Sharise Parviz (00:00):
Oh, good morning , we are off on a walk.
Okay, I just talked to myhusband after I um made my
episode yesterday and I saidokay, so how long is our, is our
path walkway, and our walkway,I guess, is a half a mile long.
Okay, all right, so I don'tknow.
I think it's, I don't know,2000, 2600, something like that.
Feet, I'm not sure anyway, butthat's nice to know because that

(00:23):
means something like that.
Feet, I'm not sure anyway, butthat's nice to know because that
means that I am walking a mileevery morning doing this podcast
.
Half a mile to usually takes meabout half a mile to get down
to the lower level and then Icome back up.
So that's pretty good, that's amile first thing in the morning
.
That's super well, almost firstthing in the morning.
All right, I am hoping you arehaving a good day Today.

(00:46):
I thought I would just talk toyou a little bit about because
today I am starting stage one ofthe GAPS diet.
Just to recap so I started onSaturday, right, I prepped all
day Friday, and then Saturdayand Sunday I did a liquid GAPS
fast Friday, and then Saturdayand Sunday I did a liquid gaps

(01:08):
fast and that's basically gapsagain is gut and physiology
syndrome or gut and psychologysyndrome.
And so the liquid fast isbasically meat stock, just the
liquid, no solids, fermenteddrinks like beet, kvass, cabbage
tonic, vegetable medley andherbal teas.
And I chose herbal teas.
I like herbal teas anyway, so Ido lots of different herbal

(01:29):
teas ginger tea, mint tea I didsage, parsley milk, thistle tea,
all the things that would.
Cleaver's tea, all the thingsthat would are detoxifying
Detoxifying to the liver, detoxifying to the kidneys and
also detoxifying detoxifying tothe liver, detoxifying to the
kidneys and also detoxifying tothe lymph system as well.

(01:50):
Cleavers is great for the lymph, all right, and of course,
water with lemon.
Lemon is also wonderfullycleansing and stimulating and
that's the first thing I do inthe morning.
I get up in the morning and thefirst thing I do is 16 ounces
with a juice from a half of alemon.
So and so that is the GAPSliquid fast.

(02:10):
And so I did that for two daysand then, um, then, on Monday
that was Saturday and SundayThen on Monday I was like I'm
not quite ready to start eatingsolids, a lot of solids.
Right now I really feel good.
So I decided on Monday andTuesday that I would do the
liquids all through the day andthen around four or five o'clock

(02:32):
I would go ahead and have afull bowl of meat stock which
would include the liquid plusthe meat and vegetables.
And so I did that and I feelreally good.
I have now lost five pounds, which I feel fabulous, and I
know that that is basicallywater weight, like I mentioned

(02:53):
yesterday, that you know first, when you um, when you're working
on losing weight, for instance,or you're doing any kind of uh,
you will, people lose weight, tend to lose weight right away,
and most of the time I mean youmay lose some fat, but most of
the time right away.
That is that's water, right, that is water weight and that is

(03:14):
good, because when you areflushing that water out, that
excess water out, you are alsoflushing toxins.
So you know it's, and then itwill start to slow down.
The weight loss begins to slowdown and which is fine.
That's completely normal and toabout.
You know, a good, healthy, really a good healthy weight
loss is anywhere from, you know, one to three pounds a week,

(03:39):
right, and that is healthy inthe fact that you're not going
to be losing muscle and you'renot starving yourself.
Now you could lose more, youcould lose a little less.
It doesn't make any difference.
In some weeks you may not loseany and you plateau, and then
you pick it up and you start tolose more.
So it could fluctuate, butanywhere between one to three

(03:59):
pounds is normal and average fora healthy weight loss.
That I should say a healthy fatloss, because that's what we're
working on.
We're not working on losingmuscle, we're looking working on
losing fat, but initially thewater weight that goes.
You know.
Again, it's just, you reallyreduce inflammation.
Well, come on, come with a walk.

