And we're going to interview himtoday.
And we're going to talk abouthis tonal journey on All the
programs and stuff that he isworking on now.
So let's give a round ofapplause for my lovely husband,
(00:25):
Aaron Dunford.
Take it away.
Track 1 (00:30):
Hi.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (00:33):
All
right.
So let's first off talk aboutwhy in the first place did we
get tonal?
I remember the story clearly howthat went down, but in your
memory, how did it go down?
Track 1 (00:47):
My memory, um, I'm
trying to think.
So I guess it started rightafter the Peloton bike.
And, uh, you know, we're, you,you just got into, uh, doing
the, uh, lifting with Daniel.
And, uh, and we were just onthis health kick and, you know,
(01:08):
I wanted to be more healthy.
And, uh, you know, I just, Icouldn't fit my big butt on the
bike.
I tried.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (01:17):
The
ass be hurting, bro.
The ass
Track 1 (01:20):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (01:20):
Man.
Track 1 (01:21):
So, uh, so we, we kind
of, uh, did we have the tread
then?
I think we had the tread.
Yeah,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (01:27):
try
to end the bike.
Yep.
Track 1 (01:29):
we had the tread and,
uh, you know, when we dated the
first time, uh, I, we went tothe gym or I went to the gym
and, uh, you know, I just likeweight training.
And, uh, I tried, I tried thewhole cardio thing and, and, uh,
it just didn't really do it forme.
And then, um, I'm trying tothink, did I have, do we have
(01:51):
the tunnel before or afterCovid?
It was before Covid.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (01:55):
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was, it was before COVIDbecause I remember, uh, cause I
think it was September, I thinkit was a little bit, but I
can't, was it July or June thatwe got the tonal?
Track 1 (02:06):
I think it was July,
June, maybe June.
No,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (02:12):
cause
we had, remember, because we had
ordered it online to begin with, and then, you know, that whole
price tag is like, holy shit, expensive.
And then all, then my memoryserves me right.
All I had to say was, Hey.
You know, Tony Horton is ontonal.
Hubby was
Track 1 (02:31):
bought it.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (02:32):
it
up.
Track 1 (02:33):
No, no, no.
I didn't find out till later.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (02:36):
No,
Track 1 (02:38):
I think.
No, no, I think
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04 (02:41):
bullshit.
You, no.
When you found out that TonyHorton was on tunnel, you were
like, okay, we can do this now.
Uh huh.
I yeah, trust me I
Track 1 (02:52):
P90.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (02:57):
Oh,
because remember we went on
marketplace and we
Track 1 (03:00):
Uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (03:00):
the
um, Second hand one from that
lady and
Track 1 (03:03):
yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (03:04):
it
down two flights of wooden
stairs To get this thing in thecar
Track 1 (03:11):
And in case you never
picked your tunnel up, that
bitch is heavy as fuck.
And officially
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (03:17):
Yeah,
it is not it is not light and
we've we've moved it twice nowand I I Like it
Track 1 (03:24):
my first exercise was
calf raises, pushing the tunnel
up so we could get up onto thething.
Remember, we had to call theneighbor over.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (03:36):
We
couldn't get
Track 1 (03:36):
I'm like, calf lift.
Boom.
Perfect.
Worked perfectly.
Perfect.
Perfect.
Perfect.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (03:41):
Tunnel
prepares you for real life
activities.
Track 1 (03:43):
That's right.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (03:44):
so
what was your first program when
we got the tunnel?
It was Tony Horton, right?
I don't
Track 1 (03:50):
Yeah.
So it was the 2020 Ignite and,uh, and I did the Tony Horton
video because love you, TonyHorton, if you're listening, um,
the, uh, 20, uh, it was, uh,Tony Horton, 2020 Ignite, um,
you know, kind of just, youknow, Got into the program.
Um, and, and really, I think itjust really came down to, it
(04:13):
gave, gives you guidance, um, ittells you what to do, when to
do, and it kind of takes all theguesswork out and, um, you know,
all you, you know, I, I kind ofjoke and tell everybody, you
know, All I have to do is godown to my front room and hit
play and that's it.
And, and, uh, you know, everything else takes over the
(04:33):
rest.
And, um, I remember doing 20, 20at night and I was just like,
man, this is awesome.
This is great.
I'm in and out 20 minutes.
And then, you know, after awhile, I just, I wanted more
and, um, and, uh, you know, Ididn't necessarily want to
double up classes.
So then, you know, you kind ofthumbing through, you're
scrolling through the, the thingand, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (04:56):
The
Track 1 (04:56):
and, and the library.
And, uh, you know, I, I think I,I think I took Jared.
Jared's class.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (05:03):
Divide
and conquer.
You took that, you took, youtook that a lot was the divide
and conquer.
Track 1 (05:07):
Yeah.
I like the divide and conquerand, and, and Jared.
And then, and then after, youknow, finishing that, I, you
know, I look up and down thething and I was like, who's the
biggest, baddest motherfucker onair and, uh, there was Jackson.
So then, then, uh, I was like, you know what?
I got your bro.
Come on.
And then, and, uh, you know,he's the biggest, baddest dude
(05:28):
in the club.
That's, that's who you go after.
And, uh, so the, so, uh, soyeah, I was kind of, you know,
you kind of saw him in the, inthe moves.
And everything, and I was justlike, I was a little intimidated
at first, uh, but then, youknow, just, uh, and, uh, so I
think I started out with, uh,go, yeah, it was go big or go
home one.
(05:49):
And, uh, I think I was, I thinkit was on tunnel already a
couple of months.
Cause I think I finished TonyHorton's couple of 2028 nights.
And then I think I did, uh,Jared's, uh, divide and conquer.
And then I think I worked my wayup to, uh, to, to Jackson.
And, uh, you know,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (06:07):
that's
when you started getting like
more, um, disciplined and likemore locked in on doing the
programs.
Cause I remember like at somepoint you were kind of rocky.
You were doing it for a whileand then you'd stop.
Then you'd do it for a while andyou'd stop.
Track 1 (06:19):
yeah, you know, just,
you know, life gets in the way.
And I, I wasn't as, I wasn't asdisciplined as I am now.
I wasn't, uh, I think it wasmore to do with that.
You weren't on, you know, youweren't, you were Peloton'd in,
but you weren't Tunnel'd in,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (06:36):
I
wasn't tunneling.
I wasn't toneling.
Track 1 (06:39):
Tunnel'd in,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (06:40):
Tonal
Track 1 (06:41):
in.
So, you know, it's, uh, youknow, monkey see monkey do,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (06:45):
you
do
Track 1 (06:45):
uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (06:46):
it
does it helps a lot when you
have somebody else kind of justlike the driving the force and
you want to be like, all right,I see you.
I see you.
Track 1 (06:57):
well, you know, I think
it, I think it really came down
to it after your, I think youreally got into it, um, you
know, everything was going onwith, uh, Uh, uh, gosh, Peloton
guy,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-1 (07:12):
Peloton
guy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Daniel.
Track 1 (07:15):
Daniel, sorry,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (07:16):
Daniel
thing.
Track 1 (07:17):
the whole Daniel thing.
And, and, uh, you know, it'slike, you really got into weight
training and kind of Danielpushed you over to the, uh,
instead of the cardio world intothe weight world and, and, uh,
you know, and, you know, I sawwhat success you had and, you
know, you know, being my wife, you really inspired me.
And, uh, so, you know, thinking.
