Chris (00:01):
Super, super, or whatever the infernal thing is. This is
the Supercalifragilistic awesomeDisney Podcast where

Unknown (00:09):
each week we discuss, you guessed it, Disney things
you know, things you don't knowand things you didn't know you
needed to know. Well,

Chris (00:17):
as Walt would say, the way to get started is to quit
talking and begin doing oh wait,

Kelli (00:21):
wait, I can do this.
Okay, please stay clear of thedoors poor football mantenga
c'est la Hado de las puertas

Chris (00:28):
welcome aboard Disney fam. Hello out there Disney fam.
My name is Chris.

Kelli (00:36):
And I'm Kelly.

Chris (00:36):
Welcome to the podcast coming into just like a bullet
three days late.

Kelli (00:44):
We're killing it.

Chris (00:45):
We are killing it. Just as we said before, which is
white knuckling our way throughlife. We are so happy to have
you listen to us. You're wearingyour glow in the dark 100
engineers for some reason.

Kelli (00:59):
Some of my faves. I mean, a glow in the dark street
singing busts. I mean, okay,

Chris (01:06):
I took that a completely different way. But now I
remember I know it's talkingabout yes.

Kelli (01:11):
I mean, how could these not be one of my favorites?
They're also very lightweight, easy to wear. Classic. Car

Chris (01:19):
last a topical Jason.

Kelli (01:22):
They are topic spot on?
They are all

Chris (01:26):
right. Speaking of a US being happy the people are
listening to us. I've I've gotlike places where people are
listening to it. Oh, wow.

Kelli (01:35):
Okay, where where do people listen?

Chris (01:39):
One of our favorite places the Bronx, New York. The
home of the Yankees. Yeah, okay,Bronx, which is awesome.
Broomfield, Colorado a suburbjust north of Denver. Oh, right.
I was very nice. And I would nothave pronounced this this way.
But you literally heard me dothe pronunciation guide a second
ago. Situate?

Kelli (02:01):
I was wondering why you were having it pronounced
situate situate. Like a word. Heshould no,

Chris (02:07):
you would not pronounce it that way either. If you saw
the spelling, Scituate,Massachusetts, this is a
beautiful, typical New Englandseaside town halfway between
Boston and Plymouth,Massachusetts situated halfway
It is situated situate issituated halfway between Boston.
I bet they say that all thetime. We are situated halfway

(02:28):
between Boston. Yes. AndGeorgetown on Penang island in
Malaysia. Wow.

Kelli (02:35):
I know. Georgetown Malaysia not see that.

Chris (02:39):
And it's two words George Town. Oh,

Kelli (02:42):
no. That's better. That is. That's better. That's
better. Yeah, it makes moresense.

Chris (02:46):
I also really, really excited that we got a review on
Apple podcasts this week. I knowwho this reviewer is. And she is
a Disney expert in her ownright. She in fact, is a former
cast member. I know. I know. Aformer cast member we've

Kelli (03:04):
got a former Casper that listens. Yes. That's pretty
exciting. Did you give did yousend her a sticker?

Chris (03:10):
It's it's on its way.
Okay. Probably paid delivered.
It's fantastic. So but we reallyappreciate that it helps to
bring other people to thepodcast. Yes, absolutely.

Kelli (03:21):
How about the news on okay,

Chris (03:23):
I'm moving right along.
Hey, you know that dude with areally terrible hair that's on
the new Disney OversightCommittee. He resigned Oh no. No
reason given for his resignation

Kelli (03:41):
I don't think it was related to our podcast.

Chris (03:43):
I don't think it was related to our podcast. I think
it might have something to dowith the fact that just days
prior my like Ron DeSantis namedhis wife to the Florida Supreme
Court

Kelli (03:57):
that's not a conflict of interest at all. You

Chris (04:00):
know? I don't know it could it could end up there like
we could end up there

Kelli (04:04):
seriously in Florida.
That type of things and

Chris (04:08):
crazy crazy

Kelli (04:12):
what is her hair look like?

