Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey guys, it's Robin.
I don't know why I always sayguys like that's just my go-to,
even though it's mostly womenthat listen to this episode,
with a few amazing men.
So thank you guys for listeninglike literally guys, but I
don't know.
That's just what I say.
So sorry if you're offended.
I hope you're not.
I also hope you had a greatweekend and you've had a good
(00:26):
start to your week.
If you saw my Instagram reel, then you saw that I got to do an
indoor zip line on Friday.
That was super fun and, yes, Idid speed up the speed on the
reel because the video was alittle over a minute and my
videographer, dave, did anexcellent job capturing the
(00:46):
moment.
So, thanks, dave.
We have this new enormousfacility here in South Everland
Park.
I say here, I'm not here, I'min Lewisburg, but anyway, that
doesn't even matter.
So it has the zip line.
It's kind of like a Dave andBuster feel.
There's two different bars, there's a huge area for
volleyball and there's lots oftournaments that go on there.
(01:08):
I know that state wrestling wasthere a few weeks ago.
There's an ice rink which theyconvert into a soccer field as
well.
Let's see.
What else do they have?
Oh, they had some simulatorsthat we did.
So we did shooting and footballand baseball and bowling and I
rocked the bowling, by the wayand they also had cornhole,
which I do not recommend.
(01:29):
It was not realistic at all.
We had a hard time with thatone, but it was fun and if
you're in the area you shouldreally check it out.
It was not busy at all on aFriday night.
I was surprised.
I'm sure it'll catch on prettysoon.
Then on Saturday morning myoldest grandson, who is three
and a half, had his very firstsoccer game.
It was so cute, he did afabulous job in the warmup and
(01:51):
he looked so ready for the game.
So they do a 30 minute warmupand then a 30 minute game.
But once the game started likehe was right on the line, just
like the ref said.
But then once they startedkicking the ball around, he kind
of ran over and just sat downby mom and dad and spent most of
the time there.
Tears were shed and I think theissue was that he couldn't
(02:15):
understand why the other kidsweren't sharing the ball with
him.
I can't wait to see how nextweek goes and then how he
progresses over the season.
It'll be great.
Then, sunday, dave was in ahead-to-head cornhole tournament
.
My PPR wasn't high enough toqualify, so I played the role of
cheerleader and it's always somuch fun to watch those events
and even more fun to participate.
So I'll be working on gettingmy numbers up so I can be in the
(02:38):
lineup next time.
Okay, do you remember me tellingyou about the trip with my
sister to Florida, the one whereI packed my faithful little
black dress, only to realizethat, yeah, it was way too tight
.
Remember the boob fat?
Yeah, it was that trip.
So that was a wake-up call forme.
As I've mentioned, I knew Ineeded to make some shifts
(03:01):
because I've been carrying alittle too much extra fluff.
I don't know if you can relateor not.
One thing I've done I've uppedmy weights, which I talk all the
time about strength training, and you know how I feel about it
.
It's a game changer.
And let me tell you why theshift is so powerful.
It isn't just about lookinggood and toned I don't know if I
(03:23):
like the word tone, but anyway,it's about more feeling strong
and capable and energized.
You know, it helps boost yourmetabolism, it builds lean
muscle that keeps everythingtight and lifted, and it's one
of the best ways to keep ourbones strong as we age.
It's also a confidence booster,and there's something
(03:43):
incredibly empowering aboutlifting heavier, feeling
yourself get stronger andrealizing that, yes, you're that
woman who doesn't back downfrom a challenge.
And, let's face it, confidenceis pretty darn sexy.
We've talked about all thebenefits of strength training
here, and you'll hear more fromother guests and you'll hear
from me again, and I'm going tobe sharing more information in
(04:05):
my upcoming challenge that willkick off on, let's see, april
21st, and we are going to do athree-day nutritionally
supported fast, and I'm going toexplain what that is in just a
minute, so you can stop rightthere.
Or, if you want more, you'regoing to have the option of
following, along with cleaneating, strength training
workouts.
(04:25):
Group coaching calls text foraccountability for 30 more days.
So, besides upping my weights,I've also been making sure that
I get plenty of protein in theform of lean meats, protein
shakes and collagen.
I found a collagen that I likein water, which I'm happy to
share that information.
And then I also have collagenthat I use in hot beverages, and
(04:51):
Dave and I tend to eat out toomuch, so I need to get back to
cooking healthy.
It'll be less expensive andjust less time consuming too.
