We sat down with actor, director, and writer Soleil Moon Frye during an exciting time in her life: one we're calling her 2021 renaissance. It was a treat to be able to have this discussion, this intimate podcast that covers it all. We discuss Soleil’s artful documentary Kid 90 produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way on Hulu. Kid 90 is an incredibly candid and bittersweet love letter to her younger self, and also to 1990’s young Hollywood, and we discuss how Soleil both gathered and went through years of diaries and recordings to create her piece of art with its notable contributors. We got the exclusive backstory on her reconnection with former boyfriend Danny Boy O’ Connor of House Of Pain, and how footage of their time together was found and then added to the doc, mid-production. Soleil is extremely candid about the darker experiences in her life, covered in Kid 90, and how she’s still learning to piece it all together. We talk about her return to Punky Brewster, the 80’s pop culture icon she’s known for, and how doula to all four of her children, Demi Moore, supported her return to acting. Soleil passionately discusses her work with Sean Penn and CORE, which she says she’s most proud of in her life, next to her children. We talk all about love…self love, the loss of love, and finding love. Soleil shares advice for young actors, her thoughts on social media, and on parenting. We talk all about her deeply creative spirit, how she’s sprung back to that sense of self, and what it is that inspires her. At the end of our honest + open chat with the multifaceted talent, we discuss the things she loves, including a long list of documentaries, one that inspired her own, and her return to poetry and reading. Soleil even shares the contents of her handbag, and we've compiled all so you can discover and shop here:1. Kid 90 on Huluhttps://www.hulu.com/2. Punky Brewster on Peacockhttps://www.peacocktv.com/3. Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
