This is an interesting one. Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
Oh, Sonora, Mexico is in the inthe sort of extreme northwest
portion of the country. Notterribly far from the US border.

following the 1913 assassinationof the Mexican president. This

celebrate and we certainly did.
We We love all and love is loveloves Disney is also celebrating
Pride Month by bringing back inone of numerous ways they're
bringing they're celebrating butone way is they're bringing back
those photo walls who rememberthe love and rainbow photo walls

that they that they had I thinklast year for those are back in
all the parks. So there'sthere's at least one in every
major Park disney world whereyou can go and take photos in
front of the

walls. I didn't read about themerch.

Because we do. Yeah. So the DVC lounge at Epcot. Is is
shutting down temporarily. Forrefurb I think mainly their
their rooms like seeing theelevator that's there wow which
we didn't we never experiencedthe thrill of that elevator ride

right yeah replacing on elevator putting in like you
know a bar that they shouldsmall kitchen with appetizers

and yeah, yeah, but I'm not complaining. It was raining.
I had blisters everywhere.

have brought me a multitude ofbeverages.

I've given you I'm not giving anybody else credit for
the band aid purchase. I was ina bad way. And so I'm just
saying I'm not complaining aboutthe DVC lounge. I thought it was
fantastic. But if we're going totake the time to refurb it we
can do a little bit more thingsto just the elevator. You can
add more seating, I think wecould add in a bar area. You
know, just some appetizers.

Well look. So as a DVC member, though, you can still
experience a lounge at Epcot.
What they've done is they'vegone over to that Odyssey
pavilion area where they oftenhave like they'll they'll turn
it into a food booth for theFood Wine Festival, that sort of
thing. They've they'vepartitioned off part of it to
make it the DVC lounge in themeantime while the one has been

over it imagination for the MSP.

you a cotton delay on they willnot give you for I passed that's

which I thought was a bitstingy. But then when I did sort
of pass out there in the lobbythey did offer me a bid they did

which is probably the most Disney thing ever. I'm
passing out in first aid. Theyoffered me a bed but no, we got
a fast we've got a fast pass.

And I was like if you could just give me two more of
those Advil, like how muchlonger do I need to stay here to
get four of one just give me acouple more and I'm on my way me
too and to know what I'msupposed to do with that

it doesn't tells you also tells you how long it's been
since that happened since we'rewe had a fast pass I

mean it doesn't feel that long does not really does but I
was I was really really sick.
And they they did what theycould for me there were other
sick people using beds and such.
Apparently a bed opened up whileI was a bit surpassing out and
so they woke me up and said manwould you like a bed and I
looked at my watch and I saidnope

tropical Americas pavilion thatthey're they're replacing the

possibly. And so this isbasically looks like some of the
same concept art but just from adifferent vantage point, okay?

can see casita in the conceptart that was officially
released. but this is likeground level looking flush at

same thing ground level of likean entryway that looks like it
would be to an Indiana Jonestype themed area.

a spend some time in the tropical Americas?

Did he because I thought he was in like Africa.

And for the first movie.

but in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull he was in? I think

Everybody on dreamlike Valley says that the best place

there's a lot of bamboo shootsand stuff I think I don't think

that. But everybody's reallytrying to push for that. And I
haven't moved her yet because Ireally like because you are the

Polly's tower, officially, the new island tower
at Polynesian resort officiallyopens December the 12th. And
it's looks beautiful, very. Ifeel like it's very, it's very
Mallanna themed, but in a reallynice looking way. This is very

similar to a lot of the othervillas that we stayed at. One
nice thing is that the deluxestudios actually had
dishwashers. Oh, okay. Right. Soone of the things that they
really are pushing here is tothis is the first opportunity to
really incorporate some of thosesustainable technologies as they
hit towards their 2030 goal orbeing like carbon neutral or

whatever. Okay. So the theaddition of the dishwashers was
specifically intended to lessenthe amount of plastic, right,
we're not using more plasticforks and knives and things. But
what's really cool is that thethose these beautiful rugs that
are in the facility are madeprimarily from plastic bottles

that have been converted intoreally fine yarn.

