Disney

Kelli (00:13):
things you know, things you don't know and things you
didn't know you needed to know.

Chris (00:16):
Well, as Walt would say, the way to get started is to
quit talking and begin doing Oh,wait, wait, I can do this. Okay,

Kelli (00:23):
please didn't clear up the doors for football,
Montaigne, God say Alejandro dela.

Chris (00:28):
Welcome aboard Disney fam. Hello indeed out there
Disney fam. Welcome to thisweek's show. My name is Chris
and Kelly. Oh, and Kelly'swearing one of my favorite sets
of ears. What I think youoriginally thought was a Mary
Poppins set of ears. I

Kelli (00:46):
thought they were Mary Poppins ear, which

Chris (00:48):
is a cat tiny hat.
Totally get little flower.
totally get it. But they are infact Minnie Mouse here.

Kelli (00:54):
There are Minnie Mouse ears with a little flower coming
off of the top. Where's Yep. Andso it's very on topic for me
today. I don't wear these yearsa lot because they are just
sequins to within an inch oftheir lives. Right. And they
itch and they slide off of ifyou're wearing glasses, they
slide right off at the arms ofthe glasses. But they are totes

(01:19):
adorbs

Chris (01:19):
they really are. And I mean, thank God for me to set
you straight there.

Kelli (01:23):
Thank God for you. As always. Hey, did anybody listen
to us? This

Chris (01:28):
literally just pause to give you an opportunity to ask
that question.

Kelli (01:32):
Well, where were they at with

Chris (01:34):
your list? Because yes,

Kelli (01:36):
of course no.

Chris (01:36):
Some on San Bernardino, California. Yes. Lovely,
beautiful SoCal town east of LA.
Okay. Big Bear Lake. All right.
Beautiful. Yeah. Reno, Nevada.
Oh, the biggest little town inthe world. Not far from Tahoe
and urban arena. Okay. Maybe gogamble in Reno. Yeah.

(01:57):
Independence, Missouri. Now

Kelli (02:01):
Independence, Missouri.
Love it. No, no, no, that'sliberty. That's liberty.
Liberty,

Chris (02:05):
only different Missouri town. Totally different Missouri
town. But both around the ideaof freedom. Yeah.

Kelli (02:16):
I love little liberty.
Missouri. Liberty was

Chris (02:18):
an adorable little town.
But listen to Independence,Missouri. He's got a lot going
on. Okay. It's known as theQueen City of the trails,
because it was the point ofdeparture for the California,
Oregon and Santa Fe trails. Backin the day, of course. It's also
the hometown of US PresidentHarry S. Truman. It's where the
Truman Presidential Library islocated. So Independence,

(02:40):
Missouri has got a lot going on.
Liberty, beautiful to

Kelli (02:45):
liberty is beautiful. And I think they had what was it the
Jesse James Museum, that guythat wrote all the things? They
did totally, totally similar.
Same, same thing. But

Chris (02:55):
thank you for downloading Independence, Missouri folks.
And Dubai. Dubai. Yes, yes,that's

Kelli (03:02):
fun.

Chris (03:03):
It is fun. Yeah. Dubai city in is an emirate in the
United Arab Emirates known forluxury shopping ultra modern
architecture, and a livelynightlife. Wow, of course, the
Burj Khalifa tallest building inthe world. And the Burj Al Arab,
which is that hotel that lookslike a sailboat. It's out there
on that manmade ILO Yes, alongwith a million other things.

(03:26):
Dubai is like a fake placealmost.

Kelli (03:30):
Wow, that's cool. But you know what else

Chris (03:32):
they're doing if ADP listen, I listen that they are
why would why would

Kelli (03:41):
give us the news on alright.

Chris (03:44):
So, I am so excited about this. Do you remember when we
ate in 1900 Park fare? Yes. Whodo we meet there that day?

Kelli (03:54):
Manny? Candy Manny.

Chris (03:57):
Yeah, all the buffet places mixed up. We were that
was the Hollywood and Vine.
We've met Handy Manny there.

Kelli (04:05):
Where is 1900 Park?