When you go out, you tend todrink more, you tend to eat more
and you don't know what's inyour food.
So we'll be getting back tothat too, and that'll be part of
the challenge also.
It's also been helpful for me tohave warmer temps so I can get
(05:13):
out in nature, which fuels mebeyond measure.
I can't even tell you there'snothing like a walk around the
lake with the sun on my face oron my back.
It is medicine to me.
Winter is hard, with all thegloomy days.
I love being outside, so thisis wonderful, and my walks have
gotten a little bit of afacelift too.
(05:34):
I've been adding a little bit ofinterval training.
It sounds silly and I don'teven care what I look like, but
I add some skipping in.
I add some skipping in.
I do some side shuffling, justsimple ways to get my heart rate
up without too much impact onmy joints and get the benefits
of the interval training gettingyour heart rate up and then
letting it recover and all ofthis will be incorporated in
(05:55):
this reset challenge that I havecoming up, and I really don't
think that the three-day fastwill be that hard.
I'm looking forward to it.
It's going to be through thePlexus Reset, so I just call it
my reset challenge too, and I'mjust going to read you what they
have on their website because Idon't want to mess anything up.
It says that Plexus Reset is athree-day nutritionally
(06:18):
supported fast designed to resetyour metabolism, curb cravings
and improve gut health byproviding essential nutrients to
support your body's natural fatburning and digestive processes
, all while maintaining leanmuscle mass.
This science-backed systempromotes weight loss and
improved body composition whilesupporting digestive harmony,
(06:38):
optimal nutrient absorption andreduced bloating.
Whether you've fallen into arut or starting fresh with
healthy habits, reset takes theguesswork out of fasting and
lays the foundation to achieveoptimal results.
So what I said by or what theymean by nutritionally supported,
you are going to get somesupplements that you can take,
(07:01):
and well, let me just read youthe list.
So you're going to get threepackets of their hydrate, three
packets of their lean wheyprotein, three packets of slim
hunger control, three packets ofcollagen bone broth, three
packets of their smart snackwhich says it's a blueberry
almond crumble that sounds goodThree packets of their active,
three packets of collagen soupand three packets of their
restore.
So you're still going to beeating and consuming things.
(07:21):
It'll be mostly in liquid formthree packets of their active,
three packets of collagen soupand three packets of their
Restore.
So you're still gonna be eatingand consuming things.
It'll be mostly in liquid form.
I'm doing all of this Becausehow I feel is directly connected
to my happiness.
If I feel crappy or bloated orfatigued, I'm not as happy, and
I kind of like the feeling ofhappiness and spreading that to
others.
It's kind of my thing.
(07:42):
These shifts are necessary tome, not just to be healthier,
which is a must, but alsohappier, which is non-negotiable
for me.
And yes, drinking less is partof it too.
I feel better when I don'tdrink as much or as many nights
consecutively.
It's easy to fall into a trap.
So there's no judgment here, none whatsoever.
(08:04):
I know that coming home from astressful day is usually
followed by a glass of wine ortwo or three.
I've done it too, and it seemslike so many activities we do
are surrounded by food andalcohol, and it can be hard to
peel away.
I had a life coach tell me thatthere's nothing wrong with
drinking a good wine if you cantruly like, savor it and
(08:26):
appreciate it.
And Dave and I actually havebeen going to the liquor store
together and picking out somedelicious wines that we both
like and then sharing thatbottle and talking about its
characteristics.
We were laughing about us theother night doing that, because
we truly do just sit and talkabout the wine.
It's been so much fun.
And I am telling you, davecannot smell anything.
(08:47):
He has a terrible sense ofsmell, but when it comes to red
wine, oh my gosh.
When it comes to red wine, ohmy gosh.
He can definitely pick up allof those notes.
He has the nose for it, forsure, and he's super picky,
which is funny because he usedto only drink apple wine and now
he's all about full-bodied redswith more earthy tones and
(09:09):
notes and high tannins.
Like, okay, now my mouth iskind of getting watery and I'm
supposed to be talking about notdrinking, all right.
Anyway, in a nutshell, my resetchallenge, like I said, will
begin April 21st and you can dojust the three-day nutritionally
supported fast and go on yourmerry way, or join us for
another 30 days afterwards toreally get a good jump on your
(09:33):
summer body, whether that meansshorts and a tank top for you,
or that skimpy bikini you do you.
I'm excited for you guys and Ihope that you're in all right,
(09:56):
your body and your little black.
I will get you more information, get you on the list and we
will make this happen together.
Thank you for listening.
