(00:26):
overwhelmed and stuck in cyclesof numbing. Each week, I'll

deeply relatable stories to helpyou step into the power pleasure
and purpose that it is to be awoman. This is your next
evolution of awakenedempowerment. Welcome to the
(00:47):
feminine way.
The show my beautiful listeners, okay, so last week, we talked
about Silent sobriety, and thisisn't about shame. This isn't
about hiding. This is aboutdevotion, developing a deeper
(01:09):
relationship to yourself, andreally the first principle of
the feminine way, which iscreating safety, right? And we
can't create safety fromwithout. We have to create
safety from within. So I've beenalluding to some of these ideas
(01:30):
of the feminine, and I thinkit's really important for you to
ask yourself, why is it evenimportant for me to be in my
feminine. What does that mean tome? And have I been functioning
in my feminine? Have I beenfunctioning in my masculine? And
the reason that I bring any ofthis up is because we are energy
(01:52):
beings, and there are in all ofphilosophy and probably
religion, we see these opposingor these, I shouldn't say
necessarily opposing, butpolarities, right? There are
these polarities. There is notlight and dark, day and night,
the ebb and the flow, the waxand the Wain, the masculine and
(02:14):
the feminine. There's thecreativity and the structure.
There's the idea and abilities, which is what Matthew and I call
ourselves. He had another namefor it. Was like inspiration and
execution right there. Andinside of us, we do have both of
these qualities. But what I havefound, and what I've explored
(02:34):
through the lens of sobriety, isthat we have had to fight. We've
thought we had to fight so muchto you know, leave the quote,
unquote, cages of the home toestablish a sense of freedom for
ourselves, establish a name forourselves, prove that we were
(02:55):
worthy, prove that we could doit all. But along the way, we've
lost something. We've lostaccess to, what I believe is
more of the pleasured statewhen, when as women, we are in
our feminine and it doesn't meanwe don't act from from our
masculine sometimes, and itdoesn't mean we aren't
(03:16):
entrepreneurs and havebusinesses. But there is a
different way of doing it, thereis a different way of having a
feminine led and run businesswas which isn't always just
about structures and systems andstrategies and, you know, profit
and loss and margin. But can itbe in your creativity? Can you
inspire through emotion? Can youconnect deeply to your people
(03:42):
and to your audience through youknow, and even if you're if
you're not an entrepreneur, andcan you be in the pleasure of of
your mothering, of being a wife,of this idea of service that
doesn't come from so muchresentment, and that we're
(04:02):
actually receiving pleasure fromit, and that it's not just about
an expectation. Because just asmuch as I was talking about the
silent sobriety or the silentactivism, if we give of
ourselves, but it's not free, then I don't believe we should
do it. I don't believe we shouldgive with expectation, because
that's not truly giving right, and if we are, then the other
(04:26):
person better well know aboutit, they better have signed up
for it as well. So to createsafety, we have to establish
that place of surrenderedsolitude inside of ourselves, to
be comfortable not knowing, tobe comfortable with ourselves,
to be able to say, I'm here, inthe journey of finding out
(04:47):
versus figuring it out, and I'mnot going anywhere. And that
energy alone, that energy offinding out versus figuring it
out, does create safety for thefeminine. In because you don't
have to know you can becourageous and brave in in the
(05:08):
figuring it, in the finding out, right? That it's not that you
have to muscle your way throughand and shove, you know, a
square peg into a circle, right?
That's not what we're doinghere. We're letting life unfold.
It's like, spring time doesn'ttry, doesn't, like, have to,
like, figure it out, right?
(05:31):
There's a natural unfolding.
It's like, oh, maybe we havethis fall spring, and it's 60
degrees, and then we get asnowstorm, and then it happens
again, and it's different everyyear, the the blooms are going
to be different, the the leaveson the trees are different every
year based on what happened thetime before. There's not a
foreseen that it's supposed tolook a certain way, because
(05:51):
figuring it out has with itexpectation, and finding out has
it with has with it intention.
So if you're leading from thefeminine, and you're leading
from just an intention to toknow yourself, to be in the the
unfolding of the mystery oflife, to allow your emotions to
(06:14):
be deeply pleasurable, becauseyou're there's not this
constricted sensation, thisconstricted and contracted
feeling. But there's anexpansion, and this expansion
does require safety, and it doesrequire trust, but this is
something that you get to decideon ahead of time, and it is 100%
(06:40):
required in sobriety, and it isrequired when you're changing
your relationship to anything, when I'm stepping into this new
identity, right as a farmer, when Matthew and I are stepping
into a new place in ourrelationship. And so I want to
give you an example of the thefeminine in action and safety.
