Bio: Lisa Ardner has over 20 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, trauma recovery, crisis intervention, and mental health. A Certified MINT® Trainer and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, she co-facilitates a monthly Motivational Interviewing Community of Practice Group. She is a founding member and contributor to the CNY Motivational Interviewing Learning Collaborative (MILC). Lisa holds a master’s degree in Adult Learning from SUNY Empire State University, where she teaches Human Services and Addiction Studies. She also is a volunteer faculty member at SUNY Upstate Medical College, supporting the MIND smoking cessation initiative.
Her credentials include Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC), and Master Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-M) through NYS Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS.) Lisa is an approved OASAS and training registry member for New York Credentialing Board (NYCB) trainer. She has several OASAS-approved programs, such as Motivational Interviewing (Foundations to Train the Trainer), Trauma Responsive Care, Healing From Loss, Journey to Wellness, Medication Supported Recovery and Embracing Families, which focus on family support in addiction treatment.
Known for her compassionate teaching style, Lisa is a sought-after speaker on Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Responsive Care, and the Nurtured Heart Approach, presenting to diverse audiences, including students and parents. She owns A Purpose 4 Life, LLC, a women-owned business in Central New York offering professional development training, consulting, and coaching.
