Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is there a major life
transition benching you?
I know you may be asking what'snext?
What's my purpose?
What if?
Because I've asked those too.
Welcome to the Start yourComeback podcast.
I'm Toni Thrash, a certifiedlife coach, and I want to share
the tools and practical steps tohelp you create a winning game
(00:23):
plan to move into your newadventure.
Hi, welcome back.
(00:57):
You are listening to episode 81.
Today's episode is for anyonestanding in the middle of a life
transition.
Maybe your world shiftedovernight, maybe you saw it
coming for months, but nowyou're here feeling like the
ground beneath you is unfamiliar.
I want to speak directly intothat space and bring in the most
(01:22):
powerful example of transitionwe've ever been given the death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Now, before you check out, thinking this is just another
Sunday school sermon, let mestop you.
This isn't about religion, it'sabout resurrection.
It's about what it looks likewhen everything falls apart and
(01:44):
how that very collapse is whatleads to your comeback.
Because, let's be real, lifetransitions feel like death
sometimes Divorce, job loss, retirement, empty nest, maybe a
diagnosis, a betrayal or a death.
These moments feel likesomething is being buried and,
(02:07):
in a way, something is.
But you see, that's not the endof the story.
Let's look at the transitionJesus went through.
Jesus didn't skip the hard part, he didn't avoid the suffering,
he walked straight into itbetrayed, beaten, abandoned and
(02:29):
crucified.
He died publicly, painfully butpurposefully, but he didn't
stay dead.
That transition from life todeath to resurrection was the
ultimate shift.
It was ugly, uncomfortable, dark and silent, and in that
(02:50):
in-between space nothing madesense.
Does this sound familiar?
You see, your transition mightfeel like you've been buried,
but resurrection starts in thedark, when you can't see the
next step, when everyone elsehas gone home, when the silence
(03:15):
is deafening.
That's when something sacred ishappening.
You're not stuck, you'replanted, and planted things grow
.
Here's what I want you to grabhold of as you walk through your
own transition.
There are three things toremember in your transition.
(03:35):
Number one death is a part ofthe process, but it's not the
end.
But it's not the end.
Jesus didn't bypass the cross.
He went through it, so will you.
The old life has to end so thenew one can begin.
(03:59):
It's not punishment, it'spreparation.
Let the dying happen and stoptrying to resurrect what God is
trying to replace.
Number two there's a silencebefore the comeback.
Between Friday and Sunday, theworld went quiet.
No miracles, no movement, justsilence.
(04:20):
That doesn't mean nothing ishappening.
It means everything ishappening underneath the surface
.
Trust the pause, trust thein-between, because God does his
best work in the hidden places.
And finally, number three thecomeback always starts in the
(04:42):
tomb.
Number three the comeback alwaysstarts in the tomb.
Let's remember the tomb wasn'tthe end of the story.
It was the beginning of thegreatest comeback ever written.
And the same is true for you.
If you're in the tomb, grieving, aching, adjusting,
surrendering, good, that's wherecomebacks begin.
(05:09):
Don't rush it, but don't youdare give up either.
Let me tell you something boldyour comeback started the moment
your transition did.
You didn't miss it, it didn'tpass you by.
It wasn't delayed because youdidn't get out of bed last week
or because you cried in your caryesterday, the very day your
(05:30):
old life began to fall apart.
Your comeback clock startedticking.
The cross wasn't the end, thetomb wasn't permanent, and
neither is the place you're inright now.
But, just like Jesus, you'vegot to rise.
You don't need to have it allfigured out.
(05:50):
You just need to decide.
I'm not staying in this placeforever.
I'm not living in Friday when Iknow that Sunday's coming and
listen.
Resurrection doesn't mean youreturn to the way things were.
It means you rise different.
You come back wiser, stronger,deeper.
(06:14):
You carry scars, yes, but thosescars tell the story of what
didn't kill you.
Scars tell the story of whatdidn't kill you.
So here's what I want you to dotoday.
Say it out loud I'm starting mycomeback Not when I feel ready,
not when the finances line up,not when everyone understands
(06:39):
Now, because the day yourtransition started was the day
your comeback did too.
You just didn't know it yet.
Starting your comeback doesn'trequire a grand gesture.
It starts in small ways.
You make the appointment, youwalk away from the toxic
(07:00):
relationship.
You walk away from the toxicrelationship.
You ask for help.
You get out of bed, you openyour hands and surrender what
you can't control.
Resurrection power isn't justfor Jesus, it's for you, right
here and right now.
If you're listening and youneed help taking that next step,
(07:23):
I want you to know I'm here,I've walked it and I coach
people just like you through it.
I help you rebuild what wasbroken, rediscover what you were
made for and to step boldlyinto your next chapter.
This isn't the end.