(07:01):
So I would say I had, I had afather growing up, but, and I
don't want to get too much intomy backstory, but I never really
had a masculine figure like leadme that really, you know, kind
of gave me advice or showed methe way. And I did have some
guidance from my dad, but itwasn't in this, you know, he
(07:24):
didn't like tell me what to do.
No one told me what to do,frankly, which I'm not saying is
a bad thing. But I also grew upin some scarcity with money and
things like this. And I startedworking when I was 12, and I
started making money. And I knewI never wanted, I always wanted
to be able to be able to do whatI wanted to do when I wanted to
do it. And this, I am not amaterialistic person. I'm my
(07:44):
tour in nature is not of likebeauty and material things. My
tourist nature is more ofexperiences and delight and like
ambience right like the rightlighting and the right mood and
the romance of of life in thatway. So I've never spent money
on things. I've always spentmoney on experiences. And I
(08:08):
always wanted to be able to dothat. I traveled when I was
younger. I lived at the, youknow, at the yoga ashram. I just
did all of these things thatgave me these new experiences,
to experience myself in a newlight. So I was very, you know,
responsible with money from ayoung age, and I never had
(08:28):
credit card debt. And when I metMatthew, Matthew didn't really
have any credit at all. Hedidn't have bad credit, he just
didn't have any and when webought our first home, it was
actually me who purchased thehome. I got this down payment
assistance program. I had thejob with the w2 and the good,
the amazing credit, and so onand so forth. And then when we
(08:53):
had Emmett, I put him on thedeed. And of course, we were
paying financially for we weresharing the finances together.
But I kind of unintentionally ornaturally took over the
finances, and I would pay thebills, and I just had access to,
you know, his paycheck and hisincome. And there was never
(09:15):
really like, there was aconversation about it, but I
always just just did it so hedidn't have this real sense of
it being a priority, because hecouldn't see it right? And all
of the best financial peoplewill tell you, like, look at
your money. Often have arelationship with your money
because you don't want to justbe like, Oh. Like, think about
in a partnership. You're like,I'm just going to ignore you for
(09:37):
the month and hope that it'sthere, right? It doesn't. It
doesn't cultivate this sense oflike a deeper relationship with
more intimacy. And I do believemoney is an energy that we have
to have a relationship with. Butwhat it did for me as we were
transitioning into a brand newcommunity, Matthew had all of
(09:57):
his business is completelyreferral based. And he left his
referral based community wherewe were living, and we moved to
this brand new community. And sohe's having to engage in
business in a brand new way. Mybusiness was shifting, and there
was some scarcity there. Therewas some scarcity around money.
(10:19):
There was fear of letting golike what I've shared in the
last few episodes, of letting goof the way I had been doing
business, and really trustingmore of the being able to go
into the farm, being able togrow more of an in person
business, because I'm like, I'vebeen seeing the money. Where's
it coming from? Where's it goingand there is a woman named Laura
(10:42):
Doyle who is a relationshipcoach, and she definitely pushes
the button of feminism, right?
So if you engage with her work,do it with an open mind, and it
can be very triggering, butthere is a lot of truth in there
around the male female dynamic, and what is available for men in
a relationship when they areheld, when they have sole
(11:07):
responsibility of the finances.
Now for me, this doesn't mean Idon't make my own money. This
doesn't mean I have to ever, like, ask for spending or
anything like that, and like, you get to make up your own
rules. So Matthew and I had thisconversation about it, and he
told me that he is 100%financial, financially
(11:31):
responsible for our householdexpenses, and that he wants to
and is willing to take over thefinances. And I was so afraid
of, what if he screws it up?
What if there's late fees and hedoesn't call because I've seen,
I've had some evidence of this, right? But at the end, I had to
ask myself, what's the worstcase scenario? Like, what
happens if he has to pay a $40fee? And like, what if I don't
(11:53):
even know? So he gets all theinformation. I kind of show him
what I've been doing, and hegets all of the information for
paying the bills, and that's it.
