On August 2, 2023, on Delta Flight 2432 from Atlanta, GA to New Orleans, LA, 39-year-old Nelson Montgomery, armed with a broken piece of glass, caused a self-inflicted injury to his neck. Montgomery then put a flight attendant in a chokehold and threatened to decapitate them if anyone intervened.