Chris (04:08):
Grand Floridian

Kelli (04:11):
Oh, we met the Mad Hatter. We've met the Mad
Hatter. Yes. And I thinkprobably snow

Chris (04:19):
No, I think we met marginalise

Kelli (04:21):
snow didn't get it didn't get a break she does she's over

Chris (04:25):
at her shoes. She gets a breakfast and accuracies. No we
met the Mad Hatter. We met MaryPoppins. I think poo and Alice
in Wonderland. Alice. AliceAlice Alice. She was in
Wonderland anymore. We

Kelli (04:38):
met we met Alice outside of Wonderland. Yeah, right.
Okay. Yep. So

Chris (04:42):
we've got new new people to meet at 1900 Park fare. Okay,
who who's, who's jumping in?
We've got Cindy. Cindy is goingto be Cindy

Kelli (04:51):
welcome Sandy, leaving her castle to pop down tonight.

Chris (04:56):
Aladdin, but Aladdin in his princely outfit. Okay,

Kelli (05:01):
so Aladdin as Prince husband to the new Salton
veteran. Does that make him aprince or does that make him
like first gentleman?

Chris (05:11):
He's dressed nice. He's not dressed like a street
urchin. So we'll go with that.
Okay. We also have Tiana in hereclectic crowd. It's coming from
all different areas here, Tiana, but it's Tiana in her adventure
dress like she's gonna bewearing in the bayou adventure.

Kelli (05:29):
I thought she was wearing pants in the bayou. She

Chris (05:31):
says her adventure adventure. I didn't mean
adventure dress as in it's adress. I meant adventure gear,

Kelli (05:36):
her outfits Yeah. Okay, good. All right. loving

Chris (05:41):
that. Love it. It's got a cute little hat is just the
Dorbz nice. And then my favoritealmost brings me to tears. It's
even mentioned it Mirabelle? Ihave. Yes, that isn't a eclectic
Gris, but I'll go here just tomeet Maribel. I have Jasmine

Kelli (05:55):
feels about Aladdin hanging out with all those other
women at breakfast.

Chris (06:00):
He knows where his bread is buttered. He's He's good.
He's trustworthy. I mean, nowthat he's no longer stealing
stuff. He's

Kelli (06:11):
you know, very trustworthy thief. Yeah.

Chris (06:15):
Now now now now he's very trustworthy thief. So
fascinating. I have also decidedin reading this I have a real
affinity for Maribel. I want tomeet her every chance I get.
Okay. Why do you think that is?
I don't know why that isexactly. But you know, we were
talking about the wholeEnneagram deal. I did that this
week and learned a little bitabout myself and yeah, I want I

(06:37):
want to know what Maribel says

Kelli (06:41):
Do you feel that you identify with

Chris (06:43):
I do feel like identifying Maribel I felt like
I identify with Mirabelle beforeI took that test test but now
maybe I feel like I know why you

Kelli (06:53):
really identify with Mirabelle.

Chris (06:55):
I just reading about her made me get a little verklempt I
love her. Okay, I loveMirabelle.

Kelli (07:02):
Okay,

Chris (07:04):
can we can we can we go there next time and I can meet
her there so yeah, that's thenew lineup at 1900 Park fare.
I'm I'm excited about it. Theyalso have something there. That
seems like everybody knows aboutthis supposed to be delicious
called Strawberry soup.

Kelli (07:23):
Strawberry soup.

Chris (07:25):
Yeah.

Kelli (07:26):
Is it cold?

Chris (07:27):
I think it's cold.

Kelli (07:29):
I think it's cold. So it's like a like a jam jams,
jellies. Jams.

Chris (07:33):
See, bring it back? I don't know. I don't know. But
people at like, it's just thething is they serve it for like
any meal. You can get the Sharperatio bit in the middle there.
Because it's just

Kelli (07:45):
I don't know, Google that that's worth making.

Chris (07:47):
I think so too.

Kelli (07:48):
I'll make some strawberries. So that sounds
delightful. It does

Chris (07:51):
sound delightful.
Strawberry soup.

