An attempted assassination on a president should stop a nation in its tracks, not blend into the weekend like background noise. We sit with that chilling “new norm,” then ask the harder question: what are we doing to each other with the way we talk, post, mock, and accuse?

We trace how political violence, conspiracy theories, and media rhetoric collide in real time. When leaders and influencers pour gasoline on polarization, someone out there eventually treats it like permission. We also confront how fast conspiracy thinking spreads after tragedy, including the ugly narratives aimed at Erica Kirk following Charlie Kirk’s assassination. For us, that kind of talk does not protect truth, it fractures people, stifles faith, and sabotages the revival we have watched spark across the country.

Then we pivot to what rebuilding can look like. We react to a rare, hopeful moment of public unity and we talk about the surprising power of a well-timed speech, including King Charles speaking to Congress with humor, respect, and a reminder of shared identity as America nears its 250th birthday. We end where we began, anchored in faith: Psalm 133 and Ephesians 4:3 make unity plain, not passive, and not easy. Unity is intentional, it takes restraint, and it starts with how we show up at home and online. If you want fewer fires in the public square, it begins with refusing to light matches.

Subscribe for more real talk, share this with someone who needs a reset, and leave a review with one place you think unity should start first.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
It certainly signifies something absolutely
crazy about the life and timesin which we live when an
attempted assassination on apresident is just another
Saturday night.
From the new norm of America toa unifying speech from a king,

(00:20):
to advise from the highest king, all that and more on today's
episode of Share the StrugglePodcast.
Let me tell you something.
Everybody struggles.
The difference is some peoplechoose to go through it and some
choose to grow through it.
The choice is completely yours.
Which one you choose will have avery profound effect on the way

(00:44):
you live your life.

(01:43):
Am I so excited to be back withyou?
Oh, it is true.
It is damn true.
Episode 303 between me and you.
That means 303 consecutiveWednesdays.
We have gathered here together, sharing our stories, embracing
our journeys, releasing ourstruggles.

(02:04):
Woo! The truth shall set youfree, boys and girls.
Woo wee! Episode 303, and it'sback to just you and me.
Before I get rock and roll ontoday's show, I want to say
thank you to my beautiful wifefor being transparent, for being
courageous, for being willing tosit down, to open hersel up, and

(02:28):
to sharing her story, sharingwhat it is she's going through,
what she's growing through, what's holding her back, what's
keeping her back, and what she'sovercoming, who she's becoming.
Sharing all those things withyou these past two weeks have
been incredible.
It's been great for me to justsit back and shut up and listen
to my wife.
Because far too often in life wedon't let people finish their

(02:51):
sentence before we chime in withour own opinion.
I'm guilty of it.
You can imagine I'm guilty ofit.
I always have an opinion, right?
It's been great over the pastcouple weeks to hear from my
wife.
She is going through a lot, sheis succeeding in what she is
doing.
And there is more to come fromher.
There's more stories to come.
You're not gonna believe some ofthe things she continues to go

(03:14):
through.
But those are the things thatmake me proud of her to call her
my wife.
And we all have struggles,right?
We all have things that we arethat we are going through, that
we are growing through, that weare dealing with.
My wife has a lot on her plate,I have a lot on mine, I'm sure
you have a lot on yours.

(03:34):
I want to start by saying toeach and every one of you much
like my wife has been saying, give it to God, trust in God.
If he allowed it, he will bringyou through it.
We are hardened by the fire.
Many of us are going through thefire right now.

(03:55):
Please remember that fire doesnot destroy gold, it refines it.
And fire does not weaken steel,it strengthens it.
Whatever it is that you're goingthrough, whatever it is that
you're dealing with, you'regonna get through.
You're gonna succeed, you'regonna pull through, and it's
gonna make you a bigger, better, stronger version of you.

