If we know and maintain awareness of our marvelous gift of intelligence, our capacity for determination,

(00:09):
and our positive way of life, we generate a foundational good sense of mental health.
Hello, and welcome back to Stoic Spirituality, a podcast where I look through, dissect, and
analyze various quotes that I've read throughout the last few years.
My name is Joggen, and I'm a student of the human experience trying to spread some knowledge
out to the rest of the world.

(00:30):
This quote illustrates the idea of a foundational sense of mental health that is in the positive
realm.
So, a lot of us in society today are in an epidemic of low self-esteem, self-depreciated
jokes that have grains of truth in them in an attempt to seem more friendly to those

(00:56):
around you.
Constant demeaning and constant crushing of our goals by those around us, a sense of guilt
from procrastination, and many other negative factors in the world around us can blunt our

(01:19):
edge, can reduce our motivation, can stifle our discipline and determination, and can
overall cause our mental state to decrease.
However, with confidence in our own sense of self, confidence in our own potential,

(01:44):
knowledge of what we can accomplish if we put our minds to it, and the intention to
serve, to be altruistic, and to contribute positively to the way around us, the world
around us, and those around us, and a positive and outgoing outlook, we craft a sense of

(02:06):
mental health for us that is foundationally positive.
The art of happiness talks a lot about the idea of seeking happiness, seeking a sense
of positive encouragement, not only from those around us, but from our own self.

(02:31):
And something important to remember is that happiness, whether or not you seek it elsewhere,
is primarily found in your own self.
It is said that the most dissatisfied person is the one that earns less than $100 than

(02:56):
his neighbor.
Happiness is not generated as a result of achieving something, it's generated more
so out of a sense of self and who we believe ourselves to be.
And by having this determination, this understanding of our potential, we lay the foundation for

(03:19):
us to achieve simply by believing and generating the energy then to put in the work necessary
to reach that point.
That's the foundation of happiness, the foundation of good mental health, the foundation of a
better outlook for the future.
Thank you so much for listening to this episode on the idea of foundational mental health.

Boysober

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
