Despite depriving his entire crew of some much need free massages and relaxation after the whole "Troi's betrothed jumping ship to chill with ebola Farrah Fawcett," Picard decides he's just too stressed to do his work and instead goes on a selfish adventure in the 1940s on the Holodeck, which apparently is like the Matrix in this episode because if you die in it...you die for real!

This is because it breaks down, so maybe they should read up about mechanical failures at places like Jurassic Park, because if your malfunctioning Holodeck can kill you, WHY ARE YOU USING IT!?

Dave mistakes a Vanderbilt at a 1940s police station clearing up some tax issues for a "lady of the evening" for no discernible reason, and I divulge pronunciation woes.

Featuring: Dr. Crusher clapping when her shipmate is shot! Wesley willing to take a 50/50 shot at saving his mother, with absolutely no emotion whatsoever or hesitation! Gangsters, seeeee?
