Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, hello, my fantastic listeners, welcome
back to the 2% solution, wherewe're all about making small
changes for huge impact.
I'm Diamond Well, your guide onthis journey to a more
fulfilling, joyful and happylife.
Today, we're diving deep intosomething that's close to my
heart the whole life fitnessmanifestos, 5s philosophy.

(00:24):
Now, trust me, this isn't youraverage fitness talk.
We're going beyond the gym andinto the realm of holistic
well-being.
Now you might be thinking whatin the world are the 5S?
Well, fasten your seat beltsbecause we're about to explore
fitness, family, faith, financesand fun, which are the five

(00:44):
pillars that can balance andenrich your life in ways you've
never imagined.
Many years ago, I wrote a bookcalled the Whole Life Fitness
Manifesto.
It was a 28-day lifestyleprogram that teaches people how
to leverage 2% of every 24 hoursthat's 30 minutes to maximize
the impact and shifts inphysical, emotional and

(01:05):
spiritual well-being.
It's a very simple process, easy to get started, simple to
maintain and the coolest part isI've never had anybody at the
thousands and thousands ofpeople that have done the
program ever reach out to me andsay that they didn't experience
a dramatic shift in some partof their holistic well-being

(01:27):
within as short as 28 days.
It's simple.
Right, we're talking about 30minutes each and every day.
But here's the challenge whenit comes to directing ourselves
through our lives, we have tounderstand that we have
underlying belief systems thatoften help us navigate our
autopilot.
What I mean by that issubconsciously, we are making

(01:52):
decisions all the time, whetherwe're aware of it or not.
Have you ever found yourselfaccidentally snacking without
even recognizing that you'resnacking?
Maybe it's grabbing.
There's that bowl of nutssitting on the table and you
just reach in for a handful andthrow them in your mouth without
even thinking or askingyourself hey, am I even hungry?
Do I even need that?
Because sometimes we just dothings automatically and some of

(02:15):
these automatic beliefs or ourprocesses that are running in
the background right littleprograms in our brain they can
actually be drawing us backwards, holding us back, causing us to
regress, especially when we'remaking big advancements.
I usually find the biggestissue for this is lack of
clarity and lack of confidence.
Clarity when we have it, wefeel more confident, and when we

(02:39):
feel more confident, we takemore decisive action.
And the cool part is, when wetake more actions and we start
to experience better results, westart to again feel more
confident, which in turn, willalso start to create more
clarity, and so, again, we see away to add and flow between
these three areas.
But I've always had people comeup to me me myself, I'm

(03:01):
included in this lot.
Just, I had to work throughthis many, many years ago, 15
years ago now.
How do we direct ourselves inour lives, this underlying
subconscious piece of who we are?
How do we tune into that?
How do we start to change orshift some of those beliefs to
be more serving for what we wantout of our lives professionally

(03:24):
and personally?
Well, we're going to get intothe neuroscience in a later
episode, but, for the sake ofthe 5s, the whole life fitness
manifest was all about givingsomebody something simple, and
simple doesn't always mean easy, but if you have 30 minutes a
day and I've room to put a towelon the floor, you've got no
excuse.
Okay, you can make this happen.

(03:45):
And, fyi, if there's people outthere thinking, oh gosh, 30
minutes a day, well, pick upthat smartphone, go to the
screen time.
Right, most of them have thatfunction now.
They'll measure your screentime and tell you how much time
you spent just on your phonescreen on every 24 hour day, I'm
guarantee you majority ofpeople I'd say 99.9% of people

(04:06):
are going to notice that, wow,I've got some time.
I can definitely reclaim for myhealth, and this isn't meant to
be shaming or making you feelbad, but more so to help you
build awareness around some ofthese subconscious habits that
might also be holding us backfrom making some of the positive
changes.
Now, with our belief systems, there's another component called

(04:28):
values.
Values are the things thatreally steer the ship in very
decisive directions.
So what do I mean by that?
Well, when we're clear on ourvalues, like really, really know
, like they're non-negotiablemeaning that there are certain
beliefs here that are sohardwired, so foundational in
how you've become who you aretoday, you know through and

