Gordon and Eliza are home alone, looking after two children (themselves). Do they hear the phone ring with a mysterious stranger on the other end, and the phone call is actually coming from inside the house?
No, actually. Not this time. Actually the phone line is dead (cut?), but a stranger is actually at Julia Jenz's (Jill Schoelen) door as she babysits two children. As he accosts Julia, making her more and more scared, suddenly he warns her that there's been a man in the upstairs window. Before Julia knows it, the kids have been kidnapped and she's about to be attacked herself before she runs out of the house, where the mysterious stranger she's been talking to has disappeared, as has the man inside.
That is the first 30 minutes. The rest of the movie takes place five years later, as Julia is still reeling from the trauma of that night, and out of the blue, mysterious things start happening in her apartment despite every door being locked and her window being high off the ground. The only person who can help? Not the cops, of course, but Carol Kane and Charles Durning! You remember them? From the first movie? (Eliza doesn't, she hasn't seen it.) They're back! And they're here to help!
Will they find the stranger? Will he have some weird performance art? Will he be weirdly good at body paint? Would he be cancelled on tiktok if he was alive nowadays? All these questions and more will be answered as Gordon and Eliza discuss WHEN A STRANGER CALLS BACK!