Chris (04:13):
You know

Unknown (04:15):
he's he is she must be blind. I

Chris (04:18):
think she doesn't care much for him. This is pure
leanness knows so be okay.
Because otherwise she wouldn'tlet it go out like that.

Kelli (04:31):
Okay, I mean we like we always say how to you can't
fight every battle. No, you

Chris (04:36):
cannot that sometimes you gotta let go. Like you know
what, I really got a hugeaspirations man.

Kelli (04:42):
And so I'm just gonna let him leave the house like that
everyday. That's better than mefighting that. But as far as
chat is better Sure. You knowwhat honey, you got? You got
headshots today. Go

Chris (04:52):
you go get a You look great. Go get them honey.
There's two jerks in Nebraska.
They're doing a podcast I canfinally be and that's about All
you got to worry about. Now shehas she's asked price and she's
done the fraud of FloridaSupreme Court now. So she's got
other things to worry about thanhis hair. Speaking which the
judge in the case of the lawsuitDisney filed against Ron

(05:16):
DeSantis and others, Mark WalkerDeSantis and company have have
filed a motion to have himrecuse himself from the case and
move it to another judge.
Because in other cases ofgovernment overreach, and you

(05:40):
know, reaching out to punishprivate businesses or whatever,
this judge apparently has usedDeSantis attack on Disney as a
as an example of how that's notokay.

Kelli (05:51):
It's so perfect. I love that so much. A I wish his name
was Mark Wahlberg, becausethat's what I thought you were
gonna say. And be I also thoughtyou were gonna say because he
wants worked at Disney. You

Chris (06:03):
know what, that's probably a really good chance
that a lot of people did. Butyeah, and of course, Disney
poses that and says, You guysare just judge shopping to get
somebody that is friendly to youso

Kelli (06:17):
well. And so if you oppose that, are you not also
judge shopping? Aren't we judgesopping? Well,

Chris (06:23):
but they they're fine with this guy being the judge
that she was assigned to?
They're fine with that? Ofcourse, yeah.

Kelli (06:28):
They didn't ask for it.
That's you got assigned to it.

Chris (06:31):
The new oversight district administrator, this is
the guy that was the $400,000guy he has, we'll call him the
$400,000 man who was on drawn tosynthesis, I'm using air quotes
Ethics Committee. He has, he hashe's exploring an advisory board

(06:57):
that Disney Springs. proprietorscan join to have some input in
the decisions that the boardmakes. I'm sure this is a this
is an attempt to give back, youknow, I'm gonna get me to give
back something here because youguys are so upset with the
decisions that we are likely tomake that are going to impact
your livelihoods and businessesand employees, etc. So we'll

(07:20):
create this advisory board thatyou guys can be members of and
offer input into the decisionsthat we make. And then we won't
listen to you at all advisorylikely, likely not. But I don't
remember an advisory board beingneeded previously. I mean, so,
you know, it's we're gonnaadvise

Kelli (07:37):
you the opposite of what you want to do. And you're still
going to do what you want to do.

Chris (07:42):
Most likely, that's what the cynic would say. Anyway.

Kelli (07:47):
I am nothing if not that.

Chris (07:49):
Disney Axios did their yearly poll where they polled
the most polarizing brands inAmerica. Disney was named as one
of the top polarizing brands inAmerica. I think they were like
number four, maybe on the list.
Wow. Yeah, it's prettysurprising. Yes, I mean, but it
was almost strictly by politicalparty lines. So obviously, the

(08:13):
hole really focuses on politicalparties. Well,

Kelli (08:21):
and when you take the poll to matters, right, if
you're taking it right now, during all this whole blue, then
it's going to seem much morepolarizing than it would say,
during the Christmas season.
Most likely, yes, that's truewhen the parks are just
overflowing and printing money.
Well, to

Chris (08:37):
that point, the very next article I read after Disney one
of the most polarizing brands inAmerica, Disney has just
recently opened up theirbookings for 2024. You can go on
to Disney's website and you canstart booking your 2024 trips.
They had to shut the thing downreally quickly, because they
were bombarded with high demandfor bookings next year. Just so