Kelli (07:53):
I don't know why we don't

Chris (07:54):
want I don't know how we I'm just not coming across this.
Hey, if you've heard of thestrawberry soup or even had it,
tell us about it. We're Healy.
Galactic starcruiser news here.
Okay. Not really. But it came upin conversation recently, Josh
tomorrow was having an interviewor something with CNBC. And here

(08:15):
was a comment he made about it.
This is something that had neverbeen done before. It was
difficult to even explain to thepublic and I think it was
incredibly brave for us to moveinto this space. And this to me
says Imagineering is still atits best today. those learnings,
he says are being employed onthe next experiences, which we

(08:37):
haven't even announced yet. So Inoticed that there are no
wrecking balls knocking thebuilding down. Right. Right. I

Kelli (08:47):
didn't expect Yeah, right. I know there's

Chris (08:50):
a entryway I think maybe I'm wrong from galactic
starcruiser in Tibet to is thatmaybe I'm wrong about that. But
I I agree that it was hard forthem to help us all understand

(09:11):
what galactic starcruiser wasand what it was going, what it
was supposed to be. I agree. Andthen once we did actually start
to have an understanding aspeople started to enjoy it, it
became apparent how big a leapforward Imagineering took with
this thing. ruli I totally agreewith with demaras comments here

(09:36):
that this was a braveundertaking. It just cost too
much money. Yeah. But there isbound to be something they can
do with this thing. Right? Evenif you just open it up for a
dinner show with Gaia, or youopen it up for lightsaber
training, or you open it up foryou know a secret excursion into

(09:58):
the you know Uh, the firstorder's spaceship or something
on a, you know, hour and a halflong mission that you go on in
there just an experience likethat there's bound to be
something that we can use thisfor that gets to have us all
sharing what Imagineeringcreated here because it's pretty

(10:20):
incredible. This. I mean, wetalked, we talked in a previous
episode cost prohibitive for alot of people. Yeah. For two,
two and a half days. Yeah.
$6,000. For a family of four.
It's a lot a lot of money. Icould go on an actual Disney
Cruise for a little less thanthat

Kelli (10:38):
maybe. Right. And that's also significant. That's also
significantly more expensive.
More than two and a half days.

Chris (10:44):
That's what I'm getting at. Right. So it's you're
talking about a week off cruiseversus two and

Kelli (10:48):
a half days, but it was completely immersive. Yes. And
really, really cool. Yeah,

Chris (10:53):
yeah. I just just want them to, I love the idea that
they're taking the learningsfrom that and planning something
else that is in that style. Butthat maybe is more doable for
people. I

Kelli (11:09):
think they could very easily turn that into a high end
Hotel. Yeah, so you could walkinto the park, which is
something that they don't haveat Disney World, right. And I
think that would go overswimmingly like that could very
easily turn into a high endresort, you know, at a pool at a
pool, add some, you know, Ithink they have they have food

(11:32):
in there, but at otherrestaurants, whatever. That
could very easily be a high end,Star Wars themed resort. With an
entrance to the park. Yep.

Chris (11:43):
Yep. Okay, last thing here, Test Track is being
reimagined. I guess all that.
Yeah. I mean, I say get I mean, the test track has been around
for a while now it

Kelli (11:54):
has, but you have to reimagine that on a regular
basis, because it gets out ofdate. So if

Chris (11:59):
you're talking about automotive transportation,

Kelli (12:03):
I mean, we're moving towards

Chris (12:04):
electric vehicles, we are really leaving test track
behind. So here's what Disneyhas to say about the test track
Imagineering. Our DisneyImagineers are gearing up soon.
I see what they did. They'regearing up to bring the next
iteration of test track to lifeand are reaching back into our

(12:25):
history for inspiration, including the original World of
Motion attraction. From theearly days of Epcot. Today,
we're sharing our first look atthe brand new rendering of the
attraction and so there's aonline you can see the what the
promenade outside of test trackwill like in the capture. It'll
still like have a single riderline and all this kind of fun

(12:46):
stuff. But I just wonder whatthey will do to juice it up a
little bit. It's

Kelli (12:52):
currently sponsored by Chevrolet, right? Yes, that's
right. It's still gonna besponsored by chef says yeah,
says it is. Yeah, so that'sinteresting. So I guess it'll be
like whatever Chevrolet sees asthe future of vehicles, so they
have

Chris (13:03):
a big piece of that. I mean, I remember I remember the
original World of Motion Iremember like it was very you
know, Omni mover Spaceship Earthtype attraction journey into
imagination type variety vehicleand I remember the very first
thing we saw was like footprintslighting up on the wall like in

