We've reached the one year anniversary of this podcast!  THANK YOU for supporting your girl and being here with me!

I also recently passed the 8 year anniversary of opening my salon and let me tell you, that was a time when I had to JUMP and take that leap of faith. My son's daycare gave us 2 weeks notice that they were closing down, and I had to act FAST.

What do you need to jump on? What are you waiting for?

Patrice B (00:40):
Welcome back, y'all! Welcome to Tacos Tequila Therapy
and the Tea.
Can I just tell you guys thatthere is an announcement of my
one year anniversary with thispodcast.
I am so freaking excited.
A year.
We have been together now for ayear.

(01:02):
And I'm like, It went by sofreaking fast.
I'm so excited.
I cannot believe that I hadjumped out with like, what in
the world you going to do withthis?
And I've been rocking with y'allfor a year now, or y'all been
rocking with me.
And either way, I appreciate youbecause this has been crazy.
I've learned so much in thisyear, just of myself that I have

(01:26):
shared with you guys and madediscoveries of just not as a
business woman, but as a personwho is growing in her journey of
this like healing and growth andunderstanding this thing called
life.
And along with celebrating ayear with the podcast, I
celebrated eight years on 320 inthe salon.

(01:49):
Eight years ago, the universedealt a card and was like, Hey
girl, it's time for you to jump.
And I listened.
It was the most uncomfortablejump ever.
Some of you may know the story, some of you don't, but eight
years ago, I got an email frommy son's school.
He was in a learning center.
He was about five years old.

(02:09):
He wasn't quite in kindergartenyet because he has a late
birthday to say, Hey, we got totalk to the parents by the end
of the day, meet us in thesanctuary.
Or be on the call.
This weekend was a crazyweekend.
I was an educator at the timefor Paul Mitchell and I had a
training where I had to learn alot of looks and it was going to

(02:31):
be all weekend.
I jump on this call at like 5pmto find out that my son's school
was giving me a two week noticeof they were completely shutting
down.
Every child was going to be outthere in two weeks.
Immediately you can hear all thechatter that parents are like
scrambling.
They're like, what in the worldare we about to do because we

(02:51):
have to find new childcare forour children.
Now my son was at a reallyinteresting age because he was
almost into kindergarten andthis was freaking the end of
February.
It was February.
Like, we are smack dab in themiddle of a school year.
What do you do?

(03:12):
And so his teachers reassured melike, look, if you can keep him
with you, you would be fine, save you some money, and he
would be great for kindergarten.
Now, his mama teaching him.
It was definitely going to besomething that, um, I needed
some help on and some prayersbecause my attention span is
short to be trying to do somehomeschooling and get my child
ready for kindergarten.

(03:33):
But I did it.
I went back into my salonbecause I was in a salon where
no, I couldn't bring him with mein the afternoons and evenings.
I would have had to cut the dayshorter.
I would have had to go a littlefurther out in terms of the
school of where he would go.
It would have cost me moremoney.
And at the same time, His fatherwas like, Hey, I no longer have

(03:54):
weekends off.
I just got bumped off myschedule.
So I wouldn't have been able towork a Saturday.
And at this time, y'all, I wouldnot have been able to afford to
live, survive, or take care ofthis kid.
Like no time in the salon.
I was so worried.
And so I made the leap of faithto just go out and I went into a
suite where I was like teachinghim a business woman, providing

(04:17):
the service all at the sametime, and it happened in two
weeks.
Two weeks my life justcompletely changed, like blink,
blink.
I was in the salon, by myself, and I cannot believe it was 8
years ago.
And I have seen, oh my gosh,I've seen so much growth in me.
My son now is 13 years old.
And I keep calling him themidget, even though he really

(04:39):
isn't a midget anymore.
He's taller than me, but, y'all.
8 years in business.
in that eight years, I wasteaching my own classes outside
of a major hair care company.
I have started this podcast.
Like I'm celebrating right herein this here, April of just
gratitude, gratitude, gratitudefor all of the support that I

(05:05):
have received from you guys.
I thank you.
I thank you.
I thank you.
I thank you.
For just supporting your girlall the time.
And seeing the passion behindeverything that I do.
Cause I mean, I tell y'all, I'vebeen sharing y'all some stuff.
Like some of the stuff I sharewith y'all are really my
newfound discoveries withinmyself.

(05:26):
Don't let nobody play about you.
But when you love you, man, theuniverse listens and shows up
and shows out.
It gives you exactly what youneed.
Because eight years ago, eventhough my son's school changed,
I was in a salon that wasputting a ceiling over my head.
And that glass ceiling, I couldsee beyond it, but it was moving
in close on my head.

(05:48):
And where I thought that I wasin a wonderful place that would
support growth and I wouldflourish, I was becoming
stagnant and sad.
And that isn't the first timethat has happened in my career.
And the universe listens andopened up the door and here we
are.
So I just want you guys to knowthat I am grateful for you.

(06:09):
Thank you for being with me onthis journey.
I am looking forward to what iscoming next.
I cannot wait.
Happy anniversary to us becausewe done been together.
We together now.
Happy anniversary.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And I know y'all got options andyou could have been anywhere

(06:31):
else, but you chose to spend itwith me and I'm grateful.
Until next time, enjoy your dayon purpose.