(08:58):
polarizing, hugely polarizing,so

Kelli (09:00):
polarizing, that they are overbooked, or they're having to

Chris (09:04):
shut the bookings down.
We got too many people thatweren't. So we you know, we had
the story about Disney decidingto not move the parks
imaginaires to Florida to theLake Nona property that they've
purchased 60 acres of property.
And they actually have until2028 to decide what to do with

(09:27):
that property. So there's acouple of milestones. The first
one is I think, 250,000 squarefeet of space, completed
occupied by 2028 or something,or they had to sell it back to
the Lake Nona property LLC. Atthe purchase price. Oh, well,
but an adjacent article that Iread talked about all of the

(09:51):
developing that was going totake place on that property that
wasn't Disney related specificto Disney like all The other
developers that were like, oh mygoodness, yes, Disney is going
to have a office building with2000 people, what could we build
around there and make gobs ofmoney? And they are legit

(10:12):
distraught at this point, ofcourse. So the bomber the

Kelli (10:15):
Imagineers right, so these are the people who are
making the most money. And we'regonna build an office building
and put all the the highest paidemployees and all the other
creatives,

Chris (10:23):
right. Yeah. And I think that their their plans
originally had them using maybelike 11 acres of the 60 acres.
So all the rest of it was goingto be developed by other folks
and those were going to be jobsand in revenue for the state. So
on and so on, and so on. Awesomedecisions all around. On a more

(10:45):
festive note, Disney World hasreleased their pride month Food
Guide. Ooh, sounds like a bonusepisode. You know if you're
gonna be around. By but that's,that's a fun one.

Kelli (10:57):
It is fun.

Chris (11:00):
Scaffolding has arrived at the Magic Kingdom for the
construction of Tiana's food,Tiana's foods water tower that's
gonna go as food water towerYeah, that's going to be like
the signature weenie thing forthe new Bayou adventure. Right
is her our tower. This is Johnus foods on it. So that that's
moving right along in Did yousee that they closed Splash

(11:21):
Mountain yesterday in Disneylandto prepare. Yeah, so Splash
Mountain at Disneyland shut downyesterday to prepare for Tiana's
Bayou adventure out there. Sothey gave cast members had the
final ride and I think his nameis Ken Paxton. He's an
Imagineer. I think that's hisname. That that helped design
Splash Mountain. And so he wasone of the final riders

(11:44):
yesterday he went he took acouple of little water bottle
little jugs and got water out ofthe ride. Allowed can well can
did it can it's like being animagineer that build this thing
comes with privileges.

Kelli (11:56):
So it's her her her tower going to be like where the water
comes from on the ride. I don'tremember seeing sketches that
had a tower. Oh, yeah. Yeah,

Chris (12:05):
you need to go back and look. Yeah, water tower like a
wooden water tower. Okay. Idon't know if that's where the
water comes from.

Kelli (12:13):
But like it's that big.
You said it's a weenie?

Chris (12:15):
I think it's yeah, it's I think it's going to be the
weenie Oh, conversationsridiculous. Oh, God. Disney
released their new dining planthat will officially launches
January 9. But I think as of nowyou can start 2024 of 2024. But
as of now, if you booked forJanuary 9 or later, you can

(12:36):
actually book a dining plan, which is

Kelli (12:39):
site crashed, because everybody loves the nearby does
love the dining plan. And Igotta say, it's coming back
crashes, like, Yep,

Chris (12:45):
it's more it is more expensive than it was before.
But I still think it's probablya good deal. It's 57. The quick
service dining plan is 57 bucksfor adults. 2383, which is very
specific. It's actually 5701day, per day. Yep. And with the
quick service here, two quickservice meals, a snack and the

(13:06):
refillable mug, the Disneydining plan, one quick service
meal, one table service meal, asnack and the mug for 9428 per
day for adults. And 2969 forchildren's actually less for
children than it was on the oldplan.

Kelli (13:24):
It's the table service sounds like a better deal to me.

Chris (13:27):
So 100 bucks a day. Yeah.

