Being the first at something and somewhere is never easy. However, it can absolutely prepare you for a life of independence like nothing else. Personally, I always thought being the oldest prepared me in ways to face the world. There was no one else to blame and you had to pave the way…every…single…time. But being an only child AND the first at almost EVERYTHING, well that’s just extraordinary! Coach Robert Morrison is exactly the independent and strong man you would expect him to be. His life has been anything but simple and ordinary. His story is filled with playing in the NFL to coaching high school students to earning 2 different Master degrees in Education. In his professional career as a teacher and administrator he walked on EACH campus as the FIRST black educator. At EACH of the 7 campuses! He truly changed the education culture in the state of Texas. His reputation is like that of a movie. This incredible man has positively influenced the lives of over 50,000 students and their families. You won’t want to stop listening to his stories…and you are going to need a Kleenex.