on them. And I cannot wait to stay in this thing.

received an honorary knighthoodfrom Prince William. So he is an
honorary night of the BritishEmpire.

continued to strengthen therelationship between the UK and
the US now he's not he's notallowed to. He's not a sir. You

hard to say that. It is hard. Hard to really remember

a baby. I was a baby who's still a baby. Thank you so

is gonna be two years younger than me. Right? It's
right. So they are celebratingthe 30th anniversary of the
release of The Lion King whichby the way, I can't even watch
these days. Yeah,

it's hard. fossa is really hard to watch. It's hard.

If you have not seen the Lion King, spoilers. Spoilers
Mufasa. goes in like such aviolent,

very violent way. And they make his infant son why oh,
so bad. It's brutal. It's verybrutally mean early childhood
trauma to the nth degree. And hedoes not get any kind of mental
health care for that.

He really doesn't. So they're celebrating the 30th
anniversary with a whole slateof new food items that you can
get at the animal kingdom andthey are off the charts. They
look amazing. So eight spoonsCafe which is already one of my
favorite places. They have thethey have the macaroni and
cheese things that are so goodthere.
Kelli (17:41):
Oh, okay. I know what you're talking about. They put
some meat on the macaroni andcheese thing.
Chris (17:45):
Also, you can get it without the meat

They have a drink called theSimba. Okay, this is a mango
flavored slushie combined withgrenadine on top so it looks a
little bit layered there. Andit's topped with two gummies or

then you hop over to the aisle of Java. Okay. There you
can get Tim owns luau. Okay,that sounds fun. It is. By the
way you remember it's based onTim owns hula dance. He doesn't

you can get these Zazu Ice CreamSandwich. This is vanilla ice
cream that sits between twosugar cookies but the sugar
cookies are also dusted withlike this blue cake. So it's a
very modelled looking bluevanilla sugar cookie that

sandwiches. Vanilla ice cream init, of course has a Zazu
chocolate medallion on top.
Kelli (21:51):
Hmm, I thought it was gonna be Zazie his colors. He's
blue. He's blue and yellow andred. It's

Gosh haraam Bay market, which wedon't do enough.

cheesecake. Yes. With a coconutlime crust of vanilla bean

Osiris will have the Shenzistrawberry lemonade Shenzi was
one of the three main hyenas inthe movie. And this is Mina made
lemonade. Minute made strawberrysmoothie with some blue curacao
syrup, and glow cube. Okay, thatsounds fun like a refreshing
drink. Then you got the rightfulruler cupcake. Also, this is

pizza farI it's not the rightfulruler though. It's it's all
around the car. No scar. So thisis a red velvet cake filled with
cookies and cream cheesecake onthe inside. Oh, I know. And then
chocolate icing. That looks likerocks. So like it looks like

celebrating 30 years of mindking with 30

years of The Lion King animal kingdom. Yeah. And I've
only got one minute left. Butthey're also celebrating the
launch this month of Tiana'sBayou adventure from June 28.
through September 6, you can geta few things at the Magic
Kingdom. They're doing this.
They've got some new things allover like at Disney Springs and
other places. But just at theMagic Kingdom at the Golden Oak
outpost, you're gonna be able toget hot honey chicken with sweet

potato fries. Yeah, chickennuggets tossing hot honey sauce,
sir with the New Orleans oliverelish engaged in spicy sweet
potato fries, shrimp gumbo souptena fries, or or or you ready
for it. Tiana's famous Pina islike sweet fluffy bun yeas eight

with a mint julep. She's still in the mid July with
Tiana, Pinocchio's

village Haus Disneyland

in New Orleans at Disneyland she sells a mint
juleps I had it with my hauntedmansion cupcake because she was
selling those while we werethere. It's Tiana that I think
it was. You had to go somewhereto get the vignette days. And I
got the Mint Julep and theHaunted Mansion cupcake, which
was Red Velvet, because it'swhat it's like, I'll do a try. I

don't know. I don't know whyTiana was selling those. I'm
just saying she was making bankoff those mint juleps at
Disneyland.