Kelli (13:29):
Because you're the table service restaurants can easily
be $100. Just in that meal. Yes.
Whereas for quick service. Idon't know. I think I could get
out of two quick service meals amonth. Because you can't take
the refillable mug in the park.
do any good. Yeah. So a snackand two quick services for $57.

(13:50):
I think I can do better thanthat. Okay,

Chris (13:52):
well, I don't want to try either.

Kelli (13:54):
Okay.

Chris (13:56):
Let's try to beat it. By trying to beat the quick
service. We got so much newsthat we didn't get tickets you
just kept on going on. You gotTomorrowland all lined up.
You're excited about all right.

Kelli (14:07):
So I don't know if you've heard, but there's a new haunted
mansion movie coming out. I haveheard from you. So we got the D
two, three. D 23. Magazine inthe mail. And I gotta say that
is still one of my most favoritethings that we've purchased.
Isn't he? Why? Yeah, it's good.
The magazine is gorgeous. Andit's

Chris (14:25):
it's like a table. Yeah, it's

Kelli (14:27):
like a coffee table Magazine this

Chris (14:29):
month. They might be quarterly but it feels like it's
monthly. Well, we

Kelli (14:31):
got one of the three random covers in our cover was
the Haunted Mansion cover. And Iwas so excited to pull that out
of the mouths. Like I'm so gladwe got haunted mansion. I mean,
Little Mermaid and it elementalwould have been great to me. On
image is my favorite, favoriteride. It's my favorite ride. So

(14:54):
in case anybody didn't know thatit's my favorite ride. Okay, so
let's talk about the movie.
Okay, so a couple of fun facts.
The movie opens in theaters onJuly the 28th. We'll both be
back in the States, then it'sgoing to be a huge deal. I'm
very excited about it. This isset for release 20 years after

(15:16):
the first haunted mansion filmadaptation. So this is not the
first time this has been onfilm, right. And all of them
have been fairly different. Sothis is set for release 20 years
after the first, this is thethird adaptation. In fact, after
haunted mansion, 2003 andMuppets haunted mansion in 2020.

(15:39):
Well, I

Chris (15:39):
wonder if the Muppets were counted. I

Kelli (15:40):
liked them up. I liked the Muppets one better than the
2000

Chris (15:45):
I don't think that's a that's a pretty low bar though
for me. So

Kelli (15:48):
Disney reportedly wanted to reboot the film because it
sees it as potentially havingPirates of the Caribbean level X
success partnership reviews mynumber two favorite ride. So
those two rides like I'm herefor that, let's just do 10
sequels of each.

Chris (16:04):
The first pirates was really a sensation, though.
Well,

Kelli (16:07):
that series, the pirate series to date has earned more
than $4.5 billion at the globalbox office and further movies
are on the way. Fun fact thesame studio that produced
pirates is going to be producingthis one. Okay, that works. And
so I would, I've looked at themovie, I've seen the trailer
about 1000 times. And so I wouldsay it's got that same kind of a

(16:29):
slightly dark, edgy vibe. Youknow, a haunted mansion. But I
mean, you know, like even thebig house for the governor's
daughter in the show

Chris (16:39):
feels like the production value is a lot better for this
one. Yeah.

Kelli (16:43):
So I want to be clear like we're talking demon
possession. really creepy ghostmind games, but also some humor,
but we're talking about likehaunted mansion esque dark
humor. The trailer says that ittakes you for a ride, which I
think is fantastic. And at onepoint in the trailer, you see
this person in like a big queen,a and chair that sort of harkens

(17:07):
to a doom by going down thefront stairs of the mansion.
It's it's fantastic. The set wasactually magnificent. All the
cast talks about that RosarioDawson was blown away and she's
worked on several Star Warssets. Yes, she's good point. She
talks about how amazing the setwas. Tiffany Haddish said I
never wanted to leave the set. Ialways wanted to hang out on set

(17:29):
because it felt like I washanging out in the haunted
mansion at Disney Rome and thedining room. Oh my goodness. I
wish they would have let me eatlunch there but they wouldn't.
The director says there are somany easter eggs packed into the
movie for fans. It is impossibleto miss them. But saying anymore
would ruin

Chris (17:48):
Oh, that's awesome.