(07:39):
Thinking, thinking, you know, she could do it.
I can do it.
And it was funny because therewas like so many things that
like lined up and it's like, uh,you know, Tom Brady, you know,
the quarterback that I hatesigns with my favorite team.
And probably one of the, youknow, there was two things that
really kind of gave me the.
(08:01):
The kick in the ass, obviouslywith, you know, dad passing
away, uh, you know, being, wantto be there for your, your
daughter and healthy andeverything.
And then, you know, Mr.
Graves of all time going to yourthing.
And, and, you know, I lookeddown one day and I noticed that
me and me and Tom were the samefricking age,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (08:21):
crazy.
Track 1 (08:23):
and you know, he's out
there slinging footballs,
getting chased down by, uh, youknow, 300 pound defensive
linemen and I'm like, you know,You know, if he's that doing
this, you know, why not me, youknow?
And, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04- (08:37):
Totally.
Track 1 (08:38):
and so I was just like,
you know, I can, you know, I can
do this, you know, and, uh, Youknow, just a little thing
clicked on and it was just like, okay, I sat down.
It's like, how am I going to dothis?
You know, and, uh, you know, being in the car business as you
know, the, uh, schedules crazyand, and, uh, all hours.
(08:58):
So, you know, the, the onlytime, the only time I could do
it is wake it up at the buttcrack of five 30.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (09:05):
That's
my, hey, that's my friend Mo.
My friend Mo, man, she up atlike three.
So you and Mo could be like bestbuds, but yeah, you're up like
hella early working out.
My brain can't work that early.
Track 1 (09:16):
But, you know, and the,
really the, the main difference
and I noticed now and then isthat the You know, from when I
worked out at the gym before andthe inconsistency that would
happen is because, uh, you know, being in the car salesman, being
such a great salesperson as Iam, uh, I would talk myself out
of working out and, and, andwith tunneling at home, I can't
(09:41):
talk myself out of going fromthe bedroom to the, to the, to
the basement, you know, and, uh,And, and I think that's,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (09:49):
so
much, we spent so much money
doing this gym also, causeyou're a big, big creature of,
if you, if you're going to usethe money to do something, you
better use it.
So that's
Track 1 (09:58):
oh yeah,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (09:59):
think
that also helped you also like,
Oh my gosh, I just spent allthis money on this gym.
I'm going to enjoy it.
It
Track 1 (10:05):
you know, and it's,
it's, it's, it's awesome to come
down, you know, fly the stairsand, and to have, you know, our,
our space, our workout and, uh,you know, and it, and this
removes every excuse, right?
Um, you know, you, you, you, youhave intent and there's just,
you come down, you come down towork out, do your thing.
(10:26):
And, um, you know, that's kindof when I, I found Jackson and I
started doing it, uh, you know, not a big social media person,
uh, not like my wife, uh, youknow, so probably one of the
things I could probably work on,but, um,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (10:41):
All
right.
Track 1 (10:42):
You know, and, uh, you
know, you post it every now and
then, uh, you know, and thenwhen I really got into doing go
big or go home, and then I didgo big or go home to, then I
went back to one, then I think Iwent to divide and conquer and
then back to two, you know, gobig or go home three.
And I just started, uh, youknow, and when you watch
(11:03):
somebody and, and, and thephysical.
prowess that Jackson has andeverything, you really get
wrapped up into it.
And I felt like, and I feltlike, uh, I felt like I was
doing the work, but I wasn'tgetting the result because
there's two parts of fitness, the, the, the in and the out,
(11:27):
and, uh, you know, my, mybiggest problem is the, is the
diet portion and, you know, there's just so much, so much
minutia, so much.
Misinformation and, andeverything.
And, and, you know, lo andbehold, one day Jackson, uh, you
know, reached out to me and, and, uh, you know, You know, you
(11:50):
kind of get that, Oh my gosh, that Jackson, you know, texted
me or whatnot.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (11:54):
Yeah,
Track 1 (11:55):
And, uh, you know, we
started talking and everything.
And then, uh, you know, that'swhen I hooked up with him
probably about what a year ago, yeah, about a year ago.
And, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (12:04):
Yeah.
Track 1 (12:05):
and, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (12:05):
been,
I've been trained with Joe now
for two years, so I mean, it'smaybe a little bit over a year
with.
Track 1 (12:11):
So yeah, so I was
probably in the tunnel for a
year or a year and a half
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (12:15):
Yeah.
Cause you
Track 1 (12:16):
uh, you know,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (12:16):
I
was
Track 1 (12:18):
and kind of doing the
classes and everything.
And then, and then Jacksonreached out and said that, uh,
you know, uh, you know, I canshow you the way, you know, I
can show you, uh, I can show youa sustainable plan that, you
know, that you don't have to dothis.
Then this it's, you just do thisand you know, I, I like
(12:38):
simplicity.
Um, you know, it's, uh, it'seasy.
It's, it's not easy, but it's,it's easy following.
And, and, uh, you know, there'sno room for, it's not, it's
white or black.
It's not gray.
And, uh, you, you know, it givesyou the, you know, gave me the
plan and I, and, uh, you know, kind of maneuvered stuff around
(13:00):
and, you know, through theloving support of my wife.
With all that stuff, um, youknow, it was able to, uh, have
the success and, uh, you know,it was in, you know, it's, yeah,
it's, you know, when you work afull time job, you know, the car
business is full time plus andthen, uh, you know, but I, I, I
(13:21):
didn't want anything to be anexcuse.
I didn't want anything to, youknow, if.
If I'm going to make this work,you know, it's, it's, it's,
it's, I'm going to make it work.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (13:33):
Right.
Track 1 (13:34):
yeah, exactly.
It's all in, you know, it's,it's the machine, it's the, the,
the using and everything.
And, and, uh, you know, luckilyI have a supporting wife and,
uh, you know, we, or you know, they say birds of a feather
flock together.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04 (13:47):
Together.
Yeah.
Well,
Track 1 (13:49):
uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (13:50):
but
you know what, but it, it, it
worked, you know, we both keepeach other motivated and we're
both on two totally different, like fitness journey goals and
stuff like that.
But that just goes to show thatlike how important having that
support system is at home tohelp you to excel.
Because I certainly wouldn't beas far as I am without you, you
(14:13):
know, because I would have nevergotten on tonal because I can
remember you telling me like 10times, like stop wasting your
time doing those weight classbecause you could be so much
further using tonal.
And it's like now, since I'vebeen training with Joe for these
past two years, I'm just like,God, just imagine if I would
have started, I mean, I'mthankful that, you know, I met
Joe and now I'm training withhim now, but just imagine if I
(14:36):
would have started like earlier, like how far ahead I would have
been.
So it's just, it's, it's amazingwhat Tonal can do as a machine
itself, but then having like acoach, like you have, like
Jackson, that's literally goingto push you to that next level.
Track 1 (14:50):
well, I think the, the
thing that kind of just, it was
funny because like I waswatching you do the, it was the,
uh, The bench presses on Pelotonwhere your, your, your elbows
stopped at the floor and you'reliterally an L
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (15:04):
Yeah.
Track 1 (15:05):
it's like you just
moved, lost all that, that, that
stretch.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (15:10):
The
stretch of
Track 1 (15:10):
And I, I'm just, and
I'm just like, I mean, it's a no
brainer, but never in a millionyears that I think that that
would happen.
And then you just,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (15:21):
did
like this girl could barely,
like, when I started that videothat you took of me bench
pressing 30 pounds, I was likeshaking, getting that weight up.