(13:25):
the dark that you were becausethat was our first mode of
transportation right was Watkinscool. Okay, yeah, it very much
went from a transportationfocused focus dried they ended
up with like and now we drivearound in cars and go into our
display room where we've got allthese cool features that looking
cars right right to now it'sreally just test traffic it's

(13:48):
here's how we build manufactureand test cars right? One of my
favorites and build your own canyou build your own car right?
And so I remember one of my oneof my grandma's favorite things
to do was after the World ofMotion attraction to get into
the cars that were on displayonce she got off the ride so you

(14:09):
would literally she'd go getinto all these cars that she
would love to have bought andand just get a get a picture of
me in this Camaro cribs kind ofthing. So I'd love to see some
of those old transportationideas. Come back in there but
we'll see what happens. Allright, you ready for tomorrow?
I'm

Kelli (14:29):
ready honey Tomorrowland.

Chris (14:32):
So on April the fifth Disneyland in Anaheim launched
Season of the Force.

Kelli (14:42):
Okay, what are we talking about? It's gotta be Star

Chris (14:45):
gotta be Star Wars. Look at you. You were such as Star
Wars. You are. You are a starwars that immediately and that
you do. So good. I want to thankDisney Parks blog and undercover
tourist for a lot of theinformation here. All right. So
Disneyland is taking Star Warsmonth, which they almost always

(15:05):
do throughout the month of May,right? Because that's when they
the fourth will be with you. The

Kelli (15:10):
fourth be with you and Life Day is somewhere around in
their lifetime I should say I'mright. At the end right now
November,

Chris (15:20):
November, I think. In any case, they are stretching it out
to entire two months, at leastthis this time. It's going from
April the fifth through June thesecond Wow. Okay, that's Yeah,
they did this back in 2015, Ithink but then they've decided
to relaunch it this year. I feellike there was something that
came with it was a 25thanniversary, something has been
out for 25 years, maybe I can'tremember. But they decided to re

(15:45):
launch the Season of the Force, which will last two months.
Okay. So I thought I'd talkabout some of the things that
they're doing at DisneylandResort in Anaheim to celebrate
Season of the Force has a lot ofcool things happening. Number
one, which is an increasinglypopular thing is a scavenger
hunt. Right so you can go tostar traders in Tomorrowland,

(16:07):
you can pick up your scavengerhunt, sort of placard your
scorekeeper deal. And the ideais you're gonna go around
Tomorrowland and Galaxy's edge, and solve puzzles or look for
clues to fill out your secretcode or card. And then you take
it back to Star traders andyou'll get a prize. If you're

(16:30):
not interested in spoilers, close your ears for five
seconds. As I tell everybodyelse close your ears right now.
It's a trading card that you getwhenever you fill out thing.

Kelli (16:39):
I thought you're gonna say a pin. It's a trading card.

Chris (16:43):
hope that'll happen in five seconds for those people
that didn't want to know. Soanyway, scavenger hunt, and
that's always popular to walkaround and find things I like
the idea that there are puzzlesto solve and that sort of stuff.
And I think the ultimate thingtoo is you solve these mini
puzzles and then that you solvea bigger puzzle at the bottom of
your placard. I also think thatstar traders will just give you

(17:06):
the the prize at the same timethey you start the effort. You

Kelli (17:12):
know I was that that does sound like something that Disney
would do. But I tell you at thething at the poly where you had
to find Hey, hey, oh, yeah, itwas pretty specific. Like she
wanted to see the picture on thephone. She didn't find it.

Chris (17:25):
Did you find it your button? Yes. Because I made a
joke with her about hey, can Ihave you know, I found Hey
again. And she's like it hasn'tmoved.

Kelli (17:35):
Right now there's I think sometimes hay has not been
depending on the cast member youget. i She

Chris (17:41):
was delightful, but she was like willing to give me
more. No, no, certainly not. I

Kelli (17:47):
wouldn't. I wouldn't just tell people then go ask for it.
Sometimes right need to play thegame.