(04:17):
I'm proud of you.
Keep on doing you.
You will pull through.
This too shall pass.
On the opening of today's show, the uh the b-roll, the credits
of the show, whatever it is youwant to call the intro to the
show, I mentioned what a crazyday and times that we live in

(04:39):
when an attempted assassinationon a sitting president just
basically becomes anotherSaturday night.
It feels like we've been throughso many of these that we're not
we're losing the luster ofthese, like we're we're not
recognizing the severity ofthese, the importance of these,

(05:00):
the disturbing actions of all ofthese.
We need to call this out, weneed to cancel this out.
I want to give you the personalexperience of myself and then
just some of the things thathave been going through my mind,
or some of the things that um Ihave witnessed on TV, and just
kind of putting all thosetogether into this little

(05:22):
boiling pot of me.
I'm gonna set the scene bysaying Saturday evening.
I find myself in the middle ofanother late night working
session for Loud Proud American.
It's been a lot of uh earlymornings and late nights.
Saturday was another one ofthose nights just trying to make
ends meet and to meet deadlines.

(05:43):
So I'm in the office.
Little Paisley is fast asleep.
Allie is spending time with herfather, and she sends me a
message and says, I saw onTikTok that there was a shooting
close by to the White House.
Near the White House, there wasa there was another shooting,
and uh she said, I just put uhFox News on, and there was

(06:04):
another attempted assassinationon President Trump's life.
So I'm wrapping up what I'mdoing, and I come upstairs and
we sit down together as afamily, and we're just watching
what's happening, and I thinkthat everybody listening knows
what's happening.
So you have this another crazyleft-wing lunatic runs into um

(06:26):
this hotel conference roomgathering.
This is the White Housecorrespondent dinner.
The president's present, uh, thevice president, many, many, many
high-ranking members of hiscabinet, and then all the
reporters that would be involvedin reporting from the White

(06:47):
House or just political involvedreporters.
So there's a couple hundredpeople that are at this dinner,
and this lunatic runs throughsecurity, tries to barge in with
a shotgun and multiple weapons, and gets into a you know a
shootout situation.
Y'all already understand whathappened.
But I'm sitting on the couchwatching this, and I'm thinking,

(07:10):
how many more of these have tohappen?
And I keep thinking about thefact that what is this, number
five for assassination attemptson the president?
It's uncanny to me.
I I can't even fathom what'sgoing on.
I come from a time that theseare all acts that you would
learn and read from historybooks.

(07:32):
This isn't modern history.
This is the type of history thatI learned in middle school, in
high school, that I read inbooks.
These assassination attempts onpresidents, successful
assassinations of presidents, those are from history books.
It's not supposed to be a partof modern history.
What we're seeing play out livein front of us is disgusting.

(07:54):
What we're seeing played outlive in front of us is not being
condemned.
I don't understand it.
We have the opportunity rightnow to change the direction of
history.
Because if we continue to allowthis to happen, someday the
unthinkable could happen.

(08:15):
I don't want Little Paisleyreading in a history book some
of the history that I had toread as a child.
It's mind-blowing to me thatthis does not get handled the
way it should.
It doesn't get the attentionthat it needs.
These assassination attempts, these are classes and lessons

(08:38):
discussed from history books.
Now they happen and they don'tget a week of mainstream media
attention.
It's mind-blowing to me.
Yet we continue to have thetemperature turned up by some of
the democratic leaders in thiscountry.
You have Jasmine Crockett whocalled this entire thing fake.

(09:01):
She called this attemptedassassination fake.
And there's newspapers outthere, I don't know if it was
Wall Street Journal or New YorkTimes, whoever it was, that did
a research um poll on this, andI guess they were just searching
all the articles they could findbased off of Saturday's events,
and one in five of every storythat is published is focused on

(09:26):
it being a conspiracy.
Now, I gotta tell you, I'm overall the conspiracy nonsense.
I'm over some of this shit, man.
Some things happen in front ofyou, and you need to realize
that that's real life.
That happened in front of you.
This isn't all being created todistract you.

(09:46):
Some of these things are justactually happening.
I know we've earned the right tobe cautious, but a conspiracy
theory over every damn thing inlife is nauseating and it's
paralyzing.
And speaking of this, we want totalk about assassination.
So let's draw a connection here.
Because one of the most horrificthings I've seen, one of the

(10:08):
most heartbreaking things I'veseen from this event was video
of Erica Kirk bawling her eyesout, running through the
hallway, because this gunfire isgoing off, and she's just crying
that I just want to go home.
I want to point this out becauseafter the assassination of
Charlie Kirk, I mentioned, I hadfull episodes where I discussed

(10:31):
this is the opportunity for usto witness the next great leader
in this country.
And one of these next greatleaders actually being a woman,
being Erica Kirk, because theway that she showed dignity and
strength and courage and powerand got up and spoke and did
those things and led TurningPoint, I was inspired by it.