And you're just like, I canremember, I think I messaged
Andrew trippy also at that time, and he's like, Oh, those are
your stabilizer muscles.
It will get better.
(15:41):
I think that's what he said.
Is that a thing?
Stabilizer muscles.
Track 1 (15:44):
yes,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (15:45):
So
I can remember me shaking,
getting those 30 pounds up.
And it's just.
It's so crazy how different itis lifting on tonal than it is
actually lifting a physicalweight.
How much heavier it is becauseit's just like I look at
dumbbells and then I look atlike tonal and I'm just like,
dude, tonal is no joke.
(16:06):
That shit's heavy as shit.
Track 1 (16:09):
well, I, I don't know
the math, right.
And, uh, you know, there's, Iremember sitting on a call with
Jackson one time and he tried toexplain the.
The math, the 25, yeah, the 25pounds of the dumbbell and we
got dumbbells up 60 pounds
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (16:24):
Right,
Track 1 (16:25):
and, and, and 25 pounds
on a thing on a, on, on a
tunnel, completely different.
And,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (16:34):
It
humbles you real quick.
Like, like Bulgarians oranything single leg using that
way, it humbles you very quick.
It makes you sit yourself down.
Track 1 (16:44):
you know, you have to,
sometimes you have to check your
ego at the door.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (16:47):
Yeah,
it's like, you're like, oh,
maybe I'll just hit it up.
You know, you hit that dial andthen you're just like, yeah, I
regret that.
Track 1 (16:54):
Well, the hardest
thing, the hardest thing is when
you, you know, you first getinto it.
And, uh, you know, you havethat, that comes to Jesus.
Uh, you know, I, I used to do225, 10 pounds, you know, 10
times.
No problem.
You know, 225 is like thestandard gym weight.
And, uh, I remember, I rememberputting a hundred pounds on each
(17:16):
thing and I was like, all right, and I didn't move.
And I felt like, I was like, ohcrap, oh crap, oh crap.
And I hit the button and, uh, Iwas, it was like 200 pounds.
I didn't feel the same.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (17:32):
But
I do have a question for you
because I have seen like arevelation with you and your
training and I've kind of likewatched that you've got, like,
like listening to you talking isabout how did you become a leg
day fan?
Like, how did that happen?
Because I can remember like whenyou first started taking like
tonal programs and stuff likethat, you were like, So how did,
(17:55):
how did, how, what, how, whatmade it change for you?
What changed?
Track 1 (18:00):
So literally like there
was, there was times in the
beginning where, especially inlike, go big or go home for the
first time, uh, leg day, youwere like, What's next?
You know, and there was dayslike I skipped leg day and, um,
(18:21):
and I,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (18:23):
I
Track 1 (18:23):
I, I just, I couldn't,
uh, you know, in, There's a
point where you're, your brainand your ego kind of like, uh,
conflict.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (18:35):
Mm
hmm.
Track 1 (18:36):
Let's call it
confliction.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04- (18:37):
because,
because you want to lift that
heavy weight like right now.
You're like, I can do this rightnow.
But in
Track 1 (18:42):
Yeah,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (18:43):
it's
just, it's just not there yet.
Track 1 (18:46):
well, it's, it's almost
like to the point where you put
the weight and then you lookaround to see if anybody's
looking.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (18:52):
Hey,
but that's, hey, but that's the
great thing about having yourown gym.
You are the strongest person inthe gym.
Just hey, honey, just let youknow, you are the strongest
person in this gym.
Track 1 (19:01):
Yes.
So the, uh, I literally, and,uh, I, I just, I just, for some
reason I couldn't do it.
And then like the front squats, the front squats were really
difficult.
Um, I seem to have a lot of backproblems cause my form sucked.
Uh, and then I discovered lungesand then like, I hated them at
(19:23):
first.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (19:24):
Mm
Track 1 (19:25):
then I, then I had a
problem with, you know, the
right leg being so much weakerthan the red, the left leg.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (19:31):
Right.
Track 1 (19:32):
like, so I, I did it
off, you know, even though it
had tunnel, I did it withtunnel, but I didn't put any
weight on it.
And I just slowly, but surely
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (19:41):
Just
Track 1 (19:42):
started doing it,
started doing it.
And it just became easy, youknow, not easier, but I started
actually liking it.
And there's nothing like, there's nothing like bending
down.
And something you're not
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (19:58):
Right.
That's like, that's like, Ithink a lot of times I think
with people that with like daysare, you know, are so uneasy
about, but it really is, youknow, just trusting the numbers
where tonal sets you at and justtrusting that process and kind
of moving along with it slowlybecause.
Like it, you know, for me now, like hip thrusting 200 pounds
(20:21):
and neutral deadlifting 200pounds is like boggling to me
now, but in the beginning I waspetrified of lifting anything
heavy because like you said,it's, it's your, your back, you
know, you're worried abouthurting yourself, but it's just
like with tonal that the, allthose like options that you have
for like safety stuff, you know, that can, you know, turn off the
(20:44):
weight for you and it's not likeyou're going to drop a dumbbell
on your head.
So,
Track 1 (20:50):
Yeah
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (20:51):
but
it's still like, like you said,
it's just very humbling whenthat weight starts to, you know,
when you think you can dial itup more and it's just like,
okay, I need to dial it backbecause to stop myself from
injuring myself, I may not be atthat weight where I want to be
right now lifting, but I'll getthere.
That's kind of like how I thinkof as, as of it now is, you
(21:11):
know, not, cause how far, likehow far you've come with
training with Jackson from whereyou started and where you are
now, huge difference, hugedifference.
So it's just like at thatmoment, you probably like, why
didn't I just wait?
Like I should have just trustedthe process.
Cause that's how sometimes Ilook at it.
Like when I think get my egogets in the way, like, Oh, I'm
(21:33):
going to crank up the weight.
Like I had to dial back onBulgarian split squats because
my ego got in the way.
I think, I can't remember whatclass it was.
I think it was in divide andconquer level up with Joe and I
cranked it up.
And then like the next program,I was like, I can't do this
shit.
I had a, I had to dial it down.
I'm like, what was I thinking?
I just fucked myself up.
(21:53):
So now I got to start over.
I just to start all over work myway up.
But now I earned that weight.
And that's something that Ilearned from Joe is really
earning that weight.
So
Track 1 (22:07):
I think,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (22:08):
Oh,
sorry.
Go
Track 1 (22:09):
no, I think the biggest
thing when it comes to the
actual trainers is that the, youknow, I I've done squats before
and I was never a front fan ofsquats, um, and I, and everybody
talks about form and how to lineup and everything, but no one
ever told me about bracing coreand it was really.
(22:30):
And until I started doing coreexercise, that's when, like,
everything, like, changed.
And, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04- (22:39):
bracing.
Track 1 (22:41):
I mean, that, that was,
like, that was, like, the, the
biggest thing.
That's when I noticed the, the,the really big change.
You know, uh, you know, I did,I, I joke around.
And, uh, now I, you know, I wentfrom no abs to two abs and now I
got like a, like a half of a,you know, half of the other two.
And then I'm probably about sixmonths away from the bottom two.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (23:08):
But
that's like one of the, I there
was like, we're talking about isso much stuff that we didn't
know about that, you know, thatthe tonal coaches and like
Jackson is teaching is like, Inever learned about core
bracing.
I never learned about engagingmy lats with RDLs and deadlift.