Kelli (17:49):
So this movie is directed by Justin Simien. He's a man of
color. And fun fact he once helda summer job working at the
Haunted Mansion at Disney Land.

Chris (18:01):
Oh, awesome, man. I love it. That is so cool. You know
that's got to be so cool forhim.

Kelli (18:05):
It's gotta be so cool.
He's an American filmmaker andactor and an author. His first
feature film was dear whitepeople. And it won the US
Dramatic Special Jury Awardbreakthrough for breakthrough
talent at Sundance Film Festivaland it was also later adapted
into a Netflix series same name.
He has also been named tovarieties 10 directors to watch

(18:26):
lists. Okay, fun fact aboutJustin. He is also the writer,
executive producer and creatorof Lando. The series Lando No
kidding. Yes. In December 2020,Lando was announced as a Disney
plus limited series focusing onland towers with a story written
by Justin. That's awesome. Isn'tthat great? And back to the

(18:50):
podcast. Yes, in May 2022,Kennedy stated that the series
was still in development, andthat they were having
discussions with Donald Gloverabout reprising the role from
solo A Star Wars Story in thisseries. So it's still in the
works yet, but it's coming andJustin's the guy Nice. Okay. So
let me give you a summary andtalk about specifically some of

(19:11):
the stars. So first, Gabby isRosario Dawson. She is a single
mom, she purchases a stately oldNew Orleans mansion after a
tragic, tragic event up north.
She's living up north with herson, and she and her son decide
to move to New Orleans, whereshe's from to make a new start.
Okay, a completely fresh start.

(19:33):
She wants to introduce your sonto New Orleans and just totally
start over. They purchased themansion sight unseen, to turn it
into a bed and breakfast, notknowing that it is filled to the
brim with 999 Happy haunts. Funfact, Rosario played a souca in
the second season of theMandalorian and the book of Boba

(19:55):
Fett, among many other things,and

Chris (19:58):
she'll she'll reprise that role. Yes. Okay, yes,

Kelli (20:02):
Gabby and her son Travis, this is played by Chase Dylan.
Realize the house is a lot morethan they bargained for. And it
was it was a really good deal.
But they realized it's more thanthey bargained for and so they
enlist a ragtag gang ofspiritual experts to help read
the space of the supernatural.

(20:25):
So this ragtag gang includes aparanormal tour guide, a psychic
a priest and a historian. Theycome together as an ensemble
cast to fight the ghosts of thematch and you love a good
ensemble can

Chris (20:38):
I do love a good ensemble can

Kelli (20:40):
I do to chase is up and coming. He has a 14 year old
from Lafayette, Louisiana, andhe's currently live in
Connecticut. He has two moviescoming out, but he's done mostly
TV series. He's going to be big.
I'm telling you he looks like ayoung Gary Coleman from
different strokes. When I sawthe cover of the one of the move
the D two, three, I was like, Ohmy gosh, is that Gary Coleman

(21:01):
like shrunk down. Like I thoughtit was today Gary Coleman shrunk
down because that's what itlooks like on the cover. No, he
I think he looks just like GaryColeman. This is significantly
different than the premise ofthe ride. The Haunted Mansion.
Okay, and very different fromthe Eddie Murphy version. In the
trailer, we don't see anysinging busts. Nor is there a

(21:24):
prominent bride or a masterGracie, there is a bride, but
she's not prominent. And she'sclearly a bit unhinged as I like
the bride to be.