So there was more things to talk about him.

But she was just printing money. It wasn't New Orleans
wasn't Tiana. It was just NewOrleans Square. It was Tiana.

was haunted mansion. That was the audit. But

it's also in that square area. I'm just telling you Tiana
was doing the mint juleps andthey were good. Could have been
a little bit larger. But theywere excellent. Jana was just
making bank. Go ahead. Start mysegment. I know you tried to cut

skipping forward on DVDs or whathave you. Okay, so you would
have to watch the whole movie.
Well, if you bought the Singalong VHS, then it's just all
the songs back to back. But theywould mix and match. So wouldn't

be like here, all the beauty andthe beast songs here all the
frozen songs, right? So you'dhave a couple of this one and a
couple on that one. So you wouldwant to buy multiple VHS is to
have songs you liked? Well,sure. Okay. I had one in
particular, which I loved. Andwe're gonna get into that. Okay,
but I want to give you a littlebit of a backstory on these VHS
things. So they released thisseries beginning in 1986. And

the idea was that the words wereon the screen and Mickey Mouse's
head was the bouncing ball. Butnot all of them had bouncing
ball. Some of them the wordsjust lit up. There was early
releases, with footagecontaining Professor owl that's
who was on my VHS in his class.

Professor owl actually comesfrom to Disney shorts from 1953.
So Professor owl is old schooland they brought him back to do
professional hour while in thisclassroom. He was voiced by
Corey Burton. And he's hostingthe viewers with his class as
his assistance in some of thevideos. And you also have Jiminy

Cricket. So my video also hadJiminy Cricket as the host.
Okay, so you had the owl likeintroducing it, and then Jiminy
Cricket was the host. These weremade in us, Spain and Mexico,
Canada, UK, Australia, Japan,Argentina, Brazil, France,
Germany, and Italy, in all thosedifferent languages, and in some
case, different versions of thevideo in those languages. Okay,

fairly quickly after 1986stopped, because Zubeida is
horribly racist. And it showsclips from the movie. So that
one's very difficult to findthese days, you can still get on
eBay, but it was zippity doo doccame out in 1986, then Heigh Ho,
the bare necessities you can flyvery merry Christmas songs and

then fun with music in 1989.
Okay, so again, these have veryclear character references and
the title, but it's mix andmatch on the song so it's not
like all Peter Pan songs orwhatever. The second series
began in May of 1990. Now theearly 90s is what Disney would

Pocahontas. Jasmine Beauty andthe Beast, right. So these were
supposedly the empowered womenthat we didn't see from the 50s
although I've mentioned theresearch before, and the
research shows that the women ofthe early 90s actually spoke
less in the Disney movies thanthe than the women from the 50s
and 60s, so we'll just put thataside. We're gonna put Disney

But they did call this theirRenaissance era well during this
early 90s That's when you hadunder the sea. Disneyland fun. I

Okay. Then in the mid 90s, theycame out with Circle of Life
colors the when topsy turvywhich had hunchback songs Pongo
and Perdita honor to us allhappy, haunting party at
Disneyland and sing along withpoohbear and Piglet to Okay, now

then in March of 1999, theyactually re released the 14
videos in different collections.
So it was collection of all timefavorites, the early years
collection of all timefavorites. Magic years
collection of all timefavorites, the modern classics.
Okay, so they re released thosein the late 90s. So this is

about a 10 year span here, wherethis was hot. Yeah, right. This
was hot. They were buying,because you at that point, once
it goes into the vault, youcouldn't get it. Right. I forgot
all about the vault, the vault,there's no ordering this stuff
online. Okay, not in the 80s and90s. That's not what we did,
then people. And so whensomething went into the vault
couldn't get it, it was it wasout of your hands, you had no

chance of ever getting thatagain. Okay. So it was a big
deal. So then they launched somenewly remastered versions in the
early 2000s. and So sing alongwith Tigger on my way, little
patch of heaven. And then theylaunched Disney Princess sing

wonder, why haven't we had anymore of these since, say
approximately 2006?

