thatpoint until people start having

(02:48):
kids or a little after they havekids, where they lose that
spirit, they lose that urgency, they lose that dreamlike ability
we have as young people toenvision what they want to be
and achieve in this life.
And is that because what theydon't go all in?
They let fear stop them.
They hit a couple roadblocks sothey get discouraged.
I don't know what it is, man,but I do know that a lot of

(03:10):
people end up settling, and Ifreaking hate it.
If you're settling right now,you better wake the heck up, man
, like if I see you in person,I'm going to talk to you like
this.
I want to know about your goals.
I want to know about whatyou're passionate about.
I want to know why you'reholding back.
I want to know what you'rescared of.
I want to know what it is thatis just keeping you stuck, man,
because we could break throughthat, we could crush those
negative beliefs, we could crushthose negative energies and

(03:32):
move towards a meaningful life.
I want to infuse belief andinspiration in everyone I come
across, man.
That's my goal, that's myfreaking job.
My job every day is to get upand do things that make me feel
proud of myself, so I can getthis fire, this energy, this
passion inside of me and infuseit into you, right?
Whether it's through a messageon my podcast, on social media

(03:53):
or we talk in person.
And that's what I want to dofor my kids, that's what I want
to do with my coaching clients, that's what I want to do for
society at large.
Today, I want to bring to yousome awareness.
A lot of you aren't freethinkers.
A lot of you let fear and doubthold you back.
A lot of you let other people'sopinions and judgments of you
hold you back.
A lot of you are suppressingyour God-given potential.

(04:15):
Now, in order to become a freethinker, it requires you to do a
couple things.
Number one is reflect oneverything that you see in here
and your own life as well.
Daily self-reflection andintrospection is so powerful
because you hold the truth andthe secrets and answers to a lot
of life's problems right nowand you don't even realize it

(04:37):
because you're not reflecting.
You're numb.
You're checked out.
You're on your phone.
You're doing drugs.
You're chasing pleasure.
You're on screens.
You're chasing pleasure.
You're on screens.
You're doing all this stuff.
That's detaching you from thetruth inside of you.
Okay, so that's number one.
Number two you got to read morebooks.
Read books by authors who havedone exceptional things.
Read books about psychology, personal development, business,

(04:58):
you know.
Read books that are nonfiction, books that could add value to
your life, books where you canget information, because a lot
of times, when you read booksand you start to learn from
people who have done amazingthings or other free thinkers,
you start to connect the dotsand go wow, the way they think,
the way they live, the resultsthey have is different than most
of society.
And you start to go well, whyis that?

(05:18):
What are they doing differently?
Most of society, like I said, they quit and gave up a long
time ago.
They let fear and doubtsuppress their potential.
They're on their phones toomuch.
They're consumers and a lot ofthem they're watching the news
or they're listening to peoplethat are, you know, influential
in their lives and they'rebelieving everything they say.
And you know you shouldn'tbelieve everything that people

(05:39):
say, especially politicians, especially people in the media
and nowadays, even professors, even college institutions, even
freaking doctors.
You should question everybody.
If you want to read a reallygood book that could put things
in perspective, I'm going tohold it up right here.
This book is by Napoleon Hill.
It's called Outwitting theDevil.
Okay, napoleon Hill also wrotethe infamous book well, maybe

(06:03):
not infamous, famous great book, amazing book Thinking Grow Rich
.
But in this book he talks aboutthese polarizing energies in
the world and I think you canall attest to this right now.
It does feel like there'ssomething taking place in life
right now where good and evil ishaving a battle.
Okay, maybe it's this battle inthe heavens, it's the battle

(06:25):
out in the universe, but we'refeeling the effects of it.
You can feel these polarizingenergies, right, you can just
feel it, man.
It's palpable.
And Napoleon Hill talks abouthow God is always trying to call
you to greatness.
God is always whispering inyour ear right, go after that
goal, make that change, let goof that toxic relationship.
God's always there, trying toget your attention, but we're

(06:47):
stubborn, you know.
And in the Bible it says humansare, you know, we're sinners,
and I used to not understandthat.
But I was at a sermon this lastweekend and the minister broke
it down really well.
He goes you know, in the Biblewhen it says you're sinners, it
doesn't mean like you're goingto get up and just do evil.
It means that we have theseemotions and tendencies inside
of us that are not conducive tous becoming our best selves.