(04:51):
through, right down to your DNA.
Well, those are unshakable, they are your guiding principles
.
But a lot of us don't take thetime to really sit with
ourselves and ask ourselves whatare my values?
Well, I'm excited to plant alittle seed.
I've got wonderful TaraRobertson going to be joining us

(05:12):
on one of our episodes and sheis going to be taking us through
some very specific exercises tohelp us identify our core
values.
But in the meantime, I'll sharewith you sort of what my values
were and the values that Ishared with people, because I
believe these do in capture alot of our values for those that
are looking to improve certainareas of their life Fitness as

(05:35):
an example.
You know like these are theideas of the 5S.
Once you've got these values inplace, it's going to allow you
to be more decisive and say yesor no to things more quickly.
Think about them as filters, but they're also conduits to
seeing change.
So let's talk about fitnessfirst.
You know I'm not talking aboutlifts and weights or running
marathons, for that point, though if that's your jam, I

(05:59):
mean more power to you.
I mean that's correct, right.
But fitness here, the way I'mreferring to it, is about
finding activities that keepyour body moving and grooving.
It's all about feeling aliveand energized, not just fit.
Remember, a little bit can go along way.
A 2% daily effort can transformyour physical health
tremendously, and it doesn'thappen immediately, but it will

(06:21):
happen fairly quickly.
Next is family.
This isn't just about spendingtime with your loved ones,
though that's super important.
It's about quality interactions, whether it's family dinner
without phones, a weekend hike, maybe just a good old fashioned
board game night.
It's about creating memories, connection and strengthening
bonds.
Moving on to faith now.

(06:43):
This can mean different thingsto different people.
It could be spiritually, maybeit's meditation, maybe it's
simply spending time in nature.
It's about connecting withsomething greater than yourself,
finding inner peace andcentering your soul.
Even just a few moments ofreflection daily can be
incredibly powerful.
On to finances Now.

(07:04):
I can hear you groanin', buthear me out.
It's not just about makingmoney.
It's about managing it wiselyand making it work for you.
It's about financial health andfreedom.
Even small steps like setting abudget or learning about
investments are steps in theright direction.
Last, but definitely not least,is fun.
Yeah, you heard her right.
Fun is an essential part oflife.

(07:25):
It's about doing things thatbring you joy and laughter.
Life's too short not to havefun, so make sure you're carving
out time for hobbies, adventures or just silly moments
.
These 5S, this 5F philosophy, ifyou will, is about creating a
balance, fulfilling life.
And guess what?
You don't have to overhaul yourlife overnight.
It's about those small, consistent 2% changes that lead

(07:47):
to massive transformation.
I hope you're leaving today'sepisode feeling somewhat more
inspired to look at theseaspects of your life a little
differently.
Remember, it's not aboutperfection.
It's about progress, one step, one day, one, 2% at a time.
Thanks for tuning in and keeppushing for that 2% improvement

(08:08):
in all areas of your life.
Catch you next time on the 2%solution, where small steps lead
to big changes.
And before I go, because I'd beremiss if I didn't at least
mention in future episodes we'regoing to go deeper on this
concept of the 5S, because eventhough I've shared the 5S with
you today, I realize that thosemay not be the same values that

(08:28):
you have.
But I want to encourage you andsupport you in figuring out
what are your five core values, because when you have that watch
out, clarity creates greaterconfidence.
Take more action, procrastinateless, and that's where the
magic truly happens.
That's where the change happens.
That's where you feel thatpride and that excitement and

(08:50):
belief in yourself that, wow, change wasn't even possible a
moment ago, but now it's morethan possible.
It's happening because I choosefor it to happen.
With that, if you found anyvalue in today's episode, please
like, share, subscribe.
I love a five star review asI'm just getting started on this

(09:10):
podcast journey and yourcomments and support really mean
the world to me.

I'm super excited to be alongthis path with you and if you
have any questions or want toreach out to connect, talk, be

I've even got a value exerciseI'll be posting along with the

(09:32):
show notes and also including inthe 2% collective community.