Well, I mean, was that would have predated streaming
like we have today. So YouTube

launched in 2005. And so once YouTube launched couldn't
really stop, no, they launchedtheir own channel and post the
singalong songs there. Soinstead of creating videos, they
just go straight to YouTube withit, and they're getting the, the
likes, clicks, followssubscribes, etc. Now, here's the

problem with this plan. I'm finewith the plan, put them on
YouTube. Okay, but that's notwhere I found my intro song. I
had to really dig for that.
There are places online, wherepeople upload those entire VHS
tapes have to be illegal, but itlooks to me it came up in the
first page of Google search. Soit wasn't like on the dark web
or anything. Sure. Okay. But inany case, they have 158 videos

on their singalong channel. Andnone of them are the ones from
this one, right? Because theseare all older. Right? So they
don't have like Pocahontas.

at Polynesian resort officiallyopens December the 12th. And

Mallanna themed, but in a reallynice looking way. This is very

similar to a lot of the othervillas that we stayed at. One
nice thing is that the deluxestudios actually had
dishwashers. Oh, okay. Right. Soone of the things that they
really are pushing here is tothis is the first opportunity to
really incorporate some of thosesustainable technologies as they
hit towards their 2030 goal orbeing like carbon neutral or

whatever. Okay. So the theaddition of the dishwashers was
specifically intended to lessenthe amount of plastic, right,
we're not using more plasticforks and knives and things. But
what's really cool is that thethose these beautiful rugs that
are in the facility are madeprimarily from plastic bottles

sir with the New Orleans oliverelish engaged in spicy sweet

She had the VHS tapes of the movies.

Okay, so this is the beauty. Okay, this is the beauty
but also sort of the pain pointwas because you would have to
watch the whole movie to get tothe songs, right? There's no
skipping forward on DVDs or whathave you. Okay, so you would
have to watch the whole movie.
Well, if you bought the Singalong VHS, then it's just all
the songs back to back. But theywould mix and match. So wouldn't

be like here, all the beauty andthe beast songs here all the
frozen songs, right? So you'dhave a couple of this one and a
couple on that one. So you wouldwant to buy multiple VHS is to
have songs you liked? Well,sure. Okay. I had one in
particular, which I loved. Andwe're gonna get into that. Okay,
but I want to give you a littlebit of a backstory on these VHS
things. So they released thisseries beginning in 1986. And

the idea was that the words wereon the screen and Mickey Mouse's
head was the bouncing ball. Butnot all of them had bouncing
ball. Some of them the wordsjust lit up. There was early
releases, with footagecontaining Professor owl that's
who was on my VHS in his class.

Professor owl actually comesfrom to Disney shorts from 1953.
So Professor owl is old schooland they brought him back to do
professional hour while in thisclassroom. He was voiced by
Corey Burton. And he's hostingthe viewers with his class as
his assistance in some of thevideos. And you also have Jiminy
(28:50):
Cricket. So my video also hadJiminy Cricket as the host.
Okay, so you had the owl likeintroducing it, and then Jiminy
Cricket was the host. These weremade in us, Spain and Mexico,
Canada, UK, Australia, Japan,Argentina, Brazil, France,
Germany, and Italy, in all thosedifferent languages, and in some
case, different versions of thevideo in those languages. Okay,