(07:09):
Anger, resentment, being in abad mood, being irritable, being
jealous, having a negativethought All those are forms of
sin.
And then we have whatPleasure-seeking tendencies.
We want to overeat the food.
We want to do the drugs.
People have affairs.
Guys are out there struggling, looking at porn.
Some of you want to be on yourphones all day long, even at
your kids' games or while you'redropping them off at school.

(07:30):
You're not paying attention, like there's all these things we
do every day that are it'smaladaptive coping, it's not
conducive to who we want tobecome Right now.
You can make a list of allthese things you're doing in
your life every day.
That is not serving you, butyou continue to do it.
Why do you do that?
Why do you keep doing thethings that you say you

(07:53):
shouldn't do?
Right, it's because we'refreaking sinners, and it took me
a long time to understand that, but when I heard the sermon on
Sunday, it clicked for me andit's like, wow, we are sinners,
we're imperfect, and so how doyou start to find a path in life
if you have these tendencies?
Well, according to Napoleon Hill, according to a lot of people,

(08:14):
it's the word, it's the Bible, and you know, for me, I never
really connected to the word inthe Bible.
I would read these stories andyou know the New Testament, the
book of Matthew, like I'd hearthese quotes and people would
read scripture and I was like, wow, that sounds good.
Yeah, there's a lot of likevalidity to what is written in
the Bible Iron sharpens ironlike a man sharpens a man.

(08:35):
That's one of my favoritequotes comes from the Bible.
There's so much in the Biblethat is positive and that is
eye-opening.
But for me, when I started goingthrough my transformation and
making the commitment to changemy life, I just didn't connect
to the Bible in a way that wouldcompel me to make massive
change.
I didn't.
But you know what did get myattention?

(08:56):
It was that good voice that wasalways inside of me, every day,
calling me to be a betterperson.
You know, telling me Sean, getsober.
Sean, get away from thesefriends you're hanging out with.
They're no good for you.
Like Sean, go back and playsports.
You're an athlete.
This is who you are at yourcore.
Go play sports Right.
Like.
I wanted to be such a betterperson, but at that time in my

(09:16):
life I was afflicted.
But that voice was always thereinside of me and for you right
now, that voice is there, telling you what changes you
need to make.
But you keep ignoring thatvoice and you keep wondering why
you're upset and disgruntledand suffering and struggling in
your life.
You keep wondering why you'restuck.
It's because you're notlistening and you're not willing

(09:38):
to pursue whatever that voiceis telling you to do in your
life and commit to it all in.
And if you would do that and ifyou could do that, your whole
world would transform around youover time.
That's what happened to me, andso Napoleon Hill describes in
his book Outwitting the Devilyou all need to read it.
Don't listen to it on audio, read it, underline it, study it

(09:59):
and then reflect on what youread and how it makes you feel.
He talks about the corruptionthat takes place in this world.
He talks about good versus evil, god and the devil always
battling, vying for yourattention.
And he talks about how thedevil starts to win people over
right In subtle acts over time,by compromising your willpower,
by instilling fear and doubt inyour consciousness, by giving

(10:22):
you those insecure thoughts andworrying about what other people
think about you.
And at a young age, the devilstarts to get a hold of you
through these thoughts.
Then your actions align tothose negative thoughts, then
the devil's got a grip on you.
Because now that negativeenergy persists inside of you.
And what don't you do?
You don't strive for excellence, you don't pursue your dreams,
you don't tap into yourpotential.