Chris (21:38):
I mean, the bride in the ride is unhinged. Right. And

Kelli (21:41):
we maybe only get a glimpse of some hitchhiking
ghosts. Right. So a lot of thethat part that was so big and
Eddie Murphy, not prominent inthe trailer. So here's some of
the others that are in the casta booze who, as they say, it is
a fantastically diverse cast.
You've got Jared Leto as theHatbox Ghost Hatbox Ghost. Oh,

(22:04):
and Wilson is the priest Okay.
In the trailer, he says, God,give us a break. There's so many
bad people in the world hauntthem. Tiffany Haddish goes,
amen. It's fantastic. DannyDeVito is the college history
professor. Jamie Lee Curtis isMadame Liotta. She looks

(22:28):
phenomenal. Love it. HasanMinaj. A huge fan of Hasan.
Absolutely. Is a sketch artist.
And there's a clip with him inthe trailer. That is phenomenal
and fun fact if you use Waze, you can actually change your
voice for directions into HasanMinaj right now I've done that.
It's fantastic. Tiffany Haddishis Harriet. She is the French

(22:50):
Quarter psychic. Okay. Allright. Look, Keith Stanfield
plays Ben Mathias. And he is awidowed scientist turned
paranormal tour guide. Yeah,he's fantastic. He was a
detective and knives out. Yes,that's

Chris (23:09):
right. Yes, yes. Yes. All right. Okay, Wynonna,

Kelli (23:11):
Ryder is rumored to be the bride. We know she's in the
cast, her role has not beendisclosed and interesting. So
the rumor, of course, is thatshe's the bribe. So here is the
core. And this is a quote fromthe data through magazine. At
its core, the movie isincredibly funny and heartfelt.
Of course, the fun and scaresare there, as is the lore of the

(23:34):
mansion. But the real gatewayinto the story was this set of
eccentric characters whodesperately need a found family.
I'm gonna love that bar. And Ilove it. And we worked hard to
bring that aspect of thescreenplay to life that loves
that that's why you lovegardens. Why

Chris (23:53):
I love guardians. I love that kind of stuff. I hope they
all end up living in the housetogether

Kelli (24:05):
it's gonna be awesome.

Chris (24:06):
I mean, anybody living in a house with Danny DeVito it's
gonna be a fun time.

Kelli (24:09):
It's gonna be a good time. I I'm so excited about it.
I cannot and I don't hate theEddie Murphy version.

Chris (24:17):
I'm not a fan.

Kelli (24:18):
I don't hate it.

Chris (24:19):
I'm okay. I'm not a fan.

Kelli (24:21):
I'm a fan I just said I don't hate it. I don't hate

Unknown (24:24):
it. Oh, no, I didn't like the bus

Kelli (24:27):
and I liked that they carry liotta All right.
Interval. In case this one isgoing to be very creep tastic
stellar ensemble casts I amcounting the days.

Chris (24:47):
You know you got so much do between now and then but I do
but

Kelli (24:50):
when I get back to the States

Chris (24:56):
that's awesome. That's awesome. I'm excited about it.
You notice I'm excited aboutsome time. So thanks to Disney
tourists blog again for helpingout with this one. They are
amazing over there. We justpassed Memorial Day in fact we
were supposed to officiallyrecord the day before Memorial
Day that was nor there was twodays ago. Too many and including

(25:22):
myself, that sort of theunofficial start to summer. The
kids are getting out of schoolthe heat starts rising
neighborhood pools open up backin South Carolina.

Kelli (25:32):
Many says this the unofficial start of summer.
That's what I say is theunofficial start to Mini and
also to many

Chris (25:39):
ma ny not many. Not me and Minnie Mouse.

Kelli (25:45):
Minnie Mouse said you know what? I

Chris (25:47):
bet if you asked her she'd say yes what many what is
the official starting to sellout official starting to summer
readmitting oil day so a lot offolks plan their Disney trips to
be in the summertime. Rightwhich is what my family always

(26:09):
do. So don't do it but manypeople are to do it it's that's
what I always went growing up.
So to honor my notes I to honortoday being the unofficial start
of summer we're so bad. Ithought I'd walk through some my
top tips for going to Disney inthe summertime. Right and we've

(26:31):
done some of these types ofthings before but you know,
sure. Here we are. Now it's timefor it. Okay, so number one
thing here pack for the heat.
Okay, temps and humidity inFlorida during the summer
combined to easily make it feellike it's 100 plus degrees even
when it's like in the 80s orwhatever right? It's gonna feel

(26:54):
way hotter than it is you'regonna like feel your skin
crispy. Yeah, and for somereason Animal Kingdom always
feels hotter for some reason tome I don't know why that is. But
you know Disney is all concreteand asphalt and hard surfaces.
So it

Kelli (27:09):
feels more humid maybe maybe this is the jungle ask
five maybe so sure.

