In this riff episode, we explore the powerful truth that life is happening in the smallest moments—and it’s happening right now. Through personal storytelling, poetry, and reflection, you’ll be reminded of the beauty in the everyday and invited to reconnect with your inner child, your present self, and your purpose.

You’ll hear:
🌱 A special reading of the poem “Life Is Happening Right Now” — inspired by the tiny, sacred moments of everyday joy
🌱 A story from childhood and the breakthrough that came from inner child healing, breathwork, and remembering self-worth
🌱 Why we grip tightly to the past or future—and how to soften into the ebb and flow of the present
🌱 A reminder that you are already becoming the version of you you dream about—and you can begin again, in every single moment
🌱 The deeper purpose of somatic work: coming home to love, self-trust, and the truth of who you are

This is an episode about presence, permission, and choosing to live fully now—not later. Whether you're navigating change, healing old wounds, or simply needing a gentle nudge to return to yourself—this one’s for you.

So if that is something thatinterests you, you can sign up

(01:27):
And yeah, let's dive intotoday's episode.
So I really would love to sharewith you this concept of
present moment awareness and aconsciousness shift that I've
been experiencing.
That, I think, is just so funand I'm really loving it.
So I wanted to share that withyou and kind of just riff on

(01:49):
this topic.
And so, if you do follow me onsocial media, on Instagram at
raythesomaticcoach, I recentlyshared a post about this idea
that life is happening right now, and this was a writing piece

(02:09):
that I received from a.
It was inspired from a poem bythis woman called Lori Wagner
and she does a lot of creativewriting, and she shared with us
a poem of hers with theintention of inspiring us to
write our own, have our ownwriting, and this is something

(02:31):
just in general.
I've been doing more of justwriting in general and I've been
loving it.
It's been so much fun, it'sbeen such a creative outlet for
me.
And talk about bypassing theinner critic or bypassing
perfectionism.
If you do any kind of creativewriting and you really just like

(02:53):
, let yourself write intuitively, that inner critic is, you know
, out to lunch.
So it's really, really fun.
I've been loving it and Iwanted to share the poem with
you here as well, so I'm goingto read it to you now.
Life is happening in thesmallest things.
It's waking up next to myhusband wrapping me in a warm

(03:15):
big hug.
It's running to the store toget ingredients for matzo ball
soup and my mom saying come overby 4 30 tomorrow, but we'll
really be there earlier.
It's gathering.
It's seeing my siblings atleast the ones who live close
enough talking about who knowswhat and laughing and having a
good time together.
It's the smallest things.

(03:37):
It's going to the local coffeeshop and greeting now familiar
faces, yet also, but perhaps nowacquaintances because of how we
see each other.
Weekly on Fridays, it'sordering a milkshake instead of
a cup of ice cream, becausethat's different and unusual for
you and for some reason thatmakes it taste better.

(03:59):
It's going for a walk down tothe water just because you like
to and just because you can.
It's the smallest things.
Life is happening right now inthe smallest things, and I share
this piece of writing with youin particular.
Again, if you've been followingme on social media, you've
probably been seeing that a lotof what I've been sharing is

(04:22):
more just like an expression ofmyself and my writing.
Really, I've just been sharingdifferent writing pieces.
That's what I've been doing, soit's been really fun.
But, yeah, I share this withyou, this concept that life is.
Life is happening right nowbecause we have these

(04:45):
conditioned responses.
You know we have these.
Like if someone were to ask youhow are you, you probably have
a conditioned response of howyou would respond.
You'd say like, oh, yeah, likethis, and you know I did this
today.
Or you know whatever it mightbe this and you know I did this

(05:08):
today.
Or you know whatever it mightbe.
But what would happen if youmoved as the current version of
yourself today, so not theversion of you from years ago,
not from the inner child, notfrom our wounding, and if you
came to the annual reflectionworkshop that I host every year
in December?
You may have heard me shareabout my personal biggest

(05:31):
breakthrough in 2024, which I'dsay like eight months that I
really had no idea was evenpossible there, and it's been so

(05:54):
amazing for me to be able toexperience that.
But what I can share is evenyou know, I grew up playing
soccer competitively as a childand you know I was really
freaking good, like I was.
I traveled the world.
I, you know, I played inArgentina.
I played in Israel.

(06:14):
I played in college.
Like this was my passion, thisis like something that I really
really enjoyed doing.
But while I was competing as akid, I really never thought that
I was actually that good.
I really never thought that Iwas good enough.

