Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, hey, hey.
What it do, what it do, what'sgood?
Motives?
It's the one and only ToneMotivates back with another
episode of the Shades of Tone.
So today we want to be chattingabout reclaiming our power and
turning pain into purpose.
You know, I gotta hit you witha quote.
So the quote is be patient andtough.

(00:23):
Someday this pain will beuseful to you, and that's by
Ovid.
So let's set the scene.
Pain as a catalyst.
So pain is like a plot twist inthe movie of your life.
You didn't see it coming.
It's messy, but it has thepower to make you the hero of
your own story.

(00:43):
Turning pain into purposedoesn't mean ignoring the hard
stuff.
It means using it as fuel forgrowth, resilience and
transformation.
Story time.
So I downplayed and hid my trueself because I was
self-conscious.
Even though I could exude thatconfidence, deep down I did care

(01:05):
what people thought of me and Ithought that I wouldn't be
accepted and that I'd be judgedby those I cared for most while
hurting who I cared about themost.
So I created a brand thatshowcased people like me and
created a journal helping yououtline what you want in life
and currently writing an ebookto process my struggles, I

(01:26):
became a two-time entrepreneurthat strives to let others know
they're not alone, no matterwhat their path is.
With that being said, what'sone challenge you face that
you've learned from?
How has it shaped who you aretoday?
I want to show you someresilience and action and tell

(01:48):
you about a few experiences ofother transformations that I've
witnessed.
One of my mentors was a teacherand felt like he hit a dead end
until he stumbled uponfinancial services.
It took some time, but he madea choice, ran with it, stayed
committed and now, 20 yearslater, he is in the top part of

(02:09):
his region and has dozens offolks he mentors to do the same.
I also have a family memberthat was a victim of domestic
violence and had to flee andstart over from scratch.
She started her spiritualjourney amongst all of that and
made it a part of her business.

(02:29):
She's even planning to take itto schools to talk to young
girls and share her story, soturning pain into a path to let
other people know that they'renot alone and that they don't
have to go through that Now.

(02:52):
Last but not least, one of myfellow Grameen America members
battled cancer and now runsworkshops teaching others to
find strength and struggle.
You can find more info on thatat GrameenAmericaorg.
So I said all that to saybecause I want you guys to think
of a tough moment in your life.
If it were a chapter in yourstory, what would the title be?
I think mine would be a prettymess.

(03:13):
We're like it is what it is.
I'm human, I'm only two stepsahead of y'all, you know, and I
like to be as transparent aspossible.
But all of us have facades insome way and we're just trying
to make it.
We're just trying to figurethings out on our own.
So don't downplay yourself.
Take accountability and keep itmoving.

(03:33):
Now let's go through some stepsto reclaim our power.
Step one acknowledge the pain.
Pretending pain doesn't existis like putting bandaid on a
broken bone.
It's not fixing anything.
Take five minutes to writeabout a painful experience.
How did it make you feel andwhat did it teach you?

(03:54):
Step two find the lesson.
Sometimes the hardest momentsare our greatest teachers.
They show a strength we didn'tknow we had.
If your pain could teach aclass, what would the subject be
?
Courage, perseverance,compassion.

(04:15):
Step three take action.
Here are some tips for turningpain into purpose.
Create something like art, writing or a project.
Help others, for example,mentorship, volunteering,
sharing your story.
I challenge you.
What's one small step you cantake to turn your pain into

(04:39):
action?
Is it writing a blog post, joining a support group or
starting that passion projectyou've been dreaming about?
If so, take that one step today, even if it's just writing it
down on a piece of paper.
Come back to it tomorrow andadd something to it, and so far
and so forth.
Step four celebrate yourprogress.

(05:00):
Healing isn't a one and donedeal.
It's like learning to dance.
You'll stumble, but every stepforward is worth celebrating.
Let's reflect together.
What's one way you've grownstronger through a challenge?
How can you honor that growthtoday?
Now let's talk about thatripple effect.

(05:21):
Okay, the ripple effect ofpurpose has impact on others.
Turning pain into purpose islike tossing a pebble into a
pond.
The ripples of your storyinspire others to create their
own waves.
Have you turned pain intopurpose?
I'd love to hear your story andmaybe share it on a future

(05:42):
episode.
If your life were amotivational movie, what would
your tagline be?
Think big, this is your momentto shine.
What would your tagline be?
Think big, this is your momentto shine Now.
You didn't choose the pain, butyou can choose what to do with
it.
Your story has power and isstill being written.

(06:04):
Think of yourself as a phoenix.
Yes, the fire hurts, but it'salso where you rise stronger and
more vibrant than ever.
What's one way you'll reclaimyour power today?
Write it down, Say it out loudand believe it.
You're capable of incrediblethings and, with that being said

(06:28):
, if this episode resonated withyou, share it with someone who
needs encouragement, and don'tforget to let me know.
How are you turning your paininto purpose?
As always, always, love.