(10:54):
But you know what has happenedsince conspiracy theory after
conspiracy theory, that now shetried to get her husband killed.
It was she was behind it.
Turning point was behind it.
This is all nonsense to me.
And I want to say this to thosethat are out there that are
criticizing Erica, they'rethey're calling out Turning
Point, and they're saying thatthey they worked against Charlie

(11:18):
and had him assassinated.
People are saying this.
This is wild.
And as I am on the road uh forLoud Proud American, and I'm
selling freedom t-shirts and I'mselling live like Charlie
t-shirts, I'm getting theseconversations.
These people are coming up to meand they're saying, I would love
to wear that shirt, but I don'twant a dime of that to go into
Erica Kirk's pocket.
And I would say, Listen, I amnot affiliated with Turning

(11:41):
Point USA.
I'm not affiliated with EricaKirk, but I love and respect
them and what they're doing.
And I've had so many people cometo me and then just go off about
Erica and all these things thatshe's a part of to uh supposedly
have gotten her husband killedand all these different
theories.
And and I said, listen, I justlet's just find some common

(12:03):
ground here.
Let's just let's just level onsomething for one for one moment
and and see where we're at here.
Because if you're coming into mytent and you're inspired by that
freedom t-shirt, that God familycountry, when you're inspired by
living like Charlie, faith overfear, then we have a common
ground here.

(12:24):
We have a Christian faith commonground here.
So both of us believe, and bothof us want more people to
believe, and both of us feelthat if more people believe,
then this world's gonna livewith more peace, right?
I think we can also agree.
After Charlie's assassination, arevival started.

(12:45):
A revival started in thiscountry.
I put my two feet, I used mylemon pepper steppers to walk
into a church for the very firsttime, and part of that for me
was honoring the legacy ofCharlie Kirk, and in doing so, I
spent far more time in my Biblesince the death of Charlie Kirk

(13:05):
than I did in the 40 plus yearsleading up to that moment.
There's a revival.
When I watched his entireceremony, his entire celebration
of life from from opening toclose on YouTube, and millions
and millions did the same thing.
That's a revival.
When people were not afraid toput their hands up and say

(13:27):
they're Christians, that's arevival.
When more and more people wentto church, when Bibles were
selling out, when I sat in theseat at the church and heard the
pastor say to me, We've neverseen the attendance that we're
seeing right now.
That's a revival.
So when you speak hate, when youspeak ignorance, when you give
credence to conspiracies, you,my friend, are stifling the

(13:51):
movement.
You, my fellow God follower, arestifling the revival.
You're halting the revival, youare snuffing it out.
That is what the devil wants.
That is what everyone whodoesn't believe wants.
They don't want the revival tohappen.
Therefore, how do we infiltratethe revival?

(14:11):
Let's attack who's left.
Let's divide Turning Point andErica by saying the most hateful
thing you could possibly say.
That's a rant I didn't expect togo on today, but I got
goosebumps today because itinfuriates me today, because
we're all here for the revival.
Don't you be a part of theconspiracy to end the revival?

(14:32):
Sorry about that.
That's that's a different note.
I gotta I gotta breathe for aminute.
But seeing Erica crying andscreaming that she wants to go
home, it broke my heart.
It absolutely broke my heart.
And as I say it and I thinkabout it, what the people that
I've encountered on the road, and now my program reaction is
always don't stop the revival, don't feed into the conspiracy.

(14:54):
Even if you feel that certainway, I don't need you out there
sharing it every damn daybecause you are stopping the
movement, and that's not whatthis is all about.
After another attemptedassassination on our president's
life, he takes the podium, turnson a microphone, and delivers in
the face of fear.