(04:19):
You reduce inflammation, you'rereducing toxins out of your
body and, and those are all goodthings, anyway.
So what I thought I would sharewith you today is what GAPS 1
looks like, and I got my littlecheat sheet here because I have
so many different.
I have a little cheat sheetthat I make for all my clients

(04:41):
and my groups that have all ofthe six stages of GAPS as well
as the full GAPS diet.
So on stage one you still doall the stock and you can have
any kind of meat stock you want.
You really just want to makesure that the stock that you
have are fatty meats, so notmuscle meat, like when you go

(05:03):
and you have a steak, but allthe meat that's around the bone
like a shake a leg, because youwant that collagen.
It's that collagen that is sobeneficial for healing and
sealing the gut.
So if you have leaky gut, thenthat is what you and most people

(05:25):
do today, with all theprocessed foods and toxins that
we inhale and swallow, andchemicals and antibiotics and
all of this stuff that we are,you know, taking in on a daily
basis.
The problem that most peoplehave, if not all people have,
who have issues, is leaky gut,and so the meat stock helps to

(05:47):
heal and seal the gut.
So you really want to just makesure that you're getting eating
the fatty, fatty meat off the,for your stock Could be fish
stock, chicken stock, duck stock, turkey stock, any kind of
stock, any kind of meat, doesn'tmatter, but you just want to
eat all the fatty parts.
Oxtail is wonderful for makingmeat stock too.

(06:07):
Now you can take those meatstocks you have your meat stock
and, just like I had yesterdayand uh on monday and just eat
the.
You know, you cook your meat, you put your vegetables in it
and you cook your stock and youcan eat that as a soup, right,
right, just like I did with allof it.
Together it's a full meal.
You could also blend it.
So if you want to do more of ablended soup, this is also stage

(06:31):
one.
You take your stock and youtake some vegetables.
You can cook the vegetables inthe stock.
Some of these are differentvegetables, whatever you want
cauliflower, carrot, what haveyou and then you add butter and
your good sources of fat and youblend it to make a blended soup
.
So blended stoops, meat stocksum, also organ meats.

(06:52):
This is when you introduce organmeats uh, liver, it doesn't
matter any organ meat, liver, spleen uh goodness.
Um, kidney, right, kidney iswonderful.
And what else do I like toreally?
I usually make a liver dishonce a week that we eat either
liver pate or I will saute someliver up.

(07:14):
Now, usually this is not stageone is sauteing, but this is
what I typically do.
Normally is to saute liver ormake liver pate throughout the
week and then we eat itthroughout the week.
But all kinds of the organsorgans are just phenomenal, so
super nutritious for you.
And I won't go into all of thatright now, I'm just going to

(07:36):
give you an overview.
Animal fat super important, andwe're talking tallow and we're
taught which is beef fat orchicken fat, schmaltz or, oh
goodness, duck fat or you knowany kind of pure animal fat also
.
Wonderful butter right, um, andghee.

(07:56):
Also probiotic foods.
So we've been drinking thebrine from the probiotic right,
the probiotic drinks, thefermented drinks.
Now we're going to start addingin the food.
So like sauerkraut, uh, ferment, so fermented sauerkraut is
typically what is normal, andthen you can start fermenting
other vegetables as well, um,and then of course, you can

(08:19):
still continue with your herbs, continue adding garlic to your
soups and stocks, adding.
Also you could start adding incultured, fermented dairy and
you would start with whey andthen then do kefir and go
through.
This is through the stages asyou tolerate kefir, or actually

(08:40):
you go with whey and then youwould go with yogurt or cultured
cream and then kefir and you doall of your wonderful cultured
dairy.
So the biggest thing that's abig that I guess is a change
from what I'm doing for mymodified fast is now I'm having
meat stock or blended soupsthroughout the day for my meals,

