In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes seven through nine of Kimi Ni Todoke! In episode seven, Sawako, Chizu, and Ayane go out for ramen to a local shop. Sawako learns that the shop is owned by Ryuu’s family, and they live above the store. They spend the evening hanging out in Ryuu’s room and invite Kazehaya over. In episode eight, Sawako’s friends encourage her to call them by their first names. However, she struggles to call Kazehaya “Shota”. Pin forces Kazehaya to become a committee member for the upcoming sports festival. His middle school friend, Kurumi, is also on the committee, and it’s evident she’s trying to become closer to Kazehaya. Kazehaya helps Sawako practice soccer for the sports festival. In episode nine, Sawako is enchanted by Kurumi and hopes to become friends with her, and the feeling seems to be mutual... or is it? Kazehaya struggles to call Sawako by her first name.
Grab your spoon, and let’s dig in!
Note from Giana: Apologies for any background noise! My apartment by a busy intersection has been less than ideal for recording, but I’m planning to move to a quieter place in March 2025. Thanks for your understanding!
