Speaker 1 (00:00):
What up motives?
It's your girl Tone Motivate, back with another episode of
Shades of Tone.
So today I would like todiscuss spirituality and
wellness and finding harmonywithin yourself.
Now.
We can never obtain peace inthe outer world until we make
peace with ourselves, and that'sby the Dalai Lama, and I

(00:24):
strongly agree with that.
So let's touch on defining thespirituality and wellness.
When we think of wellness, manyof us jump straight to physical
health exercise, nutrition,sleep.
But what about our spiritualwellness?
What does it mean to truly feelat peace within ourselves?

(00:46):
Spirituality doesn't have tomean religion.
It can be about connecting withsomething greater than yourself
, whether that's nature, a senseof purpose or inner peace.
It's a personal journey uniqueto each of us.
Wellness is more than justhitting the gym.

(01:08):
It's mental, emotional andspiritual.
It's about creating harmony inall aspects of your being.
So let's understand ourspiritual journey, because each
one of us has a different route, route or way to get there,
depending on who we are.

(01:29):
So I used to think thatspirituality meant attending a
weekly service or followingcertain rituals.
It took me a while to realizethat spirituality is a deeply
personal path that can benurtured in countless ways.
I realized it was therelationship I had with my
higher self, not just religion.

(01:50):
It was me getting back to andstarting things that fed me.
For me, it was journaling, avoiding distractions and simply
spending more time with myselfto get to know myself on a
deeper level.
I want you to reflect on yourown understanding of

(02:12):
spirituality.
When you think about your ownspirituality, what comes to mind
?
Is it tied to a belief system,or is it more about the sense of
peace and connection you feelin certain moments?
Explore and don't expect.
Your spiritual journey doesn'thave to look like anyone else's.

(02:33):
It's about discovering whatresonates with your soul, not
what society says is right.
How do you feel when yourspiritual life is out of balance
?
What happens when you ignorethat part of yourself?
Mental, emotional and physicalwellness are interconnected with

(02:55):
spirituality.
When we neglect our spiritualside, it can manifest physically
as stress, fatigue or evenillness.
Our bodies, minds and spiritsare all linked.
Here are a few examples of howintegrating spirituality can
boost overall wellness.

(03:16):
When you meditate, journal orspend time in nature, you're not
just relaxing, you're nurturingyour soul.
And when your spirit feelsbalanced, you experience a sense
of calm that ripples into everypart of your soul.
And when your spirit feelsbalanced, you experience a sense
of calm that ripples into everypart of your life.

(03:37):
Now let's discuss the importanceof personal rituals and
spiritual self-care.
You don't need elaborateceremonies.
Simple daily practices canbring you closer to your
spiritual core, like lighting acandle in the morning,
meditating or taking mindfulwalks.
Here are some differentspiritual self-care practices.

(03:59):
Meditation it's a powerful toolto quiet the mind and connect
with your inner self.
Even just 10 minutes a day canmake a huge difference.
Gratitude journaling Writingdown what you're grateful for
each day can shift your focus tothe positive and connect you to

(04:22):
a higher sense of purpose.
Mindful movement, yoga, tai Chior even mindful walking can
help you feel more connected toyour body and spirit.
Connecting with nature,spending time outdoors,
listening to the birds, feelingthe wind on your face it's a

(04:45):
simple yet profound way toconnect with the world and find
spiritual balance.
Reflect on which of thesepractices resonate with you.
Which of these spiritualself-care practices speaks to
you?
What can you incorporate intoyour routine to nourish your

(05:08):
soul?
Now let's find harmony in a busyworld, because we all know look
the world be world and life belife in.
And um, sometimes just got tonavigate through that.
So the modern struggle is.
We all know the fast pace ofmodern life and it can make it
hard to focus on spirituality.
We live in a world that'salways go, go, go.

(05:30):
You got to do this, you got todo that and it's easy to get
caught up in the hustle andbustle and forget to take time
for your spiritual health.
Balancing material andspiritual life is finding
harmony, and it doesn't meanescaping to a mountain retreat,
though that would be dope.
It's about integrating momentsof stillness and reflection into

(05:52):
your busy life.
Here are some practical tips.
You have morning rituals.
Start your day with a moment ofmindfulness, whether it's a
deep breath, a quiet cup of teaor a short meditation.
I myself always have a hot cupof tea and I read a scripture
from the book of Psalms.
Next is mindful breaksThroughout the day.

(06:16):
Take many breaks to centeryourself.
Even just pausing for a fewseconds to check in with your
body and mind can help.
Lastly, end of day reflectionBefore bed, reflect on your day.
What brought you peace, whatthrew you off balance?
This helps you stay aware ofyour spiritual needs.
Think about how you canincorporate small moments of

(06:40):
spirituality into your dailyroutine.
How can you carve out space foryour spiritual self in the
midst of your busy life?
Now let's move on tospirituality and authenticity.
Authenticity and spiritualalignment is being in tune with
your spiritual self and helpsyou live more authentically.

(07:01):
When you're connected to yourspiritual side, it's easier to
live in alignment with your trueself.
You're not just going throughthe motions, you're making
choices that resonate with yoursoul, living in your truth.
Now, y'all know this is mymotto.
I encourage the world to be litL-I-Y-T.

(07:25):
Living your truth, and I have awhole episode from last season
on this.
Make sure you tune into that.
Spirituality can help you livein your truth.
It's about tuning into yourinner voice rather than being
swayed by external expectations.
When you're spiritually aligned, you have the clarity and
courage to be yourselfunapologetically.

(07:47):
You don't bother with whatothers say or think of you, and
you realize that their opinionsdoes not make assumptions of you
.
A fact.
A few gems for stayingauthentic in everyday life Start
by listening to your gut, whatfeels right to you, and remember

(08:07):
it's okay to say no to thingsthat don't serve your spiritual
health, and sometimes no is acomplete sentence.
Period pool.
Reflect on your ownauthenticity.
Are you living in alignmentwith your spiritual truth?
What steps can you take to livemore authentically Now?

(08:32):
Spirituality and overcomingchallenges.
Spiritual resilience helps inovercoming life's challenges.
When life gets tough, it'soften our spiritual strength
that helps us weather the storm.
It gives us hope, perspectiveand the ability to keep going.
There was a time when I feltcompletely lost.

(08:55):
I was doing any and everythingto keep me from myself.
I was trying to fill voids thatonly made me feel more empty.
I hurt people in the process, which I could never bounce back
from, although I apologized andsupported them after the fact.
But tapping into my spiritualpractice helped me find a sense
of peace and direction.

(09:16):
I want you to reflect on a timewhen your spiritual practice
helped you through a challenge.

beliefs or practices gave youstrength?