(15:15):
A calm, concise, confidentspeech.
And in his speech, he says, Thiswas an event dedicated to
freedom of speech, and it issupposed to bring together
members of both parties, alongwith members of the press.
And in a certain way, it did.
I saw a room that was totallyunified, something you don't

(15:38):
always see.
And he went on to say morethings there, but he talked
about unity and calling forunity, and that this needs to be
a time that maybe this is asign, maybe this is an
opportunity for us to stop, toturn down the hate, to unify,
and to do what's right.
This is a time when theDemocrats have had uh they've

(15:58):
denied funding for DHS, forhomeland security, for border
patrol, for ICE for months.
And if we think about this, thiscreates the most vulnerable time
in American history when itcomes to us being attacked from
either outside of our borders orinternally here at home.

(16:22):
Because we're not funding someof the most important people to
protect this great country.
So it doesn't feel like acoincidence to me that Democrats
are not funding members thatshould be or organizations or
branches of military andprotective services that are
here to protect this country, that are here to protect our

(16:43):
leaders.
If you have people that aren'tgetting paid, you're creating an
opportunity for chaos to be had,for these types of things to
happen.
That in itself is ridiculous.
And it should have been resolvedby Monday.
Congress should have gottogether on Monday and said,

(17:04):
We're done with this, we'refunding this, we're moving on
from this.
This is American safety, thisneeds to happen.
You have a president that takesthe podium and says, Let's unify
us.
I was proud to see members ofall sides caring and being
compassionate and loving theones that are in this room.
That was a beautiful thing.
We were united for a moment.

(17:25):
Instead, you have Democrats likelike Jasmine Crockett saying
that this was fake.
This was all created, thiswasn't real.
You got Hakeem Jeffries beingasked if he will turn down the
rhetoric and he says that he'scontinuing to double down on
calling for maximum warfare.
You see, Democrats back violenceif it's justified in the name of

(17:49):
progress.
They think it's justified toeliminate our current president
for the progress of theirmovement.
You have former FBI directors,James Comey, posting 8647.
You think about these theseleaders, you think about these
supposed democratic leaders, orthese these high-ranking members

(18:13):
of the media and of Hollywood.
One of the most crazy things Iheard leading into this weekend
was from Jimmy Kimmel, who, bythe way, to steal a word from
the president, he's a completeloser, okay?
He gave a fake speech in frontof the White House on his show.

(18:35):
I don't know if it was amonologue or but I don't even
watch his show.
But he had it staged where itlooked like like a b-roll
footage, so it looked likemembers um, you know, from from
Trump's cabinet and members ofthe press were in the audience,
and Jimmy was giving a speech.
During his unfunny speech, hewas referencing Melania and

(18:57):
saying how beautiful she is, andhe said, Mrs.
Trump, you have the glow of anexpected widow.
You have the glow of an expectedwidow.
What what are you doing here, man?
What are you doing?
He he since then, now PresidentTrump and Melania have both

(19:19):
asked for him to be fired, and Ithink he should.
Because people are gonna say,oh, it's freedom of speech.
He can he can say what he wantsto say.
Yeah, but it's also it's alsolike a freedom of influence.
You have the freedom to causeand affect and influence people.
I shouldn't be giving you, granting you the opportunity to
come into my household fivenights a week and speak hate to

(19:44):
me.
You understand what I'm saying?
We don't need to give you aplatform week after week where
you speak hate.
You don't need to be provided aplatform on one of the biggest
networks in the country to sayyou have the glow of an expected
widow.
Now here's the thing.
His apology is I was referencingthe fact that he's nearly 80 and

(20:07):
she's younger than me.
There's crazy lunatics out therethat take it a whole different
way.
And Jimmy, I kind of feel likeit's the way you intended it.
You're referencing anotherassassination on our president,
and then just a couple shortdays later, some lunatic tries
to assassinate our president.
Let us not forget that JimmyKimmel isn't far removed from

(20:30):
the man show, where thehighlight of every show was
chicks jumping on trampolines ortheir boobs falling out, which
let's not say that I'm not a fanof, but he's denying the roots
in which he comes from.
He's denying how many times hedressed up as blackface and
painted his face black, whichthat canceled so many people in
this country, but it was okayfor Jimmy to do it.