Chris (27:15):
So but carry a shoulder bag, a light shoulder bag with
some with some stuff you'regoing to need sunscreen screen
up man just just because you'rein a parking lot laying on a
beach you know tanning you canstill get burned a lot of those
lines stretch out into thesunshine. So pack some sunscreen
SPF hat or an umbrella and or anumbrella or parasol as it were

Kelli (27:40):
with SPF not just yes your basic umbrella umbrella
with SPF barrier no

Chris (27:45):
people like you can just burst into flame even starting
just

Kelli (27:49):
thinking about this segment

Chris (27:53):
I'm gonna say also were quick dry clothing Oh yeah, we
don't a it's lighter usually. Italso makes it much more
enjoyable to do something you'rereally going to want to do on a
hot day as ride those waterrights. The falls ride at Animal
Kingdom, the Splash Mountainthat no longer runs but futures

(28:15):
to by adventure. Yes, you'regonna want to ride those you can
get super wet but nobody wantsto like slog around for the rest
of the day. You don't want toyou don't want chafing. No you
do not. So we're that quick dryclothing it's gonna make it's
gonna make it a lot easier thatdecision to go get on those
water rights. And I would sayalso frog tog chili pads in frog

(28:39):
talk chili pads are awesome. Wetthem down wring them out they're
nice and cool. Combine that witha neck fan. Genius neck fan
right? Yes so they make theseyou can buy them on online will
link these things

Kelli (28:54):
are not sexy. All Yeah, you do not feel like beautiful
beautiful when you're wearingthis but you feel better than
the person standing next to you.

Chris (29:04):
You know you don't look like you feel beautiful anyway
in the Florida heat you

Kelli (29:07):
don't sew that up

Chris (29:08):
yeah get that get about looking beautiful and the
Florida heat or Disney World.
We'll we'll link to a bladelessfan that Disney tourists blog
suggested but you literally wearthat we have a couple you wear
them around your neck you turnthem on and they literally just
blow cool air really onto yourneck. Combine that with a chilli
pad.

Kelli (29:29):
I ordered those for our trip that time we went and you
were like I don't know and thenwe got there you realize oh this
is fantastic. I was wrong.
That's right you were yourbatteries kept running out
before mine did wore that thingout.

Chris (29:41):
Alright, the next the next tip is to hydrate. Pack a
water bottle don't buy water oryou snacks for bottles of water.
You know when the dining planexpensive? Yeah expensive
expensive. There are waterfountains including those that
are meant to refill waterbottles scattered about the
parks. Use those a worst casescenario go to a counter service

(30:02):
location ask for a cup of water,it's free, it's free. So go do
that but you are going to sweatso falling out because you don't
drink enough water is just anunforced error. You don't want
to put a serious dent in yourSuperfund time now

Kelli (30:18):
you don't want to fall out I've been to first day job
and they're nice I have fallenout at Disney and they are nice
people but that's not where youwant to be when you got you got
Lightning lines lined up

Chris (30:27):
fax

Kelli (30:29):
literally stumbled out of first aid at that point because

Chris (30:32):
I've got a fast path man Don't you think you need to lay
down for a little bit faster Igot Lightning lights. We don't
mess around. Okay, take it easy.
The next tip oh is

Kelli (30:47):
that a tip from you is to it is like to refer people back
to the part where I juststumbled out a first date
because we had a fast

Chris (30:57):
you stumbled out. I was at Starbucks chillin

Kelli (31:01):
because I'm the one that fell out.

Chris (31:04):
Take Take it easy. You have to plan for downtime we've

Unknown (31:07):
talked about this before. And you do a horrible
job at it.

