Carrie Saunders (00:00):
Ever feel like
your business is evolving faster
than your brand can keep up.
Maybe you've added new offers, new audiences or just plain
outgrown a name you started with.
That's exactly where I foundmyself lately, and today's
episode is a little bitdifferent.
This is a goodbye, but not tothe podcast.
It's a goodbye to the nameeCommerce Made Easy and a warm
hello to what's coming next arebrand.
(00:22):
I've been quietly working onbehind the scenes If you've ever
tuned in for website tips, conversion strategies, seo
guidance or simply to feel alittle less overwhelmed with all
the things tech you're going tolove where we're headed next.
In this episode, I'll walk youthrough why the change is
happening, what's staying thesame and what's getting even
better, and how it all benefitsyou.
(00:43):
Stick around to the end.
I'm sharing a quick behind thescenes moment from one of my
early podcast episodes.
That still makes me laugh, solet's dive in.
Welcome to the e-commerce madeeasy podcast.
I'm your host, Saunders.
When we started this business, all I had was a couch, a laptop
and a nine month old my maingoal to help others.
Now, with over 20 years in thee-commerce building industry and
(01:05):
even more than that in webdevelopment, I have seen a lot.
I love breaking down the hardtech into easily understandable
bits to help others besuccessful in their online
business.
Whether you're a seasonede-commerce veteran or just
starting out, you've come to theright place, so sit back, relax
and let's dive into the worldof e-commerce together.
Welcome back to the show.
(01:29):
When I started this podcast, itwas designed for my e-commerce
clients first.
Back then, e-commerce made easymade total sense as a name.
It was simple, it was clear andit served the audience I was
working with the most.
But over the last year or two, something started to shift.
More and more of you listeningare course creators, coaches,
digital service providers orpersonal brands.
There are also e-commercelisteners in here too, but I
(01:52):
realized I'm helping all of youwith the same core thing turning
your website into the smartestsales tool.
The name e-commerce made easydidn't fully reflect that
anymore in what I was deliveringto, so it felt a little too
narrow for the content we'realready creating and where we're
headed next.
So, first off, what is stayingthe same?
(02:13):
First, you are all stuck withme still as your host.
Hopefully that's a good thing, and this show will still be full
of website strategies andstructure tips, just like we
always have done.
Conversion boosts that you canactually implement.
Seo help that doesn't require adegree in data science.
Interviews with real businessowners and experts that we all
(02:34):
love.
And the same friendly breakdown, the tech style you've come to
expect.
So the content is stayingbasically the same.
So if you enjoyed this podcastso far, that's not going
anywhere.
I have gotten such greatcomments on our content and our
podcast so I don't plan tochange where we're going with
the content at the moment, because it seems to be serving
(02:56):
you guys great.
So what is changing is the name.
We're going to still have thesame similar core content where
we are helping all onlinebusiness owners, whether your
e-commerce or your serviceprovider, get your website to
actually work for you.
It needs to be your best salestool, it needs to support you
and it needs to be a living, breathing thing.
(03:17):
So we're going to be keepingthat core theme and that core
content to help all onlinebusiness owners, not just
e-commerce, get their websitesthriving.
The new name, smarter OnlineBusiness, reflects a broader
mission to help you build abusiness that's sustainable,
strategic and actually supportsyour life, not drains it.
(03:38):
Most of our clients are eithera few-person operation, one to a
few person operation.
Some of them are largecorporations, large, big
operations, but it all comesdown to the same thing we need
to support your life and yourbusiness, not your business run
your life.
So we're going to be helpingyou with that.
So what are we going to expectnext?
(04:00):

our new name Smarter OnlineBusiness.

this show into what it's beentoday, and many of you have
provided feedback on socialmedia to help me with this

and whenever I've started givinga little sneak peek on what the
new podcast art is going to be.

(05:47):
from one of my earlier episodes.
I had just recorded the introseveral times and actually what
a great cute one of the cats isstarting to play in a box in my
office.
So maybe I don't even need togo to one of the first episode
recordings because our sillyoffice cats are always making
noise and I'm not sure it's abreed cat, it's a girl cat.
(06:10):
I'm not sure what she's doing, but she's decided she wants to
get in a box in the corner of myoffice so hopefully it's not
too loud on the episode.
So yes, for this podcast.

words of how this is helping youand how our podcast is helping
(06:53):
you.
So growth is messy.
We just had a little messyinterruption by the Miss Brie.
Cat Evaluation takes courageand hitting record, even when
it's not perfect, is where themagic starts, just like I've had
to do several times with ourlovely guest appearances of our
silly cats.
I'm so excited to step into thenext chapter with you and we
(07:15):

Online Business.