(09:00):
as well as adding some organmeat throughout the every day, a
little bit every day, and, ofcourse, additional animal fats.
So that is stage one.
That's just a quick overviewand again, eventually, as we
progress on this podcast, I willgo into more detail, and you

(09:24):
know.
And then also, when I start tooffer my courses online, I will
go into more detail and you know.
And then also when I start tooffer my courses online, I will
go into a lot of detail.
But that's just the start.
So that is what I'll be doingtoday, starting in on stage one,
and I'll probably stay there.
I don't stay, or recommendstaying on stage one more than
three days, one to three days, especially after coming off of a

(09:44):
liquid fast.
You know I'm continuing theenemas, but if you weren't doing
enemas you could getconstipated.
So you really kind of want to.
You know, as long as you'retolerating the food and you're
not having any issues, you moveforward after at least three
days or maximum three days, notleast maximum three days, all
right, so that is gap stage oneoh, so what did I want to share

(10:09):
with you?
Oh, interesting enough.
Well, here's kind of.
You talk about, um, I don't know, god working, god works, I mean
you just he just does so, um,yesterday I had a phenomenal day
of doing all the things that Iwanted to do on my retreat.
I did my yoga my cat is meowingat me, yes, it's okay, come on,

(10:30):
yeah, it's all good, come onand doing my yoga and my
meditation.
And then I went ahead and wentto the gym, because I wanted to
go to the gym yesterday, and Idid some cardio work and I did
some weights and I came home andI did some jazz dancing.
Oh my gosh, it felt so good andI realized, oh, oh, how much I

(10:52):
miss dancing, you know.
Oh, I mean, it's just my.
You know, for me, dancing isit's my spirit.
You know, when I dance, andwhether I'm on stage or just
dancing, it is the closest, doesn't matter.
I could be just in my backyard, but when I'm dancing is when I

(11:15):
feel closest to God.
It is the place where I am mostat home.
And it's funny, you know, thatplace that I am most at home is
the first place I neglect, isn'tit Not awful?
I think that's pretty common, unfortunately, but yeah, it is.
And getting back into it, youknow, oh, I'm not very fit about

(11:36):
it right now.
I'm like, oh, my God, mymuscles today hurt, and that's
good.
I love it when my muscles hurtthe next day because I know I
worked them and I like that.
But yeah, it was, yeah, it wasamazing.
And I thought to myself allright, what is the next thing I
want to burn?
Burn my boats on?
What is the next thing?
I'm ready.
What's the next island I wantto burn?
Burn my boats on?

(11:56):
What is the next thing?
I'm ready.
What's the next island I wantto take?
What's the next?
And I thought I want to get backto my dancing.
I mean, I want to get back tomy professional level of
training and fitness level, because I miss it.
I miss it.
I haven't been dancing forreally three years and because

(12:18):
of the move and the and my housebeing overrun, you know just
all the stuff.
You know life, life gets in theway.
And I decided, yeah, I want toget back to my um performance
level, dancing again, back intomy skills.
And it's like, oh, but I'm 55years old, how can I do it?
Yeah, I'm 55 years old and I'mgoing to do it.

(12:39):
There's no reason not to.
There's no reason not to.
Age is just a number.
I had to come back and realizethat again, but it's true, age
is just a number.
You know, I think about thatsometimes.
I think, you know, if I wake up, sometimes I play this game
with myself and I've used itwith clients as well.
So if you woke up and you hadamnesia, right, and you

(13:03):
remembered all the good things,so all the loved ones, all your
loved ones, you remembered allyour loved ones and all of that,
you didn't forget any of that.
So so don't worry.
All the good stuff in your lifeyou remembered.
But for some reason you justhad amnesia for the things that
weren't so good right, and forall the limitations that you

(13:24):
felt you had in your life ormaybe you actually did have in
your life.
Or if you didn't know how oldyou were and all the records
were lost.
Let's just, we're justfantasizing here, we're just
playing, and all the recordswere lost.
Let's just, we're justfantasizing here, we're just
playing.
But let's say you woke up andyou couldn't remember how old
you were.
You couldn't remember what youdid for work if you worked right