Chris (17:54):
Alright. Hyperspace Mountain returns to Tomorrowland
at Disneyland during the Seasonof the Force. Okay, right. So
this is the Star Wars overlaythat they they incorporate at
Space Mountain is the one inParis always. Hyperspace
Mountain what think it is? Isthat what Hyperspace Mountain I
think it is if that in whichcase? absolutely worth it.

(18:18):
Really, really cool. salutelyYes,

Kelli (18:20):
we went much better Space Mountain experience. We've

Chris (18:23):
always maintained that the Space Mountain experience in
Disneyland is better than theone at Magic Kingdom for a
number of reasons. One of whichis that they have a better sound
and video system incorporatedinto it. They shut that thing
down 10 to 12 years ago did amajor overhaul of that
attraction which includedincreased abilities for sound

(18:44):
and video ride smoother to andthe rider says it's it's a
double you know, Double Ride cartwo seat ride car.

Kelli (18:51):
You can sit next to the redheaded ghost. That's right.
That's right. Listen to yoursegments on yeah, really do
listen to them. I learned thingsand learn things. Thank

Chris (19:01):
you. So yeah, really, really cool. Sort of. I mean,
just Star Wars I mean, sorry,Space Mountain with Star Wars
music alone. It would be reallyreally cool. Yes, but in this
case, you are piloting an X Wingfighter and engaged in a daring
space dogfight with Thaifighters and you come across

(19:22):
Star Destroyers and all thatthat judges the quite a bit of
used years twice now

Unknown (19:29):
you're really into judging I am

Chris (19:32):
just I feel like it's judging up me today. Okay, Star
Wars The adventure continueslook. Maybe the most underrated
attraction at any of the parksthat it is included in Star Star
Tours. Oh Star Tours Love it.
Love it loves Star and it'shard. It's basically just a
simulation ride but they didwhat seemed obvious, but it took

(19:52):
everybody a long time to realizeoh, we just create some new
movie isn't some new experienceswe can make this ride be
different every time you go onit and it has been for us

Kelli (20:06):
yeah I've never been on the same one twice yeah so water
this time that which we went

Chris (20:10):
really it was really cool so but now they are going to
starting it yeah when April thefifth they we get new locations
and characters we get a Ahsokaah we get Cassie and andorre we
get dinged Jaren you love didn'tJaren Oh

Kelli (20:28):
yeah, I do. That's a person on Star Wars that I love.

Chris (20:33):
That's the Mandalorian dear.

Kelli (20:35):
Okay, yeah. It's a person on Star Wars that I love we get
to we get to you're talkingabout I

Chris (20:42):
know you did. We get to visit Perea where we encountered
the purgeable These are thelarge huge great space whales
that are able to travel throughhyperspace, we see them I know
you do. Some people might mightnot that we see them on the
rebel series and in Ahsoka, right? Of course we do. So
really, really excited aboutbeing able to experience that

(21:04):
now. Even though this season ofThe Force is happening at Disney
Land. We get that in DisneyWorld also, they're bringing
that to the Star Tours right atHollywood Studios. Okay. New
characters and back to so thelittle BD X droids, the BD
droids that are that we grow tolove in the video game, fallen
order. We, they were hanging outin that too. They are so tiny.

(21:29):
There's three of them. Theythought about naming them Huey,
Dewey and Louie, but they theyhaven't officially named them
yet. But there's a video onlineright now. Brooke McDonald
posted that video of themdancing.

Kelli (21:40):
Oh my goodness. I

Chris (21:41):
mean, they're like knee high. And these things are
dancing. Incredible. Incredible.
Jeff so cute. presh Sabine Wrenfrom the rebels. Oh, actually
from a souca souca version ofSabine Wren is now going to be
meeting people and back toshe'll be walking around, which
is really, really cool alongwith the Mandalorian and Greg
who are still out there andChewbacca and stormtroopers and

(22:02):
Kylo Ren, they all still there, but they're introducing Sabine
rendering this Season of theForce. She's, she's cool. She's
really cool. Very excited abouta new firework show. Now. Let's
not go overboard by calling ittruly a new firework show. Okay,
here's what they're here's whatthey've done. People sort of
learned that at Disneyland. Areally cool place to watch the

(22:25):
fireworks that are going on, youknow, the nightly fireworks on
Main Street. A cool place towatch them from was Galaxy's
edge, you get a little bit of adifferent perspective. But what
you miss is the music in syncwith the fireworks in the show.
Right.

