at hello at rachelecraftcom.
All right, so let's dive intotoday's topic.
I would really love to speakwith you about this idea of
wholeness, and this idea ofwholeness is something that I
think has been on my heart for avery long time, and it's been
(02:50):
really nice to bring somecontext and some structure to
what I think is really at theroot of a lot of the long-term
one-on-one work that I do withmy clients, the long-term
one-on-one work that I do withmy clients.
So for me personally, I didn'talways feel this sense of
wholeness.
For a very long time.
(03:14):
I felt like I was wavering.
I felt disconnected from myknowing, from my body and my
expression, my creativity, myexpression, my creativity.
For a long time I felt blockedor like I had to stay small in
these areas.
And even this year, in the pastsix to eight months, I've had
(03:35):
so much growth and so manybreakthroughs in these areas.
So if you've been following meor connected with me for a long
time, maybe you've even seensome of those shifts which is
pretty awesome Growing in realtime, like always really nice.
And just yesterday I waslistening to a podcast with Abby
(03:58):
Wambach and Glennon Doyle and Iabsolutely love them,
especially if you've listened toit the past few episodes.
You know I'm like a soccerchick at heart and so Abby is
like oh, she's so freaking cool.
So she shared on this podcast.
She shared a lot about herstory of being a retired athlete
(04:19):
and she calls herself arecovering athlete and so much
of her story resonated with meand what I've experienced over
the past few years of reallydiscovering myself and what my
values are and who I am in theworld outside of sports.
And I think for a long time,because I was such a competitive
(04:44):
athlete, my purpose was basedaround performance and it was
around winning, and it wasaround competing and working as
a team and being surrounded by ateam and community.
And you know, that's what mypriority was for a very long
time was for a very long time, and then going on this journey
(05:11):
of really learning more aboutmyself and experiencing life and
discovering more of my identity, and I discovered that I really
just wanted a place to expressmyself authentically and feel
safe doing that, because thatcan feel very scary for a whole
laundry list of reasons, depending on your history little
(05:32):
t, big t, trauma, childhoodroles that you've taken on
throughout your life and so forme, I really wanted to express
myself outside of being aperformer, outside of being
someone who competed, and Ithink that's one of the reasons
why I love my business and why Ilove what I get to do, because
(05:55):
it's not about performance, andI think that it wasn't always
that way.
When I first started my business, I mean, it was new territory
Some days it absolutely still isnew territory and and, like
about a year ago, I really putpause on my business.
I switched to bi-weekly podcastepisodes.
(06:19):
I stopped pumping out content.
I was like putting out a lot, alot of content and I was also
making that content.
This was like before TrashyPT,so this was like.
Now I feel like if you want topump out content with ChatGPT,
you really I mean you could doanything.
It takes a lot of the time.
(06:39):
It saves you a lot of time ifyou wanted it to.
I don't use ChatGPT for mycontent, but I definitely use it
in ways in my business.
But anyway, I'm going on an AItangent.
This was before AI and so todayI could not tell you like what
a trend is right now.
(07:00):
Like I'm not like against themby any means, but it's just like
not the part that I'm feelinginspired by.
Right now.
I'm really feeling inspired bycreativity and joy and
authenticity and how I can sharemore of myself authentically
(07:23):
and express myself authenticallyin a creative way.
That feels really good for me.
And so, yeah, like right nowyou're witnessing me kind of
build things back up in mybusiness in a way that feels
really good and that looks likehaving the retreat in October.
That looks like switching backto weekly episodes on the
(07:47):
podcast.
I just rebranded the podcast, Ijust redid my website.
Like things are kind of comingtogether really nicely in a way
that feels really authentic forme and really expressive for me
and like this is a part of myart, this is part of my life's
work and it's going to changeand shift over time and evolve
(08:08):
and I'm going to keep onclearing out the noise and
processing anything that comesup for me and working past you
know, illusions that I bump upto all the time so that I can
show up more for you and sharemore of myself.
So that is all to say thatfacing these challenges in my
(08:31):
life and also in my business, and doing the identity work, the
somatic work, breath work, regulating anxiety, the inner
child healing really is basedaround so many different parts
of myself, but one of them isloving myself outside of
performance, loving myselfoutside of what I am doing, like
(08:52):
how much I'm actually likedoing rather than being and who
I'm being as a human and justreally feeling connected to the
compassionate part of myself.
