Join us in this episode of the podcast as we sit down with Kelly Schischka, the driving force behind the Zespri AIMS Games, one of New Zealand's largest sporting events for intermediate-aged students.
The Zespri AIMs games give 11, 12 & 13-year-olds an opportunity to compete as an individual or a team against their age in NZ & other countries in 25 + different sporting codes.
This results in more athletes than some Olympic games, an introduction of 75,000 + visitor nights, and 6.2 million dollars spent on the local economy.
11,500+ Competitors
370+ Schools
1,800+ Volunteers
It is a big event from waste management, accommodation, coaches, parents, and sporting codes including other stakeholders such as the council and general community….
How do you start putting this week-long tournament and event together with so many moving parts, and so many ferrets to tame!?
From humble beginnings to Australian supercars back to the largest pre-teen sporting event in Australasia, tune into Kellly Schiska – and what it takes to have goals, AIM right, and AIM high!
If you're interested in event management, this is an episode you won't want to miss!