Kelli (22:44):
So what's a huge deal there? It's a big deal. It's a
dance party.

Chris (22:47):
Yeah, it is. They do a good job there. It's high
energy. Yeah. Now what they'regoing to do here is this is
called a fire of the risingmoon. Since we're shooting off
fireworks, and we've got somepeople that have decided to come
around to Galaxy's edge to watchbut it's pretty quiet over there
during the fireworks. Okay, theyhave taken Star Wars music from

(23:11):
all the different movies andJohn Williams soundtracks and
all these various places andsynced it up with the fireworks
that are already going on onMain Street. Okay, because you
get a great view of thefireworks they go off over the
black spire mountain range. Butnow if you want to watch them
from Galaxy's edge, you get afull on show that is synced up

(23:34):
with the same fireworks. That'sall just now we're going to
we're going to use music fromStar Wars that we've synced up
to the existing firework show.
Here's what that's going to do.
That's going to have mangethat's going to relieve some of
that pressure on mainstreamthere. And they're going to go
over to Galaxy's edge. And whatundercover tourists let's create

(23:57):
point, make sure you go two daysbecause you're gonna want to see
it from Main Street, you'regonna want to sit and have from
galaxies. So, I love that idea.
Yeah. And if they got if theygot like some lighting effects
that are taking place ingalaxies edge and, and some
lasers, maybe Yeah, I mean, that's uh, they recommend

(24:17):
watching it from either thetitle or the TIE Fighter is
sitting or where the MillenniumFalcon is. Okay,

Kelli (24:26):
so that's also really really cool there. That is very
cool

Chris (24:30):
and like using what we're already doing, we're gonna
expand that out like that mighthave another season of The Force
Tomorrowland just dedicated tofood because they have done a
lot of food stuff.

Kelli (24:42):
Okay, that's very cool.
Well, I have World Showcasetoday, and I'm going to talk
about the topiaries of theFlower and Garden Festival. I
may pull up my homework. Thefirst time we went and we took
our kids the youngest was eightYeah. Eight We're walking around
and she just suddenly turns tous and she goes, they do such a

(25:03):
good job with the grass they

Chris (25:07):
do. They do a good job with the grass,

Kelli (25:09):
okay the guy or like, she's not wrong, they do a
really good job with the grass.
So I want to talk about the 10best topiaries at this year's
Flower and Garden Festival, which is saying something it is
because there's plenty there'stons. There's way more than
this. I'm just going for the 10best that I think are the best.
Okay, two of these are new. Andsome of these are old favorites,
but they're they're the best forme in no particular order. Okay,

(25:31):
no particular order. The firstone is Figgy. Now, figment is
over in world celebration Plaza.
And he is sort of set up on topof these two areas like like
rose garden, right? Yeah, itlooks like looks like a
fountain. If you have the Figgytopiary and dreamlike Valley

(25:54):
very similar. But this has thesehuge pink flowers like leading
up to Figgy now we got closeenough and I think Figgis man of
all succulents

Chris (26:06):
I think says it which was really beautiful to see really
beautiful I mean he's he'spurple but yeah when you get
really close he's so manydifferent shades yes purple and
lavender and he's he's gorgeousis really

Kelli (26:19):
really cool. And so essentially some of the stuff
that they did this year thatslightly different is they
incorporated a lot of statuetype things in with the
topiaries now these these arestill you know, floral and green
and all that so like those bigpink flowers that I was talking
about the the flowers themselvesare statues, right right, but

(26:41):
the center of the flower is moretopiary. So it's really cool how
they did that but I love so muchthat they made Figgy basically
this the centerpiece of the parkwith this topiary I think they
did such a such a good job. I

Chris (26:55):
think the center of those flowers might be the same
succulents that most of his bodyis made out of. Yeah, and

Kelli (27:01):
I gotta tell you, like I have killed so many succulents.
When I see this many succulentson one thing, I just think it's
just it's begging for death.
This is what a miracle. I don'tknow if these are like preserved
in some way. I have no idea howthey're how they're managing
this, but I would kill diggy ina heartbeat. Oh, I know. So

(27:21):
sorry. Forget the next oneTiana. Now, I love Tiana. She's
at the American adventure. Tianahas a beautiful, beautiful dress
that she's wearing. She'sgorgeous. And what I love though
about her is there's like thisarch behind her. It sort of has
like, I'm going to call itSpanish mall, when it kind of

(27:44):
looks like it's like the mossthat's hanging off the trees in
Savannah and Charleston. Youknow, which is so very Louisiana
probably Louisiana. Right sovery very Tiana. I just adore
that.