(10:43):
Then you are not an asset forGod, but now you become an asset
for the devil, because then youinfluence other people.
You grow up to have kids, right, and then those fears and those
negative beliefs are passed onto your children.
Maybe you have coworkers, maybeyou have friends.
Now you're all stuck in thisnegativity.
Right, the devil or NapoleonHill calls them drifters.
In life.
You just go through the motions, you don't ever do anything

(11:06):
exceptional.
You wait for the weekend toparty and drink and eat food.
You look forward to football onThursday nights and your
fantasy football teams.
You're on your phone all daylong scrolling for this instant
gratification, this dopaminespike, but you don't do anything
meaningful and purpose-drivenin your life.
Why is that?
It's because, early on, thoseseeds of doubt and that fear and

(11:31):
that broken willpower rightthat these evil forces have
imposed upon you pulled you awayfrom that path that God was
calling you to take.
See, I was on that path.
I was so close to becoming adrifter, a waste, another zombie
walking the streets, but, forwhatever reason, god and divine

(11:51):
intervention came into my lifein that right moment, right In
such a profound way.
I was facing life in prison.
That's the only thing thatcould have woken me up and given
me separation from what Society, from this conditioning, from
all those toxic relationships.
That was the only thing thatcould have got me to pay
attention and want to actuallychange and live a better life.

(12:14):
Nothing else would have done itfor me.
I was this close to overdosingso many times.
I saw my dad overdose.
I saw my mom overdose a handfulof times.
I lost my uncle jerry.
I lost my cousin andrew.
Since I've lost both my parentsRIP.
I love you guys so much and youknow what.
I'm continuing to fight thefight that you guys couldn't
overcome because you wereafflicted.

(12:35):
Those demons had to hold you.
I'm going to fight that fight, not just for my family, but for
everybody out there who'sstruggling.
And this is what it comes downto, whether you're battling
addiction to drugs, porn, whether you're just going
through the motions in life.
I know so many people out therethat just feel like something's
missing, that you're not livinga purpose-driven life.
What is it?
How could I change?

(12:56):
Why am I feeling this way?
And you know what People aregoing through this all the time
and then they numb it out andthen they forget about it, but
it's always there.
It's always persisting belowthe surface.
It's always internal, becausethat was me for 10 years and no
matter how much I numbed it out,no matter how much I ran from
that feeling, no matter how muchI stopped talking about it, no
matter how much I suppressed mytruth, it was always there.

(13:19):
It was always there.
And you know, for a lot of youit's going to be there till the
day you die.
And the sad truth is, a lot ofpeople will never figure it out.
And as a coach, as a speaker,as someone who truly cares about
others, that breaks my freakingheart, and so I've dedicated my
life, my life's purpose, mymission is to speak this truth,
share this message, demonstrateby being an example, every day,

(13:42):
all day long, for as long as ittakes to win as many of you over
as possible.
Right To go after your dreams,to fulfill those goals, to
pursue excellence, to go downthat path that God is calling
you to take.
If you're somebody who'sstruggling right now and you
want to understand how the deviland these evil forces has
infiltrated your mind, mostlikely your parents, most likely

(14:06):
your teachers, most likelythese college institutions, most
likely these politicians, mostlikely your parents, most likely
your teachers most likely thesecollege institutions most
likely these politicians mostlikely everybody that you listen
to on the media.
You got to read this book byNapoleon Hill Outwitting the
Devil.
If you want to be a freethinker.
The way you start to become afree thinker is to understand
the conditioning that we've allgone through and understand that
the conditioning can come frompeople that you deem as good,

(14:27):
people that you look up to,people who have good reputations
, people who have great careers, occupations, but a lot of them
have been manipulated indifferent ways and they're
passing on this ideology andthey're passing on these beliefs
in a way that's not serving youor anyone around you.
So you guys, be a free thinker.
Read more books, take time toreflect and you know what the

(14:50):
ultimate thing is.
You've got to get clear on yourtruth and your conscience,
because God has put everythingon your heart that you need to
become and do in this life.
You're just not listening.
If you have the courage andconfidence and belief and faith
to go down that path, I promiseyou will live the most

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