And I think parts work andinner child work is really what
had changed everything for meand allowed me to create and
(09:13):
share my art and my passion inthe world in a way that feels
authentically expressed, andI've helped so many of my
clients move through similarchallenges, whether it is a
similar actual core wound around, like athleticism and
performance, or if it'ssomething entirely different.
(09:35):
Lots of good girl conditioning, perfectionism, communicating
needs, knowing what your needsare, self-expressing yourself,
allowing your creativity andyour art and your joy to come
through.
And so all of these experiencesthat I've had with my
(09:59):
one-on-one clients, my ownjourney of finding wholeness.
I think there are three aspectsto it and I think this idea of
finding wholeness is really atthe root of it.
It's like the ultimate kind oflike return to ourselves, and to
(10:19):
me, wholeness is made up ofthese three things.
I think the first isself-compassion, so really
allowing yourself and givingyourself the ability to meet
yourself exactly where you're at, with the arising of what is
happening, and meeting yourselfwith love, meeting yourself with
(10:40):
a gentleness, with a softness, allowing yourself to be that
inner mother or inner father, that divine parent that maybe
you didn't always have or maybeyou did have.
And they there's, uh, misses, there's needs that still go
unmet.
Even if our, our connectionwith our parents wasn't this,
(11:01):
like you know, very traumaticthing.
Needs can also go unmet from, you know, friends, family,
teachers.
There's, there's moments thatcan happen.
It doesn't always have to bebig T trauma, it can also be
little t trauma, so anythingthat comes up, being able to
meet yourself with love andsoftness and gentleness.
(11:23):
And then I think the secondaspect of wholeness is really
around self-trust, so allowingyourself the time and space to
hear that inner knowing, to hearthe whispers of your intuition,
the whispers of your knowingcan handle anything that comes
(11:45):
your way.
So there is a sense of innerknowing and self-trust, in a way
(12:07):
that you have your own back.
You know that anything thatcomes up, you're going to be
able to meet yourself with whatis arising.
And then the third, one of myfavorites, I think part of
wholeness is self-knowledge.
And to me self-knowledge isreally being clear about what
(12:30):
your core values are, whatreally really matters to you,
what are your non-negotiables,who are you as a person and do
you have clarity around that andwhat means the most to you.
And I think that, for this ismore like identity work that
we're talking about here and Ithink over time that can change.
(12:55):
I think self-knowledge is well, all of them really
self-compassion, self-trust andself-knowledge.
They all can grow and they canebb and they can flow, and
throughout different seasons ofyour life things might change,
but having this sense of knowing, like knowing yourself, I think
is really powerful, especiallyfor confidence.
(13:16):
In particular, I think having asense of self-knowledge is
something that will boost yourconfidence pretty quickly and I
I think it's pretty incredible.
It's one of my favorite partsabout what I do is having this
moment with clients where we'reable to do this practice around
(13:36):
core values and around yourunique vision and what's
important to you, and it'sincredible what can happen and
what can stem from that.
Um, I don't remember what theepisode I share on the podcast
is, but it's something.
I think it was around NewYear's, so it's a few episodes
back and it's about, um, corevalues and if you're, if that's
(13:59):
something that you're interestedin, you can totally dive into
it just to get ideas orinspiration or just learn more
about it.
But I think that's a huge partof self-knowledge.
Just learn more about it, but Ithink that's a huge part of
self-knowledge.
And so, yeah, over time, on mypersonal journey of
self-discovery and growth, andalso in my experience in my
business working with myone-on-one clients, I found that
(14:22):
this sense of wholeness, thissense of really being rooted in
these three qualities ofself-compassion, self-trust and
self-knowledge is such a deepfoundation of the work, and if
any of those three buckets, ifsomething feels like it's
missing or you want it to feelstronger, then I think that that
(14:47):
is okay.
I think it's like a greatdirection to go in.
It's like asking yourself ifyou needed one of these three
things right now self-compassion, self-trust or self-knowledge
which might it be?
And also creating your owndefinition of what wholeness
means to you.
So this is at the root of mydeepest work, and I haven't
(15:11):
offered a one-on-one like along-term one-on-one program in
almost a year now, and so I'm soexcited to share more about
this new offering that I havecoming.
It's called rooted and radiant, and I will share more about it
in a future episode, and if youwant to know more first, you can