Chris (28:00):
It's a gorgeous it's a gorgeous topiary that it's I
don't know it's

Kelli (28:05):
it's you can't her dress is just so beautiful. It's
ridiculous

Chris (28:09):
and like the use of the hoop just like she's like she's
standing in front of a bigwhoop. You can imagine that is
like either like a Tinkerbelltype thing or some fireworks
sort of tumbling down behindher. It's really so

Kelli (28:21):
so powerful. The next one is new and this is the Groot.
The group topiary now Groot isover near Guardians of the
Galaxy cosmic rewind. And he'sthis is a new topiary. So this
is probably teenage Grootholding like a cassette tape.
And so I'm going to give you alittle bit of background because
this one's brand new is this forthe first time Groot, the flora

(28:43):
Colossus, from the Guardians ofthe Galaxy trilogy has taken
root near cosmic rewind worlddiscussing what they did see
what they did there. The designdraws inspiration from the
entertaining I am Groot short, that's featured on Disney plus,
I don't think I've watched thistitled group takes a bath, where
the lovable character discovershis topiary parent powers. I

(29:06):
haven't seen that as somewhatturned out. As part of the
innovative evolution of topiaryproduction, the team has
seamlessly integrated 3d modelsinto the complete development
and production pipeline for thesecond consecutive year.
Leveraging 3d modeling goesbeyond ensuring visual accuracy
it plays a role in integratingspecial effects and lighting

(29:28):
presentations for The Topiary.
So the team utilizes 3d modelingand printing enhance with
traditional sculpt material andpaint to ensure the depiction of
group was as precise aspossible. The focus on
maintaining the integrity of thecharacter while continuing to
streamline the design and theconstruction process has
motivated us to improvise andevolve how the Epcot

(29:52):
international Flower and Gardentopiary team creates and builds
these incredible pieces ofliving art each year. Explain
Stephen Montevallo he's one ofthe designers in true Guardians
of the Galaxy fashion group isholding a mixtape titled
greenhouse mix Volume One withhis own soundtrack playing. It's
the first time a musical elementhas been incorporated into a

(30:14):
topiary at Epcot. Nice so that'scool.

Chris (30:18):
And the scenery around him is very alien looking. Oh,
it's

Kelli (30:23):
fantastic. Yes,

Chris (30:24):
it's very much great running around and on some alien
planet Tut's

Kelli (30:28):
bro next up lady in the tramp This is in World Showcase
over in the Italy pavilion. Ilove Lady in the tramp this
thing that I love most aboutthis depiction a their dogs
which I love, but it's lady'sears.

Chris (30:45):
Yeah, I knew when I saw this picture, and I knew it was
in your top 10 I was like, thisthing's been here for a long
time. I don't think this is new.
It's it's her ears. Man. That'swhat

Kelli (30:55):
love her ears. I want to sort of scratch right behind I
know, give her kiss aroundlittle nose or blooper or
something. It's just the cutestthing. Her ears are poofy and
fluffy. And I'm like, how dothey do that with grass? I don't
know. But it's love.

Chris (31:13):
It's beautiful. And he's like, Hey, girl. How you doing?
How you doing? And she's givinghim some side. I see. I see you.

Kelli (31:28):
Next one. We could not stop talking about this when we
were there. In March. It's theEncanto

Chris (31:38):
topiary the whole thing at the top you Mirabelle?

Kelli (31:42):
Antonio, Isabella and Louisa. But the one you want to
see is Antonio This is betweenDisney traders in the port of
entry you can't miss it asyou're welcome to World
Showcase. Antonio's hair is thebest is the best thing going. I
can't think of another topiarythat is more lifelike and that

(32:02):
makes me want to just stick myhands in it and just like Ruff
ruff hair.