I never knew about that.
(23:28):
All that stuff or, you know, when you're bench pressing to,
you know, how to, you know, pushwith your back and engage your
lats and your tri likeeverything is so much more
involved and it's so much morecomplex to, to get like the
muscle that, and the gains thatyou want.
And it's just like, there's likea huge gap that we were missing
in information.
(23:50):
You know, we're catching up.
We're catching up.
We're getting smarter.
Track 1 (23:53):
Well, the, the, uh,
the, uh, and one of the game
changers too was, is that the, Iremember doing the RDLs and the,
uh, uh, RDLs and the, uh,neutral grip, neutral grip, uh,
deadlifts.
And um, and I remember, Iremember coming to you and I was
like, I can't figure this crapout.
Like I go down
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (24:14):
You're
like, they're the same thing.
I'm like, no, they're not.
Track 1 (24:17):
and like, I, for some
reason, my body just wants to
pull with the back and like.
And I remember, like, Iremember, what was it?
I remember, I think it was like,I, one reason I worked out at
night or something like that.
And I just, I was like, you sithere and watch me and what I'm
(24:38):
doing.
And then like you, like youwould say, okay, do this and I
get it.
And then you leave the room.
And then it went back to tryingto lift everything with my back.
And I'm, I'm just like, I can'tfigure it out.
It was like, and then, you know,Jackson talked about the mind
muscle connection.
And then, you know, after doingthat, uh, you know, it was, you
know, I hadn't talked to myself.
No back, no back, no back, noback, no back, no back, leg,
(24:58):
leg, leg, leg, legs, hip, hip, hip, hip, hip.
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (25:01):
Yeah.
Track 1 (25:02):
that was kind of like,
you know, like, it's like living
with your own coach.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (25:11):
I
mean, I mean, I mean, I did help
you with your bench press.
Track 1 (25:16):
You did.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (25:16):
that.
Track 1 (25:18):
Oh, do we want to go
into that story?
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (25:26):
Yeah.
Why not?
Because this is a goodie.
Track 1 (25:30):
All right.
So, so, uh, so I got every otherSunday off and, uh, and
sometimes I'd work two or threeSundays in a row.
And there's this one Sunday Ijust, you know, got up extra
early, wanted to do the workoutand, um, I wasn't using gloves
and I wasn't using wrist strapsand, uh, you know, my wife's not
(25:51):
gonna tell me anything.
And, uh, And I was doing, I wasdoing bench presses and I guess
I was doing this and, or that.
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (26:01):
Yeah.
Track 1 (26:02):
And like one day I like
literally.
Like my shoulder just hurt.
Like it was like somebodypunched me in the shoulder.
And I remember,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (26:12):
he
was, he's talking calmly, he was
ready to amputate.
Track 1 (26:17):
yes,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (26:17):
But
he was ready to
Track 1 (26:19):
like I sprained my
shoulder.
I messed my shoulder up.
There's something that's wrong.
And she's like, she's like,honey, it's not that bad.
I'm like, no, I can't lift myshoulder.
So I ended up going to a, uh,The urgent care,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (26:31):
he
went to the urgent care.
Track 1 (26:33):
I went to urgent care.
I mean, it, it hurt that bad andI'm like, Oh man, I messed up my
shoulder.
I tore, I tore my road.
No, I was like, I tore myrotator cuff.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (26:42):
oh
yes, you were googling.
You were
Track 1 (26:44):
I was,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (26:45):
the
symptoms.
Track 1 (26:46):
I was on YouTube and it
was the test.
It was the test.
I'm like, Oh my God, I did thetest.
Oh, it's falling off.
You know, the kind of thing.
And I ran down to the urgentcare clinic.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (27:00):
And
Track 1 (27:00):
And like, I'm,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (27:01):
he
was so mad at me because I was
just like rolling my eyes.
I'm like, this is not this is
Track 1 (27:06):
he was laughing at me
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (27:09):
I
was like, do you feel that?
Do you feel that?
You know, I, you know, yeah, hewent to the urgent clinic.
Track 1 (27:16):
and, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (27:16):
what
did
Track 1 (27:16):
and sure
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (27:17):
tell
you?
Track 1 (27:18):
they stuck me with a
needle.
And,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (27:25):
bit
because what did I tell you what
happened?
And
Track 1 (27:30):
it's the, it's your
bench press farm, bench top,
please.
Ain't no bench press.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (27:37):
then
Track 1 (27:37):
I was
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (27:37):
goes
Track 1 (27:37):
like,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (27:38):
ER
and then he calls me back and he
says, Yeah, I just, like, strained it.
Track 1 (27:45):
I'm like, ah, man, you
know what?
I think it was like in themiddle of like maybe one or two
months after,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (27:52):
You
started
Track 1 (27:53):
after I started the
Jackson.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (27:55):
yeah.
Track 1 (27:55):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (27:56):
Cause
Track 1 (27:56):
And, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (27:57):
time
off from that, from working out
for a little bit.
Track 1 (28:00):
yeah, I think I took it
like a week off and, um, and
sure enough, it And she comes inand,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (28:07):
he's,
Yep
Track 1 (28:09):
and, uh, I did it.
I was like, okay, I think I leftthat day.
And I went down to Dick's andbought some, some wrist, some
wrist things.
And, and now with those, I can,I can like really lock, lock it
in.
And I don't tend to have, causeI think my wrist is pretty weak
cause I have a hard time withpushups.
That's why I use the pushupbars.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (28:28):
right
Track 1 (28:30):
And, uh, just from,
from that, it's just, it's
amazing how this has so much todo with that.
And, uh, you know,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (28:38):
It's
like that mountain and it's like
now every single time you dobench now you just remind
yourself to To
Track 1 (28:45):
every time, cause I do
it, I do it every time I do
that.
And then I lock it in
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (28:49):
Yep.
Track 1 (28:50):
it's just like, good
God.
Now my wife is going to holdthis over my head for the rest
of my life.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (28:55):
Hey,
I I told joe.
I told joe.
I was like joe.
I I let me just a wife win rightnow.
I helped my husband with hisbench press form.
High five.
But that but that but it's soeasy how to You know, that's why
I record myself a lot becauseit's those it's that littlest
(29:18):
thing That can either cause aninjury, a discomfort, or, um,
you, like, stop you from liftingheavier.
And when I record myself, I canalmost, about 65, 75 percent of
the time, notice what I'm doingwrong.
But, you know, like, like Isaid, that's why I wish with,
like, Jackson and stuff likethat, that you would get more
(29:40):
into, like, recording yourselfand, you know, getting form help
and, like, stuff like that.
Track 1 (29:46):
So he says that you can
record, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (29:48):
I
know you're so busy, but at the
end of the day, want to getstronger.
So sometimes we gotta, you know, ask for help every once in a
while.
Track 1 (30:01):
You're right.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (30:02):
You
know and that's how you get bet
but that's how your lifts getbetter and you get you be able
to lift heavier because evenWhat what did jackson jackson
was on that guy's youtubechannel recently, right?
To
Track 1 (30:14):
Which one?
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (30:15):
his
squat depth, right?
Did I show
Track 1 (30:17):
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
So he, um, yeah.
So he said, he said that, uh, hewas going to the guy that does
the squat university
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (30:27):
Yeah.
Track 1 (30:28):
uh, it, and he, uh, and
he, uh, about the book, uh,
cause he read his book andeverything.
And he actually went there and,uh, and, and did that.
