Today I am talking about priority. If I asked you if taking care of yourself is important and should be a priority what would you say? Most, if not all of us would say yes. Healthy self-care is important. It doesn't matter what we say but do we do what we say is priority and important to us?
No one does this perfectly all the time. There's no better time to start fresh than right now. I have a few suggestions to help you do that.

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Get Well, Live Well, & Thrive Podcast. My name is Dana Lyons and I'm your host. And I apologize, this is going on, I think it's at least a week since I put out my last episode and to tell you the truth, I've been doing some of my own more, giving some more attention to my own self-care and, but I want to welcome you back. Today I want to talk about priority. So welcome back to Self-Care Island. This is a series we're doing on healthy self-care. I think this is episode four in the series. And I just want to encourage you, go grab your drink if you haven't already, kick your shoes off and put them in this cute little imagination, a pool of water, whether it's a lake, a pool or the ocean, grab your chair. We're going to sit in and just relax together. Just imagine we're all sitting in a circle, just friend to friend, having some quality time, getting real with each other. Okay. I call it Self-Care Island because I just want it to be a time where we all get together, where you imagine we are just sitting friend to friend, taking some time to relax, to put aside our responsibilities, to put aside all the things that kind of weigh on us through the day and just go, Hey, I'm just going to sit here for just a little bit. Take time out. It's good to be in community. It's good to have accountability and just know one, first and foremost, whatever we talk about, just know you're not alone. Two, none of us have gotten this a hundred percent correct. The only one who is perfect is the Lord. So know that there's always room for all of us to improve and to grow. None of us really grow when we're in our comfort zones. But for now, I want you to sit in some comfort. I want you to just sit here, allow yourself to get uncomfortable, but feel comfortable in the process, knowing you're in good company because none of us gets this right all the time. So I've been doing that this week. I've, I've had my own challenges this week, to be honest, and I've had to care for myself a little extra this week. So I didn't put one out. Uh, I, I try to put one out every, I don't know, four or five days and I think I've gone over that. So here we are, we're going to talk about priority. And I didn't put one out because I had to make myself a priority. So let's talk about, if I asked you, do you think taking care of yourself should be a priority? Something you find value in? Do you think healthy self-care is a, should be a priority? If you had to take a written test, all of us, I think would say, sure. Yeah. I think it's, it's something that should be important to us and it is important. I mean, as parents, we teach our kids, take care of yourself, right? Brush your teeth, wash your face, eat a good breakfast, you know, do all the daily disciplines that we find valuable. We teach our kids to do. But if you have lived any amount of time, you have probably built some unhealthy disciplines in your life that if you were to look at on paper, you'd go, yeah, that's, that's not the best part. I'm not showing that that's a priority in my life. We can just all admit it. We go in and out of phases and maybe you've even, even, you know, found yourself looking in the mirror going, what the heck happened to you? Where did you go? And how did you even get here? I used to find some of these things a priority and I used to do them pretty well. And yet it's been years. Matter of fact, I don't even know where to begin. You know, like if
