What do you do when your dream life disappears overnight?
Olympian Garrett Scantling knows that feeling all too well.
After placing 4th in the decathlon at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, Garrett was poised for greatness. Sponsors. Recognition. Global stage.
Then came the silence.
A suspension.
Two deleted Instagram accounts.
No sponsors.
And a choice: disappear quietly or rise again.
In this week’s episode of Sunday SoulDay, Garrett gets real about what it means to rebuild your identity when everything you thought defined you gets stripped away. No fluff. Just truth, grit, and that unshakable spirit that says, I’m still here.
The road to the Olympics isn’t always gold-plated. Sometimes it’s lonely, uncertain, and full of lessons that don't show up on highlight reels.
We talk:
Life after Olympic glory
Training in the dark—mentally, emotionally, and physically
Coaching high schoolers by day, chasing a comeback by night
Why purpose—not popularity—keeps him going
And how YOU can grow even when no one’s watching