And it's funny too, because.
Like, you know, you, you can'tlet your ego check you at the
door.
Jackson told me, uh, or wouldn'thave told me it was in a, it was
(30:49):
in a, uh, a call one time.
And like, if anybody doesn'tknow, Jackson actually wrote a
book on abs.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (30:56):
Right.
Track 1 (30:57):
wrote a book, a actual
book on abs
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (31:01):
abs
Track 1 (31:02):
and all about abs.
And he goes in one day with someback pain into the office.
And he says that, uh, the, thenurse.
Said that he wasn't bracing his, wasn't bracing his core and
Jackson's like, what are youtalking about?
Do you not see, you know, kindof
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (31:21):
Do
you
Track 1 (31:21):
there's,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (31:22):
I
am?
Track 1 (31:22):
you know, I wrote the
book and, uh, and sure enough,
he said that, you know, Iwasn't, I wasn't, I wasn't
bracing the core all the wayand, you know, and here, this
guy's, you know, physically fit.
Trainer and, you know, even hehad to, you know, take and it's,
it's all about learning andeverything, but
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (31:43):
it
is all learning it truly is and
being open to learning and youknow, like, you know, it's it's
it's I think it's just like anever ending process because
it's just there, you know, we'renever searching for perfection.
We're just searching for that 1percent better.
Um, and that's, you know, it'sjust like, because where you
start isn't where you finish, like they say.
(32:04):
So, know.
So what phase are you in nowwith Jackson?
Track 1 (32:10):
so I finished phase 11
and then, so what I, what I'm
doing now is I'm going back tophase one.
And, uh, I'm going to, becauseit's basically about 12 months,
I'm going to go through that,um, and, and kind of redo that
and then, you know, go throughthe diet again.
Um, originally when I startedwith Jackson, I think I weighed
(32:31):
two, it's like 238 if I remembercorrectly.
Um, and I got down to, uh, nowI'm like 207.
Um, you know, so I lost almost30 pounds and, uh, you know,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (32:47):
you
got you got taken when you know
in 2020 when you know the wholecovid strike thing also you lost
god, how much weight did youlose from covid?
Track 1 (32:55):
yeah, so I was 275, 275
and, you know, starting out with
tunnel, total, and, uh, youknow, going through diet.
Um, you know, I went through myheel phase.
Um, and, uh, you know, that'skind of where some of the
misinformation with, uh, youknow, Jackson kind of set me
(33:16):
straight on that.
Um, you know, I'm thinking I candrink, drink my meals and stuff
like that.
And you, and you can, um, youjust
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (33:23):
that's
Track 1 (33:24):
up drinking more meals,
you get hungry and stuff.
So, you know, that's kind ofwhere
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (33:29):
got
to use your jaw muscles Like I
don't understand how that thatwas going to work with like not
being able to like chew yourfood Like I can't
Track 1 (33:37):
I want to say, like,
right after COVID, I think I
lost because it was, I wasprobably out a month.
And, uh, you know, I was in thehospital and, and, uh, you know,
I remember, I remember walkinginto the ER.
Um, I really didn't want to goto the hospital because, you
know, you're hearing all thesehorror stories.
People are walking intohospitals and not walking out.
(33:58):
Um, and like, I've never, liketwo things I remember about
COVID one, not sleeping and two, like to walk 30 steps was like
running a marathon.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (34:08):
right
Track 1 (34:09):
and I'm just, you know,
I'm sitting there and I'm
thinking like, I'm 42 years old.
Why is this happening to me?
And, uh.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (34:16):
Yeah,
Track 1 (34:17):
and, and so the, you
know, the weight came off, um,
you know, uh, my, my, mywonderful wife used to take me
for walks
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (34:25):
yes,
I would get you.
Yes.
Track 1 (34:27):
me out of the house.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (34:29):
Yes
to get you moving because that's
so important
Track 1 (34:32):
and I fought and argued
and I don't want to do it and
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (34:37):
Yeah.
Track 1 (34:37):
stuff.
And, and then like, it just, Iwoke up one day and I was 20
pounds lighter and had a choiceto make.
And, uh, either I could.
Go down this path and, you know, with everything what happened to
my dad, I already knew what wasdown that path and,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (34:55):
Right.
Track 1 (34:56):
and then I can go down
this path and, uh, And, and, and
change things and, uh, you know, have, have a, a, a better life,
a better health, better, um, youknow, not, you know, I just know
so many people that are on somany medications for, for
everything.
And it's just like, I, I don'twant to be that person.
(35:19):
And so the.
And, and, and that's the, the, the, the, the path I chose.
And, and it just work afterwork, after work, um, and do
that.
And, and the great time that Imet Jackson is that I just
happened to, I just, I, I thinkI plateaued.
Like I dropped to 2 28, I thinkit was.
(35:40):
But then I, I always went backto like 2 34, 2 35.
Um, and then, and that's kind ofwhen I discovered, you know,
really nutrition and, you know,macros.
Weighing food and what to eat,uh, you know, intermittent
fasting, um, you know, don't eatanything before 12 o'clock.
(36:04):
Um, which is funny.
I still haven't eaten anythingnow.
So, so the, uh, you know, learning about diet and trust
me, and by no means am Iperfect, you know, my wife will
tell you the, uh, you know, it'ssometimes some days are better
than others, you know, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (36:23):
It's
Track 1 (36:24):
yeah,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (36:24):
to,
you can't, you can't have a diet
that's unsustainable, thatyou're not going to be able.
And we talk about this a lot.
Is
Track 1 (36:32):
yes.
And that's one of
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (36:35):
You
have to have something that's
sustainable.
You can't have something thatyou can't sustain.
And then you're going to almostwant to do the opposite and
binge eat.
And then you're eating so muchof everything because you're not
doing everything in a balanceand it's not going to fit your
lifestyle.
And I think that was one of thethings
Track 1 (36:51):
the things that we all
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (36:52):
when
you started training with
Jackson, because training with
Track 1 (36:56):
found is that
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (36:57):
think,
Track 1 (36:57):
I
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (36:57):
feel
was
Track 1 (36:58):
feel was like a huge
turning point for you, the,
obviously in
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (37:02):
and
your discipline, because
Track 1 (37:03):
because
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (37:04):
alone
Track 1 (37:04):
let alone.
You didn't have me right now.
But you, you, Jackson was there.
Like, you had all the abilities.
You were playing him.
Kind of was just like, okay, well, I'm not going to waste my
money and time.
Like I said, your whole mindsetwas, you
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (37:19):
your
whole mindset is you don't waste
Track 1 (37:21):
know, there's money.
So, and we're like,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (37:23):
this
Track 1 (37:23):
doing this and I'm
going to do it for you.
I'm going to do well.
And I think that was like a hugefactor with you being more
conscious of your diet.
Is because you had that kind ofability.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (37:34):
that
accountability of a trainer
right behind you.
Track 1 (37:38):
Right.
And, and that, and the one thingthat, that really stuck with me
that Jackson said was is thatyou can't let one little thing
affect the outcome.
Meaning if the one day of bingeeating, you know, he's, you
know, you just see too manypeople one day turns into two,
it turns into five, it turnsinto the rest of your life and
you just, and you give upbecause you think it's easier
(37:59):
and, uh, you just gotta, youreally gotta have the mindset
of, of seeing what you want.
You know, there's in the group,in the group that you take
photos and, um, you know, seeingwhat you looked at before, and
then you see what you look likeafter.
