Brad Powell (00:06):
Welcome back to the Standout Business Show, where
we help expert entrepreneursbuild a remarkable brand, stand
out in their market and win theclients you deserve.
I'm your host, Brad Powell, andtoday we're going to talk about
something that hits way tooclose to home for a lot of
brilliant service providers.
We're talking about the bigfrustration that no one talks

(00:29):
about.
Let's say, you're exceptionalat what you do, your clients are
getting real results and you'veinvested years, maybe even
decades, honing your craft, butdespite all that, you're not
seeing the traction you shouldbe.
If you've ever thought toyourself why am I still chasing

(00:50):
clients?
Or why do people with lessexperience seem to get more
attention?
Or why does it feel like I'mpractically invisible online?
Well, this episode is for you, because today I'm sharing five
signs that, even though you'rethe best at what you do, you're
still getting overlooked.

(01:10):
So let's see if any of thesesound familiar.
You're struggling to stand outin a crowded market.
You're surrounded bycompetitors who are offering
similar services and, let's behonest, not all of them are as

(01:32):
skilled as you are, but they'venailed their positioning.
They're known for something andyou, you might still be seen as
just another option.
So the truth is being good, just isn't good enough.
You have to be different in away that matters.
Number two your lead generationis sporadic at best.
If your calendar is swingingbetween feast and famine, and if

(01:57):
most of your leads are comingthrough referrals and word of
mouth, if you have no idea whereyour next client is going to
come from, this is a sign thatyour marketing isn't working for
you.
So what you need is a systemthat is consistently attracting
the right people, and these arethe people who see your value

(02:17):
and are ready to invest.
Number three your contentdoesn't reflect your expertise.
So let's say you're postinghere and there and you're doing
your best to stay active online, but the truth is a lot of your
content is feeling kind ofgeneric and you're not saying

(02:38):
what you really want to say, or,worse, you're following trends
that just don't align with howyou actually work.
So if your message isn'tattracting high quality leads,
it really might be time to stopplaying it safe.
Signal number four is you'reoverwhelmed by all the marketing

(03:00):
hype and all the marketingnoise.
You know the funnels, the ads,the reels, the email sequences.
Every marketing guru's got adifferent playbook that they're
trying to pitch you.
And if you're trying to do itall, that just becomes
exhausting.
It becomes this never-endinggerbil wheel and actually, as an

(03:21):
expert, you don't need moretactics.
What you need is a simpler, smarter strategy that actually
fits your business and fits yourbandwidth, the amount of time
you have or the amount of timeyou don't have.
All right.
Number five and this is thefinal one dear to my heart

(03:42):
you're not using video or videoyou're using it poorly.
So let's talk about trust.
If your next best client seesyour face, hears your voice and
feels your passion, they'regoing to be sold.
But if you're hiding behindtext posts or you're putting off
video because it's feeling toouncomfortable, you're leaving

(04:06):
the ability to make realconnection and conversion on the
table.
The truth is, video done rightdoesn't just build trust.
It sets you apart and it makesyour brand unforgettable.
And the need for video to showwho we are as a brand has never
been greater and it's only goingto grow over the next several

(04:28):
years.
I mean, right now, over 80% ofthe time that people are
spending online is watchingvideo.
All you have to do is glance atYouTube and TikTok to
understand why this is true.
For example, you can't just sayyou've got the best thing or
you've got the best people,You've got to show it in very

(04:51):
unique ways.
So here's my question how manyof those five signs hit home?
If even only one of themresonated with you, it's
probably time to take a closerlook at your personal brand,
your positioning and the wayyou're showing up online.
And the good news, you don'thave to guess as to where to
start, which is exactly why Icreated the Standout Business

(05:15):
Scorecard.
It's a free two-minuteassessment that helps you see
how your business stacks up whenit comes to market
differentiation, online presenceand personal brand clarity.
And, best of all, it gives youpersonalized recommendations
pulled from interviews that I'vedone with over 150 top experts

(05:36):
who've built thriving businessesin crowded, competitive markets
.

Forward slash scorecard and getyour standout score.
It might just be the claritythat you've been waiting for.
If you're the best kept secretin your industry, it's time to

(06:04):
change that, Because when youstart showing up with clarity,
confidence and the right content, your ideal clients won't just
notice you, they'll choose you.
Thanks for tuning in.

entrepreneur who's ready to stopblending in, and I'll see you