(13:46):
, you couldn't remember what youdid.
You couldn't remember any ofthe expectations that you had
for yourself, others had of you.
All of that was gone.
You remembered your loved ones, though they're not gone,
they're there.
But all the expectations, allthe shouldas, all the regrets,
all of the, all of the stuff, the, the limited thinking, the,

(14:14):
anything that held you back, allof that you didn't remember.
Who would you be, who could yoube, how old would you be?
How would you perform yourresponsibilities as a parent, as
a grandparent, as a spouse, ahusband or a wife, as a parent,

(14:36):
as a grandparent, as a spouse, ahusband or a wife, if you had
no expectations that wereinfluencing you, what would you
do?
How would you live?
How would you decide to live?
Because now it's just open,it's for you to decide.

(14:56):
And when I think about that, andI think about that, for me I
don't feel 55.
I mean, I really never, everfelt my age.
And I thought, and when mymother passed and I think I
mentioned this you realize atthat time when your parent
passes at least I did, I shouldsay, but I've also heard this

(15:17):
from others as well that whenthey, when a parent dies, you
realize your own mortality.
You know, you're like, oh, itjust kind of hits you in the
face.
And then, for me, I startedgoing oh my gosh, I'm the next
generation to go, I'm gettingold.
Well, there was those words.
Now, my whole life I have beendancing and performing and

(15:39):
whenever I heard someone say, oh, you know, my feet hurt because
I'm getting too old orsomething, they would say
something about their age andhow it was limiting them.
I literally just ignored it.
I was like Teflon.
The only time I did nonstickwas I would not let those
thoughts enter into my brain, into my cells, into my being

(16:01):
whatsoever.
I just I would like look away.
I was like, oh, I dodged that.
I dodged that.
I would like that's not for me,that's not for me.
And that worked for a long time.
And then, when my mother passed,it was like, oh my God, I felt
old.
Immediately I felt old.

(16:24):
I felt, oh my gosh, you know, the average lifespan in the
United States is 79.
, 79.
, 79.
And I'm thinking, well, not forme.
But I'm like, oh my gosh, youknow, and I'm 55.
What you know, I mean, yourealize one a the great thing

(16:47):
about realizing your ownmortality is that don't waste
another moment, don't wasteanother moment in regret.
Do make the most of everysingle moment.
So now, when I wake up, likeLord, use me every day, not just
with my clients, not just withmy classes, not just with my
groups, but when I walk intothat grocery store or I go into

(17:08):
that coffee shop or wherever I'mgoing, let me be a blessing and
let me appreciate every momentthat I'm in, because now more
than ever, I realize I willnever get them back.
So I do take my days moreseriously, in the sense of being

(17:31):
more alive and aware and livingand more available and taking
the opportunities that come tome to appreciate the beautiful
sky when it's not chemtrailed, the beautiful white, fluffy
clouds that we're supposed tohave in the sky.
Appreciating the flowers thatgrow along the side of my road

(17:54):
and seeing them and being awareof them.
Appreciate my kitty who meowsat me because I'm moving too
fast for her.
She's a short little, squattylittle kitty.
So all of these things now Idon't take for granted and I'm
like you know, I'm not going totake another moment.
Live another moment in my life,in the second part of my life,

(18:14):
this new spring, the second halfof my life, making decisions
that I know will lead me toregret later.
So from this point forward, Ihad decided no more.
No more just letting time fly.
Take advantage of everyopportunity on this earth.

(18:36):
And so, for that was a greatthing that I learned.
But I still felt like, oh, butI was starting to get a limited
thinking about my age and Inever had that before.
But again, I think you know, when you realize you're the next
generation to go, you start togo oh, okay, we need to get

(18:57):
together.
And again, having that pressureis good because you don't waste
your time anymore.
But I realized, hold on, don'twaste your time anymore.
But I realized, hold on, that'snot.
Where did that belief come from?
Like I mentioned yesterday, where'd that belief come from
that didn't originate for me.
You know that, oh, I'm at acertain age, everything falls
apart.
I'm getting too old to doanything.

