I've been feeling kind of meh. You too? I love my work and we have fun in the salon, but once I'm done, I start to feel overwhelmed with all the adulting, running my business, and overthinking about how I'm going to retire and the direction I want to go in my life.

I had to get rid of the things that were draining my energy and find ways to build it back up.  This is my challenge for you: reboot, relax, and refuel!

Patrice B (00:40):
Welcome back to the most randomest podcast ever.
I'm so happy to be here with youguys again today.
I have been in this space ofjust going, going, going, going
so much that if you asked mewhat my mood was, I would be

(01:00):
like, it's meh.
I go in the salon, it's amazing, and when I'm in there, like, I
absolutely, I'ma tell you guyswhen I'm in the salon, I love
what I do.
But I realize being, as busy inthe salon, out of the salon,
just all of liferesponsibilities cause you know,

(01:23):
adulting, that hood is always soghetto.
You can just feel overwhelmed.
I'm trying to plan my wholefuture.
You guys, and I am trying toplan it in a week.
I'm trying to figure out how I'mgoing to retire, get old, stay
young, raise the kids, run abusiness, start about four more

(01:43):
businesses and needs to happennow.
And you know, I know, I know, Iknow, I know.
It is all really just meoverthinking, doing too much,
not letting life take its time.
But truth of the matter is I'vebeen feeling meh.
And so I had to get back tofinding what was the drainers.

(02:08):
of my energy.
What was I doing to myself inthis space?
Right?
And then what do you do to fixit?
Well, lovely thing, this weekendis that I actually got out.
I was like, I'm going to get outof this house.
I am not going to be like boggeddown with work and all the extra

(02:28):
things, but I did go to the hairshow and I wasn't going to go.
I was like, you know what?
I know you plan to go to thisback in November, but today's
the day and I don't really feellike I want to go.
Like, especially when the daycomes and you know how you just
don't have the energy to do it.
But I was so, so glad that I gotout and I did that.

(02:51):
Because it had just allowed meto do a nice little reset.
I got to see some very creativeand beautiful people because I
love what I do.
But sometimes like I am in thesalon and I'm sure I am when I
tell you, I even talked to someof my colleagues in the
industry, solopreneurs where youare everything to the business.

(03:15):
It can be rather daunting attimes.
Somebody needs to moveappointment, change appointment,
up, down.
It's like a game of checkers andchess and your brain can be
burnt out because you're tryingto figure out the color formulas
and where you could place thepeople and what's the best time
because everybody moving aroundlike a chess piece.

(03:36):
But it was so nice to just takea moment to reset and I have
gone back to And then Ishouldn't say I've gone back to,
because it's not like I've neverreally stopped, but I have been
more focused in my meditation totry to start the days out
better.
And I'm going to tell you this, when I'm in the salon, we have
fun.
I have fun.

(03:57):
But when I leave, I'm like, meh,we're back to what is the rest
of my life going to look likeoutside of there.
And it was just one of thosethings where you're just like,
what in the world are you doing?
And I had to find those thingsthat would refuel your spirit,
refuel my spirit, I should say.

(04:18):
And I know a lot of people arelike, you know, in that space
these days is so much going onaround us between social media,
the news, and that stuff can bea drainer to you as well.
And you don't even realize it.
Some of us are in our day todays and We just are like

(04:39):
functioning.
The things that I have found tojust refuel, reboot, is really
just getting out.
Getting out and doing the thingsyou love.
Everything doesn't have to havea, High ticket to it doesn't
always have to be a vacation, but sometimes getting out and
socializing in the spaces whereyou love.

(05:02):
And doing the things that youlove can just give you a little
extra boost, right?
And I'm like, Oh, it felt sogood.
Other things that I try to do isI, I try to create like a spa
day for me as spa day may be athome in a bathtub, but I create
a whole mood.
I will have some candles andsome wine.

(05:25):
It gets serious or I just try totake that moment to just step
out.
Can I go and get a service?
Can I go and get a massage?
What does budget look liketoday?
Can we do that timing?
What does it look like?
But taking those moments ofreflection and being still helps

(05:45):
to just reset, reboot, getproper rest.
Now I probably got more rest, even though it has been very
busy, I've been very intentionalwith it.
Just take your tail to sleep, girl.
All that ain't even necessary.
The Instagram, the TikToks, allof that, like, just let it be,

(06:06):
but just taking those momentsbecause being a solopreneur is a
lot.
Being a mom, a dad, carting thekids around, working with their
schedules, shoot, sometimes justyour job in itself, half of you
guys now work from home andYou're like working on the
weekends you work later than thenormal hours that did But when

(06:29):
you went into your job and I washours along and we just have to
have those moments of escape inthe day And this week, I hope
you guys treat yourself tosomething.
I know I was taking you guysback into the salon, but what I
really would like for you to dois I want you to refuel, reboot,

(06:50):
and just relax.
What was that back on?
Um, Was it a different worldwhen we used to be like, relax,
relate, release?
That's what I want for you guys.
It's a new month.
We are ending out the firstquarter.
Can we relax, relate, andrelease?
So that we can see what'scoming.

(07:11):
What is it we are to do next?
And next meaning tomorrow.
Not 25 years from now.
Not December of 2024.
But just getting a grip on thenow.
And breaking through your meh,the dash.
What are we doing with thattime?
And I just had to share thatwith you guys because I hope

(07:31):
that you refuel, reboot, andrelax.
Take your time, all the timethat you need.
Take those moments for you.
It's needed and as always, Iappreciate you guys for taking
your time and spending it withme.
I know you got options and yougot other things to do, but you

(07:53):
chose to spend it with me and Iappreciate you.
Thank you.
And don't forget, reboot, relax, and refuel.
