Speaker 2 (02:37):
Do you want to live a life of total awesomeness?
Some years ago, I asked myselfthat same question.
I realized that, while I had alot to be thankful for in my
life, I was falling short of myown potential.
Don't get me wrong.
I was doing the best I couldand life had been trucking along
just fine.
I had moved to a new city onthe West Coast, attended

(02:59):
university, started to discovermyself, landed a great job, fell
in love, traveled a little andstarted a family, but I never
seemed to have time for thethings that were most important
to me.
I was also spending more moneythan I had.
My health and fitness ebbed andflowed throughout my life.
When I only had to worry aboutmyself, I could always find time

(03:21):
for fitness, but when otherpeople my family became a
significant part of my life, Ifelt pulled to prioritize us
rather than me, and my healthoften suffered as a result.
I figured this was just the wayit went After all.
It seemed like everyone else Iknew was on the same path, but
in the back of my mind I wasalways thinking is this really

(03:43):
how life is supposed to be?
As time went on, I kept tryingto balance the priorities of my
life, striving to attainperfection, but I was constantly
disappointed in myself.
I was never able to trulybalance it all.
When I let one part of my lifebecome the shining star, all
other aspects of my life woulddim in comparison.
If I focused on family, mycareer suffered.

(04:05):
When I turned my energiestowards my career, in particular
when I was building my company,my family felt it, and so did
my health.
I just never seemed to haveenough to make everything work.
Do you know that feeling?
Like many people, I found happydistraction in activities that
didn't propel me forward in lifePub nights, boys trips, nights

(04:25):
out with my colleagues and longdays on the golf course.
I kept telling myself thattomorrow would be the day to
reset and get everything inorder.
Tomorrow is the day to start mynew habits.
Tomorrow is the start of mypath to awesomeness.
But you know what?
Every day I'd wake up to todayand tomorrow would never arrive.

(04:47):
Maybe you can relate.
Many of us put all of ourobligations, whether it's work,
family or social life, ahead ofour own well-being and personal
growth.
We're so busy taking care ofwhat other people need from us
that we forget to pay attentionto our own needs.
The problem with that is that, while this might help us to get
a lot done, mostly for others,we're probably not feeling

(05:11):
satisfied with our lives.
Even worse, if we're notcareful, we can burn out both
mentally and physically.
When that happens, we not onlylet ourselves down, we also let
down those who depend on us.
My goal in creating thewhole-life fitness manifesto is
to sweep away the negativeenergies, accentuate the
positive ones and ultimatelyempower you to radiate your own

(05:34):
awesomeness along with thegreatness of those around you.
In a nutshell, the whole-lifefitness manifesto is putting
yourself first, which willultimately benefit you and those
you care about.
We all have people in our livesthat matter to us.
It's time we begin to matter toourselves so that we can enjoy
an incredible life with eachother.

(05:54):
So welcome to a new kind offitness book.
We're not just talking aboutphysical fitness here.
We're acknowledging thatwhole-life awesomeness
encompasses fitness of mind, body and spirit, and because
this is something that we alldeserve, this book is for
everyone.
Even the moststamina-challenged person can
tackle the whole-life fitnesspower 30 program, which will

(06:18):
also test you if you are alreadypushing your own fitness limits
.
Getting a grip on total healthand wellness is particularly
important now because ofdisturbing rises in obesity and
diabetes.
Current health statistics, which you'll find throughout
this book, are not pretty.
In fact, they are soberingwake-up call.
But there is reason for hope.
On the other end of thisspectrum, there is booming

(06:41):
personal growth, in which peopleare realizing their limitless
potential as human beings.
But simply linking your greaterpotential to your physical
fitness is a powerfulcombination that can change and
possibly save your life.
As you'll see, workouts don'thave to be a chore.
Working out is really aboutenjoying a burst of movement

(07:02):
that can function as a reset, abreak and a check-in with your
body throughout the day.
It's about feeling how dailymovement can activate all kinds
of positive things in your life.
What makes me so certain aboutall this?
Let me share a deep and personalstory.
When I was a kid, there weretwo students in my school who
were extremely overweight.

(07:23):
I was one of them.
As a 200-pound-plus-15-year-old, I had a body mass index of
over 40.
I was, by definition, morbidlyobese.
But after a big personalbreakthrough shortly after my
15th birthday, I dug deep tomake change and, quite simply, I
never looked back.

(07:44):
My mental attitude played apivotal role in making that
change.
I wanted to be healthy, Iwanted to be happy.
I'm more satisfied with my lifein all, and I did whatever it
took to make that happen.
Today, I'm honored to be a partof a healthy and beautiful
family with my wife, christy, and my two daughters, shardin
and Bre Lynn.
I constantly strive to live alife of which I'm proud.

(08:06):
My professional life haveevolved from a successful
fitness equipment entrepreneurto a personal trainer, a life
coach, a speaker, author and allaround life and answer.
I'm honored to have the abilityto help people every day.
That's pretty awesome.
Beyond my family, physicalhealth and career, one of the
most important aspects of mywell-being is my mental health,

(08:28):
or emotional fitness.
I continually strive tocultivate a deep sense of
purpose in my heart and mind.
This is what makes me springout of bed in the morning and at
the end of each day I askmyself was I the best person I
could possibly be today?
If I can answer yes more oftenthan not, then I know I'm on the
right track.
I know we are all capable ofachieving whole life fitness.

(08:51):
That is, while I believe thatwe can work out on our own, we
never have to be alone with ourfitness and lifestyle goals.
Now that you've found this book, you have found your community,
your tribe.
No matter what your currentlifestyle, age, gender or
personality, you are not alone.
We are here to encourage andsupport each other to be

(09:14):
happiest, healthiest version ofourselves.
So hands up if you're ready fora whole life of awesomeness.