(19:17):
That didn't originate for me,that didn't come from me.
That's not an original thought.
All right, I'm hearing it fromother people.
It's not my thought.
That's a thought that was puton me and I'm rejecting it.
I'm rejecting it.
So there is no reason that agehas to be a limiting, unless we

(19:40):
believe it is.
It's our perception.
It's not reality, it's ourperception of reality.
If my reality, the reality is,I'm 55 years old, what's I can
have the perception of?
Oh, I'm getting old, I'm goingto wear down, I'm going to start
getting sick and blah, blah, blah, blah All that is normal in
, or I should say common in our,in our society today.

(20:02):
So I can have that perception,or I can have the perception of
I'm 55.
Life is exciting.
I am going to and I lovechallenges.
I'm very I love to bechallenged.
I am going to defy what'snormal and what's common in the
world today.
I am going to be fitter andstronger and healthier than I

(20:27):
was 20 years ago, 30 years ago, whatever, and I'm going to be
the best I can be.
I'm not going to be 20 again,I'm not going to be, but I why
not?
Why couldn't I be healthier ifI choose to be?
Why couldn't I reverse mybiological clock?
Why couldn't I make it gobackwards?
My chronological I can't, butmy biological I can.

(20:50):
So why not?
So that is the perception I'madopting.
I am burning the boats on thenegative thinking.
And I'm 55.
It's all downhill, it's over.
Give up on your dreams.
So I decided I'm going to startdancing again and get back into
my, my dancing on aprofessional level again.

(21:14):
So that's where I am and I'mreally excited about it.
And today, when I was doing myyoga and I was doing my
devotions during my yoga time, Ithought all right, it's time to
get out of the boat.
Right, to get out of the boat.

(21:34):
And that is what I have decidedto do.
And I read this was in mydevotional and I'll share it
with you what miracle would Imove into if I only had the
courage.
What adventure would I advanceif I gathered my strength?

(21:56):
What dream and destiny would Idance into if I dared to step
out into the waves and into thewind, and what beauty would the
world behold?
And this was the passageMatthew 14, 22, 33.

(22:18):
Ye of little faith.
Why did you doubt when Peterwas stepping out of the boat and
lost his faith and started todrown?
And Jesus grabbed him and saidye of little faith.
Why did you doubt?
So I found it interesting thatwhen I decided I'm going to

(22:39):
start dancing again on a skilledlevel of where I was previously
that what dream and destinywould I dance into if I dared to
step out into the waves andinto the wind?
And if I burn the boats so I'mburning the boats on that it's

(23:00):
too late for me that it's toolate to be the absolute best
that I can be, so maybe that'ssomething for you to think about
.
Let me read it again.
What miracle would I'm going toread it for you what miracle
would you move into if you onlyhad the courage?
What adventure would youadvance if you gathered your

(23:23):
strength?
What dream and destiny wouldyou dance into if you dared to
step out onto the waves and intothe wind, and what beauty would
the world behold?
So something to think about.
Are you ready to step out?

(23:44):
Maybe there's something you'vebeen holding back from thinking
it's too late, you're not worthyof it, or any other limited
thought that has kept you frommoving forward on something
that's just itching inside ofyou, something that you just
can't let go of.
It's like holding on to yourleg, like a puppy nipping at

(24:05):
your heel.
Is there something?
Maybe?
Just step out, step out of theboat, burn the boat.
And what's the one thing thatyou could do today?
Simple, easy, to get started inmoving in your new direction,
in creating that beautiful,beautiful thing.

(24:27):
What would you need to believeto move out into it?
What would you have to give upbelieving Things to think about?
All right, have a gorgeous dayand I look forward to talking to
you again.