so I've added a little bit offun here. So go ahead and play

I had one particular video thatI loved and we're gonna get into
it. Okay, but I want to tell youhow some of these came out.
Okay, so the first one in 1986was a series, this launch in
October 1986 With zippity dooda. Now, this particular video
(30:45):
fairly quickly after 1986stopped, because Zubeida is
horribly racist. And it showsclips from the movie. So that
one's very difficult to findthese days, you can still get on
eBay, but it was zippity doo doccame out in 1986, then Heigh Ho,
the bare necessities you can flyvery merry Christmas songs and
(31:07):
then fun with music in 1989.
Okay, so again, these have veryclear character references and
the title, but it's mix andmatch on the song so it's not
like all Peter Pan songs orwhatever. The second series
began in May of 1990. Now theearly 90s is what Disney would
call the Renaissance age. That'sgoing to be your little mermaid
(31:27):
Pocahontas. Jasmine Beauty andthe Beast, right. So these were
supposedly the empowered womenthat we didn't see from the 50s
although I've mentioned theresearch before, and the
research shows that the women ofthe early 90s actually spoke
less in the Disney movies thanthe than the women from the 50s
and 60s, so we'll just put thataside. We're gonna put Disney
(31:48):
didn't quantify that properly.
But they did call this theirRenaissance era well during this
early 90s That's when you hadunder the sea. Disneyland fun. I
love to laugh Be our guestfriend like me in the 12 days of
Christmas or the Sing along.
This was the names of the VHS. Ihad the BR guest sing along
okay, which came out in 1992This went with me to college.

Wow. Yeah. And I remember Iwould just play it on repeat
over and over and over while Iwas studying because it was just
background music. And I couldsing along I knew all the songs.
Now you knew the intro. This ishow I knew the intro because

It's like yeah, they come inones into souls. And if you so
chooses, yeah, you got no,right. So I was doing the POV on
the Winnie the Pooh greatadventure ride. And you go
through a section of Heffalumpsand Woozles. And every time I

hear that song, actually I getmad at the roommate who I know
stole this VHS tape when shemoved out. Okay, I know she
stole it and yes, I am bitterand I know her name. Okay. Very
aware of who this was. And I'mupset with her. But so I can

see. So but the Heffalumps andWoozles was my favorite song.
Okay. Then in the mid 90s, theycame out with Circle of Life
colors the when topsy turvywhich had hunchback songs Pongo
and Perdita honor to us allhappy, haunting party at
Disneyland and sing along withpoohbear and Piglet to Okay, now
(34:45):
then in March of 1999, theyactually re released the 14
videos in different collections.
So it was collection of all timefavorites, the early years
collection of all timefavorites. Magic years
collection of all timefavorites, the modern classics.
Okay, so they re released thosein the late 90s. So this is
(35:06):
about a 10 year span here, wherethis was hot. Yeah, right. This
was hot. They were buying,because you at that point, once
it goes into the vault, youcouldn't get it. Right. I forgot
all about the vault, the vault,there's no ordering this stuff
online. Okay, not in the 80s and90s. That's not what we did,
then people. And so whensomething went into the vault
couldn't get it, it was it wasout of your hands, you had no
(35:29):
chance of ever getting thatagain. Okay. So it was a big
deal. So then they launched somenewly remastered versions in the
early 2000s. and So sing alongwith Tigger on my way, little
patch of heaven. And then theylaunched Disney Princess sing
along volumes, one, two, andthree. Okay. Now, you may
(35:49):
wonder, why haven't we had anymore of these since, say
approximately 2006?
Chris (36:02):
Well, I mean, was that would have predated streaming
like we have today. So YouTube
Kelli (36:06):
launched in 2005. And so once YouTube launched couldn't
really stop, no, they launchedtheir own channel and post the
singalong songs there. Soinstead of creating videos, they
just go straight to YouTube withit, and they're getting the, the
likes, clicks, followssubscribes, etc. Now, here's the
(36:30):
problem with this plan. I'm finewith the plan, put them on
YouTube. Okay, but that's notwhere I found my intro song. I
had to really dig for that.
There are places online, wherepeople upload those entire VHS
tapes have to be illegal, but itlooks to me it came up in the
first page of Google search. Soit wasn't like on the dark web
or anything. Sure. Okay. But inany case, they have 158 videos

on their singalong channel. Andnone of them are the ones from
this one, right? Because theseare all older. Right? So they
don't have like Pocahontas.
They're still in Beauty andBeast. They have the new

Aladdin. They have the frozenthey have onward they have all
of the new zombies and HighSchool Musical and stuff like
that. They don't have theseolder ones on there, which I
think is ageist I would justlike to say and be bring them
back.