(20:52):
He was a sexist son of a bitchon his show, and here he is now
taking the high road.
Which, if we're talking aboutthe high road here, how do some
of these influencers, some ofthese people with platforms,
these late-night talk showplatforms, not even reference
the Democratic member who had toresign because he is being

(21:15):
charged for drugging and rapingwomen?
And there is multiple womencoming out and saying he drugged
me and he raped me.
You don't reference any of thosethings.
But you want to try to attachour president to Epstein files,
you want to attach our presidentto rapes, you want to do all
these things because you'remanifesting hate, because you're

(21:38):
breeding hate, because you'reyou're you're expanding the lens
of violence.
Because, as they have alreadysaid, violence is justified if
it is all part of the progress.
Violence is justified in thename of progress, and the
biggest way they can take theirmovement is by the biggest,

(21:58):
largest forms of violence.
Jimmy, I hope you get fired.
You're a useless, sorry excuseof a comedian.
For years I've talked aboutmainstream media breeding hate,
encouraging violence.
I've talked about all theseleaders that are using their
platforms for the wrong things.

(22:20):
This is another example.
When we look at the manifestofrom the the latest, craziest
piece of crap that tried toassassinate our president and
many hundreds of other innocentpeople in that room on Saturday.
His manifesto reads as amainstream media manifesto, if

(22:44):
you ask me.
Onto why I did any of this, I ama citizen of the United States
of America.
What my representatives doreflects on me, and I am no
longer willing to permit apedophile, rapist, and traitor
to coat my hands with hiscrimes.
This is a mainstream mediamanifesto.

(23:05):
You've read this hate, you'vecontinued to project this hate.
You're brainwashing Americansnight after night into hate and
into violence.
You're taking some of the weak, you're feasting on the weakest,
and you're filling them withhate.
Shame.
Shame on you.

(23:26):
I come from a time whenpresidents and presidential
families were protected.
When I grew up, there wasn'tnews channels spreading hate and
lies and discontent aboutpresidential families.
They weren't attacking theClintons' kids.

(23:46):
They didn't even talk aboutObama's kid.
None of these things happened,right?
But here we are, week afterweek, all these mainstream media
attack every member of Trump'sfamily.
They're attacking his wife, thefirst lady.
This is nonsense.
We come from a time when thesepeople were protected.
I've listened to so many people, and I'm not trying to make

(24:08):
that's a total political episodetoday, but people are
complaining about thepresidential ballroom that
President Trump is building thatAmerican taxpayers aren't
putting one dollar into.
American taxpayers aren't payingfor that.
Trump's paying for that, investors are paying for that,
and people are still in outrageabout it.
They didn't go in outrage whenPresident Obama put in a

(24:30):
basketball court, but Trumpwants to put in a ballroom,
which, if that ballroom has notbeen stopped, if that ballroom
was finished, that ballroom wassecure, nothing like this would
have happened.
And we continue to have some ofthese big pivotal leaders.
For example, we had a king visitAmerica today.

(24:53):
If there's that big presidentialballroom, they can have those
dinners, they can have thoseceremonies, and they can be safe
and they can be protected by themilitary, and it doesn't cost
the American taxpayer a dollar.
Stop the nonsense, stop puttinga stick in the spoke of every
single tire that it has that ismoving in the direction that

(25:15):
Trump wants to roll.
I'm over it.
It's absolutely ridiculous.
Now, speaking of a king, today Igot to sit down and watch a
speech in front of Congressgiven by King Charles.
I thought I was witnessinghistory.
I was fully enjoying andappreciating every single

(25:36):
moment.
It was a great speech, it wasdelivered perfectly.
He was witty, he was funny, hewas charismatic, he was
heartfelt, he was honest.
I loved every minute of it.
I am a sucker for a good speech.
King Charles today in front ofCongress delivered a great
speech.
It's heartwarming and and andand satisfying for me to think

(26:01):
about witnessing history.
Sitting on the couch with mylittle baby girl, witnessing
history.
The last time this happened,King Charles' mother gave a
speech in the 90s in front ofCongress, and here he is now
fulfilling, living in his hismother's footsteps, so to speak,
right?
He delivered a tremendous speechtoday.
It was witty, it wascharismatic, it was funny.