Chris (32:06):
I want to give Antonio just a little soft familiy so
bad. Oh my

Kelli (32:09):
goodness, it is perfection. So whoever was in
charge of Antonio's hair, welldone.

Chris (32:14):
Somebody said look at this kid's hair in the movie. We
need a plant that is going toduplicate this. Yes. And they
Nailed it. Nailed

Kelli (32:23):
it. They nailed it. The first ever projection mapped
topiary is in Mexico. This isMiguel and Dante. Oh, so in
Mexico Guess we'll get to seeour first ever topiary enhance
with special projection effectsfeaturing Miguel from the Pixar
Animation Studios film Coco.
Miguel can be seen here in hismariachi attire with his great
great grandfather's guitar andDante in his Alibre ye form

(32:46):
flying over a marigold bridge.
With the bright and vibrantcolors we see in the realm and
Coco, it seemed like an obviouschoice when they propose the
idea of using projection mappingtechnology to enhance Dante
during the evening hours. Oncewe decided to create Dante, I

(33:08):
immediately began testingglowing materials like solar
charged paint and variouseffects to portray his at the
real glow. During the day Dantelooks like the rest of the
topiary family. As the sunbegins to set guess should start
seeing his hints of solar chargepaint beginning to glow, and at
night his glow will shine evenbrighter through the use of

(33:29):
prediction mapping technology onpushing contrast between day and
night allows us to incorporatemore lifelike elements into
these characters, providingguests with an unexpected
element of surprise on theevening, and it's amazing.

Chris (33:43):
I love it so much Dante

Kelli (33:45):
is awesome. The marigold bridge amazing. I love that he
glows it's so

Chris (33:50):
so I just love it there that's a new topiary I love that
they're like we've got to comeup with we've we have led the
world in these topiary designs, but we're now we're going to do
even more. Yes and do more.

Kelli (34:01):
I love it. Next up is beauty in the beast in the
France pavilion. not new. Thisis not new. But I just love it.
I just love

Chris (34:11):
how many pictures you think we have in front of them.
1000 1000

Kelli (34:15):
I just love it. Next up also not new is Bo Peep. Now Bo
Peep is standing there with hersheep and woody they are in
world of nature betweenimagination and the land
pavilion. What makes this sogreat is the sheep. The sheep's
hair is made out of monkeygrass. Yes. I have never wanted

(34:36):
to try to recreate a topiary.

Chris (34:40):
They are adorable.

Kelli (34:41):
I think they are brilliant. They're brilliant.
Okay, I'm gonna hurry up becauseat two more, these two are also
new. The dragon in the Chinapavilion, not new. He's out in
the water. Also made fromsucculents crazy beautiful. I
can't crazy it's phenomenal butwho Whoever worked on that
dragon, props to you. Gorgeous.
And then finally Simba andfriends which is in world nature

(35:06):
near the land. It's RafikiMufasa Nala and rific he's
holding up baby Simba. What Ilove most is Baby's Emma's face.
Because like he's not likesmiling. He's like, oh gosh,
what's happening here? But rifichis beard is also symbols name.

Chris (35:33):
Mufasa Mufasa is me.

Kelli (35:35):
Yeah, no, that's my boss's name. So that's not Nala.

Chris (35:38):
Oh,

Kelli (35:40):
that's Mufasa

Chris (35:41):
Oh, no, no, I think you're right. I think I'm
totally wrong. I think this isSimba and Nala and they're,
they're new and at the end atthe end of the movie. I think
you're right.

Kelli (35:50):
No, it The description says we're fakie Simba. Mufasa
and Sarabi Okay, all right. I'mwrong. Yes, yes. So, but again,
my boss's name is crazy is aphenomenal THAT'S IT world of
nature near the land.

Chris (36:04):
What do you think they used for that?

Kelli (36:05):
I don't even know. I don't even know straw. Hey,
painted it dark brown. I've noidea. It's gorgeous. These are
some brilliant, brilliantpeople.

Chris (36:14):
Kudos to the Imagineers that come up with theories. Yes,
these are just 10 but they'reall crazy. Go online

Kelli (36:20):