It was done, right? And I justtrusted that. Now, of course, I
know what his jobs look like. Iknow the business he's getting.
I know what all of that lookslike. So in my mind, I'm like,
(12:16):
okay, like, you know, is thisworking for you? But what it has
allowed him to do is show up inthe world in ways that I've
never seen him show up. He hasgone out on his own, and he's a
very social, personable likehe's such an easy person to get
(12:36):
along with, but he's gone out tocommunity meetings. He joined
the archery club. He joined, like the car club. He has been
engaging with this archerycommunity, something that's been
bringing him a lot of pleasure.
And with his son, with mystepson, Oz, and just doing all
of these things wet and, youknow, volunteered to make the
set for emmett's play, and metsome people there, and like
(13:00):
making all these connections, right? And so this was another
kind of missing piece of hispersonal life. And for me, I was
able to decompress my nervoussystem. I was able to focus on
my creative pursuits, mycreative pleasure and power. And
I understand that not everyonehas this experience, but I could
at least soften my nervoussystem enough to allow for
(13:24):
whatever transition ispresenting itself for me to let
go. So I created a sense ofsafety just by switching the
dynamic of a couple of things.
Now this doesn't mean I don'tcontribute to the finances. This
doesn't mean, you know, there'sa lot of other nuances to it,
but in general, it's like, whatdo I need to create safety for
(13:47):
my nervous system right now?
Because Matthew's hair wasn'tfalling out and he wasn't having
these digestive issues, theother thing that actually, we
both started doing was drinkingmagic mind. And so I've never
had any sort of sponsorships onthe podcast. Literally, I've
never run one ad except formyself, because my coaching
business does sponsor thispodcast. But when magic mind
reached out to me, I knew it wasa sign from the Divine. I knew
(14:10):
that this was going to be thething to help me drinking less
coffee every day, which issomething that I've been wanting
to do for a very long time. It'sbeen calling me, and it's been
calling me because I know thatit's not sustainable energy and
magic. Mine has so many amazingother ingredients and stuff that
I'm actually was taking in othersupplements, and my energy feels
(14:32):
so focused. So I would love foryou to give it a try. They've
given us 20% off of your firstorder. It's magic,
mine.com/mary. W 20. Let me knowhow it goes for you, because I'm
actually really, really enjoyingthe effects of this product.
Now, this is my own stuff towork on, but in a relationship
and in a partnership, he wantedto support me with that, right?
(14:54):
So if you're not in apartnership, say, um. What I
would want to do for myself inthis situation, because being an
entrepreneur, it's like it's allon you all the time. And if I
was feeling a scarcity ofresources, maybe I would go find
a more consistent way to createresources for myself, where if I
(15:16):
didn't want to show up, say todo marketing, to engage in the
podcast, or to go to try to sellflowers. I just knew that I was
going to have this stability ofa certain amount of money every
month, we'll say, or I would godo some networking, like I would
(15:36):
look at my resources, and Iwould look at myself and my
resourcefulness. So findingsafety in is an inside job, and
it requires you taking inventoryof your resources and really
finding out where is theirpotential, untapped potential.
(15:56):
What do I need to soften andregulate my nervous system
enough so that I can receive, sothat I can expand? And what
you'll find is, initially, there's resistance, but the
other side, the resistance tosoftening right, is expansion,
the resistance to surrender ispleasure on the other side of
(16:25):
it, the resistance to letting gois receiving. I would love for
you to take this out into yourlife and ask yourself, Where can
I create safety, where there isnone, and sometimes this is just
the just looking at it, how isit not true? And so another
(16:49):
thing I had to do was anassessment of my own finances.
Because something that we'll dooften is say I can't afford it,
or I don't have the money, orwhatever it is, I'm broke,
right? Is that true? And forsome of you, some people, it
very well meet may be true, butfor me, that wasn't 100% true. I
have investments, I have somesavings, I have these other
(17:10):
areas, right? I have moneycoming in from clients, like
there's actually thingshappening, even though it looked
different than it did. Maybe, you know, 12 months ago, and
that's okay, because it is amoment in time. And if I resist
this moment in time, thisopportunity, what am I selling
myself short on? So we're goingto explore more of the feminine
(17:35):
way in the next couple ofepisodes, because I really want
you to dive in to this feelingof expansion, pleasure and
receiving Have an amazing week.
