team was being honored, so I kind of framed my
speech around all that, but just the irony of it
that thirty one years after that night and Mike and
I were sitting in a football stadium in Houston seeing
Villanova win their next time with the Chris Jenkins shot.

So and yeah, I just talked about all the full
circle moments that had happened, but mostly it was just
to me. It was just a tribute to our staff
and all the great writers and editors and people that
were on it.

I think ten in that game, Dick was it. And
they didn't shoot threes, right, they.

mean don't.

mean there's stories that are endless. It was just it

was just a phenomenal night. On Thursday. I was thrilled
that Mike could be there and all of our guys.
It was just to share it with them and literally
everybody on our staff. And I said this, you know,
it was for all of us. It just happened to
be mine name, But I mean it literally could be
any on us or all of us. We were all
part of it. But we always thought it was one
of the great sports staffs in the history of the

Yeah, and I think it's gonna happen to Penn State
as well. I mean it's at home, and Indiana has

do it against everyone. He wants to make a statement win.
He wants to put up a bunch of points. He

Ohio State should be won because they're the defending national champs.
I understand their resume is not as good as Indiana's. Hell,
Indiana's resume is not as good as Texas A and M's.

to get to play them in the Big Ten title
game in all likelihood, and then we'll find out who's
the better team. But I don't think Signetty sees it

I took them last week again. Now they're taking no prisoners.
They're trying to get as high as they could get
into rankings, they can't get much higher than they are
already right two, so they they're remaining Big ten opponents
have a combined zero conference wins at this point, so

I thought John made the most salient point. Penn State's
offense is drift, yeah, yeah, and Indiana can score on anybody,
and Indiana's defense is really good. I'm shocked this is
only fourteen. I mean, I know it's a Beaver Stadium,
but I don't care who you are. If you're a
Penn State player at this point, and even the coaching staff,

we would be beyond the point where just the name
Penn State, you know, gets you some brownie points in

so they probably would had the one lef. But could
we be saying that it made the new organ game

put it all in a broader context, they never played
good this whole season.

that question is you'll never know. You would think, you know,
obviously that was very discouraging for a variety of reasons,
because they planned everything around that game, and then not
only that they lost, but how they lost. Yeah, I
mean they were totally outplayed and then they'd come back,
and there was there was actually a key call in

that game that people kind of forget. There was a
fumble that Oregon had they were up ten three like
as they were going into score yea, and they overruled it.
And I've still never figured out why they overruled it,
And that gave Oregon seventeen to three, gave him a cushion,
you know, that they obviously needed in overtime. But again,
I think the bottom line was Penn State was never

as good as the hype.

Penn State, really the only one that would beat them
pretty good was Ohio State, and it's usually yeah, and

ten but couldn't quite get over it. And it's so
funny looking now on the other side of this at

Indiana and how easily they were able to do it.

I don't know if they could beat Ohio State, but
how easily they were able to just pass Penn State

the Big Ten title game and they're both unbeaten and

High State's gonna be favored by more in a field goal.

Yeah, let's see how it plays out. I mean, look,
if they they got to me, the two best wins
of the year are A and M at Notre Dame
in Indiana in Oregon, right, I mean, aren't they the

They're top ten opponents on the road. Yeah, it's pretty impressive.
So yeah, I mean, why can't Indiana win? Yeah? I don't.

not believing in Pittsburgh. I'm just not buying it. Defense

this point, the expectation is he'll play tonight, rest tomorrow
for this back to back. Here at the end of
the day, there's still five and three. I think they've

still exceeded expectations. A larger conversation something not hitting the
panic button by any means, but uh, I will say
the amount of minutes that they're putting on Maxi and
edgecomb right now is insane. So they needed to get
McCain back up the speed and ready to log a
little bit of that workload.

a little bit of a new identity of let's let's