And, uh, for, for me, it wasreally two things.
One, it was that, that, that apair of jeans that you bought me
(38:20):
when we first started dating.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (38:21):
For
guests, when I worked at guests,
Track 1 (38:24):
So these jeans, yes,
the jeans, those jeans are
probably from what?
2003, 20
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-1 (38:30):
they're
Track 1 (38:30):
years old.
Love my bootcut.
I don't even wear boots.
But the, but like I always keptthese jeans and it was crazy
because you know, I was like, man, I, I used to fit in these
jeans and, and like slowly butsurely, uh, those, those, the,
you know, I just one day threwthem on and, and, and they fit
(38:54):
and that was,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (38:54):
that
was a huge win.
That was a
Track 1 (38:56):
yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (38:57):
And
then you went to like the closet
and you were like trying on allyour
Track 1 (39:01):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (39:02):
and
you were like, oh my god, look
how big this is.
Look how big, how big this is.
And I think that was like, honestly, that is like the best
thing ever.
is like what seeing your facewhen you were doing that,
because I know that was such ahuge accomplishment for you
because it is like, you know, like you said, with your
schedule and stuff like that,it's hard to really like eat
(39:24):
during your work day.
And then come home late atnight, sometimes at like nine,
10 o'clock.
And you know, you've barelyeaten all day and you're just
like, okay, I need to get allthis food in at me right now.
Track 1 (39:35):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (39:35):
for,
for you to like, get to where
you are right now is like a hugeaccomplishment because
Track 1 (39:41):
Yeah.
The, the second thing wastouching, be able to, uh, touch
my toes.
Hey, touch toes,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (39:56):
touch,
touch your toes.
Touch your
Track 1 (39:58):
touching my toes.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (39:59):
wait,
wait, wait, wait.
Didn't you tell Jackson that'swhat you were excited about?
Did you
Track 1 (40:03):
So we, so we have a, so
we have a couple of things in
the, in the group.
One is when's Wednesday.
And I was just like, and youknow, people are putting on, you
know, lost 10 pounds.
I did this, I did that, and Iwas just like, and I think, I
think it was Emily.
Emily actually, uh, did the winWednesday.
And, uh, I,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (40:23):
I
Track 1 (40:23):
I'm like, I'm like, I
touched my toes, I was able to
bend over and touch my toes.
And like in the wind Wednesday, she, she's going down the thing
and like, she's like, that issuch a big thing.
And I was like, I thought it waslike kind of a joke, but not
really a joke.
And, uh, and she's, and she wenton for about five minutes, you
(40:45):
know, about the little thingsthat you do.
And it's just like the littlethings that you, that you, that
you don't think about until youcan do it.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (40:55):
yeah.
Bending, like, how important isbending over?
Like, how many times a day doyou bend, like, need to bend
over?
A lot.
So,
Track 1 (41:02):
Yeah.
I mean, we pick stuff up.
You want to, you want to, if yougo down, you want to make sure
you get up.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (41:08):
Yes,
yes.
And then also, you know, withall the, um, know, with training
and stuff like that, you reallytook on to, like, Recovery mode
guru guy, like you went fromlike fun of me with my Normatech
legs that I used to wear for mymarathons and then like now
(41:32):
we're like a full blown like PTrecovery
Track 1 (41:36):
Recovery center.
Well, I, I, I don't take creditfor the sauna.
I don't take credit for thesauna.
That was you.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (41:44):
that
was
Track 1 (41:44):
Um, but, but, uh, I
remember like, uh, so, you know,
I kind of did some researchabout biohacking.
Um, and I, I stumbled across,uh, uh, red light therapy.
And like, there's so much, soSANA, there's a lot of, there's
a lot of, uh, research.
(42:06):
Red Light Therapy, uh, there's alot of research.
And like, the research that Iwas hearing about Red Light
Therapy was like, And there wasone person that used, uh, uh,
blood doping effects.
And I'm like, there's no way.
And, um, I said, and, and don'tget me wrong just because I
(42:28):
stand under red lights, doesn'tmean I'm going to go out and
crack a 500 foot home run or,you know, something like that.
But it's like the little achesand pains.
Um, where I, where I really usered light is I, I usually do it
before I warm up before I dothat.
And I think that's helped out alot with the, with the
(42:49):
stretching, the recovery, thelittle aches and pains.
Like I noticed I used to take alot of ibuprofen
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (42:55):
Right.
Track 1 (42:56):
uh, I don't take any
now.
And, um, you know, a lot ofpeople might hear this and be
like, Oh, well, you know, that'sBS.
Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh.
But I'm, I'm just telling you, Istarted doing it and I, I saw
change and, um, and, uh, youknow, it's.
I tend to sleep a little bitbetter now.
Um, not so the, uh, it seemed tohave more energy.
(43:22):
Like, you know, I get up at five30 in the morning.
Sometimes I don't come homeuntil nine o'clock.
Um, you know, so there reallymust be something to that as far
as the recovery, um, aspect and, and, uh, you know, and then, As,
as I'm doing that research, you're doing the sauna research
and we're redoing our basementand I'm like, you know, there
(43:44):
was, I think we're talking aboutand just like, I was just like,
no, do this.
No, let's do that.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (43:50):
No,
what we were talking about
putting a treadmill because wewere gonna put, remember we were
gonna put a salt treadmill downthere, a belt treadmill?
Track 1 (43:57):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (43:58):
um,
I was just like, you know what,
I don't want to be tempted, youknow, I think it's just like,
you know, when I was doing thePeloton days, you know, with me
over training, you know, thattemptation to get into that, I
want to do everything kind ofmindset, um, was like, I was
just like, okay, I can't havethat because I will, I will go
off the edge again.
(44:19):
And then when we started, I wasjust like, you know what?
I was like, From, uh, CoachChristina Tonal.
She's huge on recovery and likemobility and stuff like that.
And that's kind of like where Igot my brain thinking on doing
the sauna is that I was like, wespend all this money with Tonal,
(44:40):
the membership.
You know, the basement and stufflike that.
I was like, okay, so we need toreinvest that into recovery.
So we are able to do the tonallonger.
So I think when we started doingthe sauna and the red light, I
think that is like the bestthings that we ever did.
I mean, I use the sauna almostevery day.
Track 1 (45:01):
Yeah.
I don't, I don't use it as muchas I should.
Uh, but the, uh, the red lighttherapy and, and, and really.
I think that's what a lot ofpeople get wrong is the recovery
and it doesn't have tonecessarily be sauna.
It doesn't necessarily have tobe red light therapy, but just
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (45:17):
Right.
Track 1 (45:18):
something for your
body.
And you know, it's funny.
It all started with the airboots, the Norma tech.
I think that was the very, very, very first thing that we got.
And then it ballooned into.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (45:29):
700
for those.
Those things are not going towork.
Track 1 (45:33):
That was not only do we
have one set, we have two.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (45:36):
We
have two sets.
We have the arms.
We have the hips.
have a back.
We have so much recovery.
Like we should own stock in likeHypervolt and Hyperice and like.
Track 1 (45:48):
And I, and I remember
like when I, I think the second
thing we bought was the back, the heated back thing.
And I remember like, like when Ifirst started working out with
tunnel that I would actuallywear that when I worked out
because my, my back felt like itwas tightening up and whatnot.
And I, I mean, I, I haven't hadany back issues for a while.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (46:09):
Yeah.
I haven't, I haven't heard youever said that you were having
any back problems because youused to have a lot of back
problems.
