Anthony uses the fact that he's the host of a relationship podcast to watch all the crazy relationship shows on TV. One trend he's been noticing is that several of the young participants of these reality shows have NEVER been in serious relationships. Being in reality TV relationships doesn't give you the emotional intelligence to deal with serious relationships. Plus, what constitutes a serious relationship in terms of duration? For a young person in their early thirties it's considered a red flag not having been in more than 3 relationships that lasted 6 months or more. There are cultural changes in the new generations regarding dating and relationships. This new generation doesn't get into a lot of serious relationships like the older generations did - it seems they hop around less intimate relationships that don't last too long. Could it be that the new technologies and dating apps have affected the way young people have relationships nowadays, and influence how long these relationships last? Listen to this episode to find out if you have enough serious relationship experience to get married or if you're one of the young ones who switch partners as often as they change clothes.