(06:43):
It's funny, it wasn't untilreally until I was in college
and I decided in college that Iknew I wasn't going to want to
play after college.
Like I was really eager to findout more about myself and who I
was outside of this sport, andthe sport was so much of my
identity that I really justwanted to know myself in a
different way.
And so it really wasn't untilcollege that I was like all
right.
Well, if this is going to be,you know, my last few years

(07:05):
really competing and doing thisthing that I like really love,
then I have to like think thatI'm good.
I have to like think that I'mgood and have as much fun as
possible, and so that's what Idid.
Basically, it was like adecision.
I remember the day where I waslike, all right, I think that

(07:27):
this feels complete for me aftermy senior year of college and I
think I was a sophomore at thetime and I was like, all right,
well, if this is the case, ifthat's the case, then these next
two or three years need to belike the best years ever.
And they were we.
Like my senior year.
We made it.
We won our conference, we wonour division, we made it to the
third round of NCAAs.

(07:48):
Like I was the captain, like Ireally I really went big, I
really lived it up.
But anyway, I share this becauseI was able to discover the part
, that part of myself, that partof myself that like really just
didn't think I was good enough.
And I got to meet with theseparts of myself again and again

(08:10):
and again through inner childwork and doing breath work and
connecting with the truth of whoI am, the truth of who I am,
that I am worthy, that I am goodenough and that a sport or
performance doesn't define who Iam.
And it was through theseexperiences that I learned more
about my own unique inner lightand my unique gifts and that we

(08:35):
all have our inner light and weall have our purpose and then we
all have our worth and that youare a beautiful orb of light
with magic, and so is the nextperson, so is the next person,
and it's like we all have ourown magic.
And that's why I really loveinner child healing and breath

(08:58):
work so much, because it returnsme back to myself, back to love
, it removes the illusion thatwe're so conditioned to
experience, we're so conditionedwith these responses.
And what would happen if youallowed yourself the permission
to begin again, to start freshand begin again and begin again

(09:23):
and begin again.
And you know, take the time andthe space, yes, to heal the
past wounding and meet thoseinner child needs, and take
moment, that time with yourself, yes, of course, and then, from
that place of feeling whole andfeeling complete, then move
forward, because you are alreadydoing the things that this, if

(09:45):
there is like a dream or apassion of yours or a way of
being that you want to be, youare already on your way there.
I always say you're already onthe path, you're already doing
the thing.
And so, yes, sometimes we needto do the deeper work to get
there.
Yes, those moments will happen, but can you move through the

(10:06):
ebbs and flows of life with easeand let yourself to let and
give yourself the permission tobegin again, and begin again in
each moment, because life ishappening right now.
It's not happening five minutesago, it's not happening five
minutes from now, it's happeningright now, here, in this moment

(10:30):
.
And sometimes we're movingthrough those ebbs and flows of
life and we try and like, holdon to things.
We hold on tight, you know, andhold our breath and we, we grip
and we're like, oh, likeanother change or like another
shift or another pivot.
And something that I think I'vegrown to learn is like we're

(10:53):
constantly in these changes, like we're constantly like thing
, like life is moving, like mylife is ebbing and flowing.
And what would life look likefor you and what would happen if
you really allowed yourself thepermission to let things die
and end so that they can berecreated, rebirth and brought

(11:19):
into new form?
And what would happen if youallowed yourself the permission
to begin again right now, inthis moment, and then again in
this moment, and then again inthis moment, and then again in
this moment, because life ishappening right now, it's not
happening five minutes ago orfive minutes in the future, it's

(11:39):
happening right now.
So, if there is something thatis on your heart, if there is a
business that you want to create, if there is a new job that you
want to apply for, if there isa creative endeavor that you
want to take on, if there issomeone that you want to hang

(12:01):
out with or talk to, it could beanything.
Listen to that nudge, listen tothat voice inside of you that
is pushing you along in adirection that feels really good
, towards what your personalvision is.
Personal vision is and, even ifit is a slow, slow process, you

(12:27):
are already doing the thing.
You are already on the path andyou are already on your way
there.
And how can you allow yourselfto soak in all of the goodness
that is happening in this exactmoment while you are on your
path to what you are doing, toyour vision, to your dream?
And that is what I have for youtoday.
I think that's everything, yep.

(12:48):
So I hope that you enjoyed thisriff on.
You know, life is happeningright now.
It's all in the smallest thingsand I hope that you, if you
have any, have any, you know, questions or comments.