Like
Track 1 (46:16):
Oh yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-1 (46:17):
scared,
you were scared on like days,
but you know, that goes back towhat you said about you learning
about core bracing and stufflike that.
So
Track 1 (46:25):
So, yeah, I would say
if anybody needs to recover, let
us know.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (46:27):
yeah,
we have a plethora.
Track 1 (46:31):
We could be a retreat.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (46:33):
yeah,
we could, we could, I mean, we
got everything.
So let's just say, so you'regoing into back to your first
program with Jackson.
Now, what, like what goals areyou having for yourself going
into this second time aroundthat you want to do different
than you did the first timearound?
Track 1 (46:52):
So, not to steal from
my wife, but the, uh, the, uh,
I'm really looking forward to,um, you know, you kind of power
through the first one.
Um, You know, cause just to kindof show it, and I think I want
to do more, uh, concentrate ontime under tension, um, and, uh,
(47:12):
versus just, you know, throwingup max weight, stuff like that.
I think that's, I think that's,you know, being a male and, you
know, into the weights, youalways want to do more and more
and more and more and more andmore.
And the, the one thing that Ithink I've learned.
Is that it's not necessarily theamount that you're pushing.
(47:33):
It's how you're pushing it.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (47:35):
Right.
And
Track 1 (47:35):
And
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-1 (47:36):
that's,
that's one thing that like this
whole, this one thing that I've,like you said, I've learned is
that sometimes it's just like, yes, I can move that 200 pounds.
Yes.
I can, you know, bench press.
I think I'm up to like, I can doone rep max on 90.
But it's just like, how slow canI move it?
And how long can I hold thestretch for before pushing up?
(48:00):
So it's like, I'm excited to goback into that kind of slowing
down and really focusing onstretching the muscle.
And, you know, because I know Ican lift heavy, just like you
said, I know I can move thatheavy weight.
That's already done.
That's.
Check.
Okay.
That's check.
It's done.
I've maxed out tunnel on threemoves.
Check.
(48:20):
You know what?
But now I need to rein it backin, sit myself down, and like
you said, really focus on thattime under tension.
Because I think that wholehypertrophy thing with, you
know, growing muscle mass andstuff like that, I think is just
like, it's a game changer, Ithink.
Track 1 (48:37):
yeah.
And, you know, so I, I timeunder tension.
Um, I think it's really goingto, uh, you know, when I, when I
originally sat with Jackson andwe sat down cause, uh, he has a
phone call with you and he goesover what you're looking to do,
um, you bounce ideas off eachother and kind of go over your
goals.
And I remember sitting there andI was like, well, I, I really
(48:59):
want to get down to, I reallywant to get down.
I think, I think I told him two15, if I remember correctly.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (49:06):
Yeah,
I
Track 1 (49:06):
And, um, cause at the,
at the very, very time that I
started with him, that, that Iwent ahead and said, Hey, okay,
I'm going to do it.
I was two 32 well then inpreparation.
So really, I think it was eithera week or two weeks before I
actually started the program.
He sent me the diet.
And so that's when I starteddoing the diet and I actually
(49:26):
lost, I think it was like sevenor eight pounds between the time
that he sent me that to the timeI started.
So I think I told him 215 from230, 232, but I already lost 10
pounds.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (49:41):
Right.
Track 1 (49:43):
so I remember I was
like, well, you know, if I can
get down to 215 and now I, Ithink, uh, you know, just kind
of after going through thiswhole process, I think I could
probably get somewhere around inthe 190.
I think that's kind of the, likeI said, 207 this morning.
I think the one nineties iswe'll get rid of my little tire
that I have.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (50:04):
Yeah.
Track 1 (50:05):
And, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (50:06):
you
also think, you know, body
recomp.
You know, I mean, because lookat me.
I'm a lot, I'm a lot heavierright now.
I mean, I'm at 141 pounds.
You wouldn't know it.
but, you know,
Track 1 (50:17):
you're
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (50:17):
I
Track 1 (50:17):
more, more solid than
you think.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (50:21):
Solid
as a rock.
Now if I could just get thatbicep vein, we'll be sold.
Track 1 (50:29):
Yeah.
My one Holy thing that I get tohold over your head.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (50:33):
mine
is hiding.
My bicep vein is hiding.
I don't know why it's hiding.
Maybe, I can't say because I'mlike really fair skinned so that
can't be a cop out why it's notpoking out.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Track 1 (50:46):
Just got to talk to it.
Hey.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (50:48):
you
know, maybe, maybe I do need to
start having conversations withthe bicep vein because I, I do
have conversations with it.
I'm like, why are you comingout?
But hey, you know, Joe, Joe doeshave that new chest program that
he is dropping.
I am excited for, um, so maybe, maybe that, maybe that will be
the secret key because he didadd some pushup options in there
(51:10):
for me.
I'm going to say he did it forme.
I'm just, I'm just going to sayhe did it for me.
Track 1 (51:16):
Well, here's the one
thing about the bicep vein thing
is that for some reason on myleft arm, it just But on my
right arm, I'm just now startingto to see it But if I was to
pose in the mirror, I think myright arm was bigger than my
left arm for some reason Theleft arm just seems back more
vascular.
(51:36):
Yeah, like the left one isPredominant the the right one.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10 (51:41):
weird.
Track 1 (51:43):
Yeah, don't know
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (51:47):
I
wonder why that is.
Track 1 (51:49):
Don't know.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (51:50):
you
said which arm's bigger?
Track 1 (51:53):
The right one feels
bigger or it looks bigger.
The, the left one just seemsmore lean and I can't explain
why.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (52:02):
You
got beefy and lean.
Track 1 (52:04):
Yeah.
Not to be confused with Taylorand Swift.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (52:08):
Oh
my God.
No, I can't believe he, I just,so, all right.
So we're going to be working on,both of us are going to be
working on time under tension.
So this is interesting cause I'mgoing into accumulation.
and then, uh, Jackson doesn't dophases, does he?
(52:29):
It's just
Track 1 (52:29):
No, he does.
He does.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (52:30):
he
Track 1 (52:31):
Yeah, he does.
Um,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (52:33):
like,
rep changes, I mean.
Like, like,
Track 1 (52:35):
oh yeah, yeah, he does.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (52:37):
then
sometimes, okay, okay.
Track 1 (52:38):
Yeah.
So the one program, so it's fourweek programs, each phase, uh,
through the, uh, the, theprogram is four phases.
Um, four phases, you know, anew, a new phase every month.
Um, but I kept going after that.
Um, so he does, he'll, he'll do,like, phase two, phase uh, one
(53:01):
is high reps, twelve reps.
Um, then, then I remember, Idon't know exactly which phase
it is, but, you know, cause allI have to do is push play.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (53:12):
Yes.
I don't even know what, I don'tknow what I'm doing, but
Track 1 (53:15):
I don't even know what
I'm doing, I just push play and
I do it.
Uh.
The, uh, and then it'll, it'llgo down to four.
So tie is 12 as low as as four.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (53:26):
Mm
Track 1 (53:26):
And, uh, you know, and
that's where the, the heavy, the
heavy stuff comes in.
And that the heavy stuff withthe eccentric is awesome from,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (53:34):
Yeah.
No, eccentric and chains are thedevil.
Those are evil Knievels.
I, I don't think I, I ever curseso much when those suckers turn
on, especially like on standingchest press.
I'm like, Tonal, you're notgetting a hug today.