Chris (31:11):
I did great when I went there by myself you

Kelli (31:13):
when I go you drag me to my death

Chris (31:15):
you are the variable their plan plan for the
downtime. This is the time ofyear to plan for early starts
with resort time in theafternoon. Do that rope drop, go
out there early before thetemperatures get to their
hottest part of the day and thenplan for that resort time in the
afternoon. But resort timeequals naps pull time. Maybe

(31:37):
plan for a dinner at a resortbefore heading back to the park
at night time for some more fun.
It's a great opportunity, infact to eat at places that you
might not normally eat atbecause you you can the resorts
offers so many wonderful diningoptions and they're air
conditioned y'all. They're allair conditioned and the doors
aren't opening all the time likethey are in the parks. It maybe
it's easier to do this if you'restaying at a resort that's

(32:00):
closest to the parks. at MagicKingdom. I highly recommend
taking a nice boat ride. Justleave the park even if you're
not going to go after thegrandfather and staying at Poly
or contemporary or whatever.
take a boat ride over to GrahamFlo Polly just to just to go and
get out of the park for a littlebit sit down and get the breeze

(32:21):
from the water

Kelli (32:24):
is nice for that too

Chris (32:25):
outgrows that next option. If you're at Epcot or
Hollywood Studios take a breakby taking a round trip on the
skyline or just take it out towhere it goes and ride it back.
You can take a boat ride aroundCrescent Lake right just hop on
the boat on Epcot, just go seethe Yacht Club and boardwalk

(32:46):
either of these options aregoing to take you to some
amazing dining options at any ofthese resorts and take a long
boat ride out in Fort wildernessand back from Magic Kingdom
breezes and all that Yep,exactly plan for dark rides,
theater shows etc during thehottest part of the day in the
afternoons if you can. You canadventure it's air conditioned

(33:07):
in there it's air conditionedprogress usually just fine.
You're

Kelli (33:11):
looking for cushion seats and air conditioning as you are
no loud noises Yes, that's goingto be carousel progress.
American adventure. Yep. arewilling to break into halves the
whole President Hall the

Chris (33:22):
President's right. So yeah, plan for those dark rides
and theater shows. Leslie justsit find a spot to people watch.
I love that people watch. Justfinding a spot on Main Street
USA sit down on the curb in myscreen, eat some ice cream and
watch people for a minute. Maybeyou catch a parade or a
cavalcade or something. Justtake it easy there. Yes. Last

(33:45):
thing. Embrace the rain. It'sFlorida in the summer, you can
practically set your clock byafternoon rainstorms manna from
heaven, Disney. Disney makes afortune on those little plastic
punches. You can always packyour own all that good punches
are fine. I say since shedecided to wear those quick dry

(34:05):
clothes anyway. Just embrace thedriving rain. Think about how
much fun you had as a kid whenyou played in the rain. Right?
It felt like you were doingsomething wrong or whatever, but
it felt great. Embrace thatyou're on vacation, play in the
rain. Don't be stupid withlightning. Get out of get out of
the lightning. Right buteverybody in the park is going

(34:28):
to run for cover when it startsto really write just you're
gonna you're gonna have allthose little walkways Mainstreet
USA practically to yourself, ifyou just embrace the rain. Yep.
So that's my tips I pack for theheat. Yes, hydrate, take it easy
and embrace the rain. Rememberthat time we put the kids on
that Triceratops ride for liketwo hours? Oh my gosh. It just

(34:51):
sat

Kelli (34:51):
there crying a long time in diner land. You went and got
teas for us at Jeffrey Jaffa? Idid. We're sitting there in
ponchos wish didn't have fun.
Well, no, I we had to punchwhile we had the punches but
we're just I mean, it is pouringpouring rain around our land.
And the girls were like, Can weride rides? I mean, we were
already so yeah, we're likeyeah, go

Chris (35:10):
go for it. Go get on it go get on. We were at Animal
Kingdom that day for 16 hours wewere and

Kelli (35:15):
we were all soaked to the core. And they had a blast ride
that ride in the rain. is somuch more exciting when it's
raining.

Chris (35:27):
Yep, so that's your that's your tips for the
summertime at Walt Disney Worldif you if you dare to take on
the heat. God bless yourshutters. Yep, that's right.
That's our show for this week.