(26:23):
I enjoyed all of it, and it wasuplifting, and it resonated with
me because it was a speech onunifying America and unifying
both countries.
And it felt like his speech washim standing there in front of
all of us on the cusp ofAmerica's 250th birthday,

(26:45):
reminding us who we are.
He was standing there remindingus who we are, and he received
standing ovation after standingovation.
I think there was a dozenstanding ovations, and I gotta
say, I was scanning the crowdand I was watching and I was
looking because the one thing Ididn't want was to be
embarrassed.
I didn't want to be embarrassedby Democrats not standing up

(27:09):
because I've watched manyaddresses where you could bring
out, you could bring out goldstar families, you can bring out
parents that they've lost theirkids to uh to murders from
illegal immigrants, you can youcan bring out sick kids, you can
bring out whatever you want, andthese democrats won't even stand
up for them and clap.

(27:29):
So I'm sitting here todaysaying, please, please don't
embarrass us.
And to their credit and toeverybody's credit, nobody
embarrassed us.
They stood up, they clapped, they gave a standing ovation,
they were unified, and it was aglimpse of hope, and it was a
time to show what is possible.
I remember times when everybodystood and clapped for things

(27:51):
that we all agreed on.
Now, Democrats can't stand andclap even when they agree
because they're fearful of whatis going to be written, what is
going to be said when they geton their feet and clap for
something that the presidentdid.
That's no way for this countryto move forward.
Today, King Charles reminded uswho we are, and it showed us

(28:12):
that we can be unified.
It was a great thing to see.
It was a great speech to seetoday.
The greatest bit of irony for meis that all these Democrats that
are behind every no king'sprotest found a king today that
they were proud to stand up andclap for.

(28:35):
Y'all have no king's protestholding up traffic, keeping me
from dunking donuts lines everyfreaking weekend in every state
across this great nation.
No king's protest.
I got kicked out of a parkinglot in Tennessee.
Thankfully, I peed in theparking lot where these crazy
lunatics had to stand for theirno king's protest.

(28:59):
Today, they all stood for aking, and they all clapped for a
king.
During this episode today, themost common word, the one that
you heard most today, was unity.
I said it a lot today, and a lotof leaders have said unity.

(29:20):
People post about unity, theytalk about unity, but what does
it actually mean?
And most importantly, what doesit require of us?
So on this day, where we werecap King Charles giving his
speech to Congress, we're gonnaend today's show with advice

(29:42):
from the highest of kings, thegreatest of kings.
Psalm 133.
How good and pleasant it is whenGod's people live together in
unity.
How good and pleasant it is whenGod's people live together in
unity.
Notice it does not say it iseasy.
It says it is good and pleasant.

(30:04):
Unity isn't automatic, it isintentional.
Ephesians 4 3, make every effortto keep the unity of the Spirit
through the bond of peace.
We need to focus on that line, make every effort.
Unity isn't passive, it takeswork, it takes restraint, it
takes choosing peace when you'drather be right.

(30:27):
I wish our politicians wouldrealize the truth.
Unity doesn't mean agreement oneverything, it doesn't mean
ignoring differences orpretending everything is fine.
It means you value people morethan winning arguments.
It means you stay at the tablewhen it'd be easier to walk
away.
It means you choose connectionover division, even when it's

(30:50):
uncomfortable.
Unity isn't something we waitfor, it is something we build in
our homes, in our relationships, and how we speak, how we listen,
and how we show up.
Because at the end of the day, unity isn't about being the
same, it's about choosing tostand together anyway.
And I beg and implore of eachand every one of you, as I say

(31:12):
to you, when I change me, wechange we.
You understand?
When you change you, you changewe.
It starts with us, it startswith you, the individual, me the
individual.
When I change me, we change we.
When we choose to look and feeland view and act different,

(31:33):
eventually everyone around usstarts to view and act and be
different.
When we change us, we begin tochange all of us.
I love and appreciate each andevery single one of you.
I hope and pray that today youmade it from beginning to end.
I hope you took the the word ofthe gospel to start the day, and

(31:55):
we ended it the same way.
We sandwiched in the middle somepolitical divide.
We talked about a great momentin U.S.
history with King Charles givinghis speech.
We've talked about one of thedarkest times in history with
another attempted assassination, but we started on good faith and
we're walking out today's dooron good faith.

(32:16):
I appreciate each and every oneof you, and I thank you for
standing here with me, forlistening from bell to bell with
me.
I hope today something matteredfor you.
I hope today is a catalyst forchange for you.
Today's an opportunity for youto change some way you feel
about something, because whenyou change you, you're changing
all of us.

(32:36):