You are not pulling me backtoday, son.
Track 1 (53:52):
oh, the, the worst is,
is when like you're really
pushing and you're like, oh,yeah.
And then that third rep comesin, it's like It's like, oh
crap.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (54:04):
I
got stuck! The, uh, like, I
made, I made a reel about it,because I was just like, see,
you don't have to be scared tolift hu On tonal heavy and I got
stuck right here on my bench andit was not going up.
There was no way that bar wasmoving.
I'm like, I'm sitting there.
I'm like, I'm pushed, trying topush as hard as I could.
(54:26):
And it was just not going up.
And I had to turn the weightoff.
I had to put, I had to put theweight down.
That's always the worst for me,especially
Track 1 (54:34):
The one time I was
scared.
Yeah, the one thing there's beena couple of times I've been like
that, that it hits my chest.
And then I think the one time Iforget what actually Oh, I was
doing a chess.
I was doing chess wise and thestrap broke
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-202 (54:48):
Oh
yeah.
We remember that.
Yeah.
Track 1 (54:50):
and I'm, and as soon as
the strap broke, I'm like, Oh my
God, my wife's going to kill me.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (54:58):
you
broke you broke her.
Track 1 (55:01):
It's like, and I
remember, I think, I think as
soon as it happened, I like ranupstairs and I'm like, Oh my
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (55:07):
were
Track 1 (55:07):
God, oh my God, oh my
God, oh my God.
I swear this happened.
It wasn't me.
It was the strap.
I didn't do it.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (55:15):
yeah.
But we, you know, like since webought our second hand, we
didn't know how many workoutsthey had done previously or how
old their tonal was.
So, I mean, it was bad.
I mean, they should be replaced.
I mean, the, the new hotness, the new handles are awfully
nice.
So.
Track 1 (55:32):
they are.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (55:32):
re,
we replaced both of them just to
be safe.
Ha ha ha.
Track 1 (55:37):
if one breaks, chances
are the other one breaks.
But yeah, that was a little, that was a little.
Scary.
That scared the crap out of me.
I was like, I was like, Whoa, the hell?
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (55:46):
Yeah.
Well, I remember I tried to fixit and then I tried doing, I
think I was doing neutraldeadlifts at like 60 pounds
cause I had done it at 60 and itwouldn't hold it.
It snapped again.
So
Track 1 (55:57):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (55:57):
you
know, it is what it is, but you
can like, we bought those, bought those like Bobo ones off
of Amazon.
That you just
Track 1 (56:05):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (56:05):
turn
off the way, but
Track 1 (56:08):
Yeah.
So, uh, I think, you know, uh,Mr.
Jeff, Mr.
Jeff has, uh, has all the toys.
And, uh, I was asking him, hedoes, he's, he's got his
attachments have attachments.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (56:21):
Yes,
that is
Track 1 (56:24):
And, uh, I remember, I
think we were, me and him were
going back and forth on, uh,Facebook and, uh, and, uh, he
recommended those straps justfor, for the thing until the
other straps showed up.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (56:37):
Yeah,
but it all worked out for the
best.
It all worked out for the best.
We got everything fixed, got newhotness handles.
So good to go.
Um, all right.
So we've been talking for almostan hour.
Track 1 (56:48):
Oh, wow.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (56:48):
you
believe almost an hour, but it
has been exciting.
So let's wrap this up.
My first YouTube channel episodewith my hubby.
So just wanted to say thank youhubby for always supporting me,
for sending me on a plane to NewYork city multiple times.
(57:09):
and especially this last time togo meet my husband.
All the tonal coaches andmembers and stuff like that.
I just like it, it means so muchthat you kind of like support my
craziness.
The biggest
Track 1 (57:23):
Well, so here's the
offset is like the, uh, you
know, everything that's happenedand going on and everything
it's, it's, it's really superchallenging for you to, to go
out and then I was, I was very,I was, I was happy and excited
that, you know, it got you, itgot you out into the, uh, the
(57:47):
thing and I'm just like, you'reliterally hopping on a plane.
Going to New York and, uh, and,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04 (57:56):
craziest,
like worst place for a
germaphobe ever to go.
Track 1 (58:00):
and you talk about a
woman on a mission.
It was like,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2024 (58:06):
I
Track 1 (58:07):
it was like, like she
literally, she, her stuff was
packed like three daysbeforehand.
And, you know, we're, we'regoing over coat, coat selection
because, you know, Georgia coldis completely different from New
York cold and, and, and all thatkind of stuff.
And it was amazing because, youknow, the.
The fear that we had to overcomejust to do that.
(58:31):
And, um, you know, it's, it's, Iwas very proud of you and, uh,
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (58:44):
me,
like how Joe's helped me and
stuff like that, like, I thinkthat fear of, you know, that,
uh, mama bear, you know, thatlike I can do anything that
adrenaline.
Just like it's all up inside youand you just get so excited that
you're going to like see thisperson that has helped you and
you get to tell them thank youto their face like we had talked
(59:06):
about earlier about like, kindof like how social media and AI
and all this other stuff, youknow, it's, it's still important
to have that, you know, humaninteraction and that, you know,
the, the, the, the people, because that's what, you know,
um, That's what makes it so muchmore fun for me.
It makes it so much more fun tome having, you know, the coaches
(59:28):
and kind of like, you know, nowthat I've met them in person,
it's just like, in my brain,it's just like, we got jokes.
Track 1 (59:36):
well, the one thing I
was concerned with, and if I had
Joe's phone number, I probablywould have called him
beforehand.
I just thought maybe they shouldhave beefed up security with you
being there.
Um, you know, running tacklingJoe.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (59:47):
Joe
could squash me with his bicep.
Track 1 (59:53):
Probably not.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (59:55):
Yeah.
Joe, Joe is Joe.
is like, how tall is he?
Six four, right?
Track 1 (01:00:01):

I think six, four, six, five
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (01:00:05):

Track 1 (01:00:06):
big boys.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10- (01:00:07):
yeah.
Joe.
Yeah.
No.
There's no tackling Joe.
Joe is the linebacker.
Like you said, like you said, you pick the baddest, biggest,
most like
Track 1 (01:00:23):
Yeah.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (01:00:24):
ass.
Coach and then you're just like, you know, what not
Track 1 (01:00:29):
Why not?
I came this far.
What could happen?
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-2 (01:00:32):
what
could happen?
You know, what what what elsecrazy shit?
Could this guy like honestlycome up with and I think that's
like where I was just like I wasKind of like he could actually
do a lot because the optionsthat he throws are a little cray
cray
Track 1 (01:00:49):
I remember I did a Joe.
I think I did a joke.
I think I did a joke.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (01:00:56):
did
Joe's divide and conquer level
up and you lasted like the firstweek and you're like fuck leg
days
Track 1 (01:01:05):
And I remember the,
the, the stretch, the hamstring
stretch.
squadcaster-9f1e_3_04-10-20 (01:01:11):
Joe
loves the hamstring stretch.

Track 1 (01:01:15):

He loves that thing.
He is all about his hamstringstretch.
Like when he improves thathamstring stretch, because you
can literally, like I took hispower build one class and then,
you know, I've taken some of hislike.
Newer stuff.
His hamst not I'm giving credit.
Man, his hamstring stretches.
(01:01:44):

can laugh at himself because
he'll be doing this hamstringstrike.
Look at that big guy go.

so.
Track 1 (01:02:02):

a John Madden voice.
